Do you NEED to have a consultation to start this program? Is it enough that I know I'm overweight, eat too much sugar/carbs, and can reverse engineer the packets to pretty similar stats until I'm ready to buy them on eBay or something?
Nevermind! I'm still breastfeeding, though my baby's on solids 3x a day + snacks, she still feeds quite often. I've been trying to wean her, but she doesn't really like formula. I guess I'll just try to eat healthier until she's weaned and then maybe I'll have changed my mind about a coach.
Hi Havestar! I was in the same position you are now eating lots and lots of sugar and tried to get myself in very restricted diets but didn't work so I started Dr Oz 2 weeks weight loss diet, and after that 1 month of the zone diet, the zone really really helped me to cut the sugar cravings (they were really bad) as it balance protein carbs and fats, Now I'm on my first week with IP and very happy! but I don't think I would have made it when I still had the sugar addiction.... Hope this helps you!!
Bummed....finished week 3 and was proud of myself. Stayed on plan except eating a little extra a few days cause I worked out. Took a pilates class. Got my vitamins in. Drank water. Went to the grocery store and wanted so bad to stroll the chip/cookie isle and make myself sick on a whole package of my favorite. But didn't
And the scale hasn't moved in a week. Bummed.
I lost 9 pounds in my first 2 weeks, but I really need to see results every week or I have a hard time staying motivated. This diet is NOT easy, the only reason I do it is because of the results.

I lost 11 lbs the first week. My coach is out of town so I didn't weigh this week. My scale is different so I'm not sure what I lost. I am like you, I need to see results. However, we have to realize that it WILL come off if we follow the plan. It has too. That's where patience (which I lack) comes in!!
I know from my own experience that my body tends to hold on to weight then drop a bunch at once. It can be frustrating!! I've read posts on here where people say the same thing. Hang in there- you will lose!!!!

Hang in there. I agree it is frustrating not to see a loss this time but the next time it might be a big loss.
Haven t posted in some weeks. Still op and haven t cheated. First two weeks lost 12 lbs. the las three only 2.6,.6 and 1.6!
Frustrating seeing how I m 100percent on plan. I m 80 pounds overweight so I hve tons more to lose. Trying not to get discouraged started jogging this week maybe that will help.

I can sympathize with you. I had my second WI today, it's my third week but my coach was out of town last week. I lost 11lbs the first week and 5.6 lbs this time. So a total of 16.6 lbs in three weeks. That's actually pretty good. I am telling myself that I did not put this on over night and it won't come off overnight either. I am losing inches too. I now fit in an XL shirt!! Down from 1XL. So that's good!!
Mae5: Actually, adding exercise can temporarily stall or increase weight. It causes inflammation in the muscles. I'm not saying exercise isn't good, it is great for fitness. Diet is what effects weight loss the most.
You have a had a loss every week. They won't all be big! You've still lost almost 5 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Another week will put you over 5 for the month. On some diets we're lucky if we lose a half lb per week. Remember, those first 2 weeks is mostly water. After that is fat.
I did lose an inch in my hips this week. My coach suggested I start exercising to increase my metabolism. I m nervous about it too because I feel my boday may go into starvation mode. I measure my veggies and tsp of olive oil every day. I bake or boil my natural protein etc
Maybe I should drink more water?? I feel as it is I m floating away haha. But maybe more water would help? Or less?

Are you adding an extra packet or egg or something after your jogging?
If you are using the lowest possible fat content natural protein you might want to up your olive oil to 2 tsp - your body needs the fat to operate. I would also mix it up on the protein - chicken, beef, pork, etc.
If I'm reading correctly, you've been on IP for 5 weeks and have lost more than 16 pounds? That's better than 3 pounds a week - that's fantastic!
I was told by my coach that if I exercise or do anything more strenuous than normal (or if I ever feel light headed) that I should just eat a hard boiled egg...which I do. It has helped all the way around...and my skel musc has increased as well. That seems to work for me.

kcandponies - It can be so frustrating to be on the program and not have the weight reflect how hard you worked! Last week, I was perfect, and I mean to the letter perfect. I lost 1 pound. Yes, one pound is in the right direction but I would be lying if I said I was not a wee bit disappointed.
But, I know where I am going and what I want to achieve. I look at my old photos and know I do not ever want to go back there again. So, I dig way down to find motivation on whatever level I can. I know giving up is not an option so that makes it easier because there is nothing to return to - not on option.
One of the books I read using that expression to remember where we are going - not an option, things like cookies, etc.
Hang in there and we can see how next week goes for each of us. I get more and more stubborn when crossed so maybe it will be BIG!
You've already heard about how exercise can cause a stall due to swelling. I know pilates is a hard workout. My muscles are sore for days after I "scoop" my abs. Those hip exercises... aaaahhh I can hardly walk. It "looks" so gentle, but Pilates is WORK!
