I always squeeze a lemon slice in my water....I'm not sure if lemons are forbidden on MRC? It just helps me drink more water since it actually tastes like something....I'm hoping it is ok, because I just purchased many lemons to get me ready for MRC sign up.

Question...can the HNS supplements be included in the 64 oz. of water required per day?

My center told me that they were separate, just like if you drink tea, it's nto included either. I don't understand why because I always thought liquid was liquid, but apparently not.

Hi everyone...I just have to vent here (sorry) I had the worst day I have had in FOREVER...I won't get into it just know it was a BBBAAAADDDD day. The good news is I didn't eat (or drink and trust me, a stiff drink was tempting!) but, I stayed OP and didn't cave... I was proud of myself...I really hope that tomorrow is a better day...did I mention this was a BBBBAAAAADDDDDDD BBBAAAADDDDD day?

MRC is the only place I've seen say water mixed with something doesn't count as water. Every medical source I've seen says you count everything you drink as your "water" intake and also realize that your food has water as well. There is such a thing as too much water (liquid) it can kill you - that marathon runner I can't remember how long ago died because of it.

I think that may be a way for MRC to get you to drink more water...I often wonder about how much is too much water to drink...how do you know when it is not safe anymore...are there warning sides?

Still was wondering about the lemon slice added to water...do ya think it is ok?

Symptoms are similary to dehydration. Confusion, slurred speech, loss of consciousness, etc.

I have see someone die of drinking only distilled water. This person basically flushed all the elecotrolytes out of her body causing a fatal heart arrythmia. Your heart needs sodium, potassium, calcium, etc. to pump and if you are low on these you will feel your heart flutter or feel palpitations.

The general rule is to drink half of your weight in ounces. For example a two hundred pound person should drink one hundred ounces of water a day. This is the general rule for healthy people who don't exercise or exercise only moderately.

Most diet centers push a little more than that but it's usually good advice. If you have any concerns, ask your doctor for a blood test that checks your electrolytes. You're results should come back that same day and your doctor can advise you from there.

I honestly don't know. We're allowed 1 tsp of lemon juice per day. I would check with your center to see. I'm afraid they might say no, but you won't know until you ask.

I'm finding that there are just certain things that I like to use with my foods to help me personally eat them and give me enough variety to maintain this for the long-haul (no-salt ketchup for my meat (as I've always had ketchup with all my meats), manwich (just enough for the flavor), the 'heart healthy' spaghetti sauce (again enough for flavor), SF syrup (1 tbsp) on my french toast) and other things). I know these off program items might and prolly have slowed my weight loss, but for me to do this for 6 months I've got to do things that help me get through this. What about the rest of you? What sorts of things do you do, if anything, to 'help' you with this program? I hope I'm not alone in this.

I totally agree, you have to do what gets you through the time to lose the weight. I have decided to treat myself to a small reward each Saturday. Not enough to ruin my week but enough to reward my good week and also provide me with something to look forward to. I couldn't do it otherwise...Is it really worth losing all that weight if you are miserable the whole time? Also, how long will you keep it off if you are miserable on the food plan? Not long I would think...

Jennifer, that's exactly what I think. I (not anyone else) have to be able to live with this plan not only for 6 months, but I'm making a lifestyle change too. So I hope I can do this with my adaptations to the program.
