Good morning all. I have not read through the weekend chat yet, but wanted to wish everyone a great week.
Over the weekend, I put in a raised garden, 20ft x 20ft. Took 19 tons of dirt to fill. I planted cauliflower, broccoli, zuchinni, jalapenos, red orange yellow and green bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, beans, carrots, radishes, romaine lettuce, yellow and white oninons. I plan to make 2 more beds one for strawberries and watermellon and the second for sweet corn. Hope it all works out and grows well.
I am almost back down to 209. It has taken less than a week to get there and I am happy for that.
Hi All,
Today is rainy cold day here in ontario, really makes for a long day with 6 toddlers (I do home daycare)
Today is day one using the IP protocol. This morning I had a pure protein shake, and strangly enough I'm not hungry yet! I can't wait for my nashua order to come in to switch it up a bit. I also have a couple of IP soup packs my BIL gave me to try so I'll be having one of those for lunch. My starting weight today was 158.8lbs

That's my goal this summer, to plant a garden! My plans for the upcoming long weekend is to put in my raised garden and plants! Good for you!!

Wow Juice, you got right back on your weight, looks like you have learned so much on IP, now you have control of you body!

Juice! Great job on the losses, my friend. I love the planting, and I was wondering why you waited so late in the season to do that...then I remembered you don't live in the South LA heat that destroys crops after the first week of June. Sounds like we all need to come shopping in your garden!

Good luck on day 1 with six toddlers!!! I have 18-month-old twins and have stayed home with them so far. Whew. Don't forget to drink your water!

Thank you! I find it very simple now. I really thought about being done, but in my mind, I would have been a failure since I did not get to my goal. I was happy where I had gotten too and the gain of 12 lbs was not fat and no big deal. I just need to reach my initial goal and get to my 9% BF that my trainer and I have set. I would like to seee abs! They are so close, just have a small bit of pudge to get rid of.
I now have 3 successful friends on my version. All three are doing great. 2 of them were 300+ lbs and would get down to the 300 mark on their own and get stuck. I got them started and wow, both are into the 290's in less than 2 weeks. They are doing great.
I think I might have to do my own infomercial and start making money! LOL, no, I enjoy helping my friends better their lives. I like the program and enjoy the routine. 200 or below here I come along with 9% BF.

A few of my items are a bit late, but most are right on track for the central US. We were not going to do a garden, but my wife saw her dads and said lets do one. Of course as my wife calls it, I had to "John Size It" and make it a raised bed. We have very poor sandy soil so that is why I raised it and brought in 19 tons of good dirt. I hope it grows. Come shoping if you want to make the trip! I am sure I will have extras!
It's STILL rainy and miserable here today and also cold this morning!
I am learning something new. Over time, as an overeater/binger/stress eater, I lost the ability to "listen to my body". I still have a hard time distinguishing between physical hunger and emotional/boredom/stress hunger (if there is such a thing).
Yesterday, I was hungry but with the weather being miserable and the fact that I was a bit bored, I wondered if it wasn't an emotional thing. I started with dill pickles... then celery... and then I realized that I was really hungry. I moved on to an IP packet (well two half-packets when not satisfied by the celery and pickles). Then, at snacktime (evening), I didn't know if I should snack or not but I decided that since I had a lot to eat and was not hungry, I did not.
Well, lo and behold, when I went into my daily SW ritual, I discovered that it looks like I've started losing again! I am so relieved! I am glad that I listened to my body and had something to eat when I needed it!
So, I am learning, among other things:
- My body will do things at its own pace, plateau's are normal and will happen, sometimes I lose pounds and sometimes I lose inches;
- To eat slowly, take small bites, enjoy my food and be conscious of my eating;
- To learn how to "listen to my body" and recognise the cues that it is sending me (this is a biggie and will still take a while);
- That I may be sucrose or gluten intolerant... to look into later with the reintroduction of these foods!
I am very excited about all of this and very thankful for this journey... and that it is taking longer than it was supposed to because without the extra time, I may not have learned the lessons... and to be patient.
Morning all! Planted my veggie plants in on Friday and spent the weekend at our campsite... So much fun! Taking a sick day today though just to recooperate! It is rainy and cool in CT and I am extra cold on this diet so enjoying staying under the blankies this morning. I think I am going to move to phase 2 when I get to 132 because my 6's I am back into are pretty loose and I dont want to be smaller than a 4 as I have more of an athletic build from years of running. Well I hope everyone has a great OP day
Well I am off to the clinic this morning. More immunized babies coming my way, lol. I have Healthy Beginnings tomorrow too so that should be a fun, new experience!
I packed my lunch last night and have everything to go this AM. Now I just need to get my butt out of bed. Haha, I'm a night owl so mornings don't usually jive with me. It's supposed to be nice & sunny here but we really need some RAIN!!! Especially up north, the people of Slave Lake were devastated last night by wildfires that tore through their community. So horrific.
Well everyone - gotta run!!! Have a good IP day & take care
Juice - your garden looks amazing, you don't have to clean up anything. It is lucky you can plant, we usually wait until after the May long weekend (which is this weekend) as it still sometimes snows. This year I am going to try to grow a few things, I kind of tend to forget to water sooo things tend to die.
Well after a windy weekend and a town north of me evacuated and half burnt down from a wild fire, I am glad I just had part of my fence come apart. We had 100 mph winds this weekend, today should be 30 - 50, it is like we are in southern alberta. I am hoping my jimmy rigged fence holds up until the wind quits as it is hard to fix while the thing is blowing all around.
Prayer for all the people in Slave lake who have lost half their town, most of them were told when they evacuated that there probably wouldn't be a home to come back to.
