Thanks Jacqui :) I think I slept ok but I'm a little tired. I think I have too much to do in the mornings ;)
dt, great day yesterday, though it sounds like your calories were really low like that day I had. :goodluck: with your weigh in today :crossed: down .4 to 173 Have a great day  |
Rennie, yay on being down to 173! Look how far you have come in only 9 days! :woohoo:
I am up a half lb to 169.5. Whew! Stayed in this decade just by the hair of my chinny chin chin :chin: lol! I had salty pumpkin seeds late last night so I'll have to drink lots of water today! Week 25: 1/4: 171 Cheat Day 1/5: 172 1/6: 170.5 1/7: 169 1/8: 169 1/9: 169.5 1/10: Today's Meals: Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, a teapot of green tea, Mio water Lunch: turkey slices lettuce wrap with a little ranch dressing, 1/2 can of black olives, Mio water Snack: Diet Dr. Pepper, a handful of mixed nuts (I was going to wait a whole week to have nuts again but when I am on the go, they are simply convenient and healthy!) Dinner: meatballs in bbq sauce, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, a teapot of green tea, Mio water |
Don't forget your veggies dt. I read that people had more success with the slow-carb diet when they included their veggies, so as our Mom's have said....eat your veggies. lol :broc: But you are still losing weight and that is awesome!!! :carrot:
I don't eat as much broccoli in one sitting as Gary, but I have been eating it for dinner steamed .with some of that butter spray with olive oil you can find where they sell the butter. Yum! I feel a little better Jacqui reading your progress post. This morning I thought the scale didn't budge, but when I logged my weight on MFP I noticed I lost 2 ounces. I thought because I had gained this 6 pds in just the last month it would come off quickly, but I didn't gain 6 pds in one day. Trying to remain positive! I also read this morning that I need to eat the calories I burn via excercise. I noticed that after my workouts lately that puts me some days (like yesterday) lower than 800 calories net and since my BMI isn't that high my body thinks it is in starvation mode. If I eat my calories burned it'll know it can let go of the fat. So I'm going to be sure I eat my calories today, and really hit the gym hard though too with weights. I didn't reach my 149 Thur goal, so I'll just aim to lose 4 pds by next Thur to catch up to plan. :?::dizzy: |
I posted these motivational quotes on another thread for someone, and I like them so well, I think I will post them here too because I think they apply to what we are trying to do here and hopefully we can each find inspiration from one or more of them!

Hello everyone. This thread has really taken off since December!!! I have just returned from a 3 week Christmas holiday visiting family in Ireland and am really looking forward to getting back on track again. I was hoping to try and keep a handle on my eating but it didn't happen. I indulged, over indulged!I will begin again on Sunday. I have 2 more functions this week so I'm just going to start in a couple of days. Well done everyone who maintained or lost weight over the Christmas period, I think that is a fantastic achievement. It's great to see lots of new faces here. I just skimmed through the posts so I will read them all properly when my children go to bed.

Welcome back twotots, sounds like a great vacation!
Everyones continued success is awesome and motivating! Nine days in, taking them one hour, one day at a time, crazy how our mind works at certian points during the day, cravings, weakness, but i have no given in these non sense mind games. 3 days in the same range, a woosh and a good drop is on the horizion Week 2 of 4 01 ~ 177.00 (1200) 02 ~ 176.6 03 ~ 04 ~ 05 ~ 06 ~ 07 ~ Results Week 01~ -8lbs Goal > 165 |
Week 1:
1/4: 397.8 (beer and brandy with my dad!) 1/5: 398.8 (evening weigh in!) 1/6: 394.2 (Peanut butter binge, pizza, bread, pasta, soda, ugh!) 1/7: 396.8 (I also ended the day with a handful of frozen, baked french fries with ketchup and a few flamin hot cheetos) 1/8: 393.4 (A lot of breaded chicken!) 1/9: 393.2 1/10: Okay so at least I am less and not more! I think my body is retaining water a bit. I didn't bring any food today so please wish me the best! We get groceries today and I will be stocked up after today! |
Was very hungry, so ate two granola bars that my work provides, and a cup of hot chocolate. But i'm okay with it because I needed something in my system, or I would've binged. So I walked to Wendys for lunch because gotta get groceries after work still, and got my spicy nuggets, ate twelve. And had a large chili! Water for drink! Have 8 nuggets left for backup later in case I get hungry again!
(by the way the walk was 20-25 minutes and slightly inclined on the walk back) |
Thanks Jacqui, hoping to see my two tomorrow :crossed: I think now that my body is adjusting the weigh loss is gonna slow down, but if I get into the 160's I will have more motivation to keep on keeping on. Don't worry, I'm not gonna throw in the towel, but I really really would love to see that six smiling back at me ;) Jacqui salty at night is never a good idea  Thanks for the quotes :)
Missy, I like it steamed with stray butter also :) Missy I think you are doing well, I'm glad you are still in, not allowing this to derail you and are positively moving your goal date to next Thursday. You've got a plan and you're gonna do this  TwoTots, Welcome Back  That's right Gary, keep it positive, … 3 days in the same range, a whoosh and a good drop is on the horizion I like the sounds of that :) dt, good job and nice plan on the walk to Wendy's :) Week 1 of 5 01 ~ 179.0 02 ~ 180.4 (+1.4) 03 ~ 177.4 (-3.0) 04 ~ 175.4 (-2.0)TTOM 05 ~ 174.4 (-1.0)TTOM 06 ~ 173.4 (-1.0)TTOM 07 ~ 172.6 (-0.8) LTTM total for the week -6.4lbs Week 2 of 5 08 ~ 173.4 (+0.8) LTTM 09 ~ 173.0 (-0.4) LTTM |
Great week Rennie, that is a fantastic loss!
|
TwoTots!!! Welcome Back!!! I hope you had a great time! I'm glad you're home safely! I look forward to your updates!
Missy, I am so glad you recognize that you need to add more calories to account for those you lose during exercise, because if you go too low, your metabolism will definitely slow down on you, and you don't want that! If the body has to do battle to keep enough calories to fuel itself, or enough water to function properly, it will fight the good fight! That's why even though it may seem counterproductive to add extra calories or take in more water, we have to eat and drink enough to satisfy our bodies so that they don't work against us. Rennie, yay on another drop! True, the weight loss will eventually slow down, that's the way it works, but overall, it keeps going! Sometimes I go a whole month without losing, just going around in circles (whenever I reach a new set point), but then I start losing again and it all averages out to a healthy weight loss overall. :D I do hope you reach the 160's sooner than later, but no matter what, you're going to reach those 160's! :carrot: Dt, every little movement on the scale in the right direction is great news! :broc: And good for you walking to Wendy's and eating a slow-carb meal there! :dancer: Gary, way to go! You are doing amazingly! Good job not giving in to temptation! It's paying off! Congrats on another drop! :trampo: |
Hey just wanted to let you all know, I ordered 20 nuggets, but only ate 16. Not huge but good for me. Gave 4 away plus didn't use ranch for my last 4. Ate them plain!
|
Dt, fantastic! :cp: Those little changes all add up! Great job! :carrot:
