That additional 34 weeks sounds about right. My starting weight was 266 and I signed a 34 week contract to lose 100 pounds by August 4th. You are doing awesome so far and I can't wait for us both to get to goal!!! I also plan on kicking up the exercise in 2009.

I did have my first weigh in today and I lost 2.5lbs since Friday. WOW!! What it in these pills?? I am not as hungry during the day and I am sleeping better too.

Welcome Laura and congrats on your initial loss! What pills are you taking? I only take multi-vitamin, flax oil and MRC-6 (its the only one I purchase from MRC) and I swear it feels like I am shrinking! Also, as far as sleeping better...Amen to that. I have been sleeping-eating and waking up several times a night for over 7 years and now I fall asleep at 10pm and stay asleep until 6am (7:30 is sleeping in for me now!)

Calorie Question

out of curiousity today, and after weighing in and losing at total of 21 pounds in 4 weeks, I decided to see how many calories I was consuming a day. I am following exactly to plan (the meta-slim-plus plan) and they add up to only 910 calories a day. I am not complaining, because I am losing an avg over over 5 lbs a week, and I am not hungry...most of the time it takes me forever to finish off all of those veggies. I don't know if I should mention this to MRC, I hate to bump up my food intake..but THEY are the ones who make the menu!
Here is my avg day with calories
Kiwi HNS 70
egg 70
2oz hard cheese 200
flax bread 40
jello HNS 70
8oz raw veggies 50 (I eat a lot of cucumbers and celery)
can of tuna 100
orange 50
pudding 80
bread 40
fish 90
8oz raw veggies 50
=910 calories!

There are days where I may cook fish in 2 tsp of EVOO or have a chicken breast, or make a salad and use salad spritzer(sp) dressing but for the most part, this is my daily intake.
I guess my question is..Does this seem right? They say as I lose more weight I will have even less to eat! Although I must admit, I am supposed to have 6oz of protein at lunch and dinner and the can of tuna is a 5oz can and the fish is already pre-packaged at 4 oz

Thats good information to know about the calories. I was wondering how many calories you intake. It seems like if it goes lower each menu, it would be unhealthy. I am soooo over lettuce and salads. I feel like I have it coming out of my ears!

I did o.k. during the holidays, not the best I'm capable of, but by no means did I binge or indulge like I would have if I wasn't trying to lose weight. I would give myself a B+ if I were to be graded. I am stuck in between 168 and 167- have been since Christmas Eve until today. I am hoping my body will kick back into high gear soon. I also hope I didn't get kicked out of ketosis. I haven't weighed in since Christmas Eve. Need to go in- but nervous :o that I'm going to get in trouble. I have not kept up on my food diary either.

I need to regroup and reorganize for the long haul. Anyone with me? Or anyone have any motivational words to get me going again? Please help! Lots of love!!!

Does anyone know if fat & carb blockers help you retain water or weight? I lived off fat/carb blockers over the holidays and I didn't eat horrible, but I didn't eat perfectly either- and I haven't been able to shake the extra pounds? I have been OP for 40 some odd days. Do you think I should switch to another pill? I am currently taking MRC-6 & All Day. What do you think?

I am on the All Day Weight Loss pills, MRC-6 and Flax oil. I have not started the food program part yet... I have cut out all my snacking and sodas and I am trying not to over eat but I think my weight loss was just from me taking the pills.... I feel full and I don't even want to snack. Usually when I diet I just can't stop thinking about food. I am excited to see what the first 4 day food plan will be. Judy at MRC told me it is restrictive BUT I can do anything for 4 days!@!! I have a wedding to look good for LOL. SHe said after those 4 days it gets easier. I hope that is true!

Intro

Hello,
I went to a center today, after reading almost every post listed. I missed them by 15 minutes.
I am 80 pounds over what I was when I got married 13 years ago. I know that some weight gain is usual, but...
Will the center tell me what my goal weight should be?
I like everything that I have seen about MRC so far, so now I just need to get in for a consultation and find the money!
I will definitely be around.
Thanks for the support that you all have done for everyone so far.

