I can always lose the pounds when I come home. I just don't want to gain that much! I'm hoping all of the walking we do will burn off those foods I do eat!

You definitely won't gain that much, just keep my best friend (whom I hate lol) lemon water by your side lol. I've never seen your b&a pictures but you must look amazing! treat yourself to very cute (but expensive :() clothing, you deserve it!

Nance: WTG on your weight loss :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement... I'm starting to get serious about stepping up my workout routine.. From nothing to something..

I need to start walking again, now that the snow is melting on our street!

Barb316 01-08-2007 01:11 PM

Evette, go and enjoy yourself. drink lots of water and the walking will help! I grew up on Long Island and I love NY! The city, Long island EVERYTHING about NY I LOVE!

hdsqrl 01-08-2007 01:46 PM

Well, TO is over and I'm officially down 2 more pounds. My at-home scale showed a loss of 3 pounds, but I did weigh in wearing jeans (which I do most of the time) and it's almost that TOM, so hopefully I'll see another sizeable loss later in the week again. :)

:carrot:

They also took my measurements, and the girl who measured me this time held the measuring tape WAY tighter than the girl who did it last time, so I don't for a second believe the 16.5 inches she reported to me, but maybe it's 10 inches? I'll take the 10 as a for-real loss. :D

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...I'll get there someday! Almost at the 50-pounds-to-go mark! (how depressing that sounds, hah!)

Rebeca 01-08-2007 01:55 PM

Hellow Guyz!!!

Dan- Its great to finally have a male opinion around here! WELCOME!!!

Ljackson- You still looking as hot as hot can be! You go girl!

Brazil was wonderful, DH didnt enjoy himself at all, but I ate everything I could and visited all of these crazy people that somehow think i am related to them and I still remember things of when I was 7! But it was fun! The food was unbelievable and I walked lots and lots while down there! Cant wait to go back!

I have been hitting the gym even though the diet part hasnt been perfect but i am trying to improve on that! By Valentine's day I am suppose to be down almost 8lbs...lets see! Have a good day all!

BusyBee3 01-08-2007 01:57 PM

Good Afternoon Ladies,

I went to WI at lunch and wore my unlucky (but pretty) red sweater.....I typically don't worry about my clothes when I weigh but this one always gets me.... Not up a whole pound but still made me sad afer such a good weekend, walking, lemon water, and thinking positive. (Thanks to all of you!) My COD said it is a huge sweater so we'll see.... I think TOM might be knocking at my door also. :(

Barb / Deb / Everyone - Thanks for the information on the bars! Chocolate anything is good - LOL! I also love oatmeal raisin cookies so will try that first. I have had the PB South Beach bars and looked at the nutrition label on the Pria and thought they looked good. I think we have Cliff Bars too. I will do some comparing....still have plenty of lites.

BoosMom / Pearl - Thanks for the help with Sunday. I did talk to COD today and she gave me a couple meal replacement samples. Starting this Sunday I will start my day a little earlier and eat a better breakfast. (This past Sunday I just had a yogurt and a lite and didn't get home until 3pm) Yikes!

JulieMarie - What a FANTASTIC idea!! Updating my que today!! I'm up for some belly dancing!! :) DH/DS/DD's will probably laugh their heads off at me though....

Have a wonderful afternoon!!!

bizlawchik 01-08-2007 02:05 PM

Hi chickies (and Rooster Dan). I haven't been here in three days and I have a lot of catching up to do! I am going back to read the threads now, but wanted to say hi to everyone. I am home today because of the back thing, so I missed WI, but I have been OP, although not POP, and the scale is moving in the right direction. Can't wait for Wed. WI. I'll catch up with you guys as I read how everyone's been doing.

hdsqrl 01-08-2007 02:11 PM

Yay! It's Cassi!!

ChocLabLover 01-08-2007 02:17 PM

Dan-One of the wonderful things (or not so wonderful things about the virus) is loss of appetite. So in terms of being POP, I wasn't in the fact that I did not eat anything except some juice and chicken soup.

Prazteam 01-08-2007 02:19 PM

Afternoon all!

Jason- Maybe I'm the only one "gutsy" enough to respond! :lol3: What does your girlfriend/wife call you if Ol' man refers to her dad? I love learning other's customs! Here in the country where I live it is a "redneck" term considered by most as disrespectful, although some use it jokingly. I think you're fitting in great! It's so good to have you here and so successful on LAWL too!

Evette - I'm so excited about your trip! What a fun way to celebrate such a blessed day! I was wondering... would you be willing to share how many inches you've lost with 81 pounds gone?!? I just can't even imagine it but one day, I will know first hand!!!!

Carol - Great to see you back! We've missed you. Sorry to hear you've been under the weather like so many others! Feel better girlfriend!

Katie - OMG - I am laughing out loud!!! I'll bet your dh was HOPING you wanted to do some exercise to that DVD!!! You probably WILL NOT live that down for a while and dh might hold on to it for blackmail purposes!! :lol3:

JM - I'm a dork too! I've had netflix a lot longer and I didn't know they HAD exercise videos! (but then again... I'm just getting to the exercise idea - so maybe I'm just a dorkette! Give me time... I'll graduate in no time at all!

Tina - OH NO!!! I know NOTHING about braces first hand... but could you sort of chop them up like granola and eat them? Just an idea... Seems I'm full of ideas (among other things!)

Lori - FEEL BETTER! Maybe time for some warm broth or soup? I wish I was near - I'd come over with some! I'm still trying to think of a way to do that via mail! Next day delivery of LAWL homemade meals...

Nance - WAY TO GO!!! 2.4 is awesome!!

Megan - You made it through TO! Way to go girlfriend! 2 pounds is a great start to the week! And 10 inches - WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!! (did you hear that? that was my front porch dinner bell ringing for you!!!) :) If you think 50# to go is depressing... try 110#!!! That's why I don't post my ticker that way! I'd feel like I'll never get there. Instead, I do small/medium goals! Can only eat an elephant one bite at a time! Hmmm, elephant.... is that on LAWL?!? :)

Rebecca - You gorgeous hunk of woman you!!! So glad to see you! Valentines day = -8# ... You can definitely do that!!! So, keep up the great work!

As for dh and I - I deliberately fed him the same way I eat on red and guess what - a loss of 1.6# this weekend! Ta duh!!! Think that tells him anything?!? He really does need to go back to RED!!!
I'm down 2.6 - that's 1 pound less than pre-holiday! :woo:

Okay - gotta go. Keying... keying... keying...
Blessings,

Repo girl 01-08-2007 02:25 PM

Nance- Great loss!!

Cassie- Good to see you! I downloaded an exercise routine that you can do on the rack when your back is better, LOL.

BusyBee3 01-08-2007 02:28 PM

Thoughts about water weight....

I am always looking for something to drink so typically I get much more than the 64 oz's of water, at least 24 oz of coffee, most of the time a green tea / lemon water in the evening, and also maybe a diet coke at lunch, etc... I bought some new "Eliminate" that is sappose to help with excess water weight but I only used it once because I am afraid of spending even more time in the restroom. ;)

Anyhow, I will ask my COD but has does anyone know if drinking too much all the time would cause a bigger fluctuations in weight from day to day. ?? A lot of times I am up one day by a little the next down quite a bit.... It is 2:30and I already had 72 oz of water....

Thanks.

donisha81 01-08-2007 02:33 PM

Nisha: AWESOME WI!

Mama Nicole 01-08-2007 03:01 PM

WOW.......it looks like everyone is getting back on plan and doing very well. This is good. So far today, I am POP, and I am going to remain that way at least for the remainder of this day!

CASSI........good to see you. I was really starting to get worried.....between your back and post holiday blahs, I was just crossing my fingers that you would be back soon to cheer us and you on!!!

KIM...........so happy to see you too. You don't know how many times I think to myself........wouldn't it be so fun to meet up with some of these awesome women for lunch once a week. Oh well.......at least we have this cite.

JONI......I keep wondering about Holly too. I also love her menus and advice......she's no joke. If you hear from her, let us know :)

Everyone else..........I hope you are all having a POP day, or at least a OP day!!! I cannot play too much today (at least I hope I don't). I have a MOUNTAIN of laundry waiting for me to wash/fold/hang/put away. I also have a bedroom to paint, a ceiling and hallway to patch, oh heck, I won't bore you with my chore list..........we all have them :) Have a great day ladies and gents :)

ljackson 01-08-2007 03:11 PM

Good to see you back Rebecca- Thanks for the compliment, although I will never look as good as you do in a bikini! Hang in there, I have slid a little backwards too.

I often think the same thing. I talk to all of you more than my in-person friends! DH has started asking me about all of you!

OK, so I was all on track, POP for a few days and I messed up at lunch. Not like.. MESSED UP, but certainly not on plan. I had deli homemade soup, of which the #1 ingredient had to be salt, closely followed by other not so good foods. Darn. Back on the horse, girl!

Speaking of OP, I made the chicken and veggie loaf from my LAWL cookbook - it was really good. DH even liked it. That's a keeper.

Barb316 01-08-2007 03:42 PM

I keep reading about the chicken and veggie loaf. I may have to try this one.

Mama Nicole 01-08-2007 03:46 PM

i just hate any food name that incorporates the word "loaf" in it, unless it is bread.

Kimphin 01-08-2007 03:46 PM

I recommend it. For 1 P and 3V, it is worth it! I did not have zucchini, so I subbed celery. Still yummy.

Well - you do have a point....

winkie03 01-08-2007 03:56 PM

Pearl, i didn't measure myself when I started because i was too afraid to, but not that i look back i wish i did. All I can tell you is that in pants, i went from a size 16 to a 4. In tops I went from a 2x to a Small/Med depending on the type of fabric. I truly wish i had measured myself. I did take measurements 2 months ago. :(

winkie03 01-08-2007 03:58 PM

BTW...I know this is random, but is there any one here in the hotel business? I really need a hook up for a nights stay in New York City! Boo-hoo! Rates are so expensive!

