Fitting into airplane seats is the best NSV ever! I flew in October and was comfortable! I have more flights coming up (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and I'm not dreading it!

Also, fitting into theater seats! I've been to a few concerts and musicals and I am so much more comfortable!

My NSV's-

My wedding rings are loose on me even when I am bloated.

My wrist watch band is so loose now it slides up and down my arm. Before IP, I had to try not to pinch myself accidentaly with the clasp when I put it on.

I did my shopping this weekend in the misses section, instead of the womens section. Goodbye 1X tops and 18 pants...I'm now in a large top & size 12 pants.

I love to read this thread.

1. Fasting blood glucose is under 100 every morning.
2. Off all high blood pressure meds.
3. Can do three laps around our hilly block without getting out of breath.
4. I pre-bought size 16 jeans that are too big now.
5. Getting ready to fly for the Thanksgiving holiday. Packing is easier because smaller clothes can actually fit in a carry-on suitcase. Confident that my thigh fat is not going to encroach on the other person's seat.
5. Treated myself to a bra-fitting at Nordstrom. The bra fitter took one look at me standing there in my old bra and said, "Oh honey, that has GOT to go." She was wonderful. Went from a 46DD to a 38F. Now everything's where it supposed to be. Looks like I lost another 10 lbs and 10 years instantly. Worth every penny and faster and much cheaper than surgery. Oh, and as Hgamroth said, 2 hooks, not 5, and incredibly pretty, too. Bought two to tide me over until I reach my goal. Then I'll be back to see my new best friend.

Getting a compliment from the hubby! He actually said he could really notice the changes in my body. Really made me feel good. Haven't felt pretty or sexy in a LONG time:D

I do not have one single pair of pants that fit. Never thought I would consider this a victory, but I am so happy to get rid of the clothes I felt bad in. I have a couple pairs of jeans and work from home, so will be ok without any for a while ;) I love to see NSVictories!

Went clothes shopping last Thursday as my coworkers were making fun of my droopy pants. lol! Now I can see why... went from 20 or 22 to 14. What??? How did THAT happen???
So last night I spent an hour inventorying ALL of my dress pants so that I could get them out of the house and donated. My entire closet will be purged over Thanksgiving week as I'm off work all week. It's $1000s worth of clothes, but my health and fitness is SOOO worth more than that!
My coworkers will be impressed with the better-fitting clothes after Thanksgiving, even if they ARE already a smidge big by then! :D

I wish I lived in your town! You could just bring them to my house and I'd make a donation to your favorite charity :) - well, the 20s anyway. 22s are getting droopy on me, as well. I seem to be changing size slowly but many of my clothes were way too tight when I started. Luckily for me, I had very few clothes at that size b/c I was always going to drop some weight. I have a few items at various sizes...and a not-too-great wardrobe at this point.
As I shrink, I'll be going to second-hand and consignment shops. There is a boutique store that I have my eye on for when I get to goal...for some nicer outfits.

I ran up three sets of stairs in an office building Thursday and was not out of breath. I carried up three heavy loads or firewood last night and realized I was not out of breath. Each trip used to require me to sit down for several min to catch my breath. No more!

Wow! WTG, Vet! I'm out of breath just thinking about that! lol!

But I do have an exercise-related NSV that I forgot to mention earlier... I have successfully completed Week 4 of the C25K program. Who knew that I'd be able to run 16 out of 24 minutes? Not me! :D

Has the running effected your weight loss? When I upped my exercise I stopped losing and I know I was gaining muscle mass so I cut back. I so desperately want to run. Do yo just do an extra packet after. Sorry for the questions! I am starting phase 2 later this week then phase 3 the week after and was going to wait to start back on c2k then but..... I would love to start NOW! :)

Congratulations SDChickie that is wonderful from a 20 to a 14 :carrot:. I just wanted to mention there is a clothes exchange thread, someone here on 3FC might be interested in your droopy pants.

So far it has not... I had a zero week last week, but then lost 7.2 pounds this week... my average is still running ~3.9lb/week after 13 weeks. My coach has been keeping close tabs on me. I have only added a packet one time, 1/2 of an RTD about 1/2 hour before running and the other 1/2 immediately after. She encouraged me to do the extra packet if I'm finding myself in need of extra energy... or alternately pop an egg. (Honestly, I'm afraid I might bring that egg right back up after the run, so I've steered clear of that option so far! lol!)

I have been a little concerned about how the exercise would impact my losses, but I do it for three reasons...
1) This is a lifelong lifestyle change. If it means I have to be in Phase 1 a few more months, that's a commitment I'm willing to make. I understand that not all people are, but this is what works for me.

2) As part of that lifestyle change, I need to get fit, not just lose weight. I've accepted a challenge to run a 2 mile race in February, a 5k in May, a Warrior Dash (5k w/ obstacles) in September, and a Spartan Sprint (another 5k w/ obstacles) in October. If my friends are willing to challenge me to up my game, who am I to turn them down?!

3) I have so much energy that I can't NOT do it! (I'll be honest... this was the original motivating factor!)