That's about right - this is a low calorie program. It's just put together so that you don't usually feel hungry (balance of higher protein and low sugar/starch). You were closer to the green menu with the lower amounts of protein, and you were eating the lower calorie protein (fish). Over the course of a week you'll eat more calories some days (when you have beef or pork or even chicken). A 5 oz can of tuna may turn out to be closer to 3 oz of actual tuna when you drain the water off it. You should be sure to weigh your protein & get in your 6 oz for now, though.
But like I said - in the end, this is a low calorie program - it's why it works so well. ;)

Hi Jeanne!
I just went for my consult last week. They do tell you what your goal should be. They put you on the scale and weigh you and tell your weight, body fat % and break it all down for you. When I went in I “thought” I needed to lose 40 lbs but they told me I only need to lose 33 lbs to be at a perfect weight for my age and height. I am in Ocala FL and the MRC here is running a special right now for 6 weeks mini program and it was $99.00 plus the herbs cost which will be different for everyone. In that 6 weeks if I stay on plan I was told I was guaranteed to lose 3 lbs per week so that would be 18 lbs. After those 6 weeks if I am happy with the program I can extend the program to the full year and they will take the $99.00 and add it as a credit so I was told I would then pay the additional 199.00 for the rest of the plan.

I have only started with the All Day weight loss pills, the Flax oil and the MRC-6. I adjusted my eating to “watch what I eat” but I have not had the food class yet. I can’t wait to see how I lose after I know exactly what to eat. I went in today for my first weigh in and I lost 2 ½ lbs so far. I am NOT hungry all the time and the pills I take at bed time put me right to sleep which is something I am not use to. I have had lots of energy during the day too. I hope this info helps. I am a newbie myself and I too have read everything that has been posted on here and have found it sooooooo helpful!!

Best of luck to you, Laura

Isn't that the most amazing feeling! I was shocked at what a diff. that 40 lbs made! How was the skiing at Vail? We were so cold at steamboat but it was fun! We are hoping to go up again next weekend.

Tina

It was very cold and windy on Saturday (sometimes there were whiteout conditions). They had ALL the bowls closed that day. The other two were cold but good.

We are now coming back for the month of January and renting an apartment in Minturn. Certainly need to make use of our Epic Pass.

I got a new pair of ski pants for Xmas (size 10 Spyder) can't wait to wear them.

I did horrible for xmas. But I got right back OP the next day. It was not worth it after I thought about it. All the salt and sugar tasted good going down but I felt fat immed. I went to weigh in and was up 2 lbs. Not bad for all the food I ate. I am mad at myself but also happy because I did not bring any baked goods home and got OP the next day. I am so impressed with all of you. I come back for inspiration. It always takes me longer to lose weight but at list Ifeel like I can do it this time. And it won't take me 2 years. I stareted working out again today. I walked 3 miles and feel great now. I am ready and am planning on losing 4 lbs when I go back to WI next monday 2lbs by friday. Channel me some power girls. Thanks for all your post even though they are not to me it helps.

LauraM-
Thanks for the info!

Meemo-
You are awesome! Thanks for the calorie info.
My biggest concern is if I will be hungry all the time. I do not want to think about what I eat, or when I get to eat again. I have been on diets when I am consumed with the foods, timing and staying OP. I want to eat to live not live to eat!

Have fun wearing those new pants! I got back into my old ones! My new ones sat in the bucket:( But guess that's a good thing. I do need to go look for some new pants but think I'll make do and wait until the end of the season! We are hoping to sneak up to Winter Park this weekend for a day! Looks like the weather should be pretty good.

lv2ski2004 12-30-2008 09:53 AM

I went and weighed in last night and did measurements. I maintained my weight over Christmas which I was excited about! I have lost 49 3/4 inches since I started. My bmi isn't where they want it to be so I did sign up for another 10 weeks of program! Guess now I need to change all my goal weights. I did feel good about that. I would be fine where I'm at but after talking to them and realizing where the muscle mass should be I need to build that up and lose a few more!

So here's to another 10 weeks!

congrats on maintaining during Christmas :) and an even bigger congrats to inches lost :carrot:
My question is, if you (not you personally, but anyone in general, gets to what they think is a weight they are comfortable (and happy) with, but it isn't what their "guidelines" say, will they put you in stabilization or tell you to buy another package?

Also, today was the first day of "intentional exercise" for me. I have been claiming I have been walking 30 minutes 3x a week, because I had been doing a lot of walking around in stores, the mall, ect...but nothing to break sweat. So today I got back on the Wii Fit, which I hadn't done since August. I did 30 minutes of step aerobics. Whats sad is that even tho I have lost 21 pounds so far with MRC, on the Wii Fit it said that I have gained 19 pounds since August! Wahhhh!
