Just weighed in and received week 5 stabilization menu. I was so happy I nearly cried when I saw peanut butter and avocado listed. I love peanut butter! Haven't tasted peanut butter in over 7 months. I can not wait .. Yum!!

I'm frustrated....one worker tells me one thing and another tells me something else? Why can't there be consistency? Anyone else run into this?
jmgirl...
I was on metaslim and am now on maintenance. I know how frustrated you are, as I have been there myself, so maybe I can tell you what I did and told the center what I was going to do and did not listen to them totally. Starch on maintenance 1200 calorie is 3 x daily and it does not specify when you can have it. I think your consultant is confusing the maintenance menu with the Meta-Slim Three Meal Plan, which is the one before going on to stabilization. That one does not have any starch at lunch, only breakfast and dinner.. Maybe it would be easier for you to stick to the Meta-Slim Three Meal plan and start to add the selections from the 1200 calorie to that, little by little to see how you do.. I have run into consistency problems and have told them how I wanted to do things, and they had to go by that. Trust me I have had many frustrated visits on my challenge, but it has all worked out..I am so thankful I could come to this forum and release my frustrations.
I find with my work schedule and with my travel for business days, even though I am on maintenance , I stick to the Meta Slim Three Meal Plan and add l the maintenance items I can have to that, and it is working for me. I know that plan inside and out, as that is what I added my stabilization to, and it is so easy to follow.
I don't know if this helps, but I hope so.. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer if I can. But, please do not let the center frustrate you. Be your own person and they will get the picture.

I know! That's how I felt when I got dairy added back. I LOVE yogurt and milk, and I was so happy to get them back that I almost cried. Now I eat yogurt as my evening snack every evening--I like the Dannon light & fit toasted coconut vanilla. It's so decadent-tasting that it really is a dessert for me! I especially like it with the brownie made from the hot cocoa supplement & super chocolate powder. Yum! It's like brownies & ice cream!
LetHerOut (BTW love that name!) way to go on your first WI.
JenB72 - you're an inspiration!
RaRaF - I'm not losing either, so my next WI I'm going to ask them to take measurements - my clothes don't seem loser, so I don't think it'll make me happy.

TEACHERLADY - That sounds so yummy, it will be a while before I can try it, but it is nice to hear about some of the possibilities in my near future.
TKDTARA84 and LETHEROUT - Welcome, it sounds like you are doing well.
JENB72 - CONGRATS!!! You've been working so hard and that is an amazing accomplishment.
LISAK190 - CONTRATS ON BEING IN STABILIZATION - I like peanubutter, but I really miss popcorn and probably will cry when I can have it again.
I've had a wieard couple of days - nothing bad, just some odd situations. I plan to WI tomorrow and do some grocery shopping - there are a lot of great meat sales because of the 4th and I'm really excited about getting some sirloin and fresh halibut! Also, made an asparagus, snow pea and quinowa risotto tonight with cod and it was amazing. I will post the recipie either later today or tomorrow.
Hello. I signed up yesterday for the 17 week program and I've been nervous ever since. They weighed me, measured me, explained a lot of stuff, took my money and sent me on my way into the big wide world on my own, armed with a bottle of fish oil supplements, Phentatrim, a hormone spit test, some papers, and an initial basic food list.
I was excited when I went to bed last night and woke up nervous. I knew I wasn't going to start anything today, but I called the center because I couldn't remember how much of the fish oil the consultant told me to take. When the lady on the phone told me 6000-9000mg, I thanked her and hung up. Looking at the $40 bottle of 60ct capsules that total 900-something mgs, I broke into a cold sweat when I realized I'd have to take between 6 and 9 capsules a day, which means my "30 day supply" just turned into a ten day supply, at most. I can't afford to spend $40 every ten days on fish oil, then however much the little red juice packets are going to run me. I was shocked to have been charged $40 for the fish oil supplements when I honestly thought she said they were going to cost me $14. I guess I misunderstood.
I plan to now try to find an over-the-counter (not MRC's counter) fish oil supplement at a much cheaper cost. If you use another brand, what brand is effective and doesn't cause the "fishy burps" I've been reading about?
I really want this to work for me and I plan to follow the consultants' advice. My "initiation class" is next Friday (not tomorrow) and I'm feeling conflict. We have plans to attend two family get togethers where there will be tons of food this weekend.. one of them a big mexican fiesta (my weakest weakness).. should I start tomorrow, knowing I'm going to eat that bad stuff Sunday and Monday, or do I wait until after Monday to start? What would you do? I kind of feel like I'd be wasting capsules if I took them, knowing that I intend to participate in this last hoorah.
I'm very much looking forward to being an active part of this community and I'm so glad to have found this forum! I really feel I'm going to need it.
Is preconditioning what I'm actually supposed to be doing now? Can someone explain that part to me? Is it just eating from that list, taking my vitamin and fish oil, and drinking a ton of water? Is that preconditioning?

The centers will try to sell any/all supplements to you. As you've discovered, you can go broke quickly. I was thankful to have found thus forum before going to my consultation so I purchased minimal supplements. And did not do any hormone testing .. that I left to my doctor. I purchased fish oil and multi-vitamins at Sam's Club. I get the 1400 mg of fish oil so I started taking (2) before meals. And yes, at first, I had the fishy taste but that soon went away.
The only supplements I purchased at the center was MRC-6 and Enhancer. For the majority of my time on the diet, I took (6) 1400 mg fish oil, (1) multi-vitamin, (6) MRC-6, (6) Enhancer and 3-4 HNS daily. My weight loss was much slower than the center's original estimate. I averaged about 1 1/2 - 2 lbs a week. Since I am on the road for work most days and have to eat out often, I felt this significantly contributed.
Really focus on the diet plan itself. Keep in mind this isn't forever. The first month was the most difficult for cravings, being hungry and drinking so much darn water. I made sure I kept a variety of food and 'free drinks' available. Snacking at night turned into a cup of caffeine free tea. Crystal light became my saving grace with water. And definitely become a daily contributor to this forum. The support is amazing!
Good luck! And remember .. so many of us have 'been there done that' and have successfully accomplished our weight loss goal. Now, come and join us!

^ This. I had a big mexican-fiesta themed party I had to go to for my husband's company about 2 weeks after I started the diet. I was totally stressed out about it-- until I got there. I made sure I ate ahead of time and brought my drink supplements for while I was there. Everyone kept trying to push food on me, until I told them I was starting a very strict diet because I was worried about my health. (People seem to take that much more seriously than just being on another diet.) All of a sudden, everyone (i.e., the women) became soooo supportive. The party was at a lake house of one of the wives, and she even started pulling out her old MRC stuff to give to me (she had successfully lost 50lbs the year prior)!
It's your choice if you decide to wait until next week to start, but just remember--every time you wait to start, you are losing a chance (and the time! Time is money on this program) to lose the weight. You've waited this long...why not just get started now? If you're worried that the family gatherings won't have food you can eat, then bring your own! THat's actually how many of us cope with food-oriented social situations on this plan.
Good luck, and definitely keep us posted on how you're doing or any other questions you have!
LisaK - Peanut Butter?! We can have peanut butter again?!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Congrats on stabilization! I'm so happy for you!
VictoriaLynn2 & LetHerOut - Congrats on your weight losses! It's only the beginning.
Ginpea - Welcome! One of the great things about this forum is you have ladies here who have been on program long enough to steer you in the right direction with regards to what's necessary, what isn't and where to get the most bang for your buck. This place has been a life saver for me. The support is invaluable! Keep checking in and it will help keep you on track.
I weighed in at lunch. Not only did I WI in the 160's (169.5 to be exact), I got my free week. Now I just have to lose something by next Tuesday to get those extra 2 weeks. To top it off, my size 10 jeans fit!!!!! I feel like Miranda on "Sex and the City" when her skinny jeans fit after having her baby. What a feeling!!!!!
