ZCA, so sorry to hear about the mess with the RV. Glad you weren't far from home when it happened. After all that planning!!

As far as I know, there will be no junk at our Easter Dinner, so I'm safe! LOL The only junk will be in my grandson's Easter Basket, and he's not going to be sharing!!!

Jacqui, yes, I know why you do your mother henning and Rennie knows it, too. Just teasing, once again. Unfortunately, I disagree with you than she can reverse her diabetes. I firmly believe that once a diabetic, always a diabetic. You can get it under tight control and keep it under control, but you will never be able to go back to eating carbs, so it's not really gone. But I am not an authority on this. I know others disagree with me.

Jacqui_D 03-25-2016 10:22 AM

Carol Sue, yes, I agree with you. I don't think you can actually reverse diabetes. I probably shouldn't use the word "reverse." What I mean is that you can manage it to a point that it is doesn't cause damage when otherwise it would. But yeah, I think once you are diabetic, you always have to watch carbs.

PrairieQueen, lucky you! have fun in the warm Florida sun! I hope you enjoy your visit! :sunny:

ZCA72, oh my goodness! I'm glad no one was hurt! Tire blow outs are so scary and so dangerous! :fr: Oh I was a terrible yo-yo dieter all my life. I'm glad to be off the rollercoaster! :cp:

I'm down half a lb today! Still need to exercise. :exercise: Back down to the river to sign papers now. Have a great day everyone!

thanks guys, the accident mess is being handled. happy to have the insurance to handle that LOL

Jacqui, yes, the yo yo train is a miserable place to be. happy you are off that track also!!

one thing I did on this last attempt to get it right and make an eating change for life was commit 1000% percent this time.
it worked, I am doing it cause I just can not do this again. I do not have it in me to gain back, lose again. Nope. this I knew was my biggest last attempt to change me and I did it and continue to do it. No more excuses or anything. I am done with that and off the yo yo express and am never going back.

-----food today was simple
bacon cheese omelet
ribeye
2 pork chops

stuffed and happy. on plan 100% and happy to say I got thru my day as I committed and no going back ever to the old eating lifestyle. I fought hard to be here and I am enjoying the best of it which is I feel so darn good :)

allergies again are nailing me so waiting to get thru this season as usual. the pollen is crazy as usual but I get thru. wish my eyes weren't so watery, I can barely see typing this LOL

everyone have a fine night!~

PrairieQueen 03-26-2016 07:53 AM

ZCA glad everyone is okay! That is always my biggest fear when we take our little R-pod teardrop out. It's quite small (2000 lbs dry), but it still a worry. We haven't had it out in two years because of hubs hip surgeries and our other trips. But its coming out this summer.

I'm in Florida now and it was so humid last night. My hair was a frizz ball by bedtime (I arrived at 7 pm). But I'll take it. I was 37 degrees when I left for the airport in Ohio.

Break - 1/2 serving bourbon chicken
Snack - piece of turkey pepperoni pizza
Lunch - bun less hot dog, Saratoga chips
Dinner - 6-in subway club w/ reg mustard
Snack - bud 55 by the pool

ZCA72 03-26-2016 08:25 AM

Oh, the R-pod teardrop. so cute. I would love to have one just to have one LOL but I can't 'collect' rvs. can't afford that :)

florida. ah you lucky dog. bet your warm sunshine is wonderful. up here in NC we are covered in pollen. weather is finally coming around to carolina blue skies and warmth! Do you have a second home there?

---hi all
doing great. no kidding my plan makes me feel wonderful. cut off my head from the allergies and I would be perfect! but sadly those allergies are dragging me down again, so much pollen. but it will pass as usual.

1/2 roasted chicken
ribeye with butter later

not hungry. will eat usual times. 11 or so and then 3 or so and be done for the day.

falling into a great pattern now. all is good.

have to load the fell tree in the yard. big boy. guy wants it for firewood. older neighbor of my MIL. we will load and bring to him. guy needs help and we are happy to do it for him. alot of heavy work today...that will be my exercise :)

other usual chores etc. and sunny and nice out so just one of those do this and that day and enjoy it.

