All Day Weight Loss is alot of pills. 2@B; 2@L; 2@D; 2 before bed. Supposed to speed metabolism and curve appetite.
Great Job Jen. My problem with traveling is getting all my water in because if we're driving we hate to stop all the time, ready to be there but I seem to do better on vacation that at home(go figure) I guess I am trying to be good. You will do great!! Valarieg...I weigh every morning, if I'm up it keeps me on program(gotta get that off) and also if I am down it makes me tell myself "don't eat that, remember where you were on the scales" and if I am the same, gotta work harder. It's just a mind game. |
Valarieg - I also weigh in every morning and tend to use this is my true weight, but the MRC as my weight of records. I'm normally 1.5 pounds heavier at MRC.
Jen - I KNOW you'll do great on vacation. You're strong and dedicated to the program. Plus all the progress you've made will be a true motivator for you. |
I also weigh every morning. I think it's more accurate (I weigh first thing in the morning, after bathroom, in underwear). However, some people have difficulty with this-- it seems like WL is "slower" at home because you see smaller increments of change rather than larger ones at MRC. It can mess with your head if you've done everything right and are up. As long as you can accept fluctuations (everyone has them) and not let it derail your eating habits, then I think it's fine. However, if a weight change freaks you out, then it would be best to just weigh at MRC.
The last time I did MRC, I didn't weigh at home much. It was always a nice surprise going to MRC. This time I'm weighing every morning, but I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not. It hasn't really given me problems, but I think I was a little more careful about staying OP last time because I wasn't sure what was going to show up on WI day. I'm going to take a break from my home scale in Sept., I think, and see how that goes. It's never a bad idea to shake up your routine a bit anyway. |
Hi everyone. I haven't been writing much lately, but I have been keeping up with all the posts.
I wanted to share that I will be starting stabilization next week and I am excited! I didn't get down to what I wanted to before I started, but I am still OK with starting. I am about 6 pounds above my goal right now. |
Junie - WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Hi everyone.
I'm still on program, still trucking along, but all of a sudden, my belly feels bigger again. I was feeling quite a bit skinnier, but for the last few days, I don't feel as thin. A bit discouraged this week, but I'm not sure why. Ever have those days? I may have to go back to two weigh-ins a week instead of just one every Saturday. Don't mean to be a downer, but I thought maybe if I post about it, it will help me get back out of this funk. |
Hi Ginpea!
Sometimes it's better to post when you're in a "funk", so you can get the support you need. I think all of us women have those days where we feel bigger; especially in the tummy. Mine is related to my Cycle. Maybe try drinking a little bit more water to see if that flushes it out. You live in AK so I am assuming that it is still Super-Hot there. So, it could be water retention from the heat. Unless you have been on a huge binge, my guess is that it is just water that your body is holding on to. One thing that keeps me from going "crazy" is taking my measurements every 2 weeks. I have had a couple of weeks where the scale has been up & down, up & down, but my measurements have always gone down. You are almost 1/2 way to your goal, my Dear, so don't give up!! Keep posting to let us know how you're doing. Going for 2 WI may help, especially to get more support. ~Connie~ |
Went for WI this morning... wasn't looking forward to it because I was all out of whack this past week with meal times and flying all day yesterday.
I guess it could have been worse. But not happy with myself right now. I gained a 1/2 lb during vacation! I'm really hoping it's water weight and will drop it in the next couple of days but still! I wanted to either be the same or lost a pound or two. Considering, I did have a couple cheats but they weren't THAT bad. Guess it was enough to throw me off for the whole week. Anyway - planning on going to PiYo at the center in the morning, so going to WI before that to see if I lose anything today just from being back on a normal schedule. Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's time for me to get back on track with meal times & going to bed/waking up like I'm used to! |
Went to maintenance weigh in and lost 1 pound, putting me at exactly 5 pounds under goal.. I did not try anything new this time, after trying trail mix and gaining.. I have been doing a veggie day maybe one day a week, or 2 meals veggie and one regular meal at night.
This week I think I will experiment with beans and grains, both trigger points for me, and let you know how I make out on Tuesday. Saw a woman today that lost 91 pounds. My goodness, she looks like a different person than when I first met her.. She has 20 more pounds to go to reach goal, and she may try to go under. A very happy person, which is a delight to see. Congrats to all the losers. Happy weekend, everyone. Patzi |
I lost a pound today. Even better, I feel like I'm finally out of the cheating/wanting to cheat cycle that started when I went off on vacation two weeks ago. I've been OP solidly for a few days, and I can tell the cravings are starting to dissipate.
ginpea-- sometimes I have those days where I feel bigger, but usually it's all in my head. I don't know why I can feel so much bigger yet actually be the same size. Probably, that's the way it is with you. If you haven't been cheating, there's no way you're bigger. There's always water retention, of course, but it doesn't cause a noticable difference, or at least it doesn't on me. |
Hi ladies~
Well, I just came off of a 3-day "Metaquick" menu. That isn't as much fun....as I felt hungry much of the time. I do believe I lost some, but we will see for sure at my next WI. I am going to have to go back to once a week WI....My kids start school, and driving out of town and back in time for them won't work out. I am kinda worried that the last stretch of weightloss my be more challenging? Anyone find that to be the case? Well, I do know that while our menus can get boring sometimes, all one has to do is eat bars and shakes for 3 days and our menus are wonderful!!!! LOL I have a couple of new recipes if anyone would like me to share those~ Tami |
Hi ladies,
Just got back from vacation and WI today. I lost .5 pounds. I was hoping for more since I biked around like a crazy woman! I know I didn't get enough water so I'm hoping it will come up when that goes up again. |
Hello everyone,
Weighed in this morning and 1.5 loss. I keep doing the yo-yo thing. Up 2 down 2. Really gonna try this weekend and have a loss on Tues. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and get your water in. |
Hi all,
Sorry I have not been around much, but August is very busy for me. We homeschool and started this week. It has been fun, but busy. I hope to be arround more starting next week. My food choices have been okay, but not always spaced properly and exercise has been nonexistant right now. I think I've worked out a schedule that will allow me to get everything in, including exercise and sleeping, but this is always a challange at the start of the school year. I have had little sleep and that is affecting my weight loss, but this should get back to normal now as well so hopefully between the changes in my thryoid medicine and getting back OP in all areas the wait will start to fall off again. I have not gained, but I really have not lost much in the last 2 weeks either and with the crazy, stressful time I've had I am happy with that. Congrats to all you losers and welcome to the newcomers. . . I hope to go back and read the posts for the last 2 weeks tomorrow to see how everyone is doing. . . Mariah |
Measurements
Hi ladies
How often do they take your measurements when you weigh in? Also the only thing that I am craving is a diet soda. Any suggestions. I hope everyone has a great weekend |

