I go back after work today to get my measurements done b/c I didn't have time when I stopped in during my lunch hour. I really really want to be as close to 170 as possible for Halloween. I will post my measurements after I get them this afternoon!

What is the difference between the regular program and the stabilization program? All I know is that you start that when you reach your goal.

You start stabilizing your weight when you get within 5 lbs or so of your goal weight. You gradually start adding foods to your menu so that you don't have a sudden big influx of calories. They expect you to lose 5-7 lbs during stabilization. There are 5 or 6 "additions", you add something different each week, and you have to maintain your weight or lose to move on to the next addition. Once you've completed stabilization, they give you your official maintenance menu.

It depends on your computer & browser. You should be able to bookmark the main MRC page. For me, with Firefox on a Mac, I can click on "Most Visited" on my Firefox toolbar & it always pops up there.

I just posted this on another thread this morning:

MSM, methylsulfonylmethane (METH-əl-sul-FON-il-METH-ane) provides sulfur, a vital building block of joints, cartilage, skin, hair and nails, and methyl groups, which support many vital biochemical processes in the body, including energy production.

All but 1 apparently, but I have been working out so hard, and taking 5 protein drinks a day, so I sure HOPE my metabolism is blazing! Will probably go WI tomorrow, and unless my kidneys kick it up a notch, will be up.

Guess that has me nervous, being on stabilization. I am 7lbs from my new goal weight, so I have 4.5 weeks to lose 1lb... Then they put me on stabilization. Have TOYED with the idea of just keeping OP until my goal date, and then going on Stabilization.

With my BDAY being my goal date, Nov. 3rd, and then T-Giving 3 weeks later... Not sure how to plan it out.

IFFFF, it takes you 12 weeks to finally finish stabilization, becuase you are up and down some weeks, will they do that?

lesset01 10-02-2008 06:31 PM

I just had my measurements taken and I've lost a total of 18.5 inches!!!!

NWARN 10-02-2008 06:54 PM

Ok... I start my first menu tomorrow and I am already starting the self sabotaging thoughts!!!!!!!! UGH! At least I am aware, I guess. Here is what is in my head - Is this really going to work? Am I going to be able to stay on track? Will I really loose the weight for good? Maybe I am one of the people that no matter how close I follow this program I just won't loose the weight...

I feel CRAZY!!! Did anyone else feel this way at the start of the program?

Today was a TANITA and measurement day for me. I have lost 15 pounds of fat in two months. Lost 0 pounds of muscle and have lost 25.5 inches. I'm pretty proud of all of those numbers.

Those are wonderful numbers. You SHOULD be proud!

I have made several batches of the MRC pancakes on a Sunday afternoon and stored them in freezer bags and pulled out a batch each day--super quick in the morning and I love the texture using the steel cut Irish oats, as recommended by Meemo. Also, this week, I've been grabbing 1 already boiled egg and 1 oz of cheese, which I measured out the night before, and that's been a quick breakfast. (Thanks again to all who taught me how to boil an egg!) The main thing I want to do in the morning is minimize the clean-up.

My late night treat is a mug of MRC hot cocoa. Over the summer, one of the West Texas girls was raving about root beer floats using the vanilla pudding creamy and Diet Hansen's root beer, but having to wash the blender at night turned me off of that. (This clean-up thing seems to be a pattern.)

Awesome progress! Don't underestimate the power of a dog walk. My beagle went home with my parents while repair crews were working on my exterior stairwell, and my losses tapered off without our daily walks. I also noticed that my cravings have increased without our walks. I think she'll be coming back soon, so that will be a mixed blessing.

Hey girls. I am on day 6 of the beige menu. How often do they change menus? Just wondering.

You will probably go to the green menu around 200 lbs. The major difference is that you get 4 oz. of protein instead of 6 oz. Also, you can drop your HNS to 2 a day, but I think you can have a max of 5 a day. Otherwise, I think the menus are virtually identical.

Yes, the first week that I started , I was PMS ing and it was awful . But I kicked and screamed my way through it. I have lost 9 pounds in 16 days .. Glad I stuck with it, you can too!! It does get easier. Let the HMS do it's work by making helping you control your hunger and you'll no longer crave stuff. Remember it's mind over matter and if you don't mind, it don't matter:df:

Wow - get busy for a few days and you miss a ton!!

So many great new pictures posted - you ladies are such an inspiration! Such amazing changes going on.

Congrats to everyone on losses and NSVs - everyone's making such great progress.

lv2ski2004 10-02-2008 09:35 PM

Congrats to everyone on your great successes! What an inspiration you all are! My kids were soooo happy tonight b/c they found out we can still eat at Noodles(Our families favorite place). I did their mediterannian salad and had them keep off all the extra stuff and ordered 2 sides of grilled chicken breast! Then had my melba toast. I told them Panda is still off limits with mom. I don't think I could have any self control there.

It's been a crazy week with my job and was almost pushed to eat one of hubby's homemade cookies but resisted the temptation!

Have a great Friday!
Tina

I think, pretty much - it takes what it takes. I started in October (around the 19th I believe), finished Dec 31. Didn't exactly blaze through. That's close to, what? Ten weeks?

NWARN: That's exactly how I felt when I started the program 2+ weeks ago. I had so much doubt in myself, thinking there was no way I'd be able to stick to something like this and that I'll never really lose this weight. I still have some of those doubts, but I have followed the menus exactly so far and am gaining some confidence in my ability to do this. I've lost 8 lbs on my home scale--still have a long way to go--but bottom line is that it's impossible NOT to lose weight on this plan. If you're willing to follow the rules, and be a little creative w/ your food prep, you can reach your goal!

The people on this board constantly remind me that following the plan works. Just take a look at the amazing losses here. I also have a friend that lost 80 lbs w/ MRC and looks amazing--if she can do it, I can do it.

Also wanted to agree w/ a previous poster: the first 10 days are TOUGH. If you can survive that, I think you will find the final menu much more do-able. Also agree w/ max out your HNS drinks as they really do help control hunger.

lesset01 10-03-2008 09:33 AM

NWARN: I have a horrible pattern of self-sabotage! It always happens right after I have a big loss or something. For some reason my mind gets filled up with "This won't last" "You don't make it long enough to lose all the weight" "What is one more serving/snack/whatever going to matter?" But I just keep telling myself to hold out one more day, and one more day and one more...If it gets too bad I just go to bed even if its only 7 in the evening just to avoid being awake to cheat!

alexiah 10-03-2008 10:50 AM

lesset- I do the same thing i rather turn in to bed early just to avoid a cheat!!

Well everyone i have not been on in a while , i got promoted at work and have been real busy i was a nurse at my clinic and now i am the buisness manager! I have been ok on plan have not lost or gained but i really need to get pop so i can continue to lose ..hope everyone has a great day and WELCOME to all the newbies! God bless!!