Jacqui_D 03-26-2016 01:19 PM

Yikes! Rennie should be getting on me about junk food, lol! We went down to the river yesterday to sign papers with our ex-renter and of course as our luck goes with that house, the court house closed at noon for Good Friday and we didn't get to file them. DH will go back next week to do that. But we ate at McD's on the way down (mistake 1). I took Diet Dr. Pepper with me instead of water (mistake 2). We stayed there and hit an auction across the river in KY and by the time we started on our way home, the only thing open was McD's drive-thru so we got McD's food again (mistake 3). Needless to say I am up a lb today! Ugh, not what I want before Easter Carb Day. Oh well! I'm going to enjoy Easter and get back to business on Monday!

PrairieQueen, I'll gladly trade my winter coat for your frizzy hair, lol! :D

ZCA72, sorry to hear about your allergies! :getwell: My younger brother and I were born in NC, and when he was young, he was allergic to pine needles and, of course, it's impossible to escape pine needs in NC, lol! Lucky for him, we moved to TN when he was 6 and that made life a little easier for him.

ZCA my mom and step dad live there year round. I don't think I could live there year round (or even part time). It's not my fave place but wanted to spend some time with my bro (he lives there temporarily).

Caught some sun today after shopping .... I had no shorts that fit.

Break - 6" subway club
Lunch - prosciutto panino
Snack - kettle chips
Dinner - wings and bud 55

Tomorrow its water all day, no alcohol!

ZCA72 03-27-2016 07:04 AM

Jacqui, oh yes the pine needles are everywhere :) I am from NJ and never had an allergy like this. this NC pollen is just too much for my little old head to handle. but rain today and that should help. I love when the rain washes the pollen off everything but we actually get rivers of pollen just pooling up after. wild.

PQ, oh this is a visit to mom. sounds like fun!

you have me laughing....wondering about this lunch of yours: Lunch - prosciutto pain is

hmm....HA

Happy Easter everyone.
easy day. rain to help the air quality out there and wash things clean.
inside chores and a little of this and that.
nothing major today. no big family Easter thing this year.
probably run over to Moms today to visit a bit. my Bro is there for a few days staying
with her so we all can visit a little.

tuna and mayo for lunch
ribeye for dinner

have a fun day all!!

Wannabehealthy 03-28-2016 09:04 AM

Had a very nice Easter of good food, but too much. I will not weigh. It is water weight and will give it time to flush out before I get on the scale again.

Hope everyone enjoyed their family time.

PrairieQueen 03-28-2016 10:23 AM

Morning all! We had a nice Easter dinner as well....I cooked it :) I made au gratin potatoes as a treat for me, so I'm glad there are no scales around. My 98-yr-old grandpa and his 94-yr-old friend were two of the seven dining! They both fixed their own plates and chatted about the old days until 10 pm :)

Yesterday's menu....

Break - 4 prosciutto rolls
Snack - gala Apple
Lunch - chicken gumbo soup
Dinner - ham, au gratin potatoes, roasted carrots

pattygirl63 03-28-2016 11:04 AM

Hi girls!!! Busy day today, but checking in really quick to say that I would love to be a part of this group again. I've got my head around my moderately low carb way of eating and would love to come back so we can encourage each other. Took me a while to get to the point that this is a lifestyle change not a diet to get things straight and go back to the old ways of eating.

I'll be reading to catch up this evening and then start posting again. Y'all have a great day.

Jacqui_D 03-28-2016 02:11 PM

Hi Trish! Glad you're back! :cp:

Carol Sue and PrairieQueen, I should have stayed off the scale! Oy! :faint:

ZCA72, I'm glad you got to visit your mom and bro yesterday even if you didn't have a big family to-do.

Rennie, where are you? :?: How was your Easter?

Okay, I really have to get back to business on my diet now. I am up to 176.5 today and that is 2.5 lbs over the high end of what I am allowing myself for maintenance, so no more fooling around! :kickbutt: I don't think I'll be getting out to exercise today though. I had a really rough night of sleep. It stormed so I kept waking up, my back is out of alignment and that made me toss and turn, my cats were upset by the storm and were crawling all over me so they kept waking me up. Today my back is all crooked and my joints are aching. With the news of the scale, let's just say I'm not having a fun day, lol!

