YUM - these sound wonderful! i thawed out some frozen blueberries and mixed in cottage cheese - it was just like blueberry cheesecake (in my imaginative mind anyway!) haha i can't have starch for lunch but would have been good w/ my melba toast. i munched some celery and cukes w/ it.

Jen and Candi - Congrats!!!!

Things have been very crazy still, but are starting to slow down. I have not been exercising or sleeping enough, but eating has been OP. Plan to WI on Wednesday as usual. We've been enjoying many fresh salads and homemade salsa from our garden and we should have our first canteloupe later this week.

I hope you all stay OP and don't give up . . . it may take a little longer than we want it to, but the weight will come off and it is worth the effort.

Weight fluctuations are so bizarre! Yesterday, I weighed in at 145, Friday showed 143. Today, I hop on the scale and it says 142. I'll take it :) but geez, it can sure mess with your head :0

JenB72 08-23-2011 11:37 AM

Candi - I am soooo excited for you! You are doing absolutely amazing. I can't wait until you sign your next board. :)

Little Edie - Oh, the joys of the teenage years. I remember mine and I'm dreading my daughter's because personality-wise, she's just like me. At 20 months, she is a VERY head strong little lady. Cute as a button, but, oh my! Drama city if she doesn't get her way. ;) Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes.

Bigdog - As crazy as this may sound, is there another center in your area you can transfer to instead? It seems like this center may not be the one for you. I wish you could have the same experience that many of us have. My center, for example, is not pushy at all when it comes to drinks, supplements, etc. They let you know what's there, but, the decision is yours. They are wonderful and truely supportive. In today's economy, they need to understand that for many, money is tight.

momoffour - Good luck tomorrow with your weigh in. You garden sounds delicious!!!!

Raven59 - Scales can definitely mess with your head. I use it to keep me accountable. For me, the fluctuations help keep me on track. One day, I may do great, totally, completely, OP and then the next day, it may post a slight gain. Keeps me from getting too cocky, if you know what I mean. LOL That's why I trust my clothes more. The more loose they feel, even during a plateau, is what I go by. The clothes don't lie! :)

Thanks for all the positive feedback, everyone!!! I'm hanging in there today, but in a complete funk. For the past 2 years, I've had the luxury of always having a family member look after my daughter. Yesterday was her first day of day care because family care is no longer possible and it's just tearing me up. She was crying for me when I left and I was in tears on the way to work. I hope it gets better, because I don't think either one of us can take more days like this.

tkdtara84 08-23-2011 12:28 PM

Sorry, Jen, that you're having to deal with the daycare trauma. I'm sure it will get better. I grew up going to daycare, and I had good experiences for the most part.

Having my own now, though, and being lucky enough to get to stay home, I can definitely understand how it would feel to leave him with "strangers." It will get better for both of you. In the meantime try not to stress eat. I have a real problem with that!

Raven- The scales have been bouncing for me, too. I did everything right and went up 2 lbs. overnight (Sunday morning). Unfortunately, we had dinner guests Sunday night, and the scales messed with my head and frustrated me, and I didn't do nearly as well as I had planned. I wish the jump ups would give me extra motivation, but they just seem to frustrate me, and then I get the "why bother?" attitude. I have to work on that. Anyhow, I got right back OP on Monday, and I've lost it back. I just can't' seem to get past the 179-183 range. I've been stuck there since the beginning of the month, and I feel like I'm just treading water. My clothes are getting looser, though, so I suppose something is happening.

Rzrbackcandi 08-23-2011 01:19 PM

Day 151... and stalled

1 Attachment(s)
Well, it's official.. I have stalled! I've been through "mini-stalls" where I've only lost a pound for the week but so far I haven't lost anything since Saturday! I guess on the upside, I only gained a 1/2lb during vacation and lost that plus another 1/2lb. So I'm stuck at 74.5lbs lost!

We did my measurements today and I've lost 11" in 30 days - which brings me up to 56"! The consultant was excited about this and said that even though my weight loss has stalled, I'm losing inches. She gave me some suggestions to try to push through this stall... I'm going to add another Trace Mineral (so 3/day instead of 2) and I'm going to eat berries as my lunch time fruit instead of oranges & apples. Definitely doable!

