Another newby here (well kinda. I did SB several years ago and did great as long as I stuck to the plan so I'm back to do it right this time and finish the job I didn't the first time). I'm on day 4 of p1 and so far so good. My biggest problem so far is trying to get all three meals in plus the snacks. I've skipped a few and I know that isn't good so am working on that.

SouthernJudy, I've had BAD leg cramps the past couple of nights and see others say it may be related to the amount of fluids so will up that starting tomorrow.

I'm on the 6th day of phase 1 and haven't lost any weight Maybe my serving sizes are too large. Should I add an extra week of P1 if I don't lose?

Day 5 of phase 1 for me and I'm still on plan! So far I find that I do better if I don't try to get too creative with my menu. It is easier for me right now to have just about the same thing most days but as I get stronger I definitely will vary my menu. Right now I'm having
B - 2 eggs, V-8, 1 slice of turkey bacon.
L - 3 chicken wraps full of vegs, cucumber w/wine ving.
D - Salad full of vegs with either chicken or crab.
Snack - Vanilla Ricotta w/chopped pecans

It seems to be working as the ponds are coming off. Still have the "desire" to eat in the afternoon and late at night before I go to bed but nothing I can't handle. Just old habits not giving up easily.

Question: I am feeling a bit dizzy/light headed at times. Is anyone else on phase 1 feeling this?

Lamay, I felt lightheaded and dizzy a bit for the first few days if I went too long without eating. Also, when I have leg cramps, I take this calcium/magnesium supplement called 'Calms Plus, it is a lemon flavored powder and it goes into your system quickly. It always helps. Plus it helps me relax enough to get to sleep.

Good luck!

I am on my period, so I might have water weight, but am really feeling fat here and I have been on plan. If I go to the movies tonight, I will have to contend with not getting popcorn, which might be hard (I love popcorn at the movies)

I just can't wait to have sushi again!!! I love my sushi!!!!

I've been reading SB info as much as possible in order to learn so I can do a better job and if I'm correct, fruits are not allowed on phase 1 but sugar free jams and jellies are.........that sounds like a contridiction to me. Can anyone explain so my thick mind can understand?

Lamay, 11 pounds?? That's great!! I lost 3.5 on my first week, but I did have a lot of good fats (nuts, avocados ) Possibly more than I should have. I had them to pick at while i was working. I am also on day 1 of my second week. I will be finished weith P1 on Sunday, just in time for a lunch with family. It will be easier to make choices from the menu.

Thanks Belovedk, I really worked hard staying on plan and it paid off. However, I am old enough to know that that was really the easiest and most exciting part. Now comes the much slower weight loss and the day to day "must stick to being on plan" part. That being said, I'm still very motivated.

Hey you only weigh about half of what I do so loosing your 3.5 pounds is doing good.

Since we both started at the same time, it will be interesting to support each other as we walk this path.

Hello ladies...jumping in here. I just completed phase 1 and lost 12 pounds.

I started phase 2 over the weekend, but found myself really tempted, so I don't think I'm ready for it yet. There was also a lot of emotional stuff going onSaturday, so I am SURE that contributed. I think my body is supah sensitive to carbs, so I am going to have to be really careful. I tried 1/2 C steel cut oats for breakfast mixed with a Tablespoon of natural peanut butter and about 6 drops of stevia...to die for good, but then I craved carbs the rest of the day and I hadn't felt that way the 2 weeks prior.

For a sweet treat, I found an herbal tea by Adagio called Honeybush Hazlenut that I steep with some Roobios vanilla, add a little FF creamer and some splenda, makes a nice sweet treat that is totally on plan. Satiates my sweet tooth on a regular basis.

Anyone else afraid of themselves once they go off Phase I? I'm terrified and enjoying the comfort of being so restricted.

ASQ - you may try experimenting with your carbs. I can't have carbs in the morning, or else I'm snacky all day, but then I can't have them in the evening or I don't lose. If I have grains, which I don't most days, I have them mid-day.

Also, add things back slowly. I would start with a fruit for the first week, and then add a grain the next week. Adding it slowly allows you to experiment with just that one thing to see if you can have it without wanting to eat everything else in the house at the same time.

Hey Artic, Twelve pounds..way to go! Proud of you as I'm right behind you and know how hard it can be at times. Our weight is very similar and so is our weight loss so far.

I am soooo afraid of going off phase one! I did SB a few years ago and had a real struggle once I was on phase two so although I know they don't recommend it, I am definitely going to stay on phase one until I feel comfortable and then will go at a snails pace on phase two. I also know that carbs set off my problem button......

Congrats to all of you who have completed Phase 1 & are moving on!

my husband & I are starting Phase 1 on Tuesday (our 10th anniversary celebration this weekend so we thought we'd wait until after so it wasn't a struggle) & I'm trying to put together our meal plans for the 2 weeks of P1.
The info on this board is fabulous! Thanks for all the meals ideas & recipes.
Best of luck to all the newbies like me. I did SBD a few years ago but let myself down by giving in to my sweet/carb cravings & never looked back. I am hoping that having hubby by my side this time it will be a little easier.

Hey Arctic Stamp Queen,
I'm with you about being nervous going off Phase 1 -I'm in week 2 of Phase 1 but I already have some anxiety about the transition. I've gotten frustrated and quit so many times before in my life -just with the slowness of losing weight and plateaus. Argh. But that's why I'm here right? Support. Yay.

WMD - Welcome back! I'm in my second week of phase one and so far so good. No excuses this time for me. At my age (grin), I'm not going to get another chance to get this right so I'm putting a lot of thought and energy into the way I am handling this this time. I would love to have my husband on the plan with me but unfortunately for me and fortunately for him, he can eat everything and anything and he still weights almost the same as when we were married 50 plus years ago........tall and thin. But that being said, he is eating a lot better because some of my meals will work for both of us and when it doesn't, then I just cook for him separately. So far so good.
