Hi all - just browsing through this site and found a ton of usefull information. I've been doing IP for 7 weeks now and haven't strayed. I'm more afraid to go off program than anything. I took the information I found here and placed some orders for WF products online (less than half I pay at clinic) and also ordered a bunch of stuff off of Nashua Nutrition. I'm really worried that the foods will knock me off program - but I'm getting a nice warm and fuzzy from all the feedback. To tempt fate I had a quest bar today that falls into a Non Restricted category and it was sooooo much better than the IP bars... Ok - i'm rambling - this is my first post.

Hello again and i'll be on this site for a while....

Cheers :-)

Welcome!

I generally try not to use restricted products for fear of greater temptation. I haven't seen much movement on the scale the last two weeks and have stayed on plan. I started incorporating some restricted in and noticed that the scale is slowwwly moving again. Perhaps I wasn't getting enough cals/carbs/protein before so the bod was going into starvation mode because I have been feeling pretty hungry as of late.

Does anyone who limits the use of restricteds ever feel slightly guilty when eating them? I don't know why I am feeling this way when it is clearly helping. I'm finding myself splitting bags and only eating half so I can rationalize it to myself.

You should not feel guilty about using restricted products. You are allowed 1 per day. I strongly urge you to eat your restricted each day. It's highly likely that you're not getting enough calories when you skip them and are putting your body into starvation mode, which will keep you from losing the weight. You have to feed your metabolism to see weight loss. On days that I'm very hungry I even add one extra unrestricted packet. It keeps me full and the extra 100 calories usually end up in more weight loss.

It's okay to just eat 3 unrestricted packets and totally skip the restricted packet, right? I'm finding that the packets I prefer are generally unrestricted.

That would be different than skipping your third IP packet all together, which I agree would be a bad thing.

I'm really not sure about that. I think that might be too few calories and might be counterproductive. I know for me that's too little and I'd be very hungry. I always have 2 unrestricteds ( on rare occasions 3) and 1 restricted every day.

mvngmntns13 11-08-2013 05:05 PM

I have been doing my 3 packets but all unrestricted. I think y'all are spot on though- definitely need the extra calories and I need to not mentally psych myself out bc it is OK and still OP!

I'll have to check with my coach. I didn't think there was a requirement to have a restricted item daily.

While we are allowed one restricted per day, I have been eating 100% unrestricted lately. The only thing I did was add a bit of my protein to my lunch since I work out most days. I need the extra protein and it helps me from being so hungry come 3 or 4 pm.

That sounds like a good compromise to me. A bit of extra calories and protein without the carbs of a restricted.

Hi everyone!

Welcome F6noob!

I eat my restricted everyday. I look forward to it.

The best part of this plan is that I am cooking dinner every day. Made pork tenderloin and sauerkraut tonight. It was filling.

Hey Jig, be careful of the cookbook. I saw some recipes with prosciutto in them. Asked at my clinic today, not approved. Kind of ticked me off.

Claustin, how are you?

Emsmom, happy OP weekend to you too!

Good news, the refi was approved! Can not wait for it to be done. Learned something during the process though, I had terrible insurance. Had been with them for 12 yrs. and I was being gauged! Got better coverage for half the cost.

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! Any big palms for the weekend? I've got a girls night tomorrow, which I'm already planning my drinks and snacks for. I lost another 2 lbs today, so good motivation to keep on plan! Working towards that 20 by Christmas challenge!

Congrats to everyone on all the great losses, NSVs and OP days! What great motivation to come here and keep up with you all!

Claustin, how are you?

Hello my friend! I am doing excellent!! In such a great mood today, feel on top of the world :queen: Its great! lol

I have so much energy! Its crazy! I woke up and decided today was a great day to gut my house. I got all 2500 sq ft cleaned (including cupboards, drawers, toy room, closets) Got 4-5 bags for the thrift store and 3 bags of garbage! Its been a very productive day!

It started out with me feeling "smaller" when I woke up so I got on the scale and I am so happy with my numbers!! (but I am waiting till Monday to update) The only thing, is that I haven't been hungry. Last night I could only eat 3 of my 6oz Chicken breast, and today I had to force myself to have lunch! Not sure what's going on but I'm ok with not being hungry or feeling the need to stuff my face all day.

Anyway, Enough rambling.

How was your day? How was everyone's day? Hope you all had a fantastic Friday! :cb:

wantanewme 11-08-2013 10:12 PM
