I'm losing, but very slowly. That's OK, slow is better than no. Blood sugar has been excellent, as long as I watch my P's and Q's. I wish I could eat some of your choices, PQ and still lose, but blood sugar would not be good. I am much more carb sensitive than I realized. I don't know if that will ever change. I think I read somewhere that the lower carb you eat, the more carb sensitive you become. Just doesn't seem fair, but life is not always fair. You have to go with the program.

I think slower is better Carol Sue. Most of us do not gain weight really quickly, except maybe water weight, so it's reasonable to expect it to come off slowly. That's fantastic about your blood sugar as well!

I'm down to just a pound over my pre NYC/experiment weight. I shaved another pound off the scale reading this morning. I didn't exercise yesterday, but did go to Costco and walk my daughters crazy/ding dong pittie mix. She's super strong and it's a workout walking her around the yard. Hoping to be back to at least my low (138.6 lbs) by the time school starts on the 22nd (kids arrive the 24th).

Yesterday....
Break - beef fajita
Lunch - 2 kiwis, skinless chicken leg
Dinner - skinless roasted chicken w/tarragon sauce, potato salad, green beans

I did a little school clothes shopping at the outlets Sunday and bought some shoes, earrings, and shirts. I think I'm almost ready!

I'm doing a very strict version of carb counting, but this thread is really the only active carb thread, so mind if I join in?

I try and keep my net carbs below 20, and my calories below 1500.

Yesterday: 1020 cals, 14nc
Breakfast - skipped, queasy stomach
Lunch - 2 c burgoo
Dinner - no carb protein shake, 2 eggs, 2 slices bologna, 1tblsp butter

Morning all! Carol Sue I was shredding a giant zuke yesterday and was thinking about your frozen question. Did you drain well before using? Just a thought. I made zucchini brownies for hubs and his work mate last night and had a bite. Not bad I'm going to try some zoodles tonight with some pesto as a side to go along with our roast beef tonight. I so hope we like it.

I've shed another 0.8 lbs which is about what I was before NYC and my experiment. 2 lbs to go to be back to my all time low. It seems I've been cycling these two pounds over and over all summer. I hope I can break on through to the other side when school starts.

Have a good one ladies!

Talking

I am on a low to moderate carb plan being monitored by a dietician after having a Reshape gastric balloon installed 04/28/2016. 1000-1200 calories a day with 50 to 75 grams of carbohydrates per day. My husband loves to go out to eat, but I have managed to stay on track.

Welcome Dixie!

I tried the zoodles w/pesto tonight. Hubs really liked them, but I didn't really care for it. I can see eating them in a cold "pasta" salad though, since I like raw zuke in them anyway. I guess I'll be making chocolate zucchini bread this week to use up the other large one.

Break - 4 leftover grilled wings
Lunch - cup of Cinci chili w/oyster crackers (14)
Snack - 2 kiwis
Dinner - roast beef, zoodles w/macadamia nut pesto, oven fries

3 mile walk w/friend in the morning, mammogram tomorrow

Ate mexican tonight. Hardest type of food for me to stick to low carb. Love those chips and salsa and queso.

Breakfast - 2 fried bologna, 2 fried egg, 2tblsp butter
Lunch - 2c burgoo
Dinner - chicken fajita (no tortilla, no sides) couple of corn chips

Welcome to Dixie and Monte Cristo! Good to have some new posters.

PQ, I love zoodles with pesto, but I'm the only one who will eat it. Did you make your own pesto? I buy small jars of it at Aldi's. I've never tried it in a cold salad. My problem is that no one else eats this stuff, so it's hardly worth it for me to make it just for me and then have to make something else for him. It's just easier for me to eat around what he eats.

Evening everyone!

Carol Sue I made my own pesto, but my friend really likes what they sell at Aldi. I prob won't make them again even though hubs likes them. I'm the cook, so he eats what I like Plus, he likes just about everything I set up in front of him! He's not picky at all (unlike hubs #1). We had the rest of the pesto tonight.

1.6 lbs to go to get back to my personal best in my profile. I only update it when it gives down

Break - fried eggs/Irish butter, roast beef, slice of oat bread
Lunch - roast beef, 2 kiwis
Dinner - garden salad W/balsamic vinaigrette, linguine w/lemon pepper chicken and macadamia nut pesto

PQ, many times I wonder how women get these men who will eat whatever is put in front of them. DH is the worst. I think there are 5 foods on his steady menu, and I can usually predict what he will order anytime we go to a restaurant. I have learned to keep individual steaks in the freezer for a fast dinner for him on nights that I want to eat something he doesn't/won't eat. It works for us, and only takes a few minutes to prepare. He's happy, and I'm happy. He likes his meat well done, and they sell thin cut NY strip steaks at Walmart for a very good price.

Haven't had kiwis for a while. Will have to check out the carb count. That's one thing that both of us like.

Might be going to the casino today. It's all carb for me there, so it's all good. And it's a plus if I win!!

Monte, we would love to have you post here with us anytime. We welcome any and all food plans, and only request that you don't try to force yours on anyone else. We like to hear what each other is doing but each do our own thing.

Dennise, I hope you stick around, too. I would love to hear details about your gastric balloon if you're inclined to share.

Morning!

Question for everyone: has anyone tried Intermittent fasting 14:10 or 16:8? I'm not interested in the 5:2 or 24-hour stuff; I could never do it. I stumbled across a thread on MFP yesterday and realized that I've inadvertently been doing this for over a week, when I stopped my "experiment" and went back on plan. I shed another 0.8 lb overnight even after my large pasta and pesto dinner! I'm not complaining, but I'm questioning how that's possible. I've dropped all the "bonus" weight from NYC and my experiment plus a little. Could it be that I'm burning more fat in the 14-16 fasting hours? I tend to eat more protein early and add carbs to dinner, which is my daily food blowout. I plan on reading more about this, but it's difficult to find real research.

Thanks!