Joni135 01-08-2007 03:58 PM

Our buddy Oz is on Oprah today....I'll have it on in the background and report any amazing "must knows."

Evette - I'll check with a NY friend who often stays in the city...she always seems to come up wtih good deals. I'll PM you if I help. Oh, what date(s) are you looking for again.

BusyBee3 01-08-2007 04:01 PM

Dan - wondering what "no-salt" is.... Is it a brand of seasoning or something like Mrs Dash? Does it have potassium? Before LAWL I never added salt to my food except if I was cooking with it.... but last week I started getting leg cramps. (especially in my left leg) I started using the Mortons here and there and they have gone away....I would prefer not to use it though.....

Christine

Hey Everybody!

Wow, so many posts since my last one, I can't even begin to try personals today!

So, :welcome: to all the newbies!!

Congratulations! to all the WL Losers!! :dancer:

:goodluck: to all those who still have WI, and to everyone to stay POP.

I had a pretty good day so far. I had clinical today, and didn't really get to eat too much, I made up for it when I came home. Although my choices today were healthy (tomatos, cucumber, RF PB w/celery and an orange). Have to play catch up with my water too now. But, I'm staying away from the junk.

Well, got tons of homework to do right now, so have a great day everybody!
Sherry

dolphn545 01-08-2007 04:24 PM

Evette - I'm jealous ... I only live 1 1/2 hours from NYC, and I still haven't been there. One of these days...
And you DESERVE a shopping spree!! You have done awesome with your weight loss!! WTG!!

Joni135 01-08-2007 05:03 PM

For Women Only_Dr. Oz on Oprah

This guy just knows too much!!

Lots of talk about Poop - I'll spare the details! I'm sure you can read all about it on Oprah.com

Steak dinner can take 2-3 days to digest. Fruits and veggies come out in 12 hours; (another reason to eat our fruits and veggies)

It doesn't take 7 years to digest gum -- just 2-3 days like other stuff so quit fibbing to your kids!

Where does gas come from? The avge person passes gas 14 times a day; women have more intestines that men so we actually have the potential to pass more gas than guys!. Gas comes from foods, especially foods that don't digest well. Foods with lots of sugar, beans, carbonated bevges, chewing gum.

Why is some gas worse than others - foods with a lot of sulfur cause the worst gas. It follows you and gets in your clothes and stays there. Don't pass gas and walk back to your friends....take a detour!

Best way to wipe - you should wipe / dab front to back.........cause your rectum carries bacteria forward and this is why UTIs are so common...only 55% of the women do this right.

Ear wax problem - excess ear wax. You should not use swabs......instead put a drop of mineral oil in your ear to clear it out. If you use a swab you are mashing stuff back in.

Take vitamins BEFORE you get on an airplane!

Toilet seats do not spread STDs........toilet seats are relatively safe; Hot Tubs are not as safe!

To help with bad menstrual Cramps - motrin (a day or two before), diet & exercise, warm pack, BC pills, and acupuncture.

don't wear a tampon more than 6-8 hours! It's a medium for bacteria.

Bad menstrual clots are a signal of fibroids! - go get checked!

truelies 01-08-2007 05:39 PM

Barb: Chic/Veg. loaf is really good, I eat a slice every day for lunch because it counts for 2 V

Kim: I believe it's only 2 V.. I'm gonna check my book just in case, I'd love for it to be 3!

Barb316 01-08-2007 05:46 PM

I got my new LAWL cookbook from ebay today. I am SO EXCITED... :dancer:

I will be putting post its and stuff on the recipes I want to make... I made some recipes from the other book I have now I will tackle this one. I noticed that alot of the recipes are the same in the books.

Kimphin 01-08-2007 05:46 PM

oops - yeah, 2V.

No Salt has been around since I was a little kid in the late 70's or early 80's.. It's basically pure potassium.. It has a VERY strong taste, so I don't use much at once.. There is also another alternative called "AlsoSalt", but I haven't tried that one yet..

We keep a can of Morton's around, but I try to use the No Salt.. We both prefer the flavor of the lite salt, but like you, I'd rather not deal with any more sodium than is already in our food...

You can find No Salt in the salt and spice isle at the store...

Barb - Have fun with the cookbook.. It has some really good stuff in there.. If you like cheesecake, you will be VERY pleased with their recipe.. Liz loved it!

Kimphin 01-08-2007 05:50 PM

I take potassium instead of the Morton's. I couldn't stand the rock salt taste (probably more pronounced because I never used salt before) - I used it in the beginning, until I realized that I was 'ruining' (for me) the taste of the food I was finally allowed to eat on plan.

Barb316 01-08-2007 05:52 PM

I too do not salt my food to much. I like to use no salt seasonings or make my own spice blends. I am looking forward to reading my cookbook. What i have found with it is it is good for making lunches the following day and when my fiance wants to eat on his own (which does not happen to often LOL) I can just make the 1 serving from the cookbook..
I would rather eat a food that has potassium instead of getting it from salt.
My fiance had me go out and buy sea salt when I went shopping b/c he heard it is good for you...

Lemon chicken is on the table this evening.
