I actuallyhave my snack after lunch and before dinner. My body tells me "I'm hungry" by 2:30 or 3pm everyday. it's been working for me! Just make sure you take the supplements with the appropriate meals. - dina

Wyosun, you look wonderful! Congratulations!

(I don't know how you can bake and have breakfasts for guests! I would have a hard time resisting . . . .)

Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
Welcome-- you'll be so glad you chose IP. I never liked most of the foods but fell in love with the vanilla ready made drinks. I have had them 3x a day for a few months now. I will add flavors and ice in blender for a change. You will find plenty of clever ideas here-- things like kale chips and turnip fries. Once you get established on the protocol, it's fun to get inventive to keep from being bored. But I really recommend you wait a few weeks before fooling with the rules. Most of us are serious about the 4 cups of veggies every day, the water, the salt and the olive oil. And the protein too. Salads are optional but really helpful when you are hungry. Good luck.

Hi, I first posted today on another thread and Novak said coming here would be informative and helpful for me. To make a long story short...I have been on this diet for abt 2 1/2 months now. I started at 181 and am down to 150...strangly I started out at a size 10-12 jean and xl shirts and now I am down to size 4 jeans and med size shirts...love the inches lost...bye bye, don't want you back. I have a lot of confusion and didn't get much information from my coach. I have now printed off all the info I could find and I wanted to say thank you for this site. I found this site by accident. My Dr told me this was the diet he wanted me on and sent me to my coach. She was really helpful at first but she has now jumped me from phase 1 to phase 3 as my Dr said no more diet due to my size not what the scale says. I do not know what my BMI is and I am having a lot of difficulty with bruising and feeling cold and now being on phase 3 my stomach hurts and I feel bloated and gassy. I am at a loss as to what to do and I feel overwhelmed with all the info to go thru. BUT with this site I definitely do NOT feel alone anymore...THANK YOU!!!

I have a quick question, I'm hoping someone will have some advice. My husband will be fasting for Ramadan starting Wednesday, he's asked me several times if i will be fasting along with him, I really want to, but I also want to stick to the IP, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to do this - I'm sure the first week would be super hard just as this was.

If you are not familar with Ramadan and fasting, they do not let anything touch their mouth from sun up to sun down - which is approximately 5 am to 8:30 pm...

Thanks for any input...

Definitely support your husband, Frita. That's my opinion, anyway. I would get up early and have a protein drink before 5 if you could, and then just join him, and after 8:30 have your veggies and dinner as usual, and an IP snack.

I'd be worried about not getting enough water and its consequences. Most people who celebrate Ramadan live much closer to the equator than you do so sun up to sun down is between 11-13 hours, depending on the time of year it occurs -- not 15 hours. I was in Zanzibar (almost on the equator) during Ramadan which occurred the beginning of January that year. People who worked outside were dropped like flies if they didn't quit early or drink some water. Many people just stayed inside preparing the big meals they ate after sundown. Our driver had to pull over twice because of lightheadedness. Kind of scary and (to me) sad. You may have a strategy to counteract this? I hope so.

I say do a modified version as in drink water with salt or tell him you are fasting already seriously though I would drink water for sure. whats going to be tough is that he is going to want to and can eat all he wants at sun down and you can't. Also, you don't have to do it for the whole month, start it and see how it goes.

I have always taken that story as a reminder that sometimes what we get in life is what we reflect and/or expect. If you expect your family to be supportive, maybe, they will be.
Carla: Once again the perfect post. Love this story!

WyoSun: Awesome! You look fabulous.

Ok, so I think I'm on to something here and am wondering if anyone else notices this.....

If you look at my loss exactly 4 weeks ago I was down 1 pound and again today. TOM you say....? No, but how about ovulation????? Anyone notice any changes then? Please tell me I am not crazy and that this happens to others as well. I have abdominal pain at this time as well as water retention.....

I'm interested to hear your feedback on this......

Have a great weekend everyone !