Evening everyone! Jacqui sorry to hear about the rough night and the gain. It won't take longt to o shake off the extra pounds now that things are somewhat normal in your life. I haven't been sleeping well at my moms....she stays up too late with the TV blaring and the ac is never low enough for me. Last night was a little better and I only woke up a few times with one bathroom visit. And your poor kitties....

Today we went to the Edison-Ford estate and museum, skipped lunch, and cooked Tuscan chicken/pasta for dinner. Tomorrow night we are going out for Mexican :) I'm not really enjoying myself and kind of feel like I've wasted my break. It will not happen again. Bro stays up half night and sleeps all day. At least I know I'm taking an awesome trip at end of May.

Break - 2 fried eggs, ham
Snack - gala Apple
Dinner - Tuscan chicken pasta

Wannabehealthy 03-29-2016 01:09 PM

Jacqui, sorry to hear of your achiness and weight gain. It will go back down. It was a holiday!

PQ I'm sorry your trip isn't going as well as you'd like but I think it's good that you got to see your mother and brother. I hope he's recovering nicely.

I'm still avoiding the scale, but back on track today.

Jacqui_D 03-29-2016 11:27 PM

Thanks PrairieQueen and Carol Sue. I missed getting on the scale this morning and that just kind of threw me off all day. I had my usual breakfast but I skipped lunch and then had a couple of protein bars later and nuts (oops! you know how that goes!) and then chicken wings and pepperoni topped with melted mozzarella cheese for dinner. I didn't drink enough water, too much Diet Dr. Pepper. I don't know what's wrong with me! I want to get back on track but it's like I am not mentally there. My RA is really acting and that doesn't help. It makes me want to eat comfort food and comfort Diet Dr. Pepper, lol, yet that comfort food and drink I think contributes to the symptoms! It's a Catch-22! Oh well! Tomorrow's another day! Hopefully I'll get with it! :crossed:

pattygirl63 03-29-2016 11:39 PM

Jacqui Thanks for the welcome back. Hope you feel better soon. No fun feeling achy.

PQ I have thought of your brother and wondered how he is doing. Sound like he is with your parents now. Sorry your trip wasn't what you expected.

ZCA I don't think I could do just protein, but I've heard of people that do very well eating that way. I have to ay that your ribeye and pork chops sounds really good.

Carol Sue and Jacqui Your conversation about reversing/controlling blood sugar was interesting. I agree. I have had the blood sugar under control a couple of times only to go back to my old ways of eating and experience diabetes again.

I know that VLC corrects diabetes and pretty quickly, but that is not going to happen with me. I recently read a book about a man who got his diabetes under control by eating moderately low carb. He says you have to realize that a diabetic has 2 choices find out what you have to do to correct and control it and avoid the problems or keep eating the way that got you here. I decided that I can live with MLC as a lifestyle. Then I remembered you guys here and I also decided to come back.

I did eat whatever I wanted during the holiday weekend, but this is my 2nd day of eating OP. I am ready for this and I am determined to stick with it this time. Y'all know I've been to this point before, so I hope I will be able to do a better job this time. But I think the things I've been learning from the books I'm reading about blood sugar is enough to convince me that there is no other way to control it.

ZCA72 03-30-2016 07:51 AM

Hi Patty
yea it takes a true 100% meat hound to handle a ZC plan :) :) I just happen to love my meats so much I am the type of person that can do this plan. many want more variety and need it, I fall into the ZC eating very easily. Just keep finding that plan that works best for you!!

Jacqui....having troubles with your menu? craving comfort foods? OK---what you do---sit down and write the most decadent, delish, absolutely wonderful LC meals you love to the max!! All the super duper in love with foods you 'used for weight loss mode' and get them in a list and go shopping and make those foods. Treat yourself to every single top of the line LC meals you love!! It matters. It might be you got in a LC rut in a way. you know, kinda not finding those 'go to great meals' you once would kill for and enjoyed so much. EAT THOSE meals now. It just refreshes your whole mind in that, I love my LC foods. I want this way of eating. I am back on track! and by giving yourself the BEST meals you love with LC is the way to drag you back into line. (THAT IS what I had to do when I was in a rut and just in that stagnating zone. To me it is all about the food, so I started eating every single best food I loved on plan and in a few days, I was mentally right back on plan with a big old smile on my face) :) JUST a suggestion for you! you never know what snippet of info from another might help.

-----
HI ALL
fast post and getting moving for the day here early

simple day here. kiddo and I are off to moms for a visit. she wants to hit Kmart, uh, hmm, ok, she needs slippers.
then probably stop somewhere for a bite. I am eating big ribeye before I go. I don't want whatever food place we stop. they can eat, I will get an unsweet tea and chat.
Making this an easy relaxing day. nothing big happening which is fine by me.

I am ZC and loving my food and loving the slimmer me!!

Day by day my attitude toward food is changing so much it is spooky in a way. the other day I didn't even want to cook for the family. I have NO 'interest around food' which is huge and I want nothing to do with meals anymore. I want my 2 meat meals and then KEEP ME the heck away from food. but of course I have to feed them LOL and I have to say it is nasty now. I have no use for cooking and being in the kitchen more. So family is getting speed meals...not the old big ones I used to cook, they are being changed by me in how they eat, which is a good thing tho. healthy and smaller meals and it keeps me out of the kitchen mostly.

I changed shopping also a bit. ALL I want is to hit the meat dept, get my meats and leave!! but noooo...I have to carb shop for the carb crunchers in the house. Used to wander and check out new stuff and try it on them, search the aisles etc....now I make a very small list of what junk I need for them....make a b-line straight for it and out I go.

anyone mentions going out to eat and I cringe. I hate eating out anymore. I have 0 interest in it. whereas before I loved it. now it is a noose around my neck I don't even want to do anymore...which is ok. I have other interests. I would rather go hike a mountain trail and enjoy myself then sit at a greasy spoon diner over lunch.
Even my good restaurants, like my fav expensive steakhouse I loved. Why go there and get a $35 ribeye when I can eat the same thing at home for $7 I mean really? I can linger over a fun date with hubby going to say, a botanical garden and wander at night with the fairy lights and all and not have to be forced to sit and eat.....of course hubby would opt to sit at the steakhouse instead of a botanical garden any old day --HAHA....in that I can find a zillion things to do without food involved now.

believe me I am changing into a way different type of person than what I was. And I love the new me!
now I just have to streamline the meals and shopping and more to fit the new me. I can do it and still smile about cooking and shopping I hope

just interesting I am changing so much. Sure surprises me but I like everything about it! It used to take a mountain to change me. I was so set in my routine and life that any change I hated...now I am so different toward so much stuff in my life with my new way of eating. I don't know, just surprised the heck out of me but I am happy so that is all that matters. I have great new changes out of the new me!

everyone have a fab Wednesday and enjoy the day!!

pattygirl63 03-30-2016 02:25 PM

ZCA Thanks for the encouraging word. Also I love the advice you just gave Jacqui which also spoke to me.

I too love meat, but I also love veggies especially salad veggies and a few fruits. I'm working to get my glucose under control right now so the fruit has to be very little. However, I can totally do low carb with salads. I usually have a salad at lunch time with EVOO and ACV or Mayonnaise that has no sugar. In the evening, I like some kind of meat with what I call a finger salad w/wo any salad dressing depending on my mood.

We are moving to TX this summer and I'm in the process of making this way of eat a lifestyle and I want to get my blood sugar under control before I have to meet a new doctor. So I really appreciate you sharing you journey and the advice you gave Jacqui and am going to take your ideas and make my own MLC meal plans according to the foods that I like. I can see that if I make this "my" plan that it has a better chance of becoming a successful health plan I can live with the rest of my life.

Today's plan

Breakfast
2 eggs, 2 sl bacon, 2 sl 45 calorie MG toast w/butter and coffee w/Splenda and 1/2 & 1/2

Lunch
boneless pork ribs and salad w/mayonnaise and a touch of Lite Ranch dressing for taste

Dinner
2 eggs, 2 sl Canadian bacon and 1 sl 2% American cheese

I've got 2 OP days behind me and made up my mind that today I going to be even better. I've heard the 3rd day is the toughest, but I decided this morning that it DOES NOT HAVE to be. So I expect today to be a great OP day.

Edited: To change food plan to what I actually ate. Didn't eat all the food I had planned. YAY!!! I had an extremely great OP day.

PrairieQueen 03-30-2016 07:57 PM

Evening all! My last night in Florida then mom and bro are at my house Sunday - Thursday. Mom has business and bro is riding along. We went to a flea market this morn and Chinese takeout tonight. I hope Friday's weigh in is not too ugly.

