Welcome Ann.

One of the reasons why I like the JC plan so much is because it doesn't feel like a diet. It truly is a lifestyle. And since you've already done it last summer, you probably understand what I mean. So welcome back, and the support here is the same thing then what we had on the JC site but for free!

So stay with us and let's get acquainted. I'm sure you will love it here as much as I do. There's great support and it reminds us that we're not the only one person trying to lose weight and trying to deal with emotional eating. It's not easy but we can learn to get back on track every single time. Looking forward to keep chatting with you!

Hola JC followers

Hola to all,

My name is James, and I'm 25 years old. At 5' 11" I always envied the petite little girls I knew, but it was never my reality. Since childhood I've been bigger (both horizontally AND vertically) than most girls I know. Over the course of my childhood I developed what would later become known as a "binge eating disorder". .......and I thought I just liked to eat! In my 20's I've come to terms with my body - and no longer feel shameful. I'm able to appreciate my nice qualities, without focusing soley on what I DONT like. And finally, now I feel prepared to start making positive changes for my body and my health.

I've tried many diets. I had a great degree of success (about 50 lbs worth of success) with Atkins, however after 8 months of meat, meat, meat ... I wanted to vomit, vomit, vomit. At one point I'm pretty sure I am pretty sure I would have sold a kidney for a dinner roll. Clearly it was something I couldn't do long-term. When I stopped following the strict Atkins plan, I immediately put on all the weight I'd lost - plus some! So now I find myself heavier than before, and to this day I eye every piece of beef that comes across my table with the disdain of someone who would sooner eat a kitchen sponge than another meat platter.

I've researched quite a bit about Jorge's plan, and for someone who ENJOYS food (...ACTUALLY eating it, not dreaming / thinking / fantasizing about it) the plan seems quite appropriate. Eating every 3 hours! Okay! I like the sound of that! I'm hoping that this plans allowance (in fact, insistence) on including all food groups - simply restricting portion size - ensures that I won't feel deprived of anything. As I am preparing for a semester abroad in Spain, it's also important that I have a plan that can work in that setting as well. Above all, the JC plan seems like a plan that isn't a short-term fix, but rather a way of living - that is manageable LONG TERM. Or so I hope. We'll see.

Looking forward to sharing the experience with you all. It looks like a great support system you all have here.

Goodluck and best wishes to all!

Hi everyone. I'm a Jorge Cruiser! My name is Angela. I have 2 children Adam is 7 and Corey is 4. I've been with my hubby for 13 years.

I just started the 3-hour diet on April 1, 2006 when I found his book, "The 3-Hour Diet" in my bookclub catalogue. This is the first time I've ever been on a diet. I didn't much care about my weight before. But I see that baby belly bulge that I still have from my pregnancies and it's starting to bug me! I'm about 40 pounds overweight.

My biggest obstacle is not snacking! I used to be a late night snacker (actually an all day snacker too). I never used to eat actual meals except dinner. Now, to get up at 8am and eat, it used to make me ill and sometimes I couldn't finish it. Now, it's a breeze for me, thank goodness. I also miss the meals I used to make, it feels like it's been so long. But, I know the 3-hour diet isn't just a diet but a way of life so if I just keep that in my head I know I can succeed at this. It's a good thing I love veggies!

My hubby is also on the diet (another reason I'm doing this, to support him). He needs to loose at least 100 pounds. Many health issues going on with him. So far he's lost 16 pounds. It's very noticeable on him.

Anyway, that's me :D

Hi Angela and welcome to this group.....we are happy to have you join us.

Just jump in and post, ask questions or just talk. The group is a bit quiet right now but we will soon be starting a new challenge for summer so it will pick up.

I will be on vacation for a couple of weeks but the ladies here will take good care of you.

Hi all. :) My name is Val. I just ordered the 3 hour diet book today and should have it in 2 or 3 days. It's an autographed copy that I found on an auction site! Thought that was kinda cool. :)

anyhoo...I am 37 years old (38 next month), married to Carl, who i've been with for 19 years and we have an 11 year old girl, 10 year old boy and a 7 month old baby boy. I've been yo-yo dieting for years. My highest weight of 210, was after the birth of my youngest son. I went on Weight Watchers and got down to 178-180 but am stuck here. I quit going to the meetings because they just didnt inspire me and I was so tired of counting points and paying 10 bucks to go get weighed every week. I'm 5'3" and hope to get down to 130, which I did manage to get to 3 years ago so I know I can do it again. My problem is night eating....I follow a diet just fine during the day but as soon as everyone is tucked away for the night, I start to eat junk, even getting up in the night to eat...I have no willpower it seems. :(

I have one question about this diet...I go to bed around midnight. According to what i've learned, i'll be eating at 7am, 10, 1, 4, and then again at 7pm...am I supposed to not eat again until 7am (I get up at 6 or 6:30)..i'm thinking that stretch between 7pm and midnight is going to be very difficult for me. Any advice?

Welcome Val! You will find great support here!

Congrats on the baby! I just love babies. My youngest is now turning 2 this Thursday! Time sure flies.

You can eat at 6 or 7 in the morning. Just make sure you eat every 3 hours as you indicated. You are allowed a treat of approximately 50 calories every day! My advice to you if you need to eat at night, is have that 50 calories 3 hours before bed time! It can be a cookie, a piece of fruit, .... Take a look at Jorge's list of treats for more ideas! I know Jorge doesn't recommend fruit after mornings, but I can't live without fruits for the rest of the day! I find that if I can lose weight by altering his program to me and I can still lose weight, then I'm successful! :)

Good luck and keep us updated! We're all here for each other!

Hello from Ohio anyone else over 50???

Hello from Marion, Ohio...My name is patti and I start Cruiseing tomorrow.
I'm 55 and have tried every diet under the sun, the latest being NutriSystem.
The three months I was on it I lost 17 pounds, I would gain, I would lose. I lost 12 pounds the very first week, then it was only 5 pounds loss over a 2 month and 2 week period. The cost , I cant afford and I Just Today found out about the 3 hour diet, so I went out and bought the book. Everything sounds GREAT, wish me Luck.
I am disabled and a stay at home. I am married to a Great Guy, and whether he knows it or not, he'll be Cruising with me...:
