When I went to my 1st food class today there were 8 people in the class. The insturctor,Judy, said each of us were different and that out of the 8 of us there would be 5 different meal plans. I assume this is based on how much weight we need to lose. Does anyone know the order of the color menus? I was given yellow along with one other person in our group and then told we could go so I didn't get to hear about the other color menus.... I was just wondering if since my yellow menu if only for 4 days what I might be getting next. Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get all of the vegetables in? The only veggies I like on this plan are green peppers, cucumbers and lettuce....it gets a bit boring after a while. Also, does anyone know if I will totally throw everything out of balance if I replace the 4 oz of cooked vegetables with raw vegetables? Lot's of questions for a Saturday morning!! |

She is someone who can eat anything and lose weight so she really doesn't get it. I am going to eat my salad before I go and my item that I am taking for the party is a shrimp platter and veggie tray so at least there will be something for me too. :) wish me luck!!! xoxo, L:)

need encouragement to get back on track
OK bear with me. I have never gone to a forum before,:?: so this of course is my first visit to this site also. I have heard so many people at the center I weigh in at talk about this sight though.:) I started plan in August 2008 at 225 pounds, by the end of September I had lost 23 pounds :carrot: and then it took until two weeks after Thanksgiving to get to 29 pounds lost:mad:. I hit a very long plateu!!!!!! Going into the holiday season, it was too much and I chose to eat what I wanted:nono:. I have gained 7 pounds back so I am at 201:cry:. I really liked feeling and looking better and everyone at work was complementing me on my success. I need to get back on track and be serious again. Please I need encouragement and advice because I am afraid of a long platue again and cannot deal with that when I stay on plan and eat the same chicken and vegetables all the time(or so it seems).

Ramie-
Get back on track. I know that is easier said than done. I have been reading the posts from "the maintainers". They are the ladies who have been there and done this. If they are not at goal, then they are almost at goal. They have had challenges also with the holidays. Get back on track, your body may surprise you and you lose that 7 pounds quickly. I am sure that others will chime in here, and let us know how you are doing. Jeanne in Jax |

You've probably seen Namaste's U-turn analogy - if you're driving and realize you're heading in the wrong direction, you don't just keep driving in that direction, you make a U-turn & get back on the right path. It's a whole new year - time to make that U-turn and start heading back in the right direction. If you haven't been exercising, now's a great time to start. Doesn't have to be a lot, anything more than what you've been doing is a good beginning. Also, be sure you aren't really eating the same things all the time - shake your body up. Eat your beef or pork a couple of days a week, add some fish to your diet. Shake up your veggies and your fruit. Don't let your body get too accustomed to the same fuel mix all the time. |

Finding this site is what prompted me to go ahead and go to the center last week. I signed up on Wednesday and will have my first meeting on Friday the 9th. I am 5'6" and weighed in at 230. I originally wanted 160 because I'd seen a chart in a dr's office somewhere that said for my height I should fall in the 138-158 range and every woman in my family is large chested so I rounded up. The numbers they gave me at the center were 164 to 182? Anyone else get numbers they didn't expect like that?
I'm EXTREMELY worried about cost of this thing. I've only signed up for 6 weeks right now so I can try to pay this out by reenrolling in another 6 weeks if necessary. If I maximize my loss and reach the 30 in 6 weeks potential I'll be less than 20 away from the highest number she gave me. I had a friend who had really good success on this plan and dropped out before maintenance because she couldn't afford it either. I'm sincerely hoping not to have to do that but I'm on my own here with no other resources to exhaust. Right now the numbers are my biggest question.... |
I know it probably sounds vain, but losing 30 + lbs., was well worth every cent, and I would pay it again. I have lost and gained so many times in the past. I wish I had done this 15 years ago. I swear sometimes, it feels like magic :) I feel wonderful, and proud of myself, instead of depressed and hiding under baggy clothes. I have learned to cut back my spending in other areas of my life. Are you currently taking any prescriptions? I have been able to cut back on 2 = saving $ right there! I will be starting maintenance on Mon., and I really believe you need it to succeed. Hope this helps! Mindi

Ramie, as for eating the same foods...have you bought the MRC cookbook? My sister and I live on this!! There are soooooo many good recipes...Texas Chili, Honey Mustard Chicken, Summer Salad ( a cole slaw), Peach Berry Cobbler, CHEESECAKE!!! that I make every week. I also cook ahead and freeze things so they are ready when i want to eat...not starving and have to find something. There are also great recipes here on this forum. Mindi
P.S. As for sticking to the plan, I made up my mind that this was it once an for all....and I remind myself of the cost, and don't want to waste that $$$. Think of food as FUEL, not ENTERTAINMENT :) |
