How rude of me! Welcome mom2, I'm new here too. This is a great place with wonderful support. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm hoping to be a big loser soon!

My councilor is beautiful too but what really got me was when she showed me her pictures 95 lbs. ago. I couldn't believe she had been so heavy. It was so incouraging. She's kept it off for 5 years!!!! Something to look forward to!

Michelle, I was a military brat and lived all over the country. This is truely a beautiful place but I think most of Florida is beautiful. We are blessed.

As far as shakes go. I drink 3 a day. I had been a big Starbucks drinker so in the mornings I take a vanilla shake and add strong decaf coffee with a splenda and it is a GREAT vanilla lattee!!! I thought that up and even my councilors had not thought of it. For you coffee drinkers you should try it. VERY satisfying.

skinny, thank you for the praise!!!! We don't always see the results because we see ourselves every day. My tennis partner has been away for spring break for almost two weeks and when she saw me on the courts this week she got so excited. She noticed right away!!! That felt great.

Hi, everyone. I just love this site. Reading all of your posts has been very helpful and motivational to me. I did the MRC program 2 years ago, and lost 30 pounds. Unfortunately, I viewed achieving my goal as the "finish line" and didn't go through the maintenance program. So, after trying several other programs, I signed up at MRC again today. I KNOW the program works, and I'm excited to do it the correct way this time. For those of you who have the cookbook, check out the Amazing Cheesecake recipe. (It's on page 100 in my book.) It's the best.

My favorite drink is the Wildberry Passion flavor. I also love using the Magic Bullet with the strawberry or mixed berry flavor and a few frozen strawberries with a little bit of water and ice. It's yummy!

Here's my other caution to you all: pre-plan every move you make on any vacation. I learned that I should have done that last time, the hard way. Take everything you'll need with you if you can. I'm going to a NASCAR race in a few weeks, and it's going to be a challenge, but I'm determined to do it.

One last helpful hint that you've all probably figured out, I buy the plastic 7-day vitamin cases to sort all of my vitamins and pills into. I think I have at least 7 of them. I sort everything out, and take one with me each day. Very helpful.

I look forward to talking to you all in the months and years to come!

What are these shakes? I did not get them. I got the protein drink powders (clears) and cream of chicken soup (creamy). Are there different versions of this diet? Mine is the Meta Slim. I still don't have a clue but I am losing!

Mom2,
The clear liquids are the "shakes." I was very confused at first too. I knew I was supposed to drink shakes to lose weight, but I didn't have any! The more clear liquids (shakes) you drink, the better. My favorite right now is strawberry kiwi - yum! To add to your confusion, the shakes come in powder form or concentrated liquid form. I love the liquid Wild Berry! The powder form is too sweet...

Southern Gal,
Thanks for the info. We're out of cookbooks at my center. Baked chicken is kinda boring...

Wanda,
There are also chocolate and vanilla shakes (the creamies). We're not allowed to have them until after day 5, which for me is Tuesday. Those are not as good for your weight loss as the clears (from what I understand). But that's where we get our chocolate. Yum!

Michelle

p.s If I'm wrong, help a girl out....

Here's the cheesecake recipe. Very cool to have cheesecake for breakfast:

Filling:
2 cups low-fat cottage cheese (1% milk fat)
1 pkg. vanilla shake supplement
1 pkg lemon supplement
2 pkgs Splenda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup hot water
2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Crust:
1 cup melba toast
2 tsp. oil
2 pkgs. Splenda

Mix crust ingredients in blender and press in pie pan. Chill while mixing the filling. Mix gelatin with hot water in blender on high. Add remaining ingredients and pour in crust. Chill before serving

Servings: 4
Beginning: Meta Slim Day 11, Meal - Breakfast
Meta Slim Plus Day 5, Meal - Breakfast
Two Meal Plan, Meal - Breakfast

Replaces 4 oz. protein, 1 bread, 1/2 supplement

The creamy's are chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla is what you can use as coffee creamer or as I said before, use all of it and make a lattee.

I'm out of town for a while on vacation so I look forward to seeing everyone's progress when I get back!

It's very easy to get burned out on chicken, especially when you have it for lunch and dinner every day. I mean, you can only cook it so many ways, right? See if your local WM or butcher carries bison. It's awesome and extremely healthy. I found it in my local Supercenter. Check it out!

I'm a big fan of bison. . . and even though it's "red meat" we can eat it for lunch. Creamies also come in cream of chicken with veggies, cappichino, tomato soup, and maybe some others. I've gotten burnt out on chicken and switched to the bison and I also eat a lot of tilapia. I've found a few ways to switch things around so I don't get so bored with it. I don't use the cookbook very often at all anymore.

I am super excited! We had a March Madness contest at my MRC called "The Biggest Loser" for losing inches. I lost 28.5 inches coming in 1st place - Women, and my mom was 3 inches behind me in 2nd place AND my dad won 1st place in the Men's contest. My dad and I won 5 boxes of drinks and a bottle of supplement (I'm getting a bottle of MRC-6)!!!!!! I am so proud of us - and I just love this plan. I was out of town this weekend for a Mary Kay conference and I had no problem staying on plan - it was even easy passing up the cakes and pastries! When you are having progress like this, it is easy not to cheat!