I was so wanting to sign the 80lb board by the end of the month, but don't think I'm going to make it. Not giving up though! I still have 8 days! We also set a goal for this time in September - and that's to be at 240lbs. Which is 13.5lbs. :dizzy: I just have to stay focused and pray that I can do this.

Anyway -- I hope everyone's crazy days get better! Seems like we are all a bit crazy lately. Have a great week!

stone3973 08-23-2011 03:11 PM

Well, today was has not been my day. I WI today and was up 3 POUNDS! I have never in my time at MRC gained 3 pounds. So upset. But I only have myself to blame. This has definitely shocked me back to focus better. I know the problem and now I need to fix it and fix it fast. I have been playing with the scales and the scales caught me. Friday at my WI I am gonna be back down and then some.

Congrats on everyone else's weight in. Keep up the good work.

Dolly 08-23-2011 05:09 PM

Candice-Can't wait to see your pics. And inches matter more than scale numbers! I know you can do this. You are incredibly strong and have wonderful willpower.

bigdog- Sorry you feel that you're being fleeced at your center. But good for you for standing your ground.

coarkkayaker- I know what you mean by no one appreciating your weight loss. My husband ignores it and my kids are as self-involved as most teens are and only mention it if I wear some of my clothes that are way too big. But we're here for you!

Mariah-So good to hear from you. I know how super busy you must be. It's awesome that you're staying under 190. Congratulations!

[B]JenB[B]- I'm super proud of you for signing that 40 pound board. I have to admit though I thought when you mentioned a "visit from Irene" it was your coy way of referring to TOM. I know that really shows my age. I was clued in after Candice's reference to Irene also. I first thought "What a horrible time of month for these two nice ladies who uses phrases like my elderly aunt."

tdktara84-My weight stayed the same for three weeks being OP and the scale did not move even though my rings and jeans felt looser. Today the scale dropped for the first time to 157. When I hopped back on the scale just to confirm it said 159 for the 4th week in a row. I changed my ticker but who knows what it will be tomorrow. I agree it's so frustrating.

stone- You know what to do. You'll do fine on Friday!

Oh boy.. When I had a TOM - I called it Aunt Flo :o I've been on Depo Provera for several years and now Implanon - so I don't have TOM anymore.

Good luck with your re-join tomorrow! You'll get to your goal weight in no time! And we'll be here to help!

patzi 08-23-2011 07:34 PM

I had maintenance weigh in and stayed the same, 5 pounds under goal, so I will take that.. I am weighing in Friday and next week am taking a week off from weighing in. First full week I have taken off from weigh in since I started.

Jen..
Congratulations on the signing of 40 pounds.. That is fantastic, be proud of yourself.

Bigdog...Thanks for recipes. They look really good.

Stone3973 You will make it as you said you know what you did, and will focus and get back on program. That is the key.

Congratulations to all the winners, and those struggling, hang in there, it will all turn out for the best if you work the program.

everyone have a wonderful evening.

Tamikl 08-23-2011 11:34 PM

Well, at my WI yesterday, I had dropped 1.5lbs. I am happy about that...but then she mentioned that I should go from the "beige" menu to the "green." The main difference was 2 oz less protein per meal. I don't know about anyone else, but I was hungry sometimes on the "beige." I am not accustomed to no snacking throughout the day....and between lunch and dinner, having nothing was not easy for me.

Anyway, we are trying a new menu called "Meta Balance." Anyone familiar with this one? I did it today for the first time, and I think I really like it. When 5 oclock rolled around, dinner was the furthest thing from my mind when normally I already have it cooked and am eating!!!

Anyway, if I can lose weight still with using this menu, it is a keeper for me I think!

Anyone else try it before?

Tami

Tami - I actually switched to the beige menu last week. So I was able to drop my afternoon snack. Now, if I feel hungry in the afternoon, I will drink an HNS and that really helps hold me over until dinner.