Break - one fried egg
Lunch - 6" subway steak/cheese sub
Dinner - four Chinese garlic wings and small Kung pao chicken (I threw 1/3 of it out....it was good but didnt want to be miserable)
Lots of water

ZCA72 03-31-2016 09:20 AM

patty, good for you. on plan is the best place you can be for BS control.

fruit is nasty. just a sugar dump. you might want to really think about ditching it. of course if you want some in plan I understand, it is what works for you.

and you got that right----you make a meal list that suits you perfectly! that is the key to making this work. eat what is important to you and your health and fit it into your day.

I can't do 'pre-planned' diets. like WW or Jenny...eat this packaged junky food and you will be thin. Nope that ain't happening LOL so it is up to me to make my own plan that fits me, 100%!

HI ALL
just cruising along
feel great
on plan 100%
have 2 ribeyes for food today. yum

I have some decadent crab legs calling my name in the freezer.

it might be a surf and turf day for me, hmm, not sure yet but sounding good.

cloudy, rain coming but I have outside time to get a few things done.
nothing major happening. just enjoying sipping hot tea and slowly waking up to this day.

everyone have a great day!!

Jacqui_D 04-01-2016 09:07 AM

Hey all, I took an unexpected trip to Indiana! My daughter lives here and she ended up in the hospital so of course I drove right over. She's had a time of it in the last couple of weeks. She had an ovarian cyst burst, she was diagnosed with Hasimoto Thyroiditis just this week, she's been having episodes with her hypoglycemia, and she ended up in the hospital because yesterday at work they thought she had a mild heart attack! The tests pointed to her esophagus rather than her heart though. Thank God! She's only 26 years old! She happens to work with doctors and nurses, and since Hasimoto's can affect the heart and her symptoms were all like a mild heart attack, they weren't taking any chances. I will be driving back home tomorrow so I won't be able to get back on tomorrow morning, but maybe tomorrow night. If not then, then on Sunday. Needless to say, I'm a bit of a nervous wreck!

Wannabehealthy 04-01-2016 09:55 AM

Glad to hear your daughter didn't have a heart attack, Jacqui. She's had a lot going on lately. Hope she's doing better, soon!

PrairieQueen 04-01-2016 10:03 AM

Oh Jacqui! I'm so glad DD is okay. What a heart-wrenching time you've had. And your poor daughter to have to go through that. She's the same age as mine...I can't imagine. Thank goodness it wasn't her heart.

Back home yesterday afternoon....what a relief. I've been cleaning and cooking ever since, but that was the plan. I started doing laundry last night and it's still going....spare beds had to be stripped and prepared plus my winter linens needed washed and put away. Hubs did a great job with the fur babies and keeping up with the house... Kitchen was in great shape. My weight was up a half pound this morn but I know it's water weight from flying.

Break - 6" steak/cheese sub
Lunch - two small soft tacos from Salsaritas (w/guacamole)
Dinner - 2/3 porterhouse steak, oven fries, green beans

ZCA72 04-01-2016 01:19 PM

WOW Jacqui I feel so sorry she is going thru all those troubles. I sure hope everything falls into place for her and she is on the mend.
Yes I sure understand you being a nervous wreck!! I would be also. when it comes to our kids, right? :) I hope all is ok now!

HI ALL
easy day. got sinus troubles. this storm system has my head in a fog along with the allergies, but right now it is a normal thing for me. season moves on and I improve. but the woozey/light-headed clogged head gets me all the time will live tho

tummy seems off today. which is extremely rare for me. I ate about 8 slices bacon and was going to have some eggs but passed on those cause my tummy went into icky mode. huh. haven't had bacon in a bit. I don't know if that is it or if it is just whatever?? no biggie, not in a bad way and the nice thing is I have 0 interest in food so maybe a ribeye later tonight? I do have some hamburger, so maybe a few cheeesburgers?
eh, whatever whenever

everyone enjoy the day!

I feel so good. I can't actually put into words how my body feels. It feels so alive and in tune and like has an energy about it now. I can't explain it really but it is so far from my old carb coma days of eating feeling sluggy, bloaty and all that. I am just in a wonderful place on my plan! just want to yell about it LOL

everyone have a fine weekend!

