That's where I got my initial enrollment of $99 and I was warned about the drinks but the $50 I found for the month on top of what I figured for groceries isn't enough to get through the six weeks worth of drinks. At the minimum 2 per day it's $134 for the six weeks and that's including buying 2 of the 5 for $55 deals. *shrug*

I also was just told we have to pay back the stimulus package we received last year on our income taxes this year so I may not be left with enough to continue the program in six weeks without it as I'd hoped. :( Any cheap food ideas are GREATLY appreciated at this point because my only option left is that I've budgeted too much money for food and will be able to make up the difference on the drinks that way. I don't know where I'll get the next enrollment fee or the maintenance fee if the stimulus package thing is true so I may end up having to drop out after six weeks which is really going to suck.

Thanks,

Connie

Hi, this is Melissa. Okay, here's what you have to do... The minute you say you "cannot" do something, you are programming it into your being/self that you "cannot". Life gives an abundance of health and wealth. We just NEED to change our thinking and and the health and wealth comes to us. Believe me, I thought I could not "afford" the program at first. My husband has a financial responsibility to pay over $1,500/mo for child support (from his previous marriage), we have two car payments, a mortgage, credit cards, and some medical debt. I used to say that we "live paycheck to paycheck". We LIVED paycheck to paycheck, because I programed my thinking to live paycheck to paycheck. I quit thinking that way, and got my husband on board about positive, ONLY positive, thinking. We are living abundantly well. If you want to join the center, you WILL find a way. Do it for yourself, you deserve it!

I have been reading a WONDERFUL book called "Life" by Louise L. Hay. It is a splendid book about self affirmation and just loving YOURSELF first. According to the back of the book, "It is an inspirational book that deals with growing up, relationships, work, health, spirituality, aging, death... and many of the problems, fears, and challenges that the book brings about". I absolutely recommend it. It is an easy read. I finished it last night, and I want to read it again. It gives you affirmations about everything. Here is my favorite one that applies to being at our ideal, healthy weight. "MY MIND AND BODY ARE BALANCED AND IN TUNE. I ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN MY PERFECT WEIGHT EASILY AND EFFORTLESSLY". We don't have to be at our ideal weight at this very moment for this affirmation to work. Say it now, and daily, and it will be in your subconscious and your weight will come off. I changed my thinking and it has been working for me.

So, there is everyone's pep talk this morning - hope this helps!

Good Morning Girls and Happy New Year!

I've been off the board for a while; my son and I were on vacation from school/work so I didn't have time to jump on the forum and check in.

Welcome to all the newbies! Congratulations to you and your decision to take control over your life! What a wonderful journey you are on.

Rdy2Lose Great job signing the 50lb board, and wonderful new pic!

DLA Congratulations on the tanita success, and look at those inches lost! Great!!!

LauraM You're off to a great start with the 4.5lbs lost. Keep it up and use that for motivation!

I'm jealous of all you Wii'fitters! I want one but they are sold out here. I would love to play!

During the break, I got to sign the 165lb board and since I had a loss the day after Christmas got 2 wks added to my contract. I'm excited! I'm almost there and will just keep plugging away until the end of February when my contract ends.... wherever I end up will be my end goal. I'm confident it will be close to 170 so I think I will have at least lost 1/2 of my body weight (starting at 354, 1/2 would be 177 so 12lbs and I'll be there)! Wouldn't that be cool!

Have a great day!

I originally wanted 160 because I'd seen a chart in a dr's office somewhere that said for my height I should fall in the 138-158 range and every woman in my family is large chested so I rounded up. The numbers they gave me at the center were 164 to 182? Anyone else get numbers they didn't expect like that?

Connie -
I also got number that I did not expect, I think that they are at least 10 pounds over.

That being said, I am planning on doing what the center says, because 145 is lower than I have been in 10 years. In those past 10 years, I had 3 children, so maybe it is right. We will see. I am looking forward to seeing the 140's again!

Welcome back Denise and congrats on signing the board! You are my inspiration! I had such a melt down yesterday and ate everything really crappy in site! Actually not everything b/c 3/4 of the bowl of puppy chow is still sitting there and only ate 4 of the kisses! Don't know what got into me b/c normally I'm not tempted. So I hit the gym this am and woke up with a new frame of mind! I will get the last of this weight off!

Have a great day ladies!

Awww, thanks!

I'm so happy that you left that puppy chow alone... there isn't really any nutritional value in that (for us anyway); plus.... I don't think it tastes all that great ;)

Before your "melt down", what was going on? Have I shared the analogy that I learned?

H

It stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Are you hungry.... eat when you need to, not when it's too late and becomes more than just eating for nurishment. Are you angry.... walk away, journal, etc.... but don't eat for emotion. Are you lonely.... again this is emotional eating.... talk to someone, read, journal, etc. Are you tired.... rest.

When I get tired, I want to eat. I don't know why but I think my mind gets crossed about what I need. It thinks the nourishment I need is food when it's really just rest.

Also the hungry thing.... last week, I made the MRC mayo and it totally triggered me. I was starving for anything and everything all day. I couldn't figure it out until that night. That mayo just made me crave other foods. I didn't "go there" but it was sure difficult not to. Maybe look back at your food diary and see where the cravings started for you?

Glad you're back on track!

As you continue to lose weight the range will change based on your body fat and hydration percentages. I am 5'-10" and when I first started the range was 192 - 226 and after five months my range is 174-205. Have them recalculate it for you every time you do the TANITA.

Same here. When I started, my initial goal based on tanita was 213, then it continued to go down... 196.... 190.... 180... (you get the idea). Now I think it's at 160 and I'm 5'11. Interesting enough though, I had a Dr's appt last week and she said not to go under 170. She said that wouldn't be healthy for me. She actually said I was totally good were I was but I told her I didn't feel like I was "there" yet. It was great to finally hear a Dr say that though!

You continue to inspire me. It is so exciting that you have the end in sight. February will be here before we know it. It is amazing to have lost half your body weight. I was actually thinking the other day about how close I will be to doing that when I get to goal. The thought makes me both excited and sad. Excited that I am doing something about it yet sad that I let it get to that.

It is so good to have you "back". I missed you!

I think that it is three. I would start with one a day though until you know how the affect you!
