Evening all! Doing a drive -by tonight....
Break - chicken/cheese burrito Lunch - vegetable beef soup Dinner - beef fajita w/guac Snack - slice of choc/zuke bread |
Woohoo! I am back down to my low of 167! In the past 12 days, I've been in the 160's for 10 of them, including the last 8 in a row! :cloud9: Do I dare to hope my stall of the past two months is officially over and I am going to continue to lose, at a slower pace of course since I'm so close to goal, but still, to be in the 160's now and to continue going down from there? My mindset is that I "really" weigh 170 and I've just had lucky days that have been below that, but wow, I don't know. This kind of feels like my scale is on the move again! :crossed: That would be awesome! :trampo:
Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 1/16: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Protein bar Diet Dr. Pepper Snack: Protein bar Dinner: Leftover crockpot chili (2 bowls) Mio water Today's Exercise: 2-mile walk around the track at the gym |
Jacqui_D Congratulations for being in the 160s for 12 days. I'm sue you will make your goal. And that is great that you did the 2 mile walk at the Y.
Thank you ever so much for he Pep Talk. It came just at the right time. As I didn't follow yesterdays plan very well. I have to admit that I did fail last night. I do so well during the day. But today is a new day and I am back OP. I've decided to do more of a modified form of South Beach. I say modified because I do like bacon and I also do not do FF foods except with the Greek Yogurt. Not going to do CAD except maybe on the days DH and I go out to eat. I think doing a carby meal once a day really throws me off. Today's Plan B - eggs, bacon, cheese and kale L - steak and salad w/EVOO and ACV D - turkey and ham roll ups S - Choc Designer whey shake and walnuts Exercise: 3 miles on bike Hope everyone has a great day. |
Evening all! It looks like everyone is really in control here and starting the yeR off right. I'm just peddling along as usual getting excited about a three-day weekend. . . Hoping to get the hubs to take me to a new Mexican restaurant in a neighboring "city" that's getting rave reviews on Yelp.
I also ordered the latest craze amongst my friends, an instant pot. It's a 7-function cooking dream machine. . . It's supposed to be here Saturday. Today's menu... Break - McD's sausage burrito, ice tea w/stevia Lunch - beef fajita, no guac Dinner - pork chop, potatoes lyonnaise, salad Possible snack - pineapple slice. |
Hi! I'm doing a modified SCD:
-Allowed foods: Meat, fish, eggs, beans and lentils, all vegetables except potatoes, corn, carrots. -No dairy fruit or grains generally -Exceptions: dressings, marinades, etc. -I don't do a Carb day because I don't trust myself to get back on the wagon, but occasionally, I'll have cream in my coffee or some grains or a couple of hershey kisses (not every day though!). I started January 3 at 224 lbs. I ate some grains in the first few days while my body was adjusting but I kept it to 1/2 cup serving per meal. This morning, January 14, I was 213.6 lbs. One of the things that has kept me going is making a HUGE batch of the most delicious chili I've ever had. I use ground turkey instead of beef. It has onions, celery, green peppers, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, vinegar, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar (and it makes 12-14 servings so I don't think that's too bad). I make the chili and freeze 2/3 of it. It may sound strange, but I have this for breakfast every day. It's easy, tasty, and filling. I also have a habit tracker, and in the morning, I check it off for the day before if I've had a good day of eating within this limits. This little activity reminds me that I did well yesterday so it motivates me to have another good day. How do you stay motivated? Jacqui_D How long did it take you to get from 220 to under 200 when you started the Slow Carb diet? |
Oh I wanted to add. I haven't started exercising yet! I have Beach Body Insanity 30 min program so I'm going to start that, but for now I want to focus on my eating and not make too many changes at once.
