Hi Everyone,

I am Kym. I am a stay home of 2. Hunter is 2.5yrs and Addison is 10months. I am a little new to the weight loss struggle and am looking for something that works. I have been in a slump since Hunter was born and look to loss about 40 lbs. I am using the three hr diet as a tool to help me achieve my goal. I find that being a stay home mom, I eat mindlessly thoughtout the day. I am always putting something in my mouth. Now with a 3 hr schedule, I find myself eating much less and wow, what a reality check. I used to excerise all the time, but about a yr and half ago I herniated a disc and got preg with Addison. So there really wasn't much anyone could do to help me. I am finally gettig the back pain under control and look forward to being on the move again!!!

Good luck ladies!

Welcome to our group Kim. Being a mother of 2 girls myself ( almost 2 and 6), I know what it feels like. I started the lifestyle after my second daughter and lost a lot of weight. Breastfeeding at the time helped me shed some weight a bit more easier as well so if you are take that to your advantage. You burn about 500 calories each day if you do! If not, you can still lose weight like we are all doing! :welcome:

Newbie: Okay, I'm ready to do this!

Hi! I've been putting this off for years! I have to get serious. I'm at my heaviest and just in a place that I don't want to be! I'm usually very happy with myself and my life, but lately my weight has just took control over everything in my life and now, I want that control back! So here I am - ready to do something! :flame:

I've never "stuck" to a diet for more than two weeks, I alway just say: forget it, I'm fine with who I am - and so the next 2 to 3 weeks are going to be my hardest challenge - that's why my goal is not to be 150 pounds, I just want to get on the right road if you know what I mean.

A little bit about myself: I am a new- stay-at-home-mom (but this is my 3rd child). (14yrs, 22mo, and 7mo) I like it, but feel as though I'm losing myself a little bit. So I have been searching for things to keep myself sane.

I brought the book one month ago, read it, and put it up in the closet - :nono: ... last night I did some soul searching and brought the book down, re-read it and I'm going to stick with it this time! And that's what brought me here, I need support to make sure the book doesn't end up back in the closet. I chose the 3 hour diet because when I was on weight watchers (over 7 years ago) I was ALWAYS hungry. I can eat alot. On the 3-hour diet, at least if I'm hungry, I KNOW that the next meal/snack isn't far away.

What I really need is menu ideas, the book wasn't very clear to me on what you can and can't eat, but it said no food was off limits; however, I do understand that I can't run and eat eggs, bacon, potatoes, grits, cake, etc. So hopefully, I'll watch (read) and learn from others.

I'm looking forward to getting involved here, meeting new people, and achieving some goals! :D

Welcome Little Freedom!!

I think this plan is wonderful!! What is especially wonderful is the online support both here and at the 3 hour diet website! I post at both. If it were not for these boards I would not have made it. My original goal was to go down from 158 to 125. I am now at 126. It took me just under a year. So, my loss was on the slow side. You can probably do it quicker but I had a lot of slip ups on the way! The KEY is to just keep it up. As they say it is a lifestyle not a diet. So, you need to teach yourself how to eat this way. Make things on plan that you enjoy and can live with forever. Because, once you lose the weight you will also have to maintain.

Anyway, welcome and good luck!

I also think it is beneficial to write your goals down and read them everyday to remind yourself why you are doing this and to stay focused!! When you write your feelings and goals down on paper is helps make things a reality. It is harder to justify being at an unhealthy weight when you write down what you really want!!! Also write down WHY you want it. And refer to it frequently!!!

Yes, welcome. Glad to have you join us.

The women here can answer most of your questions about the diet. I found it easier at first to just keep my meals very simple until I really got the hang of the diet. Start increasing your water, that is very important.

There are some ideas posted here and most are really good too.

Good Luck, Phyllis

Hi---I am 'sort of new' found this website through the sonoma diet and joined---lost 7 pounds in Wave 1 but immediately stalled and found some of the restrictions too difficult to maintain---I was on the 3 hour diet last summer and belonged to the website and lost 15 pounds but then a goofy work schedule intruded and then I lost my 16 year old cat and next thing I knew I wasn't paying attention and about a month ago had to face that I had gained it all back--I know this plan works and it is fairly easy to make it work with my lifestyle (my 79 year old mom lives with me--and I struggle every day just to GET her to eat!) I first saw Jorge Cruise on Northwest Afternoon--a local talk show--I live in Olympia, Washington--and even though I was just about to start another diet I immediately got his book instead--I can't afford to re-join his website but I think there is the same sort of community here--I am going to try and eat the Sonoma superfoods with the 3 hour flexibility and broader choices and see if I can get back to where I was and more---I know I have to do this--I am not working now so it is a great time and I feel myself not wanting to even go on a job interview due to my weight so I am going to really focus on this for the next few months--thanks in advance for your help---ann
