( I mean apart from keeping hunger at bay how does it help weight loss?? its really sweet & at the end of the day all those calories do add up rite?? also d u guys follow a fixed time 4 dinner ?? most weight loss plans emphasize on dinner before 7 and not later than that .. does it make a difference on this plan if u have late dinners?
Hey, MountainGal---I can't believe I'm on day 3 of the yellow menu already! It feels like it's going fast (maybe that's just what I'm telling myself ) I'm getting a little sick of cucumber but it's not too bad....I am going to have more trouble on Thursday b/c that's when I start the blue menu and have to start eating protein at lunch AND dinner. I am more of a vegetarian who eats chicken every now and again.... So, we'll see how it goes. How are you doing on your yellow menu??

As far as the 7 pm thing....I've heard both things. I've heard from some that it does matter but I can tell you when I did WW and now MRC, they say that a calorie is a calorie within a 24 hr period of time. In other words, it doesn't matter when you eat. I personally feel better and see better results if I don't eat past 7 or 7:30pm but that could just be an individual thing. Also, the HNS is supposed to help us from losing muscle, etc, as well as keep us full. Hope that helps! Keep up the great work!!

mountain gal, even though the HNSs taste sweet, they only contain 60 or 70 calories depending on flavor. 15 grams of protein at 4 calories per gram for protein . . . doesn't leave much room for anything else. If they taste too sweet, dilute with more water. It is hard to get enough protein without getting more calories - any good protein food will have more calories and other things like fat and carbs. Yes, the protein helps us feel satisfied and protects our lean muscle mass, so doing more than the minimum will help you lose fat faster without burning our lean muscle mass.

shopgirl, MRC has many different menus so I do not know which one you are on but I was on the yellow/blue/green and had to have 4 oz protein for dinner right from the start. 1 oz Protein at breakfast, 2 oz lunch, 4 oz dinner on Yellow, 1 oz breakfast, 4 oz lunch, 4 oz dinner on Blue and green. I have heard there is a vegetarian menu for those who do not eat meat, maybe you could combine the two so you will be able to get enough protein at each meal.

RonnieAdl, the only thing I was told about timing of meals is to not go more than 5 hours between meals and do not skip meals.

Good luck this week every one, jeanette

Reuselady---I am on the yellow/blue/green plan. I started the yellow menu Sunday and will start the blue menu on Thursday. I checked out the veg. menu when they were deciding which one to put me on but I thought I'd rather try to choke down some chicken or turkey than eat tofu....I'm not totally against eating tofu but I've never done it, so I thought I'd go with the above.

As far as meals go, I guess I'll have to get the recommendation of my center but I'm a nurse and work 12 hr shifts. I live an hour away from work so I wake up at 5 a.m. and eat around 5:15am We usually eat at 1 or 2 pm then I get home at 8 pm. I'm going to be going quite long between meals. When on WW, I would eat a piece of fruit, almonds or protein bar, etc, between meals (so I would be eating every 3-4 hrs or so. That worked well for me but there's no eating anything between meals with this. Any suggestions???

They told us that too.. They said you will start burning muscle and other things instead of fat.. I think I would rather burn the fat!

Cheers Ronnie

Girl, BRING ON THE EGGS!!!! I soooo can't wait!!
I plan on making a plan for the next 2 days and seeing what times I should try and drink my HNS's. I may even have to set my watch in 3 hr increments to eat/drink something! LOL! I know that sounds anal and it prob is but if I go into this w/out some type of plan, I know I'll starve and cave! Well, I'd prob just starve b/c at this point, I'm too set on not going off plan!

Talking Question

On my blue menu, I now see oatmeal.. However I see no milk in the menu. Are we supposed to eat it plain? Not so sure I can do that..

Cheers!

Red face Another question

Are we allowed ground turkey? I have 99% fat free turkey burger and I was going to make a burger with it.. I don't see why we couldn't but thought I would throw it out there and see what the concensus is..

YES!! You can also use buffalo burger - tastes just like beef and is considered equivelant to ground turkey etc. To make the turkey burger jucier, I recommend mixing a little olive oil into the meat before creating the patty :0)

Thanks Karen 1234! I will make turkey burgers tonight.. You don't happen to know about the oatmeal milk thing do you? I wonder why they have oatmeal on the menu and no milk? I wish I could find buffalo out here, but I have never seen it in the stores I shop at. I should call around and see if anyone carries it..

Cheers

Hey, MountainGal! How did it go??? I went this a.m. and refused to eat or drink a thing before I stepped on the scale! LOL! I guess I was rewarded b/c I lost 3.5 lbs!!!! Yippppppeeeee skipppppeeeee!!

I know what you mean about getting to eat the egg for breakfast....yummy!! When I ate an egg for the first time on this diet, it was like the best thing EVER! For lunch, I diced up cooked chicken breast that I had made the other day (4 oz, of course) and added it to the creamy chicken and veg HNS.....man, it tasted like HEAVEN!! I have just been craving something different. If you haven't tried that, I def recommend it!

Ok, girl---can't wait to hear how you did. I know you rocked it....either by inches or pounds lost! I'm rooting for you!
