Yes, I'm still a huge skeptic Deb...I'll have to be specific about which plan i'm recommending when i suggest MRC in the future.
I lost a half pound this week and a few last week, so I've got just 7lbs left to my first mini-goal...well...8 more really and thats to be under 300lbs. Ugh. I am so tired of that big fat 3 sitting in front of my weight. .
Hey Sam! Hoping that 3 disappears this week!! WOO HOO
This is such an encouraging forum. I rarely write, but read almost all updates. Today was great input - I need to up my water and the comments were a reality check. I find when I don't take the time to plan, suddenly my vitamin/mineral containers are empty, water bottles aren't full, and I am looking for a creative meal that probably is on the edge of program. Thanks all for the focus on the goal!
I lost 2.5 pounds at WI today so I was able to sign the 40 board!
Also I came across Wisconsin cheese curds so I got them and warmed them up in the microwave for about 20 seconds just so they are soft but not melted and they tasted just like fried cheeseballs! Now I'm wondering if they are even considered MRC legal cheese?

Congratulations on signing the 40lb board! That is great.. I use the Tillamook cheese curds and I told the center and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. It is just cheese before it is pressed into a loaf so it is pretty much the same as far as calories and carbs.. Just remember you only get 2oz.. Again congratulations and keep up the great work!
I had a great time Saturday night at a catered dinner. Ate lots of veggies and also a piece of dessert cake. So at WI today I'm up a pound! By tomorrow I guess I'll be back in "burn" mode.
Has anyone ever taken Ally after going off track during a single meal? I still have some from pre-MRC days, and I'm not planning on making a habit of these side tracks, but I am wondering if that would mitigate some of the fat...
It is most likely just water retention.. Not fat.. Just drink lots of water and get back on plan.. unless you ate 3500 calories, it surely shouldn't be fat..
I know this doesn't sound like much of an accomplishment, but I made it through my first day of pre-conditioning!! I had a major headache in the morning.... no idea if it was related, but it subsided by noon. I had a HUGE desire to have something sweet at around 9pm, but succeeded in fighting off the urge.
Tonight I have a major challenge: We are having 4 familys over for a pizza party. (of course this was scheduled prior to my joining MRC) I am making a big salad and was thinking that I would have that and no pizza. I am sure no one will even notice what I am eating so that isn't an issue..... but pizza sure is a weakness of mine. I am glad that I just started as my motivation is sky high and will help me through. Any tips out there???

For the first 4 months I began on MRC plan, I STAYED AWAY from these type of gatherings and totally quit entertaining (which I love to do). I had great success in that period.
so this week i totally screwed up. Broke up with a friend who felt more for me then i for her, binged because i couldn't control my emotions every night thus far, and i don't even dare to step on the scale.
I guess today is a fresh day again to start the weightloss journey. i SO need to get out of these dang FIFTIES!!!!! HATE THEM!!!
Wendinnc - first of all...making it through the first day IS a big deal! That first step is the hardest one i think. Once you get used to the plan its normally not as difficult to stick to it and make good choices...plus once you're seeing losses its easier to avoid the foods that slow you down. That doesn't mean we don't mess up later, just that the drive and experience is there to try to keep us from it.
If you just HAVE to have a piece of pizza go for one with either ham or lots of veggies. Sausage and pepperoni have way more salt and fat than the other meats and veggies are always better. Also, go for thin crust. Much better for you than the thick crusts. When I'm going to a pizza party and just don't wanna fight it, I have them order a thin crust veggie pizza with light sauce and then i have a few pieces with a big salad and lots of water. If you can stay away from it, thats better, but making the best choice possible is always good.
Nabeel - Those binge days are aweful! Been there. I'm with ya on hating the 50s too. Hang in there and get back to it. Commit to doing the best thing for you (just like you did with the breakup...not good for you to be in an unbalanced relationship...way to go for doing the right thing, even though its hard) and get back down to buisness.
Wendi .... the first day is HUGE -- congratulations!
Joy ... staying away is so much easier! Wish I'd remember that.
Nabeel .... so sorry, breakups are harsh. I know I still haven't moved on from self-medicating with food, and it frustrates the heck out of me! Here's to a new start for you and breaking out of the 50's.
Sam.... water cheers to you too!
Ronnie ... I LOVE cheese curds!
Snowbuni.... lack of planning does me in too -- you think I'd get over it, but I don't. aarrgghhh
