Congratulations! Can't wait until I get measured. Curious what I've given away so far. All I know if my clothes definitely fit better...in fact, I decided to buy some leggings to get me through for a while. No use buying smaller jeans every month!

iwannabe140,

Congrats to everyone else on the weight loss

Just tried the tomato basil soup-doesnt really taste like anything to me and it is weird how it changes to red once u start shaking it in the blender

Tried the apple and cinnamon soy puffs last night-very nice-reminds me of an apple pie-nice for the fall

Embarrassing Topic

I had my second WI today (even though it five days since the last one). I was +1 pound. I’ve been faithfully OP. Okay, yes, this was discouraging, but there are some extenuating circumstances, namely, I’m severely constipated. I’ve had issues with constipation since my gallbladder was surgically removed in 2007, and being on this IP has taken this problem to whole new (scary) level. I’ve been drinking almost a gallon of water a day, no coffee, getting greens in, taking two laxatives (docalax, senekot, magnesium, stool softener) and nothing -- nada for the past five days. The coach says this common complaint and it’s because of all the protein in the diet. Apparently IP at one point had their own laxative-like substance, but they no longer sell it. The solution was to drink more water, start blending a ½ bag of raw spinach on top of eating my four cups of vegetables. Pray for poo!
Sorry for discussing such an intimate topic, but I’m uncomfortable and I’m wondering if anyone has the same problem?
By the way it was awesome to read everyone’s successes today. I plan to make my official weigh-ins on Friday, even though the clinic wants to weigh me in every four to five days.

Thanks for listening,
Ting

Great loss and inches too!!:carrot: I'm not losing inches. I think maybe my rear a little and legs but I don't need to lose there. I carry my weight all in my stomach. I have looked prego for a long time.:(

Have you tried exercising? I know it sounds weird, but whenever I exercise it really gets things moving. Nothing too strenuous, maybe a walk or something? It can't hurt, right???

Same problem here. I have never taken any medication for this, someone at work told me to get sodium citrate. I just took it. Am hoping it works.

Tingstar - a hot coffee always seems to get things moving for me...the hit Bev and caffeine combo work well. I know you said you're not drinking coffee, but if you're not too opposed try that. I too struggle with this and it seems to really help.

Good Morning:
I started Ideal Protein for a basic reason to lose weight. I have many things causing stress in my life. My sister just had weight loss surgery and my daughter and I both have weight issues and we've been working out at the gym for months but the weight is not coming off.
A dear friend of mine came to town on Tuesday and I shared my issues with weight with her and I brought up that my boss is doing Ideal Protein and he's lost almost 50 pounds in 2 months and I was wondering if this is something I should do? She's lost about 100 pounds and kept it off for about 2 years and she said that's how I did it. I really thought she is someone I hold in high regard and I want to achieve my weight loss goal. I spent the afternoon with her and felt on top of the world. Good old fashioned quality time with a dear friend makes us think so much clearer. When I got to work on Wednesday I decided to call and talk with the clinic that does Ideal Protein and see if I could have the free consultation and I did and while I was there he realised that I'd done lots of research and I could start right away. I left there and was so excited and knew this is something that I can do and it might be hard eating 2 cups of vegetables two times a day. So I made a great stir fry last night something I don't do very often and it was good. I ate my snack it seemed extremely sweet and drank lots of water....
While on Thursday morning I got up and did the routine of getting on the scale and I hit and new number on the scale 237 wow it does work. I know it might just be water weight but it makes you know those two cups of vegetables might not be that bad today.
I have a question I love tomatoes and it says you shouldn't eat them that often so does that mean once a week.
I love the recipes on this site toooo.

Question how do you get the cool bar on your screen that shows your current weight and your goal weight?

finale 11-14-2013 08:54 AM

can you make smoothies from vegetables

I am just wondering if you could make a smoothie from the vegetables?

finale 11-14-2013 08:59 AM

Welcome!

Eventually you will be able to add a ticker to your signature. I think the rule is 20 posts and 20 days....but I'm never quite sure on that.

As for the tomatoes....no more than twice a week. I have cut back on that since my body seems to react to the sugars in them. No big deal...I figure this is only for a while...eventually I will be able to phase off and will be able to eat them again. I just need to give my body a chance to adjust to what I am doing.

Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions! This is a GREAT group of guys and gals.

Yes you can! I think a lot of people blend spinach with the chocolate drink.

Get a bottle of magnesium citrate at the pharmacy and get cleaned out then take psyllium capsules daily. That's what is in IP product. Also, spinach may cause constipation instead of helping, it does for me. I think cause of the iron.
