Well, I might have whacked myself today, I'm not sure, we'll see tomorrow on the scale. This is the first time I've gone off. I kind of OD'd on protein though, not sugar or fat or carbs. I had my typical breakfast of apple cinnamon puffs and black coffee. then I went and swam my laps. At noon I had chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. evoo and vinegar. Supper (graduation at work today) big picnic, I took chicken to put on the grill so I didn't have the greasy burger or dog. BUT, while it was cooking I had zuchinni, asparagus, celery, and mushrooms that I microwaved and then put in the IP cream of mushroom soup. So I had meat and soup! Then when I got home I had a bunch of lettuce, more tomatoes and onions, evoo and vinegar.

2 packets, but way too much chicken. I had more than enough water. Well, tomorrow's another day.

Question, my daughter is back to school, and sometimes I help her with the babysitter payment. My guilt is now that I'm not helping her because I'm using my extra money IP products. She is having a hard time paying her sitter and I'm feeling bad about it. Although no one helped me when I went to school, I'm really proud of her for keeping her A average while working and having 2 little boys.

mine did the same thing!! i was exactly 170 today, which means that i've been in the 170s for at least 3 weeks! 160s tomorrow? i hope so!

Default What's with the 160's?

I've been 167.8 for three days now! After my chicken binge yesterday I was kind of pleasantly surprised. I was 174 for a week, so I'll think of something to get off the ledge.
Beachy, are you out of the 200's?

Pretty much what I expected after my stress-filled week... only 1.5 lbs. down... but, hey, it's still a loss, so I'll take it & be glad for it... 17.5 lbs. to goal...

I'm off in about an hour to that meeting I've been stressing about... I'll be glad to get that over with... keep your fingers crossed for me that the attendees won't throw tomatoes...

Happy Saturday everyone. Here's to a great OP day everyone. I had a super stressful day yesterday. My son was home from daycare and I still had a ton if work to do. I was on conference calls while trying to swap episodes of Wonder Pets for him. Ugh. At one point, I think the people on the phone could hear it when I didn't have mute on at the right time. Oh well. I tell myself always that family comes first, no matter what. I don't care, but it was stressful at the time. Good news, though. His knee is better today and he is no longer limping. Watching a 3-yr old limp is heartbreaking.

Well, I had a super busy day yesterday, but I'm happy to say the scale was kind to me. Down 3 pounds! Haven't seen that in a while. So, that leaves me with just 6 to deal with in the 3 weeks I'll be on Phase 2 - starting today!

Kinda nervous about today. We're going to a wedding, not sure how the food will be, but I'll just do my best. What I'm actually nervous about, which is so silly, is that after 2 years of basically 'hiding', and dreading events because I knew I wouldn't like how I looked or what I would wear, I feel like I'm exposing myself or something. Well, I am exposing my upper arms & my knees, which I've kept hidden for a while!LOL

But it seems more like an emotional vulnerability. I mean, I'm 50, not 16!! Has anyone else felt like this?

I feel somewhat similar. I'm definitely wearing nicer clothes that don't hide my figure. I feel strangely uncomfortable when people look at me (you know the "up and down, down and up" look)... I know it's because they are trying to figure out if I've lost weight and deciding whether to say something. This happens mostly with men at work.

Try to relax and enjoy the day. Are you taking a snack of your own so that you have something to eat if the food isn't IP friendly? I would also recommend getting club soda with lime (it looks like a cocktail) to keep your hands busy when people are eating appetizers, etc. Sometimes it's about keeping your hands busy at events like these.

Have a great time, and please report back on all the nice comments that you get (assuming you know some people).

Thanks. Yeah, we'll be seeing some good friends, some of whom I haven't seen for a while, so I'm really looking forward to that!

Have a great time today. I do know what you are talking about re: being self conscious. I am now tucking in shirts/blouses, I bought new heels (yeah, really high priority) and am walking taller. That is what is making people notice and now people feel compelled to bring it up. "Wow. Look at you." "You look all put together." "New pants?" It is like they are focusing on the 'image' and less on the loss. Not that it is a bad thing, but I get what you're saying. I'm a 41 year old happily married mother of 2 kids. I'm not shopping for compliments.

But it doesn't hurt.

On the topic of 'how much is too much' I had a weird thing happen yesterday. The husband of a good friend (she is overweight) apparently made a comment to her that I have lost too much. Let me tell you folks, I really don't feel at all like I'm too thin. I JUST got to my healthy BMI at around 150. I might be 5ish lbs lower than that. I know BMI isn't the be all/end all, but I certainly don't think it means I'm TOO skinny.

How do you balance comments like 'you should stop' and 'don't lose too much' with the context (is the person speaking projecting their issues on you?) AND with the reality that I know I could gain 3-5 lbs once I'm in maintenance just from the glycogen?

I've come to the conclusion that almost always, comments are coming from people's own issues, even if they don't have weight issues. It just seems to bring out weird things in people. You know your body, and you don't really have to take their comments into consideration at all.

I've add people tell me the same thing. I've lost 45 pounds with another 15-20 to go (not sure where I'll be). I pretty much ignore comments from people that tell me another 15-20 pounds it too much. Really, who are they to tell me what I should and should not do? If you fell like it's too much (or too little) then start doing some thinking but other than that, ignore it.

I can up you.....I hit 170.4 on Tuesday....170.2 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and 170.0 this morning.....talk about torture. Seriously.

Especially considering I was 175.0 on April 14th. I am so ready to see the 160's. Nervous I may not be getting enough calories for the amount of exercise I do.


I have stopped worrying about the scale as much as I will about the size of the clothing. I am going to stop myself at a size 6 and small top. I am currently in a size 8 bottom at every store...been wearing some 8's especially jeans for 2 months now (long two months...about 9-10 pounds). Some of my mediums are getting big and I have repurchased on clearance in smalls.

Did my measurements today and I was down more inches (especially in chest). My bra size has gone from a 44 DDD to a 36 somewhere between B and C. I have lost 4.5 inches on each arm. I have lost 10 inches around my breast, I have lost 5 inches on each thigh (they are almost in the teens...exactly 20 inches...very excited about that). Lost 11 inches in my waist. Lost 10 inches in my hips....very excited.

Oh well.....I will hope to see that beautiful 169.8 tomorrow.

All good comments. I know for me the people that say "you don't need to lose anymore" fit into one of 2 categories; 1) the are feeling bad about themselves because they are not yet ready to make the commitment to do the same thing and start a healthy life style. or 2) with the weight loss being so quick they have yet to adjust their image of you. Just like some have had issues on IP within themselves to see the new thinner YOU.

Just do all be careful that you are not getting too thin. BMI.......it is guide. How can everyone be put into the same range. We are all so different....Darbs for one............hello girl people think you are 30 lbs lighter than you really are. Maybe time to listen to those voices and throw the BMI to the wind!

Now having said all those things that make sense...........I was thrilled the day I got to a healthy BMI number and when I shared I was told it is just a number. I bit crushed by those words.........but in hindsight...........truer words have not been spoken. I don't even look at BMI anymore I love my size 6's and some skinny 8's. Let's do this!! get'er done