I'm not sure about Meta Balance but I know there are people on here that have done it. Doesn't it add in dairy and things like that?

Good Luck with your new plan.

Fluffy in Florida 08-24-2011 09:31 AM

And here when she said a visit Irene I thought she was referring to the storm coming towards Florida.
And I'm with Candi I called that visit Aunt Flow. Haven't dealt with that in years since I had to have a hysterectomy.

JenB72 08-24-2011 01:56 PM

Tara - Thank you so much for your kind words on my day care situation. I thought today would be a bit better considering my sweetie was so happy in the backseat this morning. As soon as she saw the place, it was meltdown time. We're gonna give it a couple of weeks and re-evaluate.

Candi - Knowing you, you'll bust through your stall before you know it. It's like our bodies know we're about to hit major milestones and like to play jokes on us with the scale. Hang in there and keep us up to date!

Stone - Half the battle is knowing where you veered off course. Fix it now and you'll be back where you were in no time. At least you have a couple of days to right the ship, so to speak, before your weigh in. Good luck!

Little Edie - Thank you so much for that laugh! I needed that! Let's just say as a northern transplant (Philly to Florida), I am paranoid about hurricanes. I feel like there is a stalker out in the Atlantic right now. Lucky for me, it's going to miss us by 250 - 300 miles. I just find it bizzare that it's going to hit northern spots like Boston, dead on, as a Cat 1 hurricane. They really have no idea what they're in for (kinda like the earthquake yesterday). Besides, that, how did you re-enroll go?

Patzi - Congrats on getting back to 5!!!! You are amazing. I hope I do as well as you are when I get to maintenance!

Tami - Congrats on your loss!!! I haven't tried Meta-Balance, but I hope it's what you've been looking for.

When I weighed in on Monday, I told my consultant that I hoped just to lose a half pound by today's weigh in, just to say I was in the 150's. I woke up this morning, and the scales said 159.2, so I was hopeful. Well, I didn't get that at the center.

I got 158.5!!!!!!! :dancer:

That's 2.5 pounds this week...while on vacation!!!! Unlike previous tries, I just proved to myself that I can lose weight and have a good time on vacation. They also did my measurements and I was only down 2.75 inches, bringing me to 50.75 inches lost. We think some of my measurements may have been wrong last month because there were a couple of things where I was actually up a half inch. Weird! Not letting that get me down, because in the end, that's 50.75 inches that are gone, gone, gone!!! :)

I've also decided to bite the bullet and move the goal post on myself. MRC and I had originally set a goal of 150 pounds. Being that I was post-pregnancy, I didn't know how my body would react. I've decided I'm not stopping until I get to 140. So, while I was almost at my original goal, I know me and I won't be satisfied until I am at least 140 before I start stabilization. I've read many of you lose a few pounds during that time, so that will be icing on the MRC-approved cake. ;)

patzi 08-24-2011 02:25 PM

Jen..
You will do fine when you hit maintenance, and reason being as you are so dedicated to the program and yourself, and really working the program and by doing that, you have success.. Good luck to you.. You are doing fantastic.

Patzi

brandy8188 08-24-2011 02:30 PM

WI today and I'm down a pound. Not as fast as I'd like, but it is still losing. Slow and steady wins the race. :) Back to work tomorrow. My plan is to stay strong and stay OP. I know I can do it.

Dolly 08-24-2011 03:22 PM

Well, I'm back from my re-enroll. Let me list the ways it was a disappointment.

First of all, it only took 15 minutes. I'm experiencing a sort of "the money's on the dresser you were fantastic be sure to lock the door on your way out kind of feeling."

Second, the "special" for re-enrollees was the same price I paid when I origninally enrolled a few years ago and more than when I had to add on 10 weeks once. I had to buy 20 weeks when I thought 10 was sufficient.

Third, the saliva test is mandatory. I may complete it, but I will not take advice on hormone treatment from a nonmedical person. As I mentioned to them, I'm already taking Provera for heavy periods and am monitored my by gyne for that.

Fourth, they were giving away free gifts and I wanted a pink tote bag and they gave me my millionth aluminum water bottle instead (sob). AND they WOULDN'T LET ME SWITCH!
Okay, a little melodrama with that but geezopete, really?

