Hey Jenn,
Congrat's on the huge weight loss! That is awesome and very quick results - I'm wondering, did the dizziness occur day 1 or 2 on meal plan? I know I felt terrible Saturday my day 1 after pre-conditioning. I felt very tired, light headed, very thirsty and sapped. I have been drinking about 85-100 oz of water as well which I increased as I my thirst increased as well. It got better Sunday and has completely gone away today. I am back to feeling good, thank goodness! The vits were making me nauseated so I started taking them slowly - I take 1 after my breakfast, wait a minute and take another etc. That helps and I just repeat this throghout the day and the nasuea has improved. Whenever I ate a salad or HNS I felt sick again but again, it all improved by Sunday. I would just keep up with the fluids, you might feel better after dinner with a little carb in you. I noticed your WL goal is 100 lbs and mine is the same so we can help encourage eachother on our journey. Good Luck and hope the dizzy's get better!
Karen

One more thought, are you taking all you vit's - specifically MV? You want to make sure to replenish your potassium etc. with the MV. Have a great night. Karen

Thank you

Thanks Karen,
I am here for the long haul. Tonight I have felt soooo hungry! It is nuts! As for the plan I am on, well I finished my preconditioning and I started my beige menu today. I am taking B6, my reg meds, and switching MV's cause the one I take makes me feel sick. I am also going to take my Oil pills at another time of day, they make me have to use the RR and I can not keep getting up at work and leaving my desk. I hope this passes tomorrow, I know easier said then done. Tonight I am fine, feel better than I did at lunch I tell ya! Whew! I am off to bed for the night, here is to a great tomorrow :D

I went to MRC after work and was down 4 lbs, I could not believe it after Friday. I was happy. I talked to the girl about my dizziness and she really had no explanation which kind of worried me a little bit. Oh well, she said just keep up the good work. I drank all my water and then some today. Oh I also told her I felt more thirsty today-she said drink more water. I explained that I already drank 100 ounces so maybe I would drink some crystal light. Have you experienced any of this? Thanks for the support, I am here for all of you as well. Jenn

Hi Jennifer,

I did experience some dizziness and felt a little lightheaded the first few days. I thought mine had to do with caffeine withdrawal so I started with one B-12 supplement and it went away so you might try that or just wait it out because mine was gone after the first couple of days. Being thirsty is good...read your hand out on water that your center should have given you. Drink it cold and drink alot! You are suppose to have eight 8 oz glasses a day or about 2 quarts but an overweight person needs one additional glass for every 25 lbs of excess weight. Also the more water you drink the less hungry you will feel. Congrats! 4 lbs is great! You are doing awesome!!

I'm new to MRC as well - Today is day 3 on plan for me and have lost total of 6 lbs! Very excited. I became concerned about getting bored with the food as well so I purchased the MRC cookbook for $12 and found some great recipes under Entrees that will really help with variety. I plan to try a few next week and if good, I'll post the recipes.

Good Luck!
Karen

Hi Karen!

Welcome to this awesome community! You are doing great, I just wanted to say congrats on your loss....you are doing wonderful, keep up the good work!! Boredom set in for me after a few weeks so the cookbook is a good idea, also check out the recipe thread, I have picked up some great ones there! Good luck!

Did you not do any of the stabilization/maintenance the first time around? It seems this is where a lot of people gain the weight back, because they didn't do the maintenance program. Is that true for you?

Don't be afraid of success, it is there for the taking, embrace it! You will not fail, you have more strength than you know and you will do great, I believe in you! It is so very worth it and so are you!!

Yes, it is true for me, I did not follow thru the last time. I reached my goal weight and thought that I could maintain without the center. I also didn't have the money to pay for maintenance so I stopped going. :o I regret it but it was definitely a lesson learned. I will follow thru this time around!:carrot:

Ok so I went and weighed in yesterday and I stayed the same, no gain, no loss. I was a bit discouraged but she reminded me that it was time for my measurements and to get on the tanita scale again. Everything looked good and I am on track for my goal AND I lost a total of......31.7 inches in one month!! She said it was very good and I am happy with that!!

Good luck with your weigh ins everyone!! I have set a steep goal for this week....170 lbs by Saturday....don't know if I can do it but I am going to give it my all!!

Karen,

I have tried setting goals, but it seems that I never make them. :( Then I just get depressed and want to give up. How do you respond if you do not meet your goals?

I have been on the program since November, and I am at the point where I just want to EAT. I am tired of the strict dieting - especially after not losing a pound this last week and sticking to the diet. It cost so much for supplements and program, that a week without weight loss is like throwing a$100 out the window!

What keeps everyone motivated??? Help!

I know exactly how you feel, read my post from yesterday in the MRC Take 38 or whatever number we are on.. I feel the same as you. I was at the point of quitting but instead I came on here and got a lot of great inspiration. Then today i went to my center and talked to them about how i was feeling... It was all good that everything i ended up feeling happened.. One major thing i know i do is focus on the big picture verses the smaller stuff that gets you to the bigger picture.. Maybe try super super small goals that you know you will make, but i totally understand how you feel about being tired of being on this strict of a program and just wanting to EAT... But remember how much time and money you have spent and is EATING whatever you want worth risking having to start all over. Someone on here made a good point that this is just temporary restrictions for a life long journey of eating healthy..
Hang in there, i know its tough, but the support on here is awsome and will help you get through it!!

I found it helpful to look at small goals--the "big picture" was just to overwhelming and seemed impossible. I took things in 5 pound increments and would also focus on getting to the next 10 pound level (240's, 230's etc). If I thought 100 pound to go, it was just way too depressing.
And it's very normal to have a week or two or three where you don't lose. But I bet you ARE losing inches! And looking and feeling a whole lot better!;)

Marys Gonna Do It 02-24-2009 08:43 PM

Hey all...

First off, I want to say welcome to the newcomers, Karen, Chyna, NewMe, Jennifer and Badbaum! Yay, it's a great program so far I swear! :D This week has been a bit grueling because I am at my plateau days I think. I have not gained or lost and it's been like 3 days, though I am not discouraged; I am sure it could be a couple of things...ahem...especially being a female if you get what I am sayin!;) But in the famous words of Bob Marley, "Don't worry about a ting, ery little ting going be irie!" :p I just keep on trucking and experimenting to keep it interesting. Poop happens! Or life...which ever you prefer. I just wanted you all to know that I am expirementing with recipes traditional ones and incorporating/modifying them into an acceptable MRC diet and if any of you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, simple, filling, asian cuisine; I am going to post my recipe on the lunch/dinner thread. I made it for the whole family and they loved it and had no idea how good it was for them...even the kids ate it. It's a Rice Substitute Asian Cabbage Roll...I know it's making your mouth water just thinking about it, right?! It took about 30 min. start to finish! Lemme know if any of you try it what you thought!

sherryanncard 02-25-2009 08:50 AM

Wow! 100 pounds! Congratulations!!! I do forget about the inches - too focused on the scale and that stupid number. But you are right, I DO feel better about myself - guess that is reason enough to keep on going! Thanks for the advice! :)

Weird Question

Alright, I can not find Melba Toast anywhere. I went to Wal Mart last night the lady said um we dont carry it, I went to Krogers, could not find it. Any advice where I can get it from? Or should I look in another area? TY in advance-

Also I am going to try this asian cabbage- sounds very good!

Laura,
Thanks for the reminder about how great this site is. So, I waited 8 days, but I finally went and weighed in at the center - still stuck, but my counselor did the perfect thing...he recommended I do Medi Quick the next coupleof days, and then he showed me my BEFORE picture - that will get anyone motivated! lol Honestly, after seeing that picture, I know that I do not want to go back there, and so today is a new day. :)

I had a hard time finding it but when I buy it at king soopers it's in the cookie isle with all the special cookies etc... sometimes with the other crackers but not often! Good luck!

I am suprised Wal-Mart doesn't carry it because I mainly get mine from there. They are probably just being lazy. The Wal-Mart here in Omaha, that I go to, I never ask them for help. They are so rude and could careless about there customers. Sad, but I still spend a lot of my money there. At another grocers (No Frills) store they have the Melbas in the Ethnic aisle. So, try that one as well, but at Wal-Mart there is not much variety, but they should be there. I had to look hard too. I think they only have the rectangular shaped ones, that I have noticed!

Good Luck,:dizzy:

Thank you. I am going to run to another local grocery store and try to find it. I really would like some so I can have my home made salsa I made :).

I get mine at Super Target. I love the round roasted garlic ones. I am not crazy about the plain rectangle ones.

I concur...

Plain is so drab! I love the garlic ones and if I do an asian meal I eat the sesame ones, but mostly the garlic!;)

Just a question because this has never been brought up in any of my meetings....I am on the green menu now and get a little bit more to eat...am I suppose to eat all of it even if I am full? Ugh...I don't know how much more I can take...lol...Is it okay if I do a salad with chicken and wait an hour then do a fruit smoothie? I can't do them all in one stting...I will EXPLODE!

Thanks,

Mary