|
Trish, thanks! :) Your menu for today looks really good! :hungry:
PrairieQueen, I am so jealous! I want an Instant Pot! I'm a huge fan of slow cookers and have 8 of them now of various sizes (all of which I get going for Christmas dinner) and that's after getting rid of 3 I rarely used when I recently rearranged my kitchen, lol! I did have 9 briefly because I got an Ohio State one for Christmas but I had to return it because the ceramic insert was cracked and they didn't have any more in stock. :( Needless to say, the Instant Pot is right up my alley and on my wish list, lol! :welcome2: UpandAway! You are doing phenomenally! :congrat: Chili is the best. I think it makes a great breakfast food, full of protein to start the day off right! But then, I eat a rather late breakfast, usually around 10 am, which is not far off from lunchtime. It might not taste so appetizing to me at 6 am, lol! I stay motivated by seeing and feeling the positive changes in my body and my energy level. Also, with my family history of diabetes, I am highly motivated to do what I can to avoid diabetes. That is actually my greatest motivating factor. When I was younger, I just wanted to be thin, but now, although seeing the numbers go down on the scale is fun, thin is not my priority. I really am doing it for my health now. And it took me 54 days to get below 200. :flow2: I think you are smart to take this journey one step at a time. I don't know how many times I tried to do everything at once and burnt out. (Until the Slow Carb Diet, I was a classic yo-yo dieter.) So I think focusing on your eating to begin is a smart move! |
Jacqui woot! Woot! On staying at 167.....that is fantastic:carrot: i can't wait to get to my goal.
Patty, Love, Rennie, SMF, Trish, Up hope life is treating you well :) Carol Sue it sounds like you get similar weather to ours just a day later/earlier. Today's yummies.... Break - McD's sausage burrito, ice tea w/stevia Lunch - veggie/beef soup Snack - skinny caramel latte Dinner - linguini w/macadamia nut pesto and chicken Snack - ??? |
Thanks PrairieQueen! It is pretty exciting to be this close to goal!
Hi Everybody! It was a very busy day for me. It must have been for y'all too! I miss all the chattiness that sometimes goes on in here! :gossip: EDITED TO ADD: Oh, I guess it's tomorrow! It's after midnight, lol! Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 167.5 1/16: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Protein bar Mio water Snack: Dinner: @ local sports grill with friends Large salad with chicken, craisins, and ranch dressing Water with lemon Hot black tea Today's Exercise: No time today |
Woohoo! I lost a lb overnight and weigh 166.5 today! :carrot: That is an unreal number to me! It's been a long time since I've been here! That means according to the BMI chart, I am only 2.5 lbs overweight! :yay: That's great news! The not-so-great news is now that I'm so close to normal weight and see where I am, I know even if I lose 2.5 lbs, I'm still overweight. It was a long time ago, but I was normal weight for years, and this is not it for me. The problem is I am medium-boned, not big-boned, and the BMI chart is not taking that into consideration. So this morning, I decided to do a little research and see what is considered the ideal weight for a medium-boned 5'8" woman. I found Fitness Magazine's website (http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/healt...hts-for-women/) and an article which showed me how to determine if I really am medium-boned, and I am. My elbow measurement is 2 3/8" and the ideal weight for someone my size is 132-147, which is exactly the range in which I used to fluctuate before RA and anti-depression meds helped me put on 50 lbs in 6 months. (The additional weight in the years after that, I take sole credit for, lol!) I no longer want to be on the low or even in the middle range of that. I want to have a little more (but still healthy) weight on me. I'm going to be 55 this year and, frankly, I think older women who are too thin look older than those with a little more meat on them, so I definitely want to be on the high end of "not overweight," lol! So, I am changing my goals to reflect this newfound information! My bonus goal now is going to be 147! (Wow!) :crossed:
Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: High 169.5, Low 166.5 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 167.5 1/16: 166.5 Carb Day Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Mint chocolate candy (lots) Diet Dr. Pepper Snack: Dinner: Pizza (lots) Mio water Today's Exercise: None today--stayed busy |
Way to go Jacqui! :) :) :) You've come such a long way! I have full confidence in you to reach your bonus goal!!
Today's weight: 214 (down .3 lbs from yesterday) I'm feeling kinda bored with my food. I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow so I have to think of ways to change things up and make it exciting but still easy to follow. Open to suggestions! |
Just got back from the Rusty Keg Tavern, and I'm so full even after bringing part of my food home. I'm sure I will pay tomorrow .... The scale is not going to be kind.
