Ok, I weighed again this morning (yesterday's weigh in was in the late afternoon) and I'm down another 2 pounds! I seriously don't know where it's coming from since my belly is huge (or it looks big to me) and my eating was so off this week due to staying with the in-laws and morning sickness.
I have a feeling this is the last of my weight loss this pregnancy (the two pound loss this week actually happened right after I weighed in last week but today is my official weigh-in day). My appetite has come back BIG TIME! I'm just sooo hungry all the time now. I kind of remember last time around too that at 8 weeks my symptoms went more from 1st trimester to 2nd trimester. As in I had less nausea/fatigue/sore breasts but instead I was hungrier and started having round ligament pain (ugh, why, oh why do I get it so early???). Crazy dreams seem to be a constant, though, and cravings are coming on strong!
Guess I could have waited another day to weigh in, but I was thinking about it and missed last week, so I thought I would go ahead and weigh and post before I forgot again.
At my first Dr's visit, the NP told me that I should limit my weight gain to 10 pounds and it would even be ok if I didn't gain any weight at all. So, I know the no weight gain at all is never going to happen, so I'll try to limit my weight gain.
update - talked to ob at visit last week about morning sickness returning. I don't throw up anymore, but queasy and definitely having a hard time eating right as many foods make me gag. He told me to be sure to take vitamins daily and work on eating nutritious meals when I can. I've also been walking a lot more now that I'm in California for a couple weeks. (Lots of snow and ice back in Indiana so walking outside is not possible)
As predicted the weight loss has stop do to the increase in my appetite. Otherwise nothing much new but I can't wait for the next 3 weeks to be over because then I'll be out of the first trimester, we'll be in our new apt, AND I'll get to have my first appointment with my midwife!
DeltaWifey - Both my kids were born unmedicated, at a birth center with a midwife. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about both the care I received during my pregnancies and the birth experiences. I hope you love your MW as much as I do!
I haven't had much of an appetite the past few weeks... I can only eat a little bit at a time, and I'm trying to make everything I eat count, lots of meat, veggies, fruit... drinking a lot, lot, lot of milk. Also taking a prenatal vitamin as well as fish oil.
It went great, she's attened lots of births, and has experience with different complications. She talked to me about the Brewers diet (which I'm already doing), and she thinks natural childbirth will be easy for me since I had pitocin with my last natural birth. Pitocin supposedly makes contractions stronger and most people get the epidural, so she was shocked that I did it without meds. I'm very excited and it sucks that my husband might not be here for the birth since he will be deployed but I still want to have a home birth even if he's not here.
My 1st appt will be on the 16th of March so I still have a ways to go
Same here. my last 2 childbirths were at a birth center assisted by the same midwife. I loved her and cried the last time I saw her. I can't say enough good things about my midwife. Both my experiences were awesome. I hope you have a great experience as well.
I think that's where I'm at. I'm not weighing on a digital scale and it's in kilos so there's some guess work that goes into it. However, it's right between 77/78 kilos and sort of bounces back and forth between the two so I'll say 193 lbs.
I'm surprised I lost some more even... I really thought this was slowing down.
Oh, and we're going the midwife route too. I get to meet her next month sometime, I can't wait! It's hard, though, because that means I have to wait so long to hear the heartbeat for the first time (we're waiting for our insurance to kick in). I'm also planning on getting a doula this time too.
LabMonkey, the flab tightens up quite a bit after a few months. Your belly shrunk from a watermelon to nothing overnight, gotta give your skin a chance to catch up.
