kmcnair-I feel your pain. I have the bestest hubby in the world...except when it comes to bdays. One of our first years he didn't even say happy bday, oh it was a big fight all weekend and when my dad found out he was ready to go after him Part of the difference is that b-days were big in my family. We didn't get much for gifts, but always family gathering party with cake (not that cake was important...but the way of saying you matter...even now I always make my kids a fun cake for whatever they are into and already ordered my sister's for her May bpday). Bdays were not as big in his family. I have to remind myself of that...and I prep myself for it, but it still sucks when I get nothing. So I buy myself stuff now. Happy bday to you.
On the cinnabon discussion...I have only had them 2x...both times when I got back to the US from an overseas trip and had one in the airport both times. So I guess if I keep it to just eating them then I will only eat like one more in my lifetime.
Lately I am finding that I am hungry more often. I follow the green menu but find that I could use a snack. I've lost 12.5 lbs so far. However, I find myself cheating once a week and I feel really guilty about it. But like I said I am hungry. Any suggestions?

Had some new tighter black pants on today and walked in to see a client I haven't seen in awhile... She said wow. You are so skinny. What did you do? Stop eating or something? Haha. I was like really? Me? And I looked around. Anyway felt weird having such tight clothes on but guess I need to stop wearing my baggy clothes even though they are so comfortable and I love how loose they are. This is really stupid but with smaller tighter clothes sometimes I feel like oh no I'm gaining my weight back! I'm such a dork
Loving the vanilla bean Syntrax and have been blending it with my frozen peach, pineapple, mango, strawberry mix I got at Walmart. Yum! Had some excellent tilapia w lemon baked with steamed broccoli last night and my DH even liked it too. My DH usually won't eat what I cook. (let's just say he didn't marry me for my domestic skills) LOL. When I'm slammed been having trouble getting my veggies in so today grabbed some lettuce and ate it running through the house ---tonight was lean frilled burger with salad. My man bought these whole wheat buns but I just can't make myself eat the bread so gave to the dogs. I get tired of telling him I dont eat hamburger buns! I'd rather have my strawberries or peaches if I'm having carbs I don't feel deprived at all. Love this lifestyle change.
Camping trip -long weekend. . First thing I packed was cases of water and protein powder. Milk bones for my children, popcorn for DH and oh yeah tequila and lite margarita mix. I mix it with the roadside lemonade Syntrax.
does anyone have any suggestions for cold frozen treat type foods. My allergies are killing me this year, and normally when my throat is this sore (I have lost my voice 3 times already this month) I go get an ice cream or custard to cool it down. Since that is out I was wondering if anyone had any advice.
briannashy- my counselor told me that I could move the timing of an HSN to drink during my weakest time of day. I am new to program so others with more experience may have other ideas. Also drinking a big glass of water helps with hunger.
I get my reading of the Tamiki thing today to measure my BMI. I have only been on program 5 weeks but am excited to see the change. Will report back what it shows.
mkroyer - I feel for you! Been there, done that!!! Habits are so hard to break. Harder when the food is staring you in the face. My suggestion...get rid of it. Give it away, throw it away, feed the birds with it, heck, take it to the top of a mountain. Whatever it takes, get it out of the house. It's easier to resist temptation if it's not around. If you're hitting vending machines, make sure when you leave the house there's no change or small bills in your purse. Extreme times call for extreme measures. Just as you need to break your bad habits, it's time to start creating good ones. Hang in there. You can do this and be stronger for it in the long run.
briannashy - How many HNS are you drinking per day? If you're on the green menu, you can drink up to 4. If you drinking 4 and still hungry, my counselors have said you can have up to one more HNS. It's better than eating junk food.

Talk to your consultant and tell her this, and have her change your menu.. This has happened to me while I was losing, and they always added something to my diet to offset it and it worked. I refused to take their supplements for this..

If you are allowed yogurt on your diet, you can take some FF Greek yogurt or whatever brand you use, add some of the jello to it or some of the pudding mixture to it, mix real well, and freeze it.. It is like icecream.. Last night I did it with some sugar free/ff jello.. You do not need much, but it does the trick for me. If you have not added enough the first time, add moe second. I also add stevia to sweeten it. Splenda is fine. If you are allowed blueberries or grapes, I freeze them.. That is a nice treat. I love frozen grapes, but have to be careful not to eat the fruit at night as with me, that is a pound add on.

I had worn baggy clothes for so long, really knew nothing else, and when one of my college buddies came thru town and we met, she said you are slim, why are you still wearing those baggy clothes, and I said habit, I guess, but when I stopped so many people told me how great I looked with weight lost, and that gives an incentive to dress differently and to stay focused on diet.. I finally bought those tights people are wearing..They are black and go to the ankles. I put them on a good siz times before I had the nerve to wear them. I do wear a long tee over it, but it is a size extra small, but I need to cover my butt, as I am not there yet , nor think I will ever be.. LOL. Try one outfit of tighter clothes and that should do it for you, I am sure. It took me awhile. I am sure you looked great when that person gave you the compliment.

i prissed right out of there and prissed into see a few more customers! haha, look at me now!! a compliment like that sent me right to the grocery store to get more salad fixings, fresh fruit, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs, broccoli and my nature valley protein bars (for emergencies!) and chicken tenders and fish. if i have those foods in the house, nothing can stop me!!! just like a Marine, Always Be Prepared!!! OOH RAH! (my DH and brother in law are former Marines and i live in a Marine town!)

put the chocolate truffle or vanilla Syntrax in a blender with ice or mix frozen fruit in there and blend it up! tastes just like a milk shake at a very cool 23 g. protein! just what the doctor ordered! i have bad allergies and what helps me is local honey (has to be local - you can get at GNC usually or if you have a farmers market...) a teaspoon a day helps me better than anything! i was worried about the sugar being on the MRC diet but it has not caused a gain...
Jen- thank you, i know youre right...... i thought i could handle p-nut butter int he house, and ONE box of cereal for my daughter, but i know now that i cant, i guess...... i have no problem keeping trigger foods outta the house... and its purely a "grazing" on whats available kinda thing... never go to vending machines or gas stations looking for candy, kwim?
I swear though, even if i purged my house of everything i THOUGHT was a trigger, id still find something haha... my daughter would catch me in the middle of the night eating baking soda, wide-eyed like a racoon
COnfessing yesterday here helped though, and im hoping confessing to the counselor tonight at WI will be equally cathartic..... i didnt graze last night, but i DID have one of those diet, sugar free, no fat whatever hot chocolates..... for 25 cals..... i know, NOT on the yellow.GRRR GRR GRRR.

mkroyer - Loving the visual of you and the baking soda! LOL Consider last night a start. No, it wasn't perfect, but it's a great start. It's hard to be perfect on this plan anyway. We all do the best we can. Find no food related diversions. I saw in the Meta-Balance/Exercise post you're not running anymore, so that's out. What about walks with your daughter instead? Just anything to re-occupy your mind.
As for TTOM not showing up yet, given your miscarriage and issues with your period last go around, I have a suggestion that I've been doing for the past 5 years. I take my temperature every morning. I joined a website called Fertility Friend when DH and I had trouble conceiving our munchkin. As it turned out, because of our schedules and travel, we just were never together at the right time. But, it was a real eye-opener into how my cycles work. I now know that towards the end of my cycle, if that thermometer reads 97.99 or lower, TTOM will start that day. Even though we're not TTC, I still temp because I like knowning what's going on. Something I learned is that while the time from TTOM starts and she ovulates can fluxuate, however, from ovulation to the next TTOM is pretty consistent. Takes a lot of the guess work out of it and it gives me peace of mind.