I believe they're supposed to take your measurements once a month. I've only had mine done once since I started program at the end of June.
WI today and it went better than last time! Down a pound. Now to have a great OP weekend so I can post a bigger loss next WI! My goal is to get to 215 by the end of August. 7 lbs should be totally doable. |
WI this week weren't good for me--stayed the same on Tuesday and gained 0.5 yesterday. I've been eating the cheesecake for breakfast several mornings a week and I think it's causing constipation, so I'm going to eat something different this week and see if it helps. I think I am also going to cut back on my water. I'm still getting in the same amount (sometimes more) as I was when I started this journey. But, now I'm 32 pounds lighter, so maybe I'm drinking more than I should. I know several of you have said your center told you 1/2 of your weight, so that would be 63 oz for me and I've been drinking 85-100. We'll see-I sure hope next week is better (even thought it will be TOM, so maybe not!)! The weight is sure coming off slower now that I am getting close to goal! Congrats to this week's losers and everyone have a great weekend!

Hi All,
I'm still pluggin along, too. 4 weeks on plan now with only 2 off plan events. One at a dinner with a friend about 2 weeks ago. One last night...TOM and not enough sleep the night before....bad combo. I felt miserable and just needed some carbs. It's fascinating how the hormonal swings can impact our bodies so much. So I had the package of choc. crisps (OK to have 1/week per plan), then 1 slice of bread with nutella, and 1/4 cup Kashi crunch with splash of milk. Anyway, the biggest change for me has been that when I decided to go off plan, it is a carefully thought-out decision, not a rash "auto-pilot" move. I had quite a detailed chat with myself that went something like this: "What are you doing? Do you really want that? Are you hungry? It this really going to help?" and answered. "I know I'm not hungry. I'm going to have this 1 serving and enjoy it. Yes, I really want it. I don't want to deny myself right now. It will make me feel better and will be worth it BUT it doesn't give me license to binge tonight. I will not allow myself to be remorseful about it and I won't continue to go off plan beyond this choice." So here I am in the morning, with no regrets! No negative self talk. It's back to plan, nothing has changed. Vastly different mindset. It does help that I am not weighing myself everyday. I am weighing once a week and an occasional "spot check". I expected a plateau so skipped the scale 2 Mondays ago, weighed last Monday-yup no weight change as expected...then 1 pound dropped as of Friday...not changing the ticker, yet, to make sure it "sticks". I'll weigh again next Monday and see where I stand. Wishing everyone a great weekend. |
For those on Meta Quick.. I was told by Center not to do that often. Just to do it when on a long plateau that one cannot seem to get out of. They told me not to use it as a convenience.
Goneforgood1128. Try varying your breakfasts, and that may help. There are many variations for breakfast that you could do, that would help. Try not to have same item each morning. When I was close to goal, the weight came off so slow. Some weeks nothing at all, some .2 or nothing. That is where I came up with I took a seed off, being there were weeks where only point something came off. Hang in there, it will come off, just stay on program and try to vary what you are eating on all meals and maybe that will help. As for measurements, I found they take them whenever. They never took them monthly on me.. But each center is different. Before I hit maintenance, I believe they took measurements 5 times. Momoffour.. So glad to hear from you. I was worried about you and posted a couple of weeks ago if anyone had heard from you. Tamikl I am always looking for new recipes. Would love to have you post them. The last part of weight loss was challenging, as it was slow coming off, but if you work with consultant and stay totally OP it will come off, I promise. As I said above, mine was real slow, but I did hit goal, so hang in there. Congrats to all the losers, and those having a struggle, hang in there, it will turn around.. If can't do it on your own, have the consultant go over your journal each time you go and make suggestions. Consultant asked for my journal each time I weighed in till I hit maintenance. Journal every thing you put in your moth, including anything you drink and any exercise you do. Everyone have a great weekend and think thin. Patzi |
Thank you, Patzi, for the advice. I do tend to get in a rut and eat the same things for meals (mainly for breakfast and lunch), mainly because that is the easiest! But, you're right, I need to work on varying those two meals. I'm not a very creative person (especially with regard to meals), so that makes it even harder to come up with different ways to get the food groups in at meals. But, I'm going to see if I can't mix things up a bit this week!

Still wondering if the vegetarian plan is going to get me the 3-5lbs a week. Is anyone else doing the vegetarian plan? I cant do the clear HNS due to the gelatin. For now I have two creamies a day. If anyone has any ideas for substitutes please let me know.

I love hearing all of you going through the exact same things... I am new to MRC and was VERY skeptical upon joining. Since joining Aug 8th, I've lost 6.5lbs. I hope to start my green menu on Tuesday, thank goodness because I am a creature of habit and tend to do the same things! So I really need to mix it up a bit.

Hi all,
I haven't been on in a while--been busy with work starting back up. So far, so good on maintenance. I've stayed under 190lbs since we got back from Alaska in mid-June. It's not always been easy, but I"m hoping that getting back into my regular routine will help. THis weekend was rough, food-wise, but I"m hoping that upping my exercise and being extra-careful this week will even it out. I went out for drinks with co-workers on Friday, and I ended up having one glass of chardonnay, chips & salsa, and then some of the nachos that someone ordered for the table. Yesterday was hubby's company party, with a luau theme and yummy cheesecake. I waaaay overate yesterday (made the mistake of eating super-light all day prior and arriving super-hungry) and felt sick all the rest of the afternoon/evening. Today was okay, back OP, until we went to MIL's bday party. She got the carrot cake and ice cream I love from a nearby shop. I didn't have much, but I really didn't need to have any, in all honesty. But, it's all about choices and consequences, and so I'll just have to be extra active and extra careful this week in order to balance out my food choices this weekend, I guess. Tamikl--I had a really, really hard time getting the last few pounds off to hit my goal. I think part of it was physical (your body is working more efficiently by the time you are close to goal weight), but a lot of it was mental--I felt "done" with the diet, and it was almost like I wanted to jump ahead and be in stabilization already. Welcome to all the newcomers and congrats to all the losers! |
Hi all ~ hope everyone had a wonderful weekend OP. I was able to stay op this weekend, and that's when I normally blow it - so I'm patting myself on the back for that one...and best of all - the scale reflects it! :carrot:
On a more discouraged note...my sister started a different diet plan the same time I started with MRC. She's lost almost 20 pounds. I've lost around 14. I am SO happy for her...she's working hard at this and has wanted it for so long. I'm proud of her. But dang it...why isn't mine coming off faster? I'm working my butt off and being so strict with my eating. Then we (my hubby and I) run into a friend we haven't seen in awhile and he says to my hubby "What's up skinny?" He totally noticed my husband had lost 20 pounds, but not me. Okay, done feeling sorry for myself. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I feel much better now and more determined to stay OP Keep it up! |