Break - chicken/cheese burrito, a Coke Life Lunch - Leftover chicken pasta Dinner - wings and part of fried appetizer sampler, lite beer |
upandaway42 I'm sorry I missed you joining us. WELCOME!!!
Jacqui_D CONGRATULATIONS!!! So great you are almost there. Great job!!! Just checking in. Still OP and all is going well. |
For the first time in a long time I stayed on plan the whole day yesterday! I usually start out good and screw up somewhere along the line. I hope to make this consecutive days.
Jacqui, congratulations on the great weigh-in. I'm so jealous, but you have stayed the course and earned it. Chili for breakfast. DH feels that certain foods should only be eaten at certain times of the day. I can eat any food at any time. Breakfast for dinner and vice versa. So how do you find your bone structure if you have so much fat you can't FEEL those 2 bones! LOL I did find them, and I am on the low end of medium boned. I will never weigh the recommend weight for my height, but I hope to get to the weight that I feel comfortable with. Prairie Queen, Rusty Keg Tavern sounds like it would be my kind of place. LOL If you enjoyed yourself that makes up for any indiscretions. UP, I tend to do much better with my food if I limit the variety. It makes it easier for me to stay on track if I eat the same foods over and over, things that I like and know are within my plan. This is actually one of the points of the Slow Carb diet. I don't follow that plan, but it is one of the things that help me. Trish, good for you finding a plan that is working for you. That's half the game. Hello to any newbies and missing indians. |
Okay, I am jumping in. Some of you already know me, to those who don't; Hi, I'am Sum or Kristiina.
I broke my back about a year ago, and it has been downhill since then. I have gained about 30 pounds. The back healed, but I have not been able to get OP. On the 15th of this month, I hit my all time high weight 173. It was a wake up call. Year ago, I was wearing size 6/8, today my 12's don't fit me, I do not own any clothing in size 14. -- Those who know me, know I am kinda of a clothes snob ;) So this is killing me. Therefore, I am starting with Whoe30. It is a paleo type of plan. The intial 30 days is quite strict, but it is just to jumpstart your healthy lifestyle. So hiiiii! Looking forward to chatting with everyone; and I LOVE to chat :D |
Plan for today:
Meals B-Fast ~ Egg "muffins' w/veggies and turkey Lunch ~ Salad w/baked chicken, veggies, applecider vinegar and olive oil for dressing Dinner ~ Zucchini pasta w/avocado sauce Snacks ~TBD Exercise Walk 4 miles Weights 30 min |
Jacqui that is fantastic! Hi Carol Sue, Sum, Patty, Up, Rennie, SMF and everyone else.
I can't seem to get motivated to get up off the day bed in my back "parkour." The fire is going, radio on, kitties next to me, and loads of seed catalogs to peruse. And it's snowing. As predicted, the scale was not kind this am to me and the hubs (he's decided he wants to improve his health as well). Ive been sucking sown the water, but I've been grazing and can't seem to get satisfied. I may have to eat those leftover wings soon! We'll see how long I hold out. |
Sum38I'm new here myself, but WELCOME back. Glad your back has healed. Sorry about the 30 lb gain, but I think under the circumstances, you did well keeping from gaining more. I don't know why it is so hard to get back on low carb once we get off as I've had a difficult time getting back on. Whole30 is a good plan. Not for as I knew I couldn't follow through. I know myself well enough not to even set myself up for failure for trying it. So I commend you for doing it.
While doing my modified version of South Beach Diet has become just SBD with no modifications. I have eased into Phase1 and I am really enjoying it. I don't eating high fat so I think that is why it is easier for me. I still eat bacon, but I cook it in microwave and have learned to cook it so that it has no fat when I'm ready to break it into my eggs. I don't eat it everyday as I've acquired a taste for the Canadian bacon. I'm enjoying learning to make up some of my own little low carb/lowfat combo snacks even desserts. Found one of FB using NSA fudgesicles, ricotta cheese and cool whip to make a dip of ice cream. I got home from the store and had forgotten to get the fudgesciles so I just added a Tbls of unsweetened cocoa to the other ingredients and ate it without freezing it. Weight is with ticker and blood sugar is coming down. P.Q. DH wanting to eat healthy will be helpful to you. I try to cook healthy because of my DH health issues he has had over the years. It actually helps me to keep trying to keep us both eating healthy. Perhaps it will help you too. Your snowy day sounds like a day to relax and stay warm. SMF, Jacqui_D, Carol Sue, Rennie and everyone. All of you in the cold and snow, stay safe and warm. |
Y'know, Jac, the walls around your track need some nice, big, colorful vacation posters...or some hunky men posters...let's objectify them for a change, huh?. Nah...kittens would be better...Goodness! Where do you keep all those slow cookers??...I was wondering if your goals would shift now that you've reached a new low...
