It's delicious...you don't even know you are eating squash! I bet you would like it. ;)

I find it odd that some have mentioned being on several different menu's for a few days at a time, then finally settling on one. When I started I did the preconditioning, the biege until 200 and now the green. I wonder what the differences are and why some have started that way. Anyone know the answer? Just curious.

Have a great day everyone!

I started off on the same menu as you. I believe for people 199 and under, they do the yellow, blue, and then finally the green menu until their goal weight. I was confused too at first.

i haven't tried to make spaghetti-squash spaghetti yet but i am concerned that i am not culinarily savvy enough to make a successful attempt... i am seriously very "challenged" in the kitchen, hehe!!

I'm also "kitchen challenged" but spaghetti squash is very easy. The way I make it is: puncture the squash all around. Then put in the microwave for 3 minutes per pound on high. Take it out of the microwave (it will be very hot) and let it cool for a few minutes. then cut it in half length-wise. Then scoop out the seeds. Then scrape it with a fork for the spaghetti strands. It is very good. The scooping and scraping can sometimes be a little messy.

I like to bake scallops and put them on a dinner plate on top of the spaghetti squash. Its almost like spaghetti and meatballs. For my husband I add spaghetti sauce, but for me I eat it plain.

I have been going since November. Hope all is going good for your program.
I haven't seen many on here from Oregon.

I go to the Beaverton Clinic. I like the ladies out there. They are very nice and supportive. I did my weigh in today and have lost 13# total since the 17th of August. I lost 11 inches as well so I am pretty excited.. I already dropped one pants size. I think there is another person on here from Portland but I can't remember who. Good luck on the weight loss..

Ronnie :)

Ready to go!

Went to my food instruction class tonight! Soo excited to get going with my menu tomorrow and HNS too! I stayed the same during preconditioning but I also weighed in the PM vs the AM so I probably did lose something. Really excited to start seeing the weight come off! Can anyone tell me how to get my weight info on the side like you all have? Not the ticker b/c I know you can't have that at first, but one like this 207/207/167. Thanks for your help!

Thanks it worked! Can always count on you "Fifties Lady" for all the answers! I'm sure it won't be my last question. :)

I know---Fifties Lady rocks! She always has the answers to my crazy questions.

Btw, how did you feel about class tonight?? Do you feel like the menu is reasonable, etc? I'm nervous b/c I'm anticipating all the restrictions. Although, I ate my lunch right beside a MASSIVE chocolate cake and didn't have a single slice! It was a super crazy day (delivered almost 20 babies today)! Whew! I was proud of myself for not giving in. Yea!

But here is my question. I am already drinking 112 ounces of water, and I need to drink more???? At what point do you have an electrolyte problem from drinking too much water? I've also heard of "water intoxication" from drinking too much water. I just wonder how much more I can hold. I am in the bathroom all the time! OK,.... I'll drink more water......but I am really uncomfortable!!!!

SkinneyWallet--a good rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces....so if you weigh 200, 100 oz should be ok (that's a very general rule of thumb in the medical world) and that's just to stay sufficiently hydrated. Most people can drink more than that amt and lose weight. I would always check with your doctor, though. You can google hyponatremia or water intoxication to look at signs/symptoms if you're nervous or concerned.

shopgirl , i went in 4 my first nutrition class today and im excited 2 start the program come monday. it does look a lil daunting though- breakfast looks something like this - 1 bread + 1oz cheese +1/2 small orange! (n oh there isnt any meat for lunch :( :( but the lady there told me that this menu will be only for the first 4 days .. then u switch to the blue menu (which has few more additions ).. n then finally to the green menu where there would be actual food groups 2 choose from.
but she was really encouraging and there are lots of classes u can sign up 4 ! im hoping we newbies have a pretty successful week next week :) leme knw how it goes 4 u tmrw :)

Oh, wow.....that's a little daunting! :( We just have to keep telling ourselves we can make it for 4 days. I'm just gonna put blinders on and look straight ahead. We can do it......right?!?!?!?!? I'll let you know about class tomorrow.

Wow--
So I had my first weigh in and I'm down 3 lbs!! That's from preconditioning (Tues-Sat)! Yippee!!:carrot:
I thought about you, Mountain Gal, and how you're in the same boat with me....eating oranges and cheese for the next 4 days! LOL! I'm nervous but I feel better about it today than I did yesterday (I was afraid of the unknown).
My nutrition "class" was more like an informal mtg w/one of the ladies that work there. She gave me some handouts and breezed through them! I left without a calendar, without the liquid minerals and without the fiber fill drinks! Everything happened so fast.....they were also out of EVERYTHING...only had 2 choices for liquid HNS's and 1 choice (pink lemonade) for the powders! She told me they didn't get their shipment for this week and they're expecting it by Monday. So, I paid up front for some orange and grape liquid HNS. I think I'll pick them up Monday or Tues. I got a box of the kiwi melon and the pink lemonade powder. I'm nervous about getting through these next 4 days w/out any fiber drinks! Don't know why I'm so freaked out about it! LOL! I just don't wanna be hungry I guess.
Please tell me how your first day has gone.....I'm so curious! Only 3 days to go (for you) on our yellow menu! Yea! You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
