May is starting out great for me. Weighed in at lunch and down another 1.5 pounds! This is the weight I was at when I totally gave up last year. I'm nowhere near that place in my mind right now. 7.5 pounds to go until pre-pregnancy weight is gone!
I come before you with my head hung in shame. A little over two years ago I'd lost 40 lbs, felt like a million dollars and was well on my way to my goal weight.
I LOVED MRC, but my downfall started when I went on vacation. The biggest issue I'd faced the whole time with MRC, was that there was not a center near me in my state, and I'd had to do my counseling by email and have my supplies mailed to me. So, when I got back from my vacation, I not only fell off the wagon, I tumbled off so hard, I'm sure you guys felt it wherever you live.
So.. here I am, those 40 are back plus around 20 more to keep them company.
I've tried several programs in the last couple of years, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, and I'd just bought the 17-day diet book. I don't have to tell you what kind of results I've had from them.
Then...Oh Joyous day! Yesterday I learned that we now have an MRC center here in Little Rock!! I am sooo excited and sooo ready!
I have an appt in around an hour to rejoin the program, and I wanted to come on here and admit my shame to you guys, and see if you'll have a black sheep, a prodigal daughter back in your midst?
I have missed the loving support of everyone on the site and I hope and pray ya'll are doing great!
Welcome back! There's no need for shame, you made a poor decision (we all have done that), you realized you need help and support and you were courageous enought to admit this and get the help you need . . . that sounds courageous to me.
Hi everyone! Well I have been on MRC a few times in past few years and never really stuck with it. I tried to do the program at the beginning of the year own my own, but that was just too difficult without the accountability of the center. So here I am, I am back again and I rejoined a week and a half ago with my center and I m already down 7 lbs. Yeah! I am really determined to do this, this time - I am not getting any younger and do not want my weight to begin to affect my health. I think that mindset makes a difference.

Hey, Janet! I remember you! Welcome back! I have done the same thing as you and have recently rejoined. I'm sure we will succeed this time!

Great job! You are so close...you will make it this time for sure. Not only will you be at that pre-pregnancy weight, but you'll be looking great for the summer.

Welcome back! I too am a black sheep. Wow, I feel like you just told MY story lol. I too had lost about 40 lbs, went on vacation and went completely off, and now have an extra 20 pounds to lose before I can start the "real" losing again
It will be much easier with a center in your town. Happy losing!

Welcome back. Great job on the 7 lbs. There are a lot of us who have quit once or twice before but are determined to lose the weight this time. Together we can do it!
Great week! 5 lbs gone and I am out of the 240s. Yay! After losing nothing for about 5 days, the scales finally started dropping again. Unfortunately I worked 12 hour shifts over the weekend and we were so busy I didn't get to eat one of my meals Sat or Sun night. I feel certain the scales will punish me for that over the next couple of days... but I'm enjoying it for the moment...
I am finally starting to feel human again after being sick over the weekend. So today is my first official day OP. Here is my question to all of you "experts". I am on the yellow menu and I have to tell you, it sure feels like they have me eating alot of food. I mean 8 oz. of lettuce is a huge salad. For supper I had chicken and green beans. The menu says I am suppose to have 6 oz. of chicken and 4 oz. of green beans. That sure looked like a lot too. I was just making my lunch for tomorrow and 6 oz. of turkey is a lot too. And it was, I didn't eat it all. Is this normal? Am I required to eat all of this. If am going to gain weight if I eat this much.
I have always been the habitual snacker and stress eater. And trust me I have major stress in my life. I am an only child taking care of my 72 year old Dad on Hospice with Alzheimer's.
So I am totally sticking to the 3 meals a day with no snacks. Just during pre-conditioning I lost 6 pounds and I am pretty sure it would have been more had I not gotten sick. There is no way I can eat as much as they want.
And one last question. On the meat portions. Are those weights before or after they are cooked.

Congratulations on your 5 lb weight loss. You are doing great!!!!!

Okay not really sure about the official answer but I usually eat what I am allotted...i'm a big girl tho.... and since you are not snacking in between you may not make it until the next meal and be more tempted to cheat...just saying....
The protein portion weights are for after cooking.

I thought the same thing about it being too much food but once you get in the grove of things, it balances out. And my center stresses that the old diet rule of always leave something on your plate.. isn't a diet rule while on MRC. You are eating that much for a purpose. Each protein, fruit, veggie has a "meaning". If you don't eat it then you aren't getting all the nutrients you're supposed to be getting. Plus, they don't want you to go more than 4-5 hours between each meal so if you're not eating your entire meal then you probably won't last until the next and your body will go into starvation mode.
I think that's it. Maybe people that have been doing this longer will have different advice.

In the beginning it really does seem like a lot, but your body does adjust. You are supposeed to eat all the food, however, I have been told that the protein and supplement are the most improtant components so you should definately try and eat all of those at each meal. I would also talk to the people at the center, there are many different plans - some of which spread the food out throughout the day. . . You will not gain weight eating like this - it may seem like a lot of food, but it is high quality, high protein, low calorie and low fat food. . . By leaving out the sugars, starches, and high-fat foods your calorie count is greaty reduced even though it seems like a lot of food.
Also, I found that eating slowly helps - you can spread your meal out over 1 hour if that would help.