Fifth, they put me on preconditioning which I understand since I pigged out on Chinese and chocolate cake last night but I wanted to go right for the new menu.

Sixth, they told me to skip the food instruction class and just show up in a week to get my menu and supplements. I may show up anyway.

Seventh, I weighted MUCH more on their scale after lunch and not first thing in the morning before breakfast and all naked like on mine.

Okay, thanks for reading all this.

On the plus side, they thought 145 pounds was totally "doable" for me in my twenty weeks.

Another plus-I am going to be held accountable once or twice a week by someone besides myself.

Third, I will get measured regularly and I love to lose inches.

Fourth, I will get more emotional support than I get at home when I lose.

Sixth, I will have more choice in my supplements by going to the center. Now I order from Diet Direct and watch the poor Fed Ex man cower in his truck as my outdoor dogs bark and snarl at him. I'm getting tired of rescuing him from my four pound dogs and want to suggest to him that he needs therapy if he wants to continue delivering packages and is frightened by toy dogs.

So really, I'm excited and can't wait for pre-conditioning to be over. And I have defined my weight goal instead "just seeing what happens".

So here I go again.

SailorsGirl 08-24-2011 03:25 PM

Yay!

I'm so excited! I just weighed myself this morning and I'm finally in the 70s.:carrot: This is the thinnest I've been since living in Hawaii! Hopefully when I go home to Texas for a visit in Novemeber I'll be able to say I'm in the 150s and my family won't recognize me.

Thanks so much for y'alls advice and encouragement! It really helps a girl doing this all on her own out in the middle of the Pacific! :sunny:

That is one of the funniest things I've read in awhile!

tkdtara84 08-24-2011 03:54 PM

Little Edie-- I know what you mean about it being over so fast! It was the same for me when I re-enrolled. I think they feel like at that point they don't have to sell you on the program or really explain much about it. I didn't get a gift when I signed up, if that makes you feel better, lol.

They made me get the saliva test when I signed back up, too-- I did it just because, but I didn't buy anything because of it, don't plan to, and like you, refuse to take hormone advice from non-medical people. I do think I'll show it to my doctor out of curiosity, but I don't think there are any issues at all.

If you want to go to food instruction, then just go. I had a re-enroll class that was a watered down version of it, but it's nice to get a refresher because sometimes you forget little details. There were a couple things that I had been doing wrong the whole time last time, and I was on program for 9 months.

Pre-conditioning might not be a bad thing. Let us know if you lose weight on it. I have thought about going back on it after I cheated, but I never have. Sometimes I wonder if it would help by just giving me a break or bringing some variety in or something. If you lose, I might just try that next time I really start struggling to stay OP because of boredom or whatever.

20 lbs. in 20 weeks is definitely doable! You'll be there in no time. Plus, the re-enroll thing and having more accountability and support might just be the kick in the pants you need to finish up the home stretch. I know it got a lot more difficult for me mentally when I was 10-20 lbs. away.

Good luck, and let us know how preconditioning goes!

 You crack me up!

My "toy" dogs will bite people! I live in an upstairs apartment and have a gate that blocks the boys from going down the stairs. When someone knocks, I try to jump over the gate and my one psycho dog nips at me! Even broke skin a couple weeks ago. And they go absolutely nuts! But it's just not the UPS people.. it's family, too. :o

Anyway - I still have 2 weeks left on my 24 week program and they are running the re-enroll special so I bought 17 more weeks. They didn't push the saliva test on me but they also know that I don't have a lot of money and I'm barely making it buying all the other stuff. And I didn't get a prize either! Oh well.

I hope everything goes great for you and definitely keep us posted! :goodluck:

Goneforgood1128 08-24-2011 08:06 PM

Jen-I did the same thing with my goal! I even actually went to the preparing for stabilization class earlier this month, thinking I was going to stabilize this week. But, after that class, I decided I wouldn't be happy with my original goal, plus the 6 pounds they allow before having to resign. So, I talked with them and decided to stabilize next month (thank goodness I don't have to do the class again)! I lowered my goal (only by 4 pounds, but keeping that "6" in mind, I'd be okay with my new goal plus 6). Now, my hope is to get to my new goal before stabilizing and then lose a few more during stabilization, so I'll have that cushion that Patzi talks about!