Jacqui Sorry to hear you DD is going through so much. Glad it wasn't a heart attack. Prayers coming your way.

ZCA I'm following more of a Paleo type of plan so I do plan to eat some fruit. I'm so glad you have found what works for you.

I made a big salad with steak cut up in it for dinner and itt filled me up so quickly and I could not eat it all so will have that for dinner tomorrow night.

Have a good weekend.

Wannabehealthy 04-03-2016 08:08 AM

Trish, I had a big steak salad at Texas Roadhouse last night and could not finish it. If it's too wilted to eat today I will make more salad myself and just heat up the steak. The steak was delicious! I forgot to tell them to hold the steak fries but I picked them out and left them. I never liked fries much anyway.

ZCA I was starting to buy bacon just because I thought I should, but it wasn't sitting well with me so I stopped buying it again. It's just not for me. It's OK once in a while but when I buy a package, I'm eating so much of it so it doesn't spoil.

ZCA72 04-03-2016 08:45 AM

oh yea Wanna, don't eat what doesn't set well with you :) bacon and me get along LOL

patty that steak salad sounds delish. I lived on them in my early LC days when I had some carb in my day. I would fry up a sirloin in very thin strips, make a beautiful giant salad and inhale. held me so well and I lost good lbs. eating like that! now tho the salad holds no interest to me, just throw the steak at me LOL

PQ---you are right, there is nothing like being in that groove. I never felt like this tho. It is such a deep physical change in me it is bewildering. like I don't know how or what to do with feeling my body like this LOL The last, oh, 4-5 months I have been saying I MUST MOVE. I absolutely must move my body. My body is now telling me what it wants, what it needs, and what I must do. people say listen to your body--well my mind wanted sugary junk all the time-LOL---now I understand the real feeling tho! took long enough to get here, but since I love this new me there is no ever going back :)

-----HI ALL
yard work today. sunny and nice but chilly! that storm brought thru such cold weather with it. this best be it--time for my 90 deg. summer days I love so much. yes I love it that hot!!

bacon and eggs later
ribeye whenever
might have some chunk cheddar. I stopped eating cheese except on a burger when I have it. I lost interest for cheese but today I woke up and thought, a hunk of cheddar. Since I love cheese and thought I could not live without it, lately I am not eating it by choice. don't care about it, but today I guess my body said give me a little dairy but that might change later LOL might have it/might not.

just chugging along and doing my thing. everything is nice in my little world right now. I will enjoy it!!!

everyone have a fine sunday!!

My niece Nancy is coming home from rehab on Wednesday. I didn't get a lot of details on her condition as her brother Earl is going through treatment for cancer and I don't want to press him for information. I will give it a couple weeks then give her a call.

PrairieQueen 04-03-2016 09:19 PM

Yeah Carol Sue! I was just thinking about her with yesterday's post. My mom and bro arrived this evening. He had a plateful of lasagne and went straight to bed. The car trip wore him out. Back to work tomorrow:(

Break - ham and hash browns
Lunch - buffalo meatballs, carrot
Dinner - lasagne, lite beer
Snack - cran water

Wannabehealthy 04-04-2016 10:07 AM

Prairie Queen, it's good to hear that Bro's appetite has returned. I imagine he will be needing a lot of rest after what he went through. I am hoping that Nancy has recovered enough to be able to walk, talk, and take care of herself. Hopefully, now she won't have to take care of her grandbabies so much. The older ones can help take care of her, but the parents of the little ones really took advantage. It sounds as if she will never be able to have the cardiac bypass surgery. Too much heart damage. I think her husband is still working so she will be spending some time at home alone.

Keto - any advanced Keto dieters?

I'm new here and I hope my following question fits in with this thread. I posted it in it's own thread but this thread seems to be so active.

I started the Keto way today, but wasn't totally prepared. I have some steak but have no idea what to add to this protein to get enough fat into the meal. I don't plan on eating steaks regularly, it's just I have some left over. It's kind of surprising how difficult it is to add fat to a meal so that it meets the requirements of Keto.

I'm also looking for some easier Keto friendly snacks or meals. I just boiled some eggs and plan on making deviled eggs with them. I tried pork rinds with avocado dip but that wasn't too pleasant. I know I like cheese chips so I will make some of those to go with the avocado next time.

