Hello All. I started the program a month ago. I have been doing pretty good during the week staying OP, but weekends are REALLY hard for me! I tend to do well in the mornings on weekends but by the evening I've fallen off the wagon. I have not gone into the center to weigh in for a week, as I feel terrible about not sticking to the program. The ladies at my center are supportive but I still cannot seem to get the courage to go WI until I am on program for at least 3 days straight. I know that I need to stop beating myself up about what is already done. Everytime I think about the money that I have spent I get more PO'd at myself! Any advise?

You sound just like me... I do great during the weekdays, but weekends are killer tough. But you are right- you can't beat yourself up for what you have done, only move forward. I COMPLETELY understand how you are feeling.

The best advice I have heard during my 2 weeks on the program is to just take it one meal at a time. Choose to eat on program for breakfast first, then for lunch, then for dinner- break it up into smaller chunks and it may be a little easier. Sometimes it is easier to think of it that way. Bottom line is at every point you have a choice to make- and you may not always make the right one, but ultimately, you know what you need to do.

I would go into your center and talk to your counselors. I know it is hard to admit you have eaten off program, but they may be able to offer some advice as to how to stay on program a little easier on the weekend.

I hope this week is better for you! I know you can do it!

Hello! I am just on my second day of conditioning, so barely started, but reading your posts is SO inspiring! My biggest problem is that i have two teenage boys (both overweight) and a skinny husband. Trying to cook dinner for everyone and keeping them happy is what I am most worried about. The recipes in the boards, are they ok for everyone to use or only on certain weeks of the plan? I am doing this long distance by email and phone, am waiting on my drinks to come in, then will start the first part of the plan. On conditioning can you use any of the recipes? Thank you so much for any info you can give!

You will do fine. I am the only one in my family that is doing the program. My husband eats the meals out of the cookbook but he does his own thing as far as weight loss. I think the recipes are fabulous (the ones that I have tried). Some of the recipes are for specific weeks on the plan. If you have the cookbook it will tell you the week it is appropriate and what it will replace such as supplement, protien, veggies, etc. You will do fine. Just stay connected with your counselor or on the message board here.

When I started MRC my biggest concern was feeding the rest of the family too. What I did was plan out my week of dinners on Sunday. This way I would look at what I was supposed to eat and plan around it. Sometimes I would add a side dish for them. For example:

Monday- baked chicken, steamed brocolli, pasta side dish (them), melba toast (me)
Tuesday - buffalo (or turkey) chili, salad, rice (them), toast (me)

I tried out the receipes in the cookbook and on this site - some were hits and some were misses. I also looked at my receipes and changed them to keep me on plan.

FYI: I found it easier to measure out my food BEFORE I called them to dinner!

Thank you for the advice/ I have to get the cookbook, then cause I honestly do not know how to cook healthy. I am a southern girl, taught to cook the old fashion southern way! Now I have a big old fashioned Southern butt to prove it! lol.

Check out the recipe thread on this forum- there are a lot of great recipes that are all MRC friendly on here. It may be worth getting the cookbook too, but definitely check out the free recipes here!

And think of it this way, even if you get a little bit of hassling from your kids, maybe they will learn to eat healthier through you! One of my counselors said that there is no harm in our kids eating the way we do, although they definitely could use a few more calories- doing what COMom said and just adding healthy starches here and there would make it easier for you and healthier for them! Good luck!

Great advice Alexasmama, thank you! Got a question, please. I am waiting for my supplements to come in. I did the 10 boxes for $90. i also ordered the MRC and the flax. Is the MRC the same thing as the Phenatrim? (not quite sure of spelling) and if not does anyone recommend it?:^::p

I'm not sure about the supplements because I'm not using any right now. You may want to post this questions on the MRC Take 33 thread because there are alot more people who have been at this journey longer than a lot of us on this newbie thread. There is a lot great information over there!

Good luck!

Sure thing, Alexas, and good luck to both of us!!

Hello all,
I just started MRC today. I completed the pre conditioning week with a 2 lb loss and was so encouraged. I received my diet plan last night and I am on the Meta Balance program. DH was wonderful and attended the class with me. He does quite a bit of the cooking as I work a lot of crazy hours. I wanted him to understand how the MRC program works to help facilitate my success. I am so glad I found this website and other MRC members.

Have a great weekend.

Congrats to you!

2 lbs is great! My hubby does about half of the cooking so we're both lucky to have very supportive spouses involved. To make things easier we plan the weeks menu in advance together then typically shop together so we both know each day what to expect and prepare - that really helps with staying on plan. I keep my menu plan taped on the inside of a cabinet door so he can refer to it in case he has any questions or doubts while cooking. He's got it pretty much figured out now and has been very helpful. This website has been wonderful with great info and recipes. Good Luck on your journey!

I started my pre-conditioning on 4/9 and am down 5 lbs so far and it's so encouraging to know that just my simply changing my eating habits (and taking all those pills) are working so far and I've only exercised once.

I go to my food instruction class on 4/24 and am really apprehensive about what's going to change for me as far as what I'm eating. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I wil be doing differently as far as eating goes?

BTW I LOVE this site and hopefully it will be a great source of information and support as I begin this life-changing journey.

Hi everyone

I just signed up on Monday and have been doing the preconditioning since Tuesday. I have my first food class tomorrow and I have a question. The counselor told me that I could have up to five of the drinks per day, but only have to take 2-3. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the results with different amounts? I am trying to decide how much of what to buy. thanks

I started with 3HNS (the drinks) a day, but eventually went to 5 a day (Breakfast, mid-morning, Lunch, mid-afternoon, after dinner). When I took my food class, they offered a special on the drinks and supplements. I made the mistake of getting too many "creamy" drinks, so make sure you get more of the "clears". They only want you to have 1 creamy a day, so I would save my "creamy" drink (the hot cocoa) for after dinner.