My sister got married in October 2011. When she picked out bridesmaids dressing in the spring of 2011, my dress fit perfectly, so we ordered it. When it arrived and I went for the first fitting, it was too tight because I had gained a bunch of weight. The seamstress let it out as much as she could and made me promise not to gain anymore weight before the wedding. The day of the wedding, I crammed myself into that dress as best as I could. It was tight and I felt like if I bent over, it would rip.

Yesterday my sister posted a bunch of pics on Facebook from the wedding. Out of curiosity, I tried my dress on last night. I haven't worn it since the wedding. I was about 7 lbs heavier at the wedding than I am now. It fit nicely with the exception of the chest, which was huge! I'm pretty sure I've lost a cup size since the last time I wore the dress.

Good morning Rainbowsmiles!! It was a hiking/walking week for us too, about 50 miles since my last weigh in. Stayed OP for the holidays, my WI is this evening. Don't think I'll see a weight loss, do know I'll have some inches gone. Hooray for hiking!!

Bella73123 11-26-2012 12:50 PM

OM Goodness!! So excited!! I am only two lbs away from the lowest weight that I have been since my youngest son was born!! He's almost 9!!! I have lost weight differently on IP, so I am now in a size 10 pant, and I haven't been that size since my daughter was born which was 10 yrs ago! Now that the 10's fit, I went out and found some 8's on sale for later. I think I may stop when they fit comfortably, so the end could be closer than I thought!!

I completed a 45:21 min 5K Turkey Trot. I have wanted to do one of these for the past 5 years. :)

Signing up for the Jiggle Bell Run next month.

Getting my wedding ring resized. Way too big!

Y'all's hiking stories reminded me of our vacation to the White Mountains in NH. We thought we would take a short 3 mile hike before dinner, only to find out it was 3 miles straight up! It took hours, had a fantastic view from the top, but by golly we did it!

4Mom - Congrats! The 5K's can be a lot of fun. Keep us posted on your time for the Jingle Bell Run - I know you will improve on your Turkey Trot time. Before you know it, you'll be addicted. Hey, it will be a GOOD addiction though, right? Jen:carrot:

I've been so happy to see my bones/tendons in my hands starting to emerge! I may or may not occasionally wiggle my fingers just to check it out. ;) They're not all "back to normal" yet, but getting closer and closer!

SDChickie 11-28-2012 05:30 AM

I had a less than stellar day yesterday and really needed a good cry and some exercise... so after I tucked the kids into bed, I did both. As I cried, I completed Week 5 Day 3 of the C25K program, which is a 5 min warm up, followed by a 20 min run. If someone had told me two months ago that I'd be running at all, much less for 20 min straight, I'd have called him/her insane. Turns out I can do WHATEVER I set my mind to do!

MSEMDEE 11-29-2012 03:03 PM

Just wanted to say Hello! cheekbones, clavical, wrist and waist. I have not seen you guys for quite awhile.
I also want to say Goodbye, muffintop! Won't miss you at all.
I feel so good today!!!

tightwad 11-29-2012 05:38 PM

I took my pants off without unbuttoning them...

WebRover 11-29-2012 07:42 PM

After looking at the smaller sizes others were wearing for comparable heights & weights and after looking at Thanksgiving week pictures and realizing how baggy my jeans were (I thought they still fit), I went out and bought new jeans today. Size 12. Haven't worn that size since about 1987. Didn't find any dress pants for work, so I'll need to do more shopping.

You know those moments, when
yes, you know how much you have to be grateful for,
and yes, you know many folks have it much worse than you,
and yes, you know that attitude is everything,
and you hit one of those periods in life that suddenly important things go really wrong all at once,
you take what honestly feels to be hit after hit being the positive force in your family showing that we can handle anything,
while starting a diet which has you feeling unusually sad and moody, but you still have your generally positive outlook,
and then you get that last really unexpected thing happen, which is perhaps the most heartbreaking,
and all you want to do is eat something you have been craving, just one cheat for lunch, just one time, just do it,
just make up for it later,
just forget all this effort and rebel and go do it,
just take control of something and eat a darned carb or two, or 100 just because,
just because you can,
and you realize it is really just self harming,
and you don't!
That feels like a major NSV!
Then you really feel like you took control of something!
And kicked it in the @$$!
Well, I stayed 100% OP. -And I feel proud. -And that is something to feel good about in the midst of feeling like crying.
So, I am going to keep doing my mom thing, keep working on the house, and not cry, but focus on that victory!
Other things will heal, whether I break my diet or not.
But I won't physically,
if I do.
Revelation: I deserve to heal.
Don't we all?

JenRem 12-01-2012 09:33 PM

yaelbelle - Beautifully stated. I'm gonna have to mull this over for awhile and see if it can change some deep rooted beliefs/though processes in my ol' brain. :)
Thank You. Jen

Attended a Christmas party saw old dear friends and not 1 person brought up my weight loss.
How wonderful to be able to not field inquiries about my dramatic weight loss in front of a crowd of people.
We spent hours catching up and they ate and I drank black coffee and a good time was had my all.
MY NSV is I am more than just my weight and I am blessed to have friends and family that respect if I don't bring it up it's not a topic of conversation. Roo2:carrot::carrot::carrot:
