Update: Just told hubby that he will be going to nieces Birthday Party at Olive Garden without me. I feel very nauseous and uncomfortable. Bummer, I have celebrated every birthday with her (she turns 17 tomorrow), she was our miracle baby, my sisters water broke at 21 week and had her 3 weeks later. She was in the NeoICU for 4 months, she wore her dad's wedding band around her wrist as a bracelet. She has been on the Childrens Miracle Network commercials. She is such a Miracle. Well, I believe they all are.
Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. I just had to post also after reading your post about your niece. My daughter who is now 23 years old was also born at 24 weeks. She weighed a 1lb 9oz and was also in the NICU for 4 months AND was also on the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. Miracles in deed. I just had to post because while reading your post I felt like I was reading about my daughter.
I don't have a lot planned today mostly watching football and doing my restricted band while watching. I am noticing that I am forming muscles in my arms on top of my bat wings....lol.
I'm going to have to look for one of those. Not sure what to worry about first, the bat wings or the tummy apron. Oy!

I have both so I am working on my bat wings now and my mom just told me about this thing you pedal like a bike but its just small enough to put on the counter so I could use it to pedal with my arms or my feet, so I will be going to look for that
Happy Sunday!! Hope everyone had a great week! Just had my 2nd weigh in this morning and down 3 lbs and lost 6 inches in only 2 weeks!! Was at a Halloween party last night and even though all the food smelled really good I had my water and BBQ Ridges!! Here's to another successfull week!!
Bella we must have been posting at the same time. So sorry you are having all the health issues. Are you getting enough potassium? You likely still have the IP supplements though. They have 800 mgs of potassium in them.
As for the C problem the coach I went to has a lot of other stuff she runs out of her clinic. She sold me a "herb cocktail" for constipation. I am sure if I didn't have that I would have bailed from the program long ago, constipation and hemorrhoids are impossible to live with. (9 pound baby 39 years ago here).
I hate to see you leave now but reading about all your issues it may be best to phase off very carefully and to monitor what you are eating carefully until after the holidays.
If you do decide to go that route don't you dare disappear from here! I'll still be here chugging along for some time to come.
So sorry you are missing the niece's birthday. We have two miracle babiesin my family; my sisters 9 year old twins. They were born at 24 weeks, the little girl at 1 pound 5 ounces, the little boy at 2 pounds 3 ounces. They are fantastic now but we never would have imagined that back when they were born.
I hope you are feeling better soon.
Pat
Oh I am not going anywhere, that is for sure! I love you all so much. I want to phase off and get some fruit and dairy back into my diet, then jump back on and lose the last 20 lbs.
I am so happy for your twins and yes it didn't seem possible at the time. My sister called me at 21 weeks and asked why her sheets were soaked (her husband was out of town) and I told her not to go to her doctor, and to go to the Hospital that had the neo-natal, I told her not to wait the 15 mins for me. I would call the hospital and tell them everything and meet her there. Thank God for modern technology. There were a few phone calls during those months, they thought she wouldn't make it, but she fought on and is such a special, beautiful, bright person.
DanainAustin, so happy for you too. It sounds exactly like my sister's experience! I love all my nieces and nephews, but she is so special, such a fighter.
I plan on being here for a long time, to see all my supporters to the end of their journeys, as well as, I am not finished. Just want my insides to be a little happier and I think fruit and yogurt in phase 3 & 4 will do it, since I ate that every single day of my life and never had any "issues". I did read that this diet is not to be done for too long at a time, so a break and back on might be the wisest thing to do. I guess some people don't have trouble long term, which is great for them.
IP chicken soup with broccoli tonight, I hope I get into the doc tomorrow. I will feel better in 2 days, once I get antibiotics. Love all my IP buddies, just wanted to let you know that.
Quick question that I haven't seen in the forums....
Is it okay to eat sesame seeds? I love them as a topping on my asian slaw salads, and to add to bok choy, but I'm not sure. I guess in large quantities they're high in fat.

Anyone know?
I don't but surely the small amount you sprinkle on a salad or bok choy would be negligible. The smallest additions can really change up a meal though, right?

Anything that is not on the protocol sheet I always assume is off limits. I found this info for sesame seeds:
I Tablespoon-52 calories; 4.5 gram fat; 2.1 carb; protein 1.6 grams
Good morning! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! So, my sister and I scored some restricted packets from a friend. Yesterday we made chili and fixed some zucchini as "fries". It was so good!! We were both scared to try turnips, lol. I was so full after eating that and stayed full for a long time after.
I was scared to try them as well as the kale chips were a huge dissapointment for me. BUT they were awesome, I made them for myself lastnight and I can't wait to make them again. The turnip was pretty much flavorless but has the texture of fries and with the seasonings was awesome!!

ROTFLMAO - tummy apron. Never heard it called that before. We're driving home from work. I'm on the thread as I hate driving in the dark. We've hit a couple deers over the last couple years. Now I hate driving on the highway at night.
Good morning everyone. Another busy weekend is almost over! My weight is all over the place. Up and down....I know, don't weigh everyday...but I'm still sticking with it. I never thought getting rid of the last 13 would be the hard part! I'm about getting to that, "I'm over this" stage but no matter how ready I am to move on, I'm scared to death. I am going to do some homework and then will hopefully have some time to plan some phase 3 and phase 4 meals later on so I'm not so worried. Those of you who post on this thread and do phase 2, what are you eating? I am going to start going phase 2 on the weekends to see if I wake my body back up. I haven't stalled but I'm considerably slowing down. Thanks for the help!
phase 2 - once you get over the shock that you now have to prepare 2 meals with protein, it is quite refreshing. I have been off and on it for at least a month.. I did spinach salad with eggs, lettuce salad with tuna, salad with chicken, I made mushroom chicken burgers on salad as well. Shrimp or fish, I tried them all. Lots of time I did bring left overs... taco salad with salsa. Good luck just remember this is just a phase in reaching your goal and it helps you grow.
Bella and Maile - Thank you... I actually haven't been very good this week as I was out of town, I don't think I got my water in so we will see what my wi brings tomorrow...
I had such a good time hanging out with my agility family and my dogs this weekend. Now the house is quiet 2 dogs sleeping off the activity and me reading my favorite forum. My little red dog was so fun to do agility with this weekend, makes me look forward to next month when we go again.
Have a great Monday, off to relax in a nice bubble bath...
Bella - sorry about your health issues... it just reminds me how all of our bodies are soo different and handle things different. I use to have Hemmies really bad during my time of month.. since starting the diet haven't had any issues... leg cramps, maybe have more potassium and salt... I use to get those too and rarely do. Now the big C get that way more often now.. never had much of an issue before. Night All
