I didn't even eat powdered donuts before MRC, hmm they sound so yummy now.

Have a great weekend everyone! I know the next month I will probably maintain weight, but this gives me hope hat I can still lose inches!
Well look at you now, shining like a rock star. Congratulations Shannon I'm happy that you're happy isn't it just awesome when someone takes notice of your progress. My boss told me the other day that he hardly recognizes me anymore. That's the nicest thing he has said to me all year (okay I have to laugh at that)
I have a funny little NSV to share - maybe some of you can relate, well maybe not you Ryan , I actually noticed it early last week but probably just coming to terms with it hehe. I was walking to my cubicle when all of a sudden it dawned on me that all I could hear were my footsteps. No swoosh swoosh swoosh of my thighs rubbing together, I just thought that was the coolest thing, my thighs are not rubbing together anymore YAHOO YIPEE HOORAY!!! Who'da thunk that I would even notice a silly little change like that, today my thighs stopped going swoosh swoosh. Okay well it's my friday laugh of the day
Just got back from WI and I'm down 2 so only 6 from goal Had a long talk with my counselor about my vacation, staying focused & making good choices. I really feel strong enough to make the right choices--hopefully that feeling will stay with me
Wow! You're so close and have come such a long way.

Isn't that exciting! I love the looser clothes too. During my business trip this week I was able to comfortably wear things that haven't been comfortable for quite a while - even some things that were shoved to the back of the closet because they didn't fit. I can't wait until I can get rid of those things and get new things in even smaller sizes!

Whew - finally home from my business trip. It turned out pretty good - I did have one off plan meal each day (except yesterday), but I made the best choices possible given the circumstances. And - was proud of myself for the changes that I saw - like eating a reasonable amount at a restaurant instead of eating an entire entree because it was there and/or tasted so good. Making time to workout while I traveled - even though it meant walking through the lobby in my yoga pants (which I wasn't embarrassed to do - and you couldn't have paid me to do just a few months ago). Just little things that let me know that I'm not just dieting - I'm making a lifestyle change.
Went to WI this morning and was unchanged since my last WI (6 days ago), but I'm not disappointed with that given the travel.
Now that I'm back home I'm back on plan and looking forward to recording a loss at my next WI!

Awesome! That is why I don't wear corduroy! Maybe I will have to reconsider when I lose a few more inches in my lower half!
BEEN EXTREMELY sluggish/tired/lethargic for about 1 week now... Can't figure if it is fall allergies kicking in, my body getting tired from the fast weight loss, the weight lifting (though I took a 4 day break from gym - still tired)... Anyone have similar feelings? Mentally, it feels like my body fighting back a bit.
Hi Schoon...yeah, I've had trouble with bouts of feeling sluggish/tired/letharic off and on since I started the program. I haven't been impressed with the Liquid Minerals on helping with that, though I think they are GREAT for leg cramps. The thing that seems to help me the most is to eat beef and something else green. My personal preference is canned spinach, though that's not on plan. Sometimes I need to eat beef more than twice a week, and that's usually what pulls me out of the funk. Also, though, sometimes I just need to go home and sleep. The weird thing is that I usually have a big loss immediately after one of those bouts. Oh, and the one time that I really deviated drastically from plan and ate pizza and a cookie cake, I felt as though I had been on a pub crawl, so be mindful of whether the sluggishness was triggered by eating wheat or sugar. It took a long time to lose the weight I gained from that night.

Anyhow, I had not been exercising at all...and on Sunday went with my husband and purchased a treadmill (we've both been wanting one). I have walked 25-35 minutes a day since Monday. I have stayed OP totally this week...and hope to see some results on Saturday at WI.
Rosemary--I'm glad you got your Avatar photo to work! It sounds like you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Making sure I get plenty of water seems to help as much as anything, but I can't imagine that you won't start seeing a loss after all the walking you are doing. Keep your chin up!

Look at you! I'm so impressed at your planning ahead! I bought an insulated lunch box last night for my Tuesday/Thursday class days because of your good example! Now, I've just got to remember to fill it and take it with me. BTW--Insulated lunch boxes are on sale at Target right now. Some are as inexpensive as $1.98, down from $8 -$10.

Shannon--I thought I read a post where you discussed developing a pear shape, but I can't find it. If I'm not daydreaming and that is the case, hang in there. I lost from my face first, then my chest, then the sides of my torso and my arms. I think I'm still losing in those places, but it was noticeable there first, and it seemed like forever before I got to move into smaller sizes on the bottom. In fact, the last time I was home (2 mos. ago), my mom pulled me aside and said in one of those theater whispers, "I hope you'll stick with this diet. You'll eventually lose on the bottom and won't look like such a pear." Thanks, Mom! But she was right, and I'm more evenly proportioned again now. Congrats btw on all those inches! That's the best part!
Hey, does anyone know how to ADD a pic to our profile? I took another one today to see if I could see a difference and it just replaced the other one. I want to have a series of pics like some of you so I can see my progress.

That's AWESOME! I think Meemo or Gma just said in a post that a good counselor recognizes that success is making the best choices possible when you can't eat on plan. And congrats on the portion control! That's always a challenge for me.
Hi everyone! I have recently decided to come back to MRC after I left the program a little too early to maintain the loss. So...needless to say I am having to re-lose some of the weight that I originally lost.
With that said I am excited to get back on program. I just finished pre-conditioning and will start day 1 tomorrow. I figured if I wanted to make this work I need to make the commitment to plan ahead. I took the shopping list that they gave me in the center and tailored it to just be my menu plan so that I could choose from anything on the list. I then printed out several copies so that I can use this each week when I go to the grocery store. For me having a list like this will help me to not deviate from what I am intending to get from the store.
I am really hoping that I can make it to goal this time. I always get so close and then I sabatoge myself and end up gaining some of the weight back. It is a vicious cycle for me. I think learning to accept that I deserve to be thin is probably going to be the hardest part for me. Well, here's to a new beginning.

I think you can only upload one pic in your profile - to have more than one pic you need to photoshop two or more pics into one pic. (That's how I did it, anyway.)
Well, I finally went to the food class tonight--WOOHOO! I was so excited to finally get my menu. Now I need some advice from all of you experts:
I am going to a football game tomorrow. I will be inside (or to/fro) the stadium between 10:45 and 3pm. The only way I could do Day 1 would be to have "lunch" at 10:30am, then have two HNS between lunch and dinner. My counselor thinks I should just wait until Sunday to do Day 1, which probably makes the most sense but I'm just anxious to get started!
Think back to your first day on the yellow menu--am I going to starve to death if the only things I have between 11am and 6pm are two HNS?
Part II to my question: If I don't start Day 1 tomorrow, should I still have the HNS?
Thanks for any advice you can give. Congrats to all of you who are having so much success right now--you are an inspiration!
Kim-
I just started the program on Labor Day Weekend and that weekend was spent camping with the pre-conditioning. THEN the following weekend we went out of town with friends! It was hard to stick to the time frames but I still lost.
I would almost recommend waiting a day when things are calm and you have no distractions. Stick with your pre-conditioning menu for one more day!
I truly don't get hungry until late afternoon then I always have to do my HNS at that point because my evenings can be very hectic running kids but it is getting easier.
Good luck and whatever you decide to do will work!
Tina

Okay, that sounds way too technical for me! Maybe someone on here knows how?
Meemo: Good idea - I will definitely ask them why the short 5 week term was suggested! Hopefully I won't be asked for another 400 bucks in 5 short weeks. Ugh.
Thanks to you guys who replied...I go to WI tomorrow morning before work...my fingers are crossed that I see some progress.
Congrats to all of you who had success this week...both on the scale and off! I agree that when clothes start feeling loose - it's fabulous motivation! No matter what Tanita says...LOL.
