Hi, Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for being MIA; things were crazy around the holidays. I am following the OP's plan and I really enjoy it. It seems to be the only plan that I can stick to and actually see results.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Breakfast- low carb protein shake
Lunch- Grilled chicken, bean and veggie salad
Dinner- burgers wrapped in lettuce, bean and veggie salad
Snacks- almonds, lots of water
Exercise- 45 minutes of walking (to and from work), 1 hour pilates class

How is everybody doing?

I am plodding on, and have now lost (re-lost) 8.4lbs since December 28th, just a day short of 3 weeks. I'm pleased with that.
I'm eating eggs, plain roast meat and veg, salads, a little cheese, some Greek yogurt, casseroled meats or fish. I do seem to be very sensitive to carbs: either even something "healthy" like oats for breakfast or brown rice with a casserole sucks in a lot of water and I get puffy ankles, or one taste of something more processed makes my cravings spike ~ I ate a small amount of pastry last week, and became virtually rabid for more and more carbs.

I'm trying to re-lose as much as I can as quickly as I can before the end of March, when I plan to visit the diabetes nurse. I should have gone in December but was too embarrassed. I can do this!

Good luck, everyone

Default I'm back!

Hi everyone!

I've read through the comments and hope all is doing well. Sorry to hear about your mum, Rosinante. I see Jacqui has not returned. . . I hope all is well with her and her family.

I gained a few "luxury" pounds over the holidays as hubs and I were both off work. We went to a lot restaurants and opened a lot of bottle of wines at the house! Today I was finally back down to my 133.8 ATL, so I thought I'd get back on here to try and get to my 130 lb goal.

Bro and mom was here and bro is doing really well, except his back surgery hasn't completed fixed his problem, but hopefully a solution is in the near future. Friend is doing well now after her double mastectomy and she didn't have to have chemo or radiation therapy.

Laters!

Just dipping in to see how folks are doing.

I've lost 11.8lbs in 4 weeks, which I'm pleased about.
I'm keeping my carbs under 100g, sometimes around 60-80g.
All the carbs are from fruit and veg, except on Wednesday and Saturday, which are my weigh-days, when I run mad and have oats for breakfast or rice for dinner. Living large! I'm very carb sensitive in the sense of them easily making me retain water, even the "good" carbs! Let alone if I try a "bad" carb, which just makes me want to eat a bucketful of dreadful carbs!!

Hello All how is everyone ...

Rosinante sad read of your Mom passing ... I with Carol Sue on all that she said. good job on the 79lbs

PrairieQueen glad your brother is doing well. Will he consider another surgery? or try physical therapy (forgive me if that's a stupid question) Yay on no radiation or chemo for your friend, glad she's doing well.

Motivated I need to get back on Jacqui's plan ... I did well but I can't do the free day ... it sends me back to day one every time

Hi love2b150

Hope you're well and doing ok.

Today's a weighday, and I've lost 14.3lbs since December 28th, which I'm very pleased about, just passed the British stone, which is a great milestone.

Big hugs and good luck to all of us

Hi Rosinante ... I'm doing well. on losing the stone

I got on the scale this morning as I typically do at the beginning of the month and I saw that horrible 9 I had hoped to never see again. I weighed in at 190.5. I'm gonna have to reign it in or it's gonna just get worse. I decided today was the last day for my Bojangles breakfast biscuit and I went to Speedway and actually passed up the yellow Hostess Zingers that I so love It's not much but it's a start ...

Today's meals were

B ~ coffee, caramel corn on the way in at 2am
..... at 6:30am~Bojangles bacon, egg, cheese biscuit, water about 8ozs
L ~ Burger king double cheese burger meal, small fry, diet Dr pep
D ~ 3 deviled eggs, 16oz water

this is just for accountability ... tomorrow will be much better ... I'm gonna try to post daily

So have been reading the slow carb diet thread....am on the 3rd one.....and decided enough is enough I would like to be part of this group to get motivation from you all.....and also help in any way I can.

I have been overweight most of my life. Successfully lost weight twice to regain it both times. I'm Indian so my menu will be slightly different from you all but not very much so.

I have been doing my version of low cal since last 3 days.....today is day 4 and have dropped 5lbs. All water am sure.

So in my version am trying to keep carbs below 100gms........no other food restrictions for now.

So if I decide to have rice on a certain day then I can have no high carb item for that day.

Hello and (back)! This thread has been very quiet for a while. I hope you keep posting. I follow a similar plan to the one that Jacquie described. Others may chime in. I'm not sure how to change your user name. You might try registering with a different email account. Good luck with your plan!

Fatmommy, I hope you're still posting so you see this. I think you can contact a monitor and request to have your user name changed, since you do have a good reason for it. I think they allow this one time, and they just change the name on your current account. Have your new name in mind when you message them about it. Good luck to you.

We want to have a username that makes us feel motivated!
