Vbevens,

I won't quit. I am just a bit frustrated. I have to keep in mind that I am 46 pounds lighter, and healthier than just 3 months ago. I bought my husband a bowflex for Christmas and I think maybe I should start getting my act in gear and just start working out. I also have p90x dvd's and those actually look fun but very hard. My problem with working out is I am not motivated! When I was younger I worked out 6 days a week and loved it. Right now I am not there. I need to just do it. My brother in law is getting married in August and I would like to be back to my pre weight gain weight by then but I also want to be toned. The only way that is going to happen is if I start working out.

How about everyone else? Does anyone else lack the motivation to workout? How did you move past it?

Have a wonderful day!

P.s. I've changed my ticker to start where I am now. It sounds like a lot less weight and may actually end up being more motivational for me.

Jen

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been around. I caught that HORRIBLE, NASTY, UNFORGIVING flu pretty bad. My daughter came down with it 5 days later, and NOW my son has it. UGH!!!!

I'm totally shocked. Last week I cheated BIG time! One of my students gave me a little personal heart shaped cake. I told my co-worker to remove it immediately. She didn't. All day long that damn cake called my name. At about 1:00 when the kids went out to PE I thought that I'd take one bite and throw it away. At about 1:15 I decided that I had to destroy the evidence and I ate the rest of it. Somehow I managed to still lose 3 pounds after that. I really was so disgusted with my self. It wasn't even that good.

How is everyone else doing? Brooke, are you leaving us?? Girlie!!!!! I'm going to miss you!!

No, I am not leaving Samara! I am addicted to this site. I also find that I still love my MF shakes. So I incorporate them. Sorry you had the flu, a co-worker has it and was out for a week. I just have a nasty cold.

Only 300 calories in today and it's almost 8pm. I got stuck in the mall with all 3 of my daughters. My oldest is home and I love having them all together. At 24, 22 and 19 it doesn't happen very often!

Have a good week!

Jen,
I used to be very anti exercise. BUT after you do it for just 3 weeks, you start to like it. I also joined the Presidential Fitness Challenge. It's a web site where you can track your exercise and "earn" real medals (that you can purchase). I'm about halfway to earning the bronze. When I have enough points, I'll get the bronze and work toward the silver and so on. It's a huge motivator to me. Check it out. http://www.presidentschallenge.org/

Brooke,
I can understand not wanting to continue if "nothing's moving." I read on the MF site that some people take flax - supposedly that helps....

Samara,
I think you got a good deal! Cake and 3 pounds? I'd take it!

I took flax, flax see oil capsules and the little pearl things. My body doesn't do well on low carb and I knew that going in but thought the pearls would help. Oh well...

I still have a cold and no appetite. You know how you imagine going off of MF and what that must be like?? I know I did. Well, it's not any dream come true. It's much more work to plan and count and I haven't even tasted the forbidden foods on my list. Last night I actually had a dream about a cupcake but I am not going to give in! Knowing that I could work it into my daily calorie count almost makes it harder. Does that make sense??? I had 2 MF meals today, comforting.

I am 20 pounds from Onederland! That will be sooo exciting!

Flax meal is the best! I put it in my oatmeal, my MF cookies that I bake from the oatmeal and Vanilla shake (OMG they are soo good), and anything else I can think of. It keeps the pipes humming!

How are we all doing? Anyone hear from Flo? Hope she is doing well.

When I get back from my vacation I will be ready to do some sort of exercise challenge, anyone up for it?

Brooke, Yeah, I hear ya! "Hmmm....if I went OFF MF, I could have this and this and this. I can diet with "real" food! The reality is that you backslide and work much harder than tearing open a packet. I hope you find what's right for you. We're not carbon copies, and you need to do what is right for you. That said, I hope you find something EASY!!

Vbev, I'm up for it! It sounds like fun! There's a 12 week work out program from about.com. They send you a week's schedule at a time. Basically you do aerobics 3 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. I like schedules, so I'm going to give it a try. When are you back from vacation?

Maya???? Meowee?? Ruth???? Flo????
Hello?? Hello?? Hello??

Hi group,

I have a question about the flax. Can flax seed be used? Does it count toward calories/carbs? I am a once a week kinda person and it drives me crazy. Anyway, I think I need to do something to get things moving. I can't imagine that it is good to have things staying around that long but I have just moved off my plateau and I don't want to do anything to stop that. What do you all think?

I used 1 tablespoon of the seeds in my shakes. The bulk gets into you but the nutrients don't this way so I don't think all of the calories count. It's not a lot if it does.

Michelle, thanks. I think calorie zig zag is my thing. I lost the first 45 by just eating healthy but hit a plateau at 40 lbs. That was frustrating so hoping that the zig zag prevents that.

I think Flo is on the pg part of this site. Where did Maya go?

Default Hello

Just wanted to say hello. I ordered MF last week and haven't heard anything yet about it actually being delivered. I'm excited and eager to start. My weight gain has been due to years of having really bad asthma and being placed on Prednisone. I have been Prednisone free for about 2 1/2 yrs now and I was able to lose 32lbs on my own by exercising. I hadn't gained or lost any weight since then until last month. I gained 10 lbs and find that I need to be more proactive about my weight loss. I'm glad to be here and I enjoy reading your posts. Hope I can contribute to the posts every now and then.

Lely

This week will be interesting. It's that TOM and I've gotten insatiable cravings in the past. I ALWAYS bloat and well, you know. So far teeny cravings but nothing major, easily controlled, especially since there is so much going on right now I forget I wanted anything.

Brooke,

Thanks for the information. I am definitely going to pick up some flax seed. I sure hope it doesn't change the flavor of my shakes too much. It was hard enough for me to get used to the banana shakes and that is almost all I have left!

michelle-let's do it! I get back March 9th so we should start that week.

I too like schedules so that would be great. There is a large group of people doing the Couch to 5K which is a download from Itunes (free) that also sounds interesting.

Hope everyone has a great week or so, I am out of here soon!

bon Voyage

Vbev, Sweetie, I CAN'T do the C25K yet - too fat. I tried it ALL last year. Fuhgetaboudit! But, we can work out and have a friendly competition! Have a wonderful vacation. Make SURE you come back! We lose more people to vacations....

Jen, I don't know if Flax is an approved addition, but yeah, you count the cals and carbs. If I had trouble in that area I would NOT hesitate to add flax or some other type of "help." Isn't there an oil you can take too?? If you run a search on the MF site, I'm sure you'll find all kinds of suggestions.

Welcome Lely!

Zeute, the first time is the toughest. Do your best - no regrets!

I'm am sicker than a DOG! I don't want to miss any school right now (Big state tests coming up and 2 parent conferences tomorrow). I'm gonna go to bed and plan to go to school, but honestly, it will be a MIRACLE if I'm feeling better. Gross...

Hope everyone is well,

I only added it to one shake so 1 tablespoon per day. I made it sound like I added it to every shake. Also, I've read that fish oil capsules help. I don't eat fish so that sounds nasty, wonder if they are??

Michelle, you were just sick. Poor you.

Zeute, you are doing so well! 8 lbs. I craved less on MF than I do now. MF is so sweet, it's hard to want more sweet stuff.

Have a great trip Vbevens! Where are you going again??

Just decided to take my middle daughter and drive to my mom's in FL for spring break. My mom is there in the winter and all we have to do is get there and then we mooch. I am tired of snow. DH can't go but he thought we might like to take our 8 mth old puppy... no!