This is a discouragement!! :?: I don't want the test. They didn't have it when I first enrolled so it's not needed in my opinion. Is the saliva test mandatory everywhere? If so what's the cost for it? I figured the "special" wasn't going to be much of a special anyway. I got a card through the mail saying that they were running a special for re-enrollment so I broke down and called my center. Oh well guess we'll see.

I was going to see if I could skip the preconditioning phase but it may be a good idea to go through it after all. I'm just in a hurry to jump in and start losing big. lol

Thank you for posting your experience. I'll post mine. My appointment is Friday morning. I look forward to hearing how your progress goes and gaining encouragement from you as well as the rest of the MRCers. :D

tkdtara84 08-24-2011 11:08 PM

learning2Bhealthy-- Yes, for me the saliva test was mandatory, but I was happy enough with the price and the number of weeks I got, that it didn't much matter to me. I didn't notice that it significantly raised the price. I think I paid $279 for 17 weeks, got four free from my last time, so 21 weeks. I also got stabilization/maintenance (not sure if that was just carried over from my previous program), and at my center if you attend 6 classes, you get 2 free weeks.

All in all, just make sure you're satisfied enough with the price overall if your center makes you get the saliva test. I think it's silly, but I didnt have to actually take it (I did, out of curiosity, but I don't see how they can "make" you take it) or do anything with the results, so I didn't really care.

Also, console yourself with the fact that you won't be buying much in the way of HNS (saw your post in another thread) or supplements from them. Overall, it should be relatively inexpensive for you, even with the saliva test.

True, I didn't think of it in that way. Last time I paid $298.00 for 24 weeks, a year of maintenance included so it wasn't as bad as I thought. It was worth every penny. I felt great. I'd pay that amount again just to feel that good again. :D

This reminded me of my sister and I last time. We signed up and went straight to a Chinese buffet. We actually told the counselor that we were starting in the morning cause we were going to have 1 last BIG eat out before we started. hehe.

patzi 08-25-2011 06:21 AM

I would never have the center tell me I would have to take any test. That is your option. I have bucked center from beginning. I do nto take anything unless I want to.. I would refuse it if you do not want to take it. Never heard anyone at center say it was mandatory,or as a nurse, would have had a fit. I can't believe they can do this. One time they insisted on hormone test and I told them I would call the main governing body of MRC and complain about these tacticsif they did not stop trying to sell me this, and they let off for awhile, but I guess that is how they make their money. It seems every two weeks or so, they are trying to sell me something, and I tell them I am not interested . Tuesday they were tying to have me do the iodine test, and I refused. week before that was the COQ10 drops they have, and I refused both, but had to listen to a selling on it.

It is infuriating, but I just stay calm now, as before I would become so uptight when they did this.

Hope this helps someone, as I have gone thru this and it leaves me with a bad taste, but overlook it, as the program does work.

Remember, the choice is yours, you have that freedom. My friend says it is not in her budget, and that is her excuse.

Patzi

Fluffy in Florida 08-25-2011 09:19 AM

When I signed up the way the saliva test was explained to me was it was included in the price. Like here we are giving you this test because you are signing up, not that I was paying for it seperately. After reading a few posts here that it was/wasn't mandatory at places I questioned it with my center. OH NO I paid 100.00 for it but that was a discount from the 199.00 if I did it at another time. I told them it would have be nice to know that because I was borderline if I had the money to start this now or would have to wait. I almost didn't do it. She kept going on that it was a discount blah blah blah. I finally said, I understand it was a discount but it should have been explained to me that I was putting out an extra 100.00 for a saliva test when I'm monitored by an immunologist and my doctor. I was a little more stern then I expected to be and she just stopped trying to explain. When I got my results I think the lady doing that was going to try to sell me stuff and I just took the results and said I would get up with my doctor.
I'm still a little upset that I paid the extra money and it was not explained that way to me but nothing I can do about it now. I had to ask several times for the lady to own up to the fact that it wasn't manadatory.