 Sum and UpnAway! Your plan sounds similar to what I'm doing...focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables, staying away from processed and prepared foods and complex carbs. My plan is my own little experiment; plus daily exercise. I don't plan for cheat days, and like WBH, my meals tend to be the same things over and over. I've also adjusted my sleep/wake schedule and "close the kitchen" at 8pm. PQ..."Rusty Keg" tavern  Your day yesterday sounds like heaven...if only there were no jobs to worry about, and houses to clean, and kids to feed... PattyGirl--You Go! Stay on plan! Been feeling wiped out this weekend, and barely got my exercises done, but the RA meds started kicking in this afternoon, and I'm finally more energetic. I'm still having oatmeal for breakfast, but starting to get tired of it. Maybe I'll make an egg bake soon. I worry less about the carbs in the oatmeal and more about the high cholesterol that sometimes goes along with RA. Striving for a productive week. |
CW 168.2
Meals BFast ~ Sausage and butternut squash frittata Lunch ~ Tomato/avocado/onion/cucumber salad Dinner ~ Sweet Potato Hash with ground Beef Snacks ~ TBD Exercise 4 mile walk |
Yesterday was my second day in a row of staying on plan. I'm just taking it a day at a time. This morning I had a whoosh, back down to my ticker weight. Now to get that ticker moving lower!
Hi Kristina. I remember seeing you by recognizing your avatar picture. If you change that, I won't know it's you. LOL Pretty picture. Good luck with your new plan. I don't do any particular plan. I guess it's reduced carb. I try to eliminate starchy carbs, but do eat vegetables and a bit of fruit here and there. If I eat starchy carbs it's just a taste when I prepare it for DH. Right now I'm on this kick of making a salad and adding some tuna to it. |
Congrats Carol Sue!
Today's chow... Breakfast - pasta W/chicken & macadamia nut pesto Lunch - stuffed mushrooms Snack - green grapes Dinner - cheeseburger, French onion soup |
I went from 214 a couple days ago, to 215.1, and today 215.7. I've stalled for the past week and now am going up, even though I've been eating the same meals that brought my weight down from 224 at the beginning of the year. I had to look up what a whoosh was. I wish weight loss was linear! I'm so afraid I won't see the scale going down despite eating well and limiting my calories. I am expecting the TOM in a few days, and I do feel a tad bloated. I'll try to be more conscious of my water intake tomorrow.
SeeMyFeet I wish I had learned about the concept of "closing the kitchen" sooner. It helps me be on top of cleaning AND prevents me from snacking late at night. It's so simple but it works! Wannabehealthy I also find it easier to limit my variety but I think I get tired of eggs and egg whites. I just don't know what to do with them to make them interesting. |
Upandaway, it's normal to have fluctuations especially if you're expecting TOM. (Tell him I said hello and that I don't miss him one bit! LOL) I don't like to weigh every day because the fluctuations make me feel that I'm failing. Then there's some people who need that daily weigh in to stay on track. You just need to decide which category you are in.
|
Thanks, everyone! :grouphug:
Sum! I'm so glad you're back and joining us! You are on fire with your diet and exercise! :flame: Great job! Keep it up! That 30 lbs will back off in no time! :cp: Carol Sue, CONGRATS on consecutive days OP and on being back down to ticker weight! :woohoo: SeeMyFeet, I agree, kitties would be better, lol! I would be quite entertained if they would have posters of cats up around the track. :) I have been so busy, I haven't had a chance to get back to the gym, but I'll get there when I can! :exercise: The crockpots are all in the bottom of my kitchen cupboard. It's like working a puzzle, lol! PrairieQueen, The Crown Room of The Rusty Keg is where my daughter had her rehearsal dinner. Good food! :hungry: UpandAway, oh yes, stalls and fluctuations can certainly be frustrating. What I do is just try to focus on how much sweeter the reward is when they straighten back out! :sunny: Hopefully you'll get a nice whoosh once TOM leaves! :goodluck: Oh, btw, I think this is a really good website for recipes: http://www.sugarfreelikeme.com/2013/...ini-chips.html. (I bookmarked it at the zucchini chips, lol, but if you click on the menu at the left, it will lead you to more recipes.) Trish, I'm so glad SBD is working for you! :carrot: The foods you're describing sound tasty! :hungry: Hi Rennie, how's it been going after Consecration? Well, I hope! :crossed: Mars, still missing you! Is your schedule going to slow down anytime soon? :?: I ate so much on Carb Day, so I was so surprised to be only a half lb up yesterday! :dancer: Today, I was back down to 166.5, which is awesome! :spin: Tomorrow, I expect to be up again. I stayed so busy today and didn't get home until 7:30, at which time I started making chili. So not only did I eat later than I like, but I ate 2 huge bowls of chili, and I am stuffed! :stir: My DH and I just can't seem to stay away from buying and selling antiques! After we closed our shop because it took up too much of our time, we sold off most of our antiques and said we were going to stop for good, and we can't stop! It's like an addiction! Lol! We just opened up a booth in an antique mall here in town, so now we are on the go, either buying, picking up, organizing, rearranging the booth, or taking other things to auction. At least with a booth, we don't always have to be there. That got to be WAY too much. This way, it's fun again. Still, I was on my feet for so long today, my feet and knees hurt! :dizzy: Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: High 169.5, Low 166.5 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 167.5 1/16: 166.5 Carb Day Week 36: 1/17: 167.5 1/18: 166.5 1/19: 1/20: 1/21: 1/22: 1/23: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Protein bar Water Snack: Dinner: Chili Mio water Today's Exercise: None today--stayed busy |
Morning all! Another 2-hr delay for me due the wind chill. Thankfully, we were told last night.
Jacqui I saw the room...they had the dour open and lit...maybe getting ready for an event. I saw the mileage sign for your town...I didn't realize WCH was halfway between! I had too many crap carbs all weekend and my weight is up. I've got some tea and very few floury carbs on the menu today to "release" some of this water. My face looks puffy as well (allergic to a soap I just got, yay.) Stay warm and have a great day! |
I woke up with a half swollen face. -- I cooked with coconut oil last night; about a month ago I had cooked with coconut milk, and the same thing happened... I will test coconut again in about a month to see if I am allergic to it. It would be a shame since it is supposed to be great what comes to dieting...
Plan for today: Meals BFast ~ Egg muffins w/loads of veggies and some bacon Lunch ~ Big salad w/baked chicken breast, skinless. Apple cider & olive oil as dressing Dinner ~ Zucchini-ground chicken burgers on tomato as a bun, lettuce, avocado and onion; baked (homemade) sweet potato fries Snacks ~ TBD (nuts like almonds, most likely or cucumber "sandwiches"; between cucumber slices; tomato, avocado and some lunchmeat) Exercise Walk ~ It is VERY cold and windy here; don't know how long I can stay outdoors. Gym ~ Lift weights for 30 min. Walk there (1.2 miles) and back. Weight 167.4 |
I remember you from your avi too, Wannabehealthy. I guess we can never change them. :D
upandaway42; TOM always adds 3-5 pounds for me, and ovulation at least for 2. But then the glorious whoosh happens  Hang in there! Jacqui; Where do you buy your stuff from? PrairieQueen; I made this detox tea, and it works wonders...Dandelion root tea, cranberry juice (just cranberry juice, no sugar... I buy it from whole foods) and squeeze some lemon in it. I drink it cold. I make 64oz and drink it in a day, and swelling leaves so fast! |
I am calling yesterday day 3 of staying on plan. I did have some brown rice, but not a lot and don't consider that as falling-off-the-wagon. I was reading a book yesterday and it said that day 4 of a new diet/food plan will make you or break you. That's when your body starts to react to the change in foods and it causes some people to throw in the towel. I have noticed that myself in the past. If you can stick with it through that change, you can continue on. I'm going to make it through day 4 today.
