I'm pretty much done with the shopping, and have a lot of wrapping left to do. We'll be on the road pretty much non-stop from the morning of the 24th through about 6pm on the 26th, then we are done. Some years, we have had events all the way into January, but not this year.

Hope you all are doing well.

Everything's good here! We have a landscaping project being finished today--nothing major, but with one thing and another it has taken two years to get it done! And then we can relax at last.
We don't do much holiday stuff, but that's fine. We have some lights up to celebrate the return of the light starting on the 21st.

DH joined a gym. It's a place called Variety Village and it started as a facility for disabled children way back when. Now it caters to a wide range of people. DH is a lot more comfortable there than at most of the upscale places and he's been consistently going 3x per week for 3 weeks now. That's more than he's ever done and I'm glad he's finally getting into an exercise routine.

I'm carrying on. Trying not to obsess about things I can't change. Nowhere to get Christmas Swedish gingersnaps so I got regular ones at the grocery store. Missed out on an online bargain for a decoration - all stores are now all sold out - so will not spend a couple of hours online looking for an alternate. No point in intentionally making myself

Doing my favorite part of the whole holiday tonite - decorating the tree. I have ornaments that date back to my childhood and as I put each thing on the tree I remember where it came from and the Christmas times I decorated the tree with my mom. I also have things that my clients gave me and remember each dog that is associated with a particular ornament. I'm not putting much on the tree this year as we got a small tree so that we can fit the people into the house!

Good morning, old friends!

I found my way back here after about 9 mos off. All is well. No change to my stats, have maintained my weight all year.

All this talk of Christmas-related chores gives me a little panic. I'm always last minute. I literally have not lifted a finger. I will go buy stuff today, I figure.

Hey Folks, I've been thinking that since we're over 450 posts, and since the new year is coming soon, we should start a new thread come January 1 and use it for all of 2020. Clearly this one went beyond spring and summer into fall and winter!

What do you all think? And what should we name the new thread?

Great idea JayEll! What about the incredibly clever name of Maintainers 2020?

I like that! How about: "2020 Foresight: Maintainers Chat for 2020"?

Merry Christmas to the cadre of maintainers.

(The name suggested for next year sounds great.)

Merry Christmas and happy New Year everyone! I'm in favour of Jayell's suggested thread name too!

Good morning, maintainers!

I have eaten heavier the past few days, but now I intend to go back to healthy, lighter fare. No interest in winter weight creep over here!

It's all over but the shouting now! Just New Year's Eve to get through. Any plans?

Since I stopped drinking New Year's Eve has been a non-holiday. I go to bed at the usual time. New Year's Day I take the dog for a long walk, watch the sun rise, and feel grateful that I don't have a huge hangover.

Happy New Year to everyone here!

Our plans are to stay home, warm, safe, dry and sober. I'll have a few hours of reflection on 2019 and how I can make improvements in 2020.

May 2020 be a good year for us all!!!