Patzi- it was odd. I told the counselor I was taking hormones prescribed by my gyne and she said, "Good. Now we can see if they work or not." I said, "I know they're helping-I don't have one continuous 20 day period anymore." And she said, "This test will help monitor your pills." I said nothing but thought there is no way I'm going to alter what my MD and I have agreed on.

Also, I told her I exercised everyday because I have partial paralysis in my left leg (foot drop) from a back injury and my left lower leg muscles will atrophy if I don't. She said, "We might have to cut that back to 4 hours a week because it will slow down your weight loss." I replied that I couldn't cut that back because is what improves my mobility and strength and I need to get back to my nursing job. She said, "I'll let you try it but if it slows you down we'll have to cut it back."

I am a little dumbfounded that someone would consider a quicker weight loss more important than rebuilding my ability to walk and strengthen a weak leg. But I know most people don't understand nervous system injuries or neuropathy.

I WILL exercise daily because it is important to my recovery and mental well-being. I spent three months using a walker last year and will not backslide and lose the muscle I've gained.

Little Edie..
I am a nurse and know what is what when the consultants talk, but they are not medical people, and I have said that to them. If my doctor tells me something, or if I believe in something, it is not up to the conultants to comment as they have no medical background at all. Remember, do what you want to do, and you will be fine.. Test by MRC monitoring medication given to you by your doctor, is nonsense.Your doctor will monitor you. Now, that is my opinion, but I opted out of all tests and all the other stuff, except for a few . And I am trying to wean down on the supplements now that I am on maintenance, and that is not going over at all at center, so trying to ignore it. Shame they pressure us, as the program is the best around, and it does work, so we have to try and be strong and ignore them, if that is what we believe. It is a personal thing.

Just got back from my weigh in for week one of stabilization. Well I just started the menu Monday but I lost 1.6 this week. I am glad to finally be out of my slump!

JenB72 08-25-2011 01:07 PM

Brandi - Congrats on your loss! And, yes, you can do this!!!

Little Edie - I'm so sorry your consultation was such a bummer. Reading that hormone testing was mandatory was a shocker to me. Definitely not the way they do it at my center. I hope it gets better for you!

Sailors Girl - Congrats on being in the 170s. Isn't it fun watching the scale go down? :) Keep it up and you'll be in the 150's in no time!

Goneforgood - Woohoo for lower goals! LOL It's funny, it seems like it will take forever to get to our original goals, and now that we're almost there, it's like, what's a few more weeks after all of this? I think I'll be in a state of disbelief when I get to stabilization.

learning2Bhealthy -Good luck with re-enrollment. I wonder what would happen if you decided to walk out the door without joining because of the test. Would they all of the sudden make a concession and tell you that it wasn't mandatory? Makes you wonder.

Junie04 - Congratulations on losing during stabilization! Keep us up to date on how it's going for you. :)

It just occured to me that Tuesday was my 6 month anniversary being OP with MRC. In those 6 months, I'm down 41.5 pounds (61.5 pounds since having my daughter) and 50.75 inches! I'm feeling so much better, don't get winded walking through the mall, and can chase after my munchkin. I've went from a size 18 when I gave birth to a size 10 and honestly, those jeans are getting pretty baggy. My blood pressure medicine has went from 11 pills a day after giving birth (I had severe pre-eclampsia) to 3 pills. The doctor may be taking me off more shortly. My eating habits are now becoming a lifestyle change as opposed to a temporary change for a "diet." I'm still trying to learn to love water, but I notice when I don't drink enough, I feel like crap.

If you're a newbie and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, look to our ladies who have made it through and are doing great. Patzi, Junie, Teacherlady, and Hatesthesweatpants have been an inspiration for me and watching them succeed pushed me to stick with it because I knew I would be so much happier for it!

Hi ladies....

Well, after reading over some of the posts, I am happy that I don't feel "pressured" every time I go into the center! I am only asked if I am out of anything....

