I was so angry when I came out of work today and found that someone had parked about 6 inches away from my car in the garage. I knew I would NEVER fit in there so my only option was to climb in from the other side. However I didn't think I would ever be able to do that either. When I managed it with little trouble I was shocked. I kept thinking 21 lbs wasn't much when you have as much as I do to lose. Boy was I wrong!

LOL Jane, are we supposed to confess when we snoop?? I read all of the IP diet threads even though I am not on this diet. Their rapid success, NSVs and recipes inspire me so much. If I wasn't on my current plan through my doctor's office, I definitely would have considered IP.

Congrats to you all on your scale and non-scale successes!!

Absoultely love my king bed, no matter what size I end up I will not be without the king. Lots of room for sleeping and other non-sleeping activities :carrot: I can stretch out and not worry about waking the wife. For us it works out great. She goes to sleep and stays in one spot, I'm a roamer. I bet I put on 20 miles a night rolling back and forth. With that much real estate in the bed available there's no complaints from either party.

they were too big as well. Looked like I was swimming in them. I ended up trying on the 14s and they fit very well. Not snug in the least bit. I was so excited! Then I put them back on the shelf and walked out.

I have so many clothes at home and still have 69 pounds to go, so I wasn't going to spend $30 on jeans I would wear for a few weeks. :)

From a size 26 to a 14. Wow. Can't wait to say from a 26 to a 6 LMAO.

That's so cool. Congratulations.

Yeah man. "Baking Cookies" is much better in a king size bed!

WI sucked, 0 down but...1/2 in off waist, so that's kinda good considering...got through the week from heck, (TOM, DD in hospital, constipated) going to soak in the tub, go to bed early and just look forward to tomorrow.
The victory in all this is that I never thought of going off program, ever. I reached for water, tea, an extra pack, or few oz of lean meat. Something has clicked...

leadedge 03-22-2013 08:23 PM

I love this thread!

Some of my favourite NSVs:

My mantra for this diet is that I spent 45yrs eating what ever I want, and I enjoyed it. Now it is time to sacrifice for my health and to be there for my family. As a result when the family decides they want McDs take out I VOLUNTEER to pick it up. So far no cheats! It is like my personal penance to drive home with the smell of Big Macs then happily eat my grilled veggies and turkey!

Making the jump from Mark's Work Warehouse (this could be only a Canadian Store!) to Old Navy!! Even my US friends will get the gist of this. 38" jeans look a heck of a lot better than 44"s on me!

For me the compliments started at about 30lbs gone! Call me vain but dammit I like the "congrats!" and "wows!"

And I fit into my smallest pair of ski pants and ski jacket. This is great news since I'm currently at Whistler BC, Candada and may go skiing with my DH and my Father-n-law. Yeah! Jen

I had my weigh in and measurements done... I've lost about an inch and a half everywhere (except shoulders & bust- still went down there though) and 3 inches in my thighs!

WTG - Great NSV! Don't you love having your clothes fit looser/better?

leadedge 03-26-2013 03:29 PM

Here is a funny NSV:

When I was about 18 I had an appendix attack and had to have it removed.

I was looking in the mirror at my new and improved gut and realized that for the first time in about 20 yrs my appendix scar is visible without any aid! i.e. I don't have to lift my beer belly to see it. Funny thing is I had never thought about the scar (out of sight out of mind) and now it stares me in the face every morning because of my flat(er) belly!!:D

Met a referral for coffee this morning. Neither of us had ever met and could not put our finger on eachothers cell numbers. After about 30 minutes of squirming a young gentleman approaches me holding an iPhone. "Are you Scott?" Yes Jason glad to meet you."He turns the phone and shows my my LinkedIn profile picture and states, "you must take a new picture! How old is this one?" "6 months". Turns phone around looks for a long moment, "so how much weight have you lost?" Best thing to happen in a few days.

Was at a family gathering this Easter with some folks I haven't seen for a year, when I was at my heaviest. One of them didn't recognize me... I heard her asking her sister 'Who's that?'!! LOL. And I had a whole lot of questions from envious overweight relatives about how I had lost the 60+ lbs. :) Plus I just realized I now fit perfectly into my absolutely 'skinniest' pair of jeans... black with black embossed embroidery on them. Just in time for spring/summer. :)

MSEMDEE 04-04-2013 10:28 PM

I am down to a size 18 jeans. No more plus sizes for me! Yeah!

