----------------------------------------------------------------------- For dinner tonight, DH made steak on the grill outside and it is FRIGID :brr: here!!!! He also grilled up some green, orange and red peppers, using just a tiny bit of olive oil. When I told him how great they tasted (and what a nice change it was from my usual steamed broccoli! ) he turned all serious and told me how impressed and proud he was that I've been able to stick with IP and that I am looking so good! It was really sweet. :cloud9: For a lot of reasons, I think this year is going to be one of the best ever, and IP is a big part of making that happen! |
Gonna need to shopping for new undies soon!!
Yeah! Oh yeah, I also think I saw my knee caps for a brief moment this morning! |
NSV - Although, I do enjoy going and getting a pedicure....
It is really nice when I can again paint my own toenails. And the cherry on top is that I can breathe while doing it lol! Jen |

I like this thread and enjoy reading others NSV's................ So, I'm bumping it!
I went to the jeweler the other day to have them take a link out of my watch. It's great when even your wrist loses inches! |
Just wanted to bump this up.
I think it is important for everyone to see that it is not just about the numbers on the scale but that the NSV" count for so much for our self-esteem to continue on our journey. Also wanted to add my NSV that I am down 3 pants sizes. As well, I can't stop touching my backside. It finally has some shape back there, not just this round blob following me around all day! |
One of the many shirts that I own that didn't fit - I swear the wife was shrinking them when she washed and dried them - I often said she could shrink iron just by washing it - now fits.
|
I tried on my halfway incentive dress this weekend for the first time.
IT FIT!!!!!!!!! And man did it look good!!! I came running out of my bedroom giggling to show my entire family, who were over visiting. They said they hadn't heard me giggle like that in years - and that was worth more to them then anything. For me, it was the fact that the dress fit - and I felt beautiful in it! CW - 193.2 Only 13.2 more to losing 100lbs! Only 73.2 to goal! |
Weigh to go, Spiritman! Great way to measure success!
Saskbushbunny, I find myself checking out my backside in the mirror in the restroom - I can't believe it's not really there anymore! JenRem, I've been wearing my watch like a bracelet. I love to look down and know that it is not dangling because the clasp is broken. Love reading this thread!!! |
Next mini goal in my sig.
It fits! And I'm .7 lb away |
I use a web type belt that cinches instead of having holes. I cut 5.5" off of it today as it was getting a tad long.
I also bought a new pair of jeans since my coach keeps complaining the ones I wear to WI are so baggy when she's taking measurements. I bought them at Costco ($13) because I wanted something cheap I consider a "transition" size. But Costco doesn't have a dressing room so I had to guess. I went from a 38w to a 36w. Got home and they're not falling down but definitely looser than my 38s were when I started at the end of Jan. |
Super cute guy at work that I hadn't seen in over 3 months said to me "Hey, Katie, I haven't seen you in a while. How have you been? You look amazing, by the way!" That was 1.5 months into IP. He was the first to comment, even though I know everyone else can tell...talk about an ego boost!
|
My "goal jeans" that haven't fit me since I was 21 (12 years ago) fit...they're still uncomfortable, but they easily zipped!

As I posted in today's daily chat thread - actually getting out of a chair today without the chair sticking to my azz when I stood up.
Also it has been three weeks since I've taken my acid reflux medication. |
Today I did something I've never done before. A client of mine brought in an appreciation gift of chocolate covered macadamia nuts from her trip to Hawaii along with a card. I very politely told her I was on a program to lose weight and although I appreciated her thinking of me I would rather her have the chocolates but I would be thrilled to accept the card. :)
She was very understanding and I feel so good about myself for declining. :carrot: |

This is a fun thread! My NSV's... (not all inclusive) :D
1) For the first time I fit into 2 pairs of Miss Me jeans that I bought in August of 2012. 2) I feel good. Seriously, I just feel good. 3) Seeing their is hope that I will get rid of my "pear shape"... I think I actually saw the beginning of "curves" today around my waist region. :carrot: 4) Watching my BP drop and knowing their is hope of getting off my BP meds. 5) Being excited about going to the gym to do my low-impact, IP coach approved treadmill and stationary bike work-out. :D 6) Being able to.... (this could be TMI) wipe my girl parts without feeling like I need to stretch my arm 12" to get over my huge belly. :carrot: |

It is March Break in Ontario. So Monday morning I tackled my closets. I have had clothes from size 2X down to my smallest size 14 ( designer clothes I have kept hoping to fit in one day). Well, my size 14 clothes fit perfectly. I have since packed up 8 huge boxes of every size, casual, fancy, business you name it to give to the diabetes association. WOW. Now that felt awesome. I emptied 2 and half closets, still have one to go and drawers in my guest's room to empty (because of my many sizes, I had clothes in different rooms). I have decided to not keep any of them as I am NEVER, I mean NEVER going back to those sizes. My husband was worried that I was going to go on a huge shopping spree, but I assured him I would not as I am going to live with the strict minimal of clothes until I get to my goal weight.
Can't wait for my family to see me at Easter. They have not seen me since xmas. |
I meant to post this last weekend but didn't get a chance however today I need the pick me up of remembering.
I was flying last weekend and both legs, I had to have a window seat. I prefer the aisle. Each time I got to the row and saw two guys already seated and I knew I had to ask them to stand so I could get in. This gave me a moment of panic each time because of my old size: 1. as they get up they will be staring at me getting into my seat, 2. manuvering into the seat with my carryon bag used to be tight and akward feeling/looking, 3. I used to take up the whole seat squished arm rest to arm rest and would think other people would view this as "oh i have to sit by the big person". So this trip, after the moment of panic passed, I realized that I don't mind them watching me (I look good!!!), it was so much easier getting into the seat (almost graceful) and I had room to spare on either side of me. I could even shuffle around to pull my carryon from under the seat in front of me and sit it beside me to access it during the flight. Bonus: I had more leg room too which was helpful for my knee problem as it hurts more to keep it bent. I never realized airplane seats had this much room in them. |
ginettepv - Congrats on your successes thus far. Doesn't it feel great to go through closets and get rid of clothes that are now to big for you? I've made the decision with this weight loss to also get rid of clothes that are too big. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your family over Easter and keep up the great job! When you get to your goal weight, hopefully your DH knows you will be going on a huge shopping spree!
KitKat - how terrific to have all those wonderful NSV's on the plane. I like to sometimes take my shoes off on long flights and in the past it's been a struggle to get them back on and be able to tie them when being overweight. I love that this is becoming easier for me. I'm glad that this aspect of flying is no longer stressful for you! Congrats! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I tend to be a jeans/t-shirt kind of person. When starting IP, I was wearing x-large shirts and some of them were on the tight side. I am now wearing large comfortably (some are a little baggy) and I have been raiding my husbands t-shirts because he has a much better selection than me! Of course, when I get closer to goal, I'll enjoy going to buy some new clothes! |
I just got back from a 9 day Caribbean cruise tonight. Although I definitely was not OP, I certainly did not go crazy by any stretch. I can tell you I'm happy to be back and started back on P1 as soon as I walked through the door!
The funny thing is all those things that used to lure me to the dark side: cakes, cookies, pie, beer...didn't do anything for me. As I bit into a cookie all I could think of was how great losing 34lbs feels, all the compliments I've been getting, how full of energy I feel now, how I like the structure of IP and my diet "rituals" (myfitnesspal.com, 3FC updates), how much I like getting up in the morning having my shower then the anticipation of my "naked WI"! You know, then that cookie pretty much tastes like crap! Dinner tonight - Turkey sausage with seasoned asparagus and mushrooms grilled to perfection on my good 'ole George Foreman!!! Better than anything old Royal Caribbean can lay down any day!:) |
leadedge - Impressive; WTG! You sound like a total IP convert! Congrats! And you didn't have to walk around full and uncomfortable after constantly overeating like everyone else on the ship lol! Jen

I think it's time to have some links removed from my watch band. When I first started IP, the watch was so tight on my wrist I would accidentally get my skin caught while clasping it all the time. Also it only fit in one spot on my wrist and wouldn't move unless I unclasped it. Now it's constantly sliding up and down my arm and spins around on my wrist.:carrot::carrot:

I agree Ragdoll. Easy to fix and will feel so much better on your wrist. I had mine done a few weeks ago; it's now on the tight side but I still have a lot to lose and I know it will fit well really soon. :)
|
NSV of the day: I didn't wear Spanx today :) and honestly my thighs look the same without them! Pants even feel a little looser!
|
Great NSV Ragdoll. I remember that happening and found it hard to believe I would lose so much in my wrist that didn't look fat to begin with.
Mquinn106: good for you. I only wear the body shaper tank tops but I really notice it a lot when I go without it so I won't try that again anytime soon. |
A good news bad news type of NSV for me today. The 2XL winter jacket I stopped wearing 3 years ago because it was two small now fits perfectly.
The bad news - I've got to continue to wear a bloody winter jacket because it's snowing, blowing 40 mph and the windchill is -4 F. |
I'm not on IP, but I accidentally posted in this thread once and I like to snoop in it from time to time because you all have such awesome NSV's!!!
Spiritman, I'm from Estevan and believe me I feel you! I just bought a gorgeous spring coat and it will be weeks before I can wear it!!!! |
Spent the afternoon with my 8yr old at the emerg (she's fine), although I had packed her cheese and crakers, juice and granola bar, I didn't bring anythng for me. So I left her with DH and went to the health food store and asked for the lowest carb bar, bought 2, thank god, cause I ended up being there for lunch and supper!
They came in and gave her an egg salad sandwich, which she hated of course. We got home at 9 and I devoured a huge salad with a boiled egg, drank 2 big glasses of water, took my supplements, had a herbal tea and off to bed. 1. I didn't eat the sandwich 2. I didn't "take the excuse" and go to the vending machine 3. I didn't eat the kid's snacks and 4. It wasn't even hard!!!! I did the best I could with what I had and stayed OP!!! |
Spiritman - at least you're getting a chance to wear it now. Next year when it's cold it will really be to BIG for you!
Radiojane - Welcome and Hello! newday2013 - WTG! You handled a tough/stressful situation like an IP PRO. Glad your DD is okay! I always have an extra bar or two in my bag for emergencies. Try to think about an emergency kit that you can always have with you. Some other IP'ers will put things in their bag like: bar, RTD drink, tea packet, splenda (or equiv) packets, water bottle, days worth of supplements, WF individual salad dressing packets (these are really great for restaurants), sea salt, etc. One source of protein that may not be the most appetizing, but is portable and will fill the need when desperate is the tuna in a pouch (vs. a can) that you could eat plain. This emergency kit can be an IP lifesaver! :) Jen |

way to go Newday. Not surprised you waited so long at the emergency. We are known for the long wait. so great job! Keep going!:carrot: |

Re: emerg pack: yes, this experience taught me that. I cary a small purse, so thinking my glove box will be the spot.
2nd WI tonight, I have TOM so a little nervous... |
Discovered another NSV last night. As I was getting into bed I noticed the bed frame was not creaking/cracking or groaning as I got in. Neither was I as far as that goes.

went to the mall today just for giggles as I am feeling "skinny". I went to Old Navy and thought, I haven't worn jeans in probably 12 years. So I grabbed an 18 and 16 to try on as I have no idea what I wear (got to love stretch pants huh?). The 18 were just too big. The 16s were a little hard to get on over the hips but I did it, and then I realized they were buttoned and zipped!
they were too big as well. Looked like I was swimming in them. I ended up trying on the 14s and they fit very well. Not snug in the least bit. I was so excited! Then I put them back on the shelf and walked out. I have so many clothes at home and still have 69 pounds to go, so I wasn't going to spend $30 on jeans I would wear for a few weeks. :) From a size 26 to a 14. Wow. Can't wait to say from a 26 to a 6 LMAO. CW 189 |
