I hit a very long plateu!!!!!! Going into the holiday season, it was too much and I chose to eat what I wanted:nono:. I have gained 7 pounds back so I am at 201:cry:. I really liked feeling and looking better and everyone at work was complementing me on my success. I need to get back on track and be serious again. Please I need encouragement and advice because I am afraid of a long platue again and cannot deal with that when I stay on plan and eat the same chicken and vegetables all the time(or so it seems).

Get back on the plan! There is another analogy similar to the u-turn that I wish I could give the credit for, but I can't remember who said it. Here it is: "If you are walking up a flight of stairs and trip you don't just throw yourself to the bottom of the stairs and say that it is too hard to get up the stairs. You finish going up the stairs."

That has really helped me. Go to the classes at the center. I think we go to the same one (NW Omaha). Find one of the counselors that you really bond with there (for me it is Brad) and ask questions and let them know how you are feeling. They will help you. They want you to be successful nearly as bad as you want to be successful.

I agree with the cookbook and recipe thread here. You have to branch out on your variety of food and mix it up a little. I can't even remember the last time I had chicken and I am eating on plan every meal.

Good luck...hope to see you back here.

I swear sometimes, it feels like magic :) I feel wonderful, and proud of myself, instead of depressed and hiding under baggy clothes. I have learned to cut back my spending in other areas of my life. Are you currently taking any prescriptions? I have been able to cut back on 2 = saving $ right there! I will be starting maintenance on Mon., and I really believe you need it to succeed. Hope this helps! Mindi

Only one scrip and it's an elective scrip but not one I'm willing to sacrifice right now (BC). It was luck that I decided to ditch wells fargo and change to a smaller local bank that as an intro for the new branch they opened they were giving $100 to any new customer that hadn't had an acct with them before. That's where I got my initial enrollment of $99 and I was warned about the drinks but the $50 I found for the month on top of what I figured for groceries isn't enough to get through the six weeks worth of drinks. At the minimum 2 per day it's $134 for the six weeks and that's including buying 2 of the 5 for $55 deals. *shrug*

I also was just told we have to pay back the stimulus package we received last year on our income taxes this year so I may not be left with enough to continue the program in six weeks without it as I'd hoped. :( Any cheap food ideas are GREATLY appreciated at this point because my only option left is that I've budgeted too much money for food and will be able to make up the difference on the drinks that way. I don't know where I'll get the next enrollment fee or the maintenance fee if the stimulus package thing is true so I may end up having to drop out after six weeks which is really going to suck.

Thanks,

Connie

I've been back OP for 2 days now :) I'm caught in this dilemma of when I should go WI. On one hand, I know I need to go check in and face the music. On the other, it is sorely tempting to wait another week or two until my weight is back down to where it was pre-holidays.

Veggies are the bane of my existence. I always save out a small bit of cheddar cheese and use it either on a plain salad (iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese and a teaspoon of extra light in flavor olive oil...very plain, but very yummy!) or sprinkle it on top of cooked veggies. After a few weeks of experimenting I have found that I am much happier sticking with the two veggies that I like that I was trying to force myself to like other ones.

Does anyone have any info on the MetaQuick plan? One of the councelors said I should do it for a week post holidays and apparently it includes bars and shakes.

Connie, as for cheap food ideas, I do egg whites a lot, and ALWAYS am on the lookout for sale meats (96 % beef, chicken breast, ground turkey), and tuna is pretty cheap too. Do you have aSam's or Costo nearby? That really helps buying in bulk too......I divide it up and then freeze it. They sell a giant bag of broccoli for under $5. Mindi

As for vegetables, have you tried roasted green beans or cauliflower? Roasting totally changes the taste! Mindi

I have discovered that I like Green beans, zucchini, broccoli ( or almost anything) sauted in a little Olive oil. I add a little of the mrs. Dash seasonings and it really helps. I was such a picky veggie eater before this program but it has expanded out of boredom. Good luck! This program is awesome.

Also as for the drinks buy your basics with MRC and then you could buy the ones on the internet or make your own. If you look back on some of the previous posts it has HNS posts! Good luck!

Quick question for all of you. How many of you are using the hoodia/phentratrim supplement? I'm curious since the price is almost doubling if I really need it or not. I even though about extending the bottle and only using it 2x a day instead of 3x or even going down to 1x at lunch when I might be more hungry!

Or did anyone find a good over the counter brand somewhere else that would be a good replacement and cheaper.

Thanks for your input.

That's a good idea. I don't have a membership but I have a friend who does who wouldn't mind taking me shopping in there. I guess I never thought of it because I work for a local distributor who provides most of the nonfood items to the largest grocery chain in this part of the state. *anyone from west TX can tell ya about United* I generally try to shop from my warehouse on things we carry *which is not much in the good food department* because I get them at mfr cost plus 2% freight and payroll deduct. They don't tell us not to shop at our competitors places but I've always tried to be loyal to my customers who are paying my wages every week. :D Thanks!

Thanks,

Connie

I've been getting a hoodia/green tea supplement from Sam's - WAY cheaper than MRCs. I got the phentratrim last month when the center was running a special - took me awhile to figure out that it was messing with my stomach. I don't know what it is with their hoodia vs others, but their old hoodia AND the phentratrim both messed with me, just gave me a wicked stomachache. But the stuff from Sam's is no problem at all. It's available other places as well, it's called Mega-T green tea with hoodia. How well it works I have no idea, but it does seem to help...

I've been doing MRC since Sept. 13 and have lost 45 lbs. I didn't take anything but flaxseed oil until last month. I decided to try the phentratrim because it seemed like my weight loss was slowing down. I bit the bullet and paid the money and I'm still waiting for the big losses that they said would occur. My average has stayed exactly the same. I can't tell a difference with anything. I'll probably stop taking it soon and maybe give MRC6 a try. I hate to tell you not to try it because you never know, it might work for you. For me though, I can't tell any difference.

Thanks ladies! I think I may try the Sam's one for a few weeks and see what happens. I just would like to try to cut that cost down if possible.

I bought a small bottle of Phentatrim and took it for four days. It gave me a HUGE headache an hour after taking it so I stopped. For me it was a total waste of money.

I just purchased the Sam's one myself, and it was only 13.00. It is a 3 month supply if you go by the directions on the back.

Good morning everyone! It's a new week in the new year! I have had a good start to the new year OP but a special celebration meal over the weekend that was not so much OP. It was fun and I had a great time with some wonderful friends. It is the first time I've purposely gone off plan since I started about 18 weeks ago. I don't feel bad about it but I want to get back on track and not start adding BLTs to my day so I went home from the restarant and set a new mini goal for Valentines Days to help me stay on track.