I did do the "Saliva Test" recently...my own choice after taking the "Body In Balance Class." I got my results yesterday. I think it was worth it. I already knew that things were a bit off...LOL but my progesterone is very off, which needs attention. Until your hormones are in balance, your body struggles more with weightloss, apparently.

I was put on "Total Woman" supp, which is good for me anyway, and the Progesterone cream. All I can do is try this stuff...if I am not impressed with it, I will stop.

I am really liking this "Meta Balance" menu. I am never hungry anymore. I think the snacking option is what I needed :) IF I don't continue to lose weight on it, we will have to adjust things...so I am praying it will work! I really didn't like the "Meta Slim." This is only my first week on it...so will keep you all posted!

I was down 2 lbs this past week after my WI yesterday!! My counselor wants me to "treat" myself out to lunch or something when I have a loss. Since I travel out of town to come to my appts, I have to eat out anyway, so she told me to take a "Fat/Carb Blocker" and have a little fun for one meal :) That certainly motivates me to get the scale down!! LOl

Have a great day all! "Once day at a Time!!"

WOW Jen! What an inspiration you are!!! Your example proves to me that this journey will have a great outcome. Just put your mind to it, and it can be done...even on vacation!!!

I leave for a trip (A week) with my husband the beginning of September. He is on business, and for me...total pleasure!! LOL I am a tad nervous about the food situation. I can bring my supplements, etc..but my personal will power when i am on the go isn't great. Any suggestions?

Tamikl congrats on the 2lbs. Keep up the good work.

Jen B you should be really proud of yourself. You have come a long way. The women are definitely motivating me to not give up. I keep questioning if the vegetarian program will work but I will give it more time.

The scale was very kind to me at WI today-- 5 lbs. down since Monday! I had jumped up 2 lbs. with no explanation, cheated Sunday night because I was so frustrated with the gain when I had been doing everything right, so I was 3 up last WI. The best thing about this WI, though, is that I'm FINALLY a pound under where I was three weeks ago when I went on vacation. Who knew that a weekend trip would set me back three weeks? Granted, I've cheated some in the interim, but I really think 90% of that can be attributed to the carb cravings that going off plan started to trigger. It has really taught me a lesson-- no more cheating for an extended period of time like that. If it does ever happen (which I don't foresee), then I'm going to go back on preconditioning because I just didn't have much luck trying to jump straight back into plan.

Anyway, at least it's over, and from here on out I'll be gaining fresh ground. :)

I had to sit with my least favorite counselor for the second time in a row today. I get along with most of them just fine, but she really rubs me the wrong way. When I gained 2 last time, she gave me a guilt trip, even though I had been perfectly on plan. This time, she was happy with my WL, of course, but she then says, stuff like "let's make the goal for next WI 2.5." As if I really have control over that-- all I can do is stay OP, and that is far too high of a goal to tell someone they should have. She's also the biggest salesperson there, too, which also bugs me. Okay, rant over. Hopefully I'll get someone different next time. And that's okay-- because I lost 5 lbs.!!! :)

Tamikl-
Best thing I did to keep myself in check while on vacation was to take my scale with me and weigh in every day!

patzi 08-25-2011 06:53 PM

tkdtara84, great weight loss, and if you are happy with yourself, then that is all that counts.. I have to say if your journal and not cheat and stay OP, it will all work out.

valarieg...What program are you on, and may I ask why do you feel like giving up? Hopefully you won't do that, there has to be a solution . We can all help you.

Tamikl.. If you like the Meta Balance and have a problem and don't like Meta Slim, have your consultant change things around for you.. They changed things for me throughout my weight loss.. Make sure you journal, so you can
have them see everything you put in your mouth, but if you do not have any problems, you are on your way ..Glad you weight loss was good for you and you seem very motivated and that is a good thing.

I have been experimenting on nuts on maintenance, and that is such a big trigger for me, so we shall see what the scale says tomorrow.. I had 1/8 cup of mixed nuts, no salt added... If I gain, no more nuts. LOL.

Everyone have a great night.

Patzi