Kristina, where do you get your dandelion root tea? I would like to try that. I tend to drink a lot of tea rather than water in the winter with our cold weather. I wonder if I could switch to hot lemon water since it's so cold here. I wake up with a swollen face once in a while and I always figure I'm just retaining fluid. Never thought about allergies. You're doing great with your exercise and walking to and from the gym is a very good idea. What is your temperature like today? It's only 11 degrees here and the high is going to be 17. Yikes! I definitely would not be walking outside today. LOL Jacqui, the antiques are in your blood, I think. You just can't get away from them. DH collected records for years. Vinyl 45's mostly. He had thousands of them. Finally one day he felt that the market was dying out for them and he sold the whole collection. Now he sees some occasionally at Goodwill and has started buying them again. I don't mind a few here and there but I sure hope he doesn't get back to where he was before. I am trying so hard to downsize our "stuff." I don't need him adding to it again. But he enjoys it and there are worse things he could be doing. |
Wanna; I buy it from Whole foods, but I have seen it at Walmart etc as well.
|
Bro update: one week in rehab ..... Gets around well with walker, still can't swallow but doing therapy for that. I couldn't understand the details (mumbly) and didn't want to ask him to repeat. Possibly going home after 24th if all his blood tests, etc. come back okay. We'll see. He's quite depressed right now which I know is normal, esp. since it's been 7 weeks since he's eaten (8 weeks hospitalized).
Today's choices... Break - 1/2 salami cheese sandwich Lunch - bunless cheeseburger Dinner -BLT wrap, cup of black bean chili, Saratoga chips |
So happy I'm still hanging in with my OP eating. When I do have starchy carbs it is a very small portion, like 2 forkfuls, and that is part of my plan...not to eliminate, but also not to go overboard. Not setting any weight loss records, but haven't been back over 200 in a while. That's success for me. Now to work on exercise and water.
Prairie Queen, I think DB will be happy to be home. I can understand the depression over not being able to eat. Hopefully it will come gradually and he will get back to his old self. It's amazing how far he's come. Kristina, I will look in Walmart. I have never been to Whole Foods. It's a bit of a drive for me, in a direction we never go. |
My body is off somehow. I drank and drank (TMI) and barely nothing came out. My face is still swollen. Somehow my body is hanging on to the water I am giving it. There must be a reason. So this morning I am starting my day with a tea that is called Detox tea, splashed a bit of cranberry juice and lemon in it. -- I have basically given up coffee. I get about a cup per week as a treat. I usually drink Green tea in the mornings.
I did not make it to the gym, yesterday. So I need to remedy that today. Plan: Meals Bfast ~ Eggs, tomato slices, 2 sausage patties Lunch ~ Big Salad w/tuna Dinner ~ Prime rib, sweet potato fries, asparagus, salad. Snacks ~ TBD Exercise Walk ~ 4 miles Gym ~ Weights Weight 168.4 |
There are so many things that can cause fluid retention it's hard to say what this could be. I say just continue drinking the fluids and watch sodium and carbs. Exercise will help, too.
I love salad with tuna!!! |
Carol Sue way to go staying on plan. After this past weekend and last night, I really need to stay focused for awhile :)
Jacqui I had a snow day today and the UPS lady delivered my Instant Pot! I made Mongolian Beef from a recipe I tweaked from a pressure cooking website. It was do good and only took 12 minutes to turn tough (but lean) round steak into something fabulous. Sum I'm going to look for that tea. I actually have some unsweetened cran juice (got a Ollies discounted...great place to find bargain food like ices, teas, etc.) Rennie, SMF, Patty hey there. Today's menu... Break - 1/2 salami sandwich Snack - white grapes Lunch - salami/cheese wrap Dinner - Mongolian beef, brown rice, carrots/broccoli |
Oh my goodness, PrairieQueen and Sum! How bizarre that both of you had swollen faces from allergies! :dizzy:
PrairieQueen, we lived there before here. That's my DH's hometown and his family is still there. :) That's great news that your DB may be going home soon! I can imagine that he is depressed. I'm sure he misses eating a good meal. He'll get there, and hopefully sooner than later! :crossed: I'm glad you were off school today. I had to go to Lancaster to the dentist (I had to have my molar pulled that was next to my wisdom tooth I had pulled a while back! :( ), and there was a wreck, drawing a fire engine, a police car, and an ambulance to the scene, and that was a straight stretch of road! I am SO jealous of your Instant Pot! My birthday is in a few months. I may have to put my request in early, lol! Sum, we buy things from auctions, flea markets, private sellers, and oddly enough, other antique shops. Keep up the great work on your meals and exercise! It's paying off! :cp: I'm glad you are staying on top of your water input and output. If you are allergic to coconut, maybe your body just needs to hold on to the water for a little longer to help fight the negative effects of the coconut oil you consumed. Carol Sue, :congrat: on making it through day 4 OP! Yay! And how wonderful that your 190's are sticking! It looks like both of us may have turned a corner, so let's keep going! We can do it! :cheer: You are really doing so great! It looks like your new plan is a good fit! :broc: As I suspected I would be, I was up on the scale yesterday. Fortunately, I dropped that water weight just as quickly and I was back down to 166.5 today! :carrot: As I mentioned to PrairieQueen I had to have a tooth pulled today, and food has been light since 10 am, so it will be interesting to see if it makes a difference on the scale tomorrow! C'mon scale! Make it worth it, lol! :goodscale: Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: High 169.5, Low 166.5 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 167.5 1/16: 166.5 Carb Day Week 36: 1/17: 167.5 1/18: 166.5 1/19: 168 1/20: 166.5 1/21: 1/22: 1/23: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Protein bar Water Snack: Protein bar Dinner: Turkey Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Today's Exercise: None |
DH used to have kidney problems and we used to buy unsweetened cranberry juice concentrate at GNC. He likes everything sweet and he said it was terrible but it took care of his problem.
I went a little off plan this evening but I'm calling it an indescretion as I jumped right back on plan right away. LOL |
Carol Sue, great job not letting your indiscretion derail you! Way to go jumping right back on plan! :high: I occasionally get bladder infections and whenever I start to feel one coming on, I run out and get cranberry juice. LOTS of it! I don't get the unsweetened type, although I know that is best, so I also have the option of drinking cranapple or crangrape, 2 flavors I like even better. Sometimes I have stopped the infection in its tracks. Other times I at least kept it at bay until I could get to the doctor.
So yesterday after breakfast, because of my pulled tooth, I ate "easy" things (a protein bar for lunch, a little turkey and yogurt for dinner, and in between another protein bar as a snack). It wasn't a lot, but it was filling, and today I weigh 165.5! I can't believe I am this close to goal!!! :carrot: (Even more incredible, I never thought I'd see this number again!) :spin: Edited to Add: Oh wow, 166 won't even show up on my ticker because it's too close to 164. How exciting! :jig: Week 34: High 170.5, Low 167 1/3--169.5 1/4--169.5 1/5--170.5 1/6--170 1/7--169 1/8--167.5 1/9--167 Carb Day Week 35: High 169.5, Low 166.5 1/10: 169.5 1/11: 168.5 1/12: 168 1/13: 168 1/14: 167 1/15: 167.5 1/16: 166.5 Carb Day Week 36: 1/17: 167.5 1/18: 166.5 1/19: 168 1/20: 166.5 1/21: 165.5 1/22: 1/23: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Protein Bar Mio water Snack: Pecans Dinner: Protein bar Fage yogurt with Mio Diet Dr. Pepper Late-Night Snack: Pecans Today's Exercise: None |
That is very exciting, Jacqui! Do you think you might lower your goal or are you happy with this one? I don't know how low you might want to go with your height.
It's amazing that you have had such a steady loss thoughout this. Good job! I buy Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Juice Cocktail. It is only 5 calories per glass and much better for my diabetes than the regular. I don't drink it on a daily basis, though. It's good with a shot of vodka, too. hee hee I like it, even though it is not just straight cranberry juice. |
Still swollen....