I signed the 40 pound board today!!!!!
I actually managed to stay OP for the most part and lost weight on my vacation/road trip. I have a lot of catching up to do with all the posts (not to mention getting ready for a visit by Irene this Friday ), but I just wanted to let everyone know I did it!!!! :woohoo: |

I was going to go in for measurements but figured I would wait and do it tomorrow for my normal WI on Tuesdays. I pretty much stalled last week because of vacation. WI on Friday was +0.5 then on Saturday it was -1lb. I guess last week was just a wash. Hoping for at least a couple pounds tomorrow morning. My sister-in-law took me shopping Saturday. She felt sorry for me wearing baggy clothes. Plus, we are going to the Def Leppard concert in Kansas City this weekend and I needed something to wear. We went to Lane Bryant and hit the jackpot. Apparently, there were 10 stores in the US that were testing a 50% off everything promotion. The store we went to, happened to be one of those 10!! I found a nice pair of SIZE 14 pants and a sweater on clearance and then 4 other tops. I can't believe I can actually buy tops from Lane Bryant again. Their sizes tend to be smaller than Catherines... but I'm rockin' the 22/24 tops! Oh - and I threw in a pair of satin boy short panties. Had no idea how they would fit or if I would even like them - so only got one pair. But I so love them! I'm definitely going to get some more of those, when they go on sale next. All that kept going through my head was... the next time I buy a pair of pants, they will be a size 12!! Holy Moly! That's hard for me to wrap my head around. Anyway - I will have my SIL take pics of me this weekend when I'm all snazzied up! On another note .. I know someone asked how often measurements should be done - In the beginning they are done on the 15th & 30th day and then every 30 days. I usually have to remind the consultants about it and I have it marked on my food sheet, so I don't forget. |
I've been busy with teenage issues and the additional stress they cause. So for seven days I've been on plan every other day and horribly off on the rest.
So just as I feared, I have lost my focus since hitting goal. In order to counteract this, I have an appointment with the Center on Wednesday to join. I want to get down another ten and learn how to stabilize and maintain. They're having an open house that day so maybe I can get a deal. I used to be a big spender there so I'll have to make it clear to them I'm only buying the HNS from them. So I'm excited for my new start on Wednesday. I only wish I had measured myself last February when I started. Have to take my daughter to Walgreen but I'll be back to catch up on everyone tonight. Miss you ladies and think of you everyday even if I don't check in. |
Congrats
CONGRATS, JenB72!

my counselor isn't too encouraging either even though i have lost 8 lbs in the first 2 weeks and continously losing 2 lbs a week - they don't like the fact that i won't buy the supplements or all the HNS they tried to push on me the first week. i would have bought them if they weren't so pushy. first meeting they talked me into buying the phenatrine (i haven't used it yet) $75 a bottle!!!! after i paid $300. told me the saliva test was a necessity...and i find out later they charged me $100 for it (included in the $300) had a coupon for $100 off so it would have been $400. yes, they will show you the results and encourage you to buy at least 3 more supplements!!! i took the copy to my doctor (had my yearly exam scheduled anyway) and she said she did believe in the saliva testing and all my results were normal. :-) they of course told me i needed cortitrim, M6...and Co10 something! i order my Protidiet pink lemonade powder (17.6 oz for $26) , HNS's from Dietdirect.com
i've bought one box from the center. i did not like the fact that in the Food class where i thought we'd be talking about recipes, food choices, suggestions...the counselor went down the list of HNS at the center and described each one in detail!!! then asked the people in the class to check what they wanted and she grabbed their credit card to ring all up.! wow! everytime i go in, all they want to do is sell me more stuff. now i go in, weigh in and try to get the heck out!! i do love the plan (meta slim) and can't believe i am finally losing weight again!! just wish the counselors werent so money hungry and would be more supportive. one of the counselors is nice and gives me tips on what to eat, etc. when i ask him. i know it's a business...guess i'm just used to Weight watchers where they really care about who comes to the meetings and not just tryn to sell their stuff... |
cheese cake recipe - thanks! Jen
