Celia,

I am a middle school teacher and lately weekends have been my time to recharge. I try to do something social, clean the house and laundry, shop for food and prep food for the beginning of the week. Once it gets warm here, I will head out into my yard and garden. I am on vacation this week, so I am in chill mode.

Food rules really work for me- Rules are rules no matter how much time I have on my hands. Food is not an option, so I find something else to do and I drink a lot of herbal tea

How was your weekend?

AWESOMEE !!

I used to be good with rules but since I went off track I barely stick to it :-(. At work I am crazy busy but weekends is boring and all I do is watch tv and eat.. Feels so bad too. I hate walking by myself and don't have a garden so I guess I should be cleaning haha

If it's the habit of a cocktail & snack, make yourself a mocktail like a mock-ito with soda water 0/0/0 with a bit of lime juice and muddled fresh mint, or save a pinapple-coconut IP drink to use with a splash of soda for fizz, or a soda with a squirt of mio and a slice of lime on the rim (blueberry-lemonade is a good one or cranberry-raspberry). Eat cucumber slices dipped in Frank's hot sauce (my go to savoury flavour snack).

Congratulations, Slipfree, on your weight loss. any other success stories out there? If so, please share!

I finally decided to stop being disappointed in myself day after day when I failed to complete a full day on IP. I would start the day out perfectly, but by the end of the day, I ate whatever I wanted and chalked it up to the day being another waste. I started to believe that the IP diet, although successful for me in the past, was not for me because it was too restricting. I believed that I would give it one more chance or find another diet.

Well, I am giving it another shot and I am going to the clinic weekly for weigh ins and for support. Because of the popularity in my area of the diet, there is a big chance of running into people who I know at the clinic. I was using that as another excuse because I didn't want to run into others there who I know. I expressed this to the coach and she said that they are here, too. Get over it! Maybe you can find support among these people who are trying to do the same thing that you are.

I stopped using alternatives and went back to 100% IP products. They taste the best and I think that they work the best, too. So far, I am down 4 pounds. Not much, but better than being up 4 pounds! I am hoping that the hungry feeling will diminish or go away completely. My coach said it is okay to add more non-restricted drinks in the day if I need to to get me through the day. She even suggested that I have 2 restricted items because I am exercising a lot. I am reluctant to do this, because I want to see the scale go down faster.

Thank you for your support on this site. We are in this together!

Susie, great steps toward reaching your goal. You are brave to reach out to your coach! I agree with the coach, who cares about being seen, you are working on getting healthier. I miss some of the IP products, but with a new car and my Italy trip coming up $30.00 a box is just too much.

Thank you for your support. The healthy eating is not getting to me, but the pace of the scale is! My thinking has been changing about Phase 4, which is a good thing! Everyone is always in a hurry to get to Phase off, but reaching goal weight is so not the end of the journey. My biggest mistake was that I stopped cooking each night and did not weigh in every week. I am loving some of the recipes in Jeneva's cookbook since I was totally burnt out on my Phase 1 staple recipes. That Crack Slaw is fit to eat!

Hope all of you are doing well with your reboot!

Here is another person some of you already know... that's me getting going with a second 2016 re-boot.

I began on Monday with the food - I am using mostly alternatives, but with some leftover IP packets, and I am down 3 lbs per my home scale. Clearly I had plenty of water to lose right off the bat....

Today I began posting food in my MFP food diary - I think posting daily intake is critical to staying on a good path in maintenance, so I am taking the JenTX approach and trying to do it throughout my reboot.

I am also checking out the FB pages on IP -- it seems like the active posting that went on in 3FC back in 2013 and 2014 has relocated to FB.... and I have to laugh because the drama has gone over there too... there are folks who seem to be very rigid and OCD and folks who seem to be very loose - give both extremes a voice and you get drama!!!

Ah well - I am glad to find you all here to support me and I hope you will prod me along when I get lazy about this program. I need to lose the pounds for good!!!

ttfn,
cheryl

Definitely here to support you, Cheryl! Congrats on your restart and 3 pounds gone already. I am on some of those pages too, but they lack ongoing connection (for me). Post, get answer/support move on seems to be the new way.

Yeah, I haven't joined the facebook page either, because the nature of facebook is momentary. If you want to continue a discussion it's not possible - it just gets lost in the newsfeed and sooner or later gets archived depending on how much chatter happens in the meantime. I think it is now possible to hashtag for retrieval but you have to know what the hashtag was, and keep using it for continuity in each following post.
Here, at least it is the nature of the forum to have continuity and be able to look back fairly easily in previous posts or even search for specific posts - not possible on FB.
Welcome back susie & ks...
Hugs, Cheryl!! Good goin!

The scale is not budging. I know it is most likely water retention from cold medication but it is getting me down. So... I tried on all of my clothes for summer and even my size 8 jeans fit. The inches are coming off even if the scale refuses to move. I know that eating healthier has me feeling better and that is what I am trying to focus on- but that darn scale ticks me off, lol.

Thanks for the hugs, Liana - I can always use huggies these days!

Slipfree - I am with you regarding the belligerence of the scale - as I approached the last 10 lbs to goal (last summer), the scale simply parked itself on 160 -162, and just refused to move into the 150's. The more stubborn the scale was, the more I was willing to cut a corner here have a little cheat there. I can attest that these behaviors do not help the scale move downward.... quite the contrary. it is frustrating though, and I can only encourage you to hang in there and stay the course. Don't fudge cause it will only make things worse.

I am doing well for my first week of serious reboot - 4.3 lbs down on the morning of day 5, and 5 days of posting on MFP. So far so good.

Today I thought about joining a DietBet - the kickstart challenge is looking for a loss of 4 percent of weight in 30 days. If I had seen this and signed up on Sunday or Monday I would already be practically at that goal, and there is almost $100K in the pot for that challenge. I am afraid that signing in after just losing so much in water weight make make this a tough time to make the goal by May 16-17.... too bad. Maybe in May, since I have 57 to lose... I will be doing this P1 for at least 6-7 months if I am lucky enough to stay on track and get rid of the pounds.

I hope you all will still be hanging in to support me - having you here now means A LOT!!!!

Cheryl, yay on the 4.3 pounds! Even more cheers for getting through the first 5 days. I will definitely be here for the long haul because I need to focus even in Phase 4. Bummer about missing out on the loss for Dietbet.

As for fudging Phase 1, I am pretty black and white about protocol. Every time I contemplate going off (for wine), I talk myself out of it. I tell myself, if I have this now- it will take even longer for the scale to move.

We just need to keep moving forward, one meal at a time- for the rest of our lives, lol. Do you have Jeneva's cook book? I made some yummy meals this week while on vacation. Adding a few more new options to the menu rotation is helping.

Good Evening everyone! Sooooo here I am back after 1 year of not being on protocol. I will be starting back on Monday May 2, 2016. I ended my journey at 199 , right as I entered onederland Not to get all into my sob story BUT I ended at the moment I did due to my ex husband telling me he wanted a divorce. Now here I am mentally ready to get back on track after gaining 40 lbs back. I had lost 110 lbs when I left. I am very strong and have A LOT of will power, and I always know this very supportive group is here for me. I will need accountability So here I come.....

Thank you all for taking the time to read my rambling lol