Was picking up a piece of engraved jewelery ordered as a gift for one of my granddaughters and the Jeweler was very chatty. She asked when we planned to go to Texas to give it to her and then asked what I thought of the recent buzz about one foreign airline charging fares based on weight. She nodded at me then and said.." Well...you won't need to worry if they start that here"!!
I wanted to hug her...but she was behind the counter wrapping the locket!

stephanoodle 04-05-2013 03:32 PM

My skinny work pants are getting loose. I'm wearing a small size t-shirt, which I think last happened in high school. Talk about a great start to the weekend!

shoediva 04-10-2013 04:00 AM

I found out that my mom has been bragging about me. She is INCREDIBLY proud and supportive, which has really been life(diet) saving over the last 2 challenging days. I love that I have a cheerleader. Mom can be somewhat of a skeptic and critic, so having her on my side has been a surprising but appreciated and encouraging change!

lisa32989 04-10-2013 09:10 AM

Yesterday I picked up a dress that I had ordered and while I was at the store I tried on some other things (pix in What are You Wearing thread). I ordered the dress in 2 sizes and the smaller one fit :)
I just COULD.NOT.BELIEVE I am wearing the sizes I am wearing. And looking good in the size, as well!

I remember when I started this plan back in Aug and was watching people change sizes like wildfire. I was not. The scale was moving but sizes didn't change that fast. But someone said as they got smaller, sizes changed faster.

Today when I got ready for work, I realized I have VERY LITTLE to wear. Most of what is in my closet for warmer weather is too big (or still too snug b/c I bought some items for a couple-months out). I need to head BACK to the thrift and consignment shops (thank goodness for these!).

I need at least 2 pair of black capris, 2 of khaki and 2 of other colors for the work week PLUS tops. Oh my. I thought my more stretchy tops from last summer would fit. They are all 2X. I now wear L. I've moved through 2x, 1x, XL, to L. I've moved from 24W to regular 14s and 16s.

I have a (smaller) 2x top on today and it is passable but is really too big (shoulders falling off, etc). I was focusing on buying pants but I'm going to need to go through the closet and take a close look at how many tops I have that really fit!

Who said IP is expensive?
How about replacing a wardrobe? :cloud9: :dancer:

Poor, poor us, lol! My clothes are getting a little lose too...consignement stores are a lifesaver, will have to do that soon, especially with the warmer weather coming (I hope). Now, what to do with the baggy underwear???:dizzy:

I posted on the other thread ... You look *TERRIFIC*, Lisa, and I love the dress.

The only plus for me that nothing fits is that I'll have a huge tax deduction for donations this year, plus it means I have fewer clothing items for our move in a few weeks. I really do need to get out this weekend and pick up some shorts and a pair of jeans that fit without falling down. I also need to add a few notches on my belts. Thank goodness many of my tops are still wearable!! In general, I seem to be a lot slimmer around my waist, hips and butt than I was the last time around at this weight.

The original positive thread!

I just got more pants and am already seeing I needed more. Went back to JCP with my 20% off coupon last nite. 2 pants, 3 tops= several mix/match outfits! Plus I stopped at a local upscale charitable shop (we have several, in addition to thrift stores).
From a size 24w to a 14 or 16 regular with more to come. Now, THAT's what I'm talking about!

I really thought I'd be able to wear some of my "smaller" shirts from last summer. Tried one yesterday. A 2x just keeps falling off my shoulders. I need more than pants! I'll only be buyin a few "new" pieces this summer. Waiting til I see where I "land".

I've seen others who used to be the size I am now. Too bad we don't live closer!

That's great! And I know what you mean about waiting to see where you land. It took me a few weeks to realize I've landed. I finally realized I was "there" this weekend when I had no shorts and only two pair of pants that fit in my closet. Chicos was having a big sale, and I also had a $10 off coupon plus a gift card from my birthday. I bought several pairs of capris and several tops. I had been eying a few of them when they were full price, so getting some of them for less than half the price was outstanding! :carrot: I ordered online so now I can't wait for everything to arrive!

As I've discarded my larger sizes, I've often thought that there were probably people here who would love to have some of my things. Many were like new; they just didn't fit anymore. I wonder if we could set something up here ...

There IS a clothing exchange thread to be bumped up.
The problem is that we're all so spread out!
I could REALLY use some nice clothes tho. Most of the 2nd-hand items I'm finding are pretty worn & buying new for 6-8 weeks is just silly.

I think there are probably a number of great core threads that we need to make the effort to bump up to the top. All these miscellaneous threads are really bogging things down.

I'm kicking myself for including a few things I did in the charity pickup last week. I'll let you know before I give away anything else. I suspect there will be a few more things; I'll keep you posted.