Nuts are expensive but I'll probably budget some pecans into my monthly food allowance. Anything else that's obvious besides eggs, cheese. pork rinds and nuts, that I'm missing?

Cheers,
TO

PrairieQueen 04-04-2016 08:56 PM

Evening all! Back to school today and so busy, but a good busy.

Break - sausage mcmuffin
Lunch - lasagne
Snack - three mandarins
Dinner - chicken fajita
Snack - cran water

ZCA72 04-05-2016 09:36 AM

HI TABBY
I am 'advanced' in that I am zero carb and I do protein and fat :)
so fat I know LOL, ZC is the ultimate hardcore keto

basic is simple. get your fat from your meats. ribeye, spare ribs, pork with fat cap on it, chicken thighs with skin...these add up easily into not worrying about 'adding fat'.....pour a few tablespoons of chicken fat over thighs after cooking and eat. drippings from pan after frying a ribeye and enjoy.

We don't need 'tons' of 'added' fat if you eat the right meat to give it to you in the main course.

does that help? but many eat 'fat bombs' and if you google that it is a cocoa, butter etc...mix of things that is just almost pure fat intake. but I don't use those cause when I eat my meat, I get what I need.

so if you have more questions let me know but that is basically how fat is handled in my life. rock on!! this way of eating is the best!!

HI ALL
easy day with windy windy crazy wind out there but yard work. need to keep ahead of Mother Nature hope the wind and pollen treat me well LOL
so far so good

surf and turf later. ribeye and crab legs.

that will be it for the day. in a non hungry mode which means I eat less, one time a day...hungry is eat more, like 2-3 times a day.....but sweet thing is that my less eating means calorie deficit so hopefully that will give me a drop................but who cares? for me it has changed from losing more lbs. to just enjoying my eating menu wow, I lost the obsession with the scale and it is glorious. but believe me I was nutso on 'dieting' before and I got results, but my ZC plan now just keeps me in such a good space that I have changed so much of my attitude now.
whatever it is I love it!

have a great day all

TabbyOne 04-05-2016 02:10 PM

I must have messed up my Keto diet yesterday, my first day. I awoke to find my eyes all puffy. I'm creating a spread sheet to record everything so I can have a record to see where I'm messing things up.

Wannabehealthy 04-05-2016 05:20 PM

Wow, this thread has really died out! Where is everyone?

Tabby, I don't do Keto so I can't be of much help. It sounds like you might be having issues. You should probably want to do more research into Keto before you continue, to be sure you're doing what you should.

ZCA, you are staying true to plan so your body will release more weight when it's ready. Also, you've lost so much already, it's due to slow down a bit. You have the right attitude!

PQ, Back to school should keep you out of the snacks!!

Jacqui_D 04-05-2016 08:34 PM

:welcome: TabbyOne! I found this website:http://www.theketogenicdiet.org/keto-snacks-list/. I hope it helps!

Carol Sue, what great news that your niece is home!:cp: I'll continue praying for Earl!

PrairieQueen, yay on your brother's appetite improving! And I'm glad you made it back home safely!

ZCA72, I wish I were in a non-hungry mode, lol! (Actually, no, with my hypoglycemia I have to not forget to eat and I do forget when I'm not hungry, but a little bit of not hungry would help! :D ) I have been stress eating lately. I keep meaning to get back on track but I haven't yet. I'm eating protein bars like candy bars, and that's bad and I'm doing it straight out of emotional eating. :nono:

Trish, glad to see you, even if it's only a flyby! I wish Rennie would come do the same!

Thank you all for your well wishes for my daughter. I am still worried about her. She continues to have shoulder and arm pain but she started her Hasimotos meds today and although that will take time to get into her system, at least it's a step in the right direction! I know she's worried about gaining weight on it, but I'm worried about the damage Hasimotos could do to her heart. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. :thanks:

I have been so busy and so nervous and I need y'all more than ever, but I'm having a hard time getting here! I hope you will forgive me for being gone so much lately. I don't want to be away! I still weigh above where I want to be for maintenance at 176.5. I don't know if I'll be able to get this under control until I calm back down. I always have been an emotional eater! In any event I will be back on tomorrow. I don't know what time but expect me tomorrow! :D
