Sarah30...Good for you!!! Your husband must have been wonderfully surprised when he got back Chaplainswifey(CW)...had a phenomenal experience like that too, she is a HUGE inspiration for me. I think for those of us who have husbands/partners that are working away, it is always nice to see the pleasant surprise when they arrive back home
Sweets!.. I saw you posted a note to me on the other thread, but I thought it would be better to respond on the chat thread instead of the challenge thread... so I hope you see this I started IP on April.5. I initially had my goal weight at 150lbs, then realized I would still be considered overweight at that number. I also thought 150 was going to be near impossible to obtain. Well, commitment to IP has proved me wrong! So I then moved my goal weight to 140. I found I was losing quite slowly for several weeks, so I thought that I should leave it there. However as you can see, I have now had a great loss this week 4lbs!!!, so that has motivated me to change my goal once again, lol.... 135lbs will give me a midrange BMI for my height etc... and will make me feel great.
I am also going to go and get my Body Fat tested properly (with calipers), so that I can make sure that I really am in a healthy position. Hope that helps!!! I'll be watching and cheering you on
Stacey41...so glad you stuck throught it. It should be much smoother sailing from now on. Whew!
Journeysend...oh man, I have had a white button up blouse in my closet for about 6 years too, I swore that I would get it on one day...too funny! Nice job.
CW...new shorts!! Yay! I am guessing you are getting sun then, lucky duck I will be doing some short shopping soon too!
Want2run...gushing...always good. Bask in it, you totally deserve it.
Lady5andy...Vous êtes si mignon! "Il suffit d'être en amour avec soi-même", Ces paroles sont si vraies....
Posted by Calgarygirlie-- HopefulT... I know there was something I wanted to respond to but I was super busy this weekend, and now can't find the post.....so I will just send you a big kiss
Calgarygirlie-- thanks! Seems like everyone here could use some love!! Don't know what the post was... I just know I love IP and the support of people like you through the good, the bad and the ugly. This program is easy and hard too. Part of our success comes from helping each other through the tough spots and being each other's cheerleaders. So I am cheering YOU and sending congratulations on your big NSV-- weighing less than you husband!

That is soooo funny ahahaha !! You just have to be in love with yourself
Everytime I'm in love I gain weight, because of the restaurant, wine and everything that come with a BF lol, including chips and chocolate at a movies..
Everytime my heart is broken, I'm going to the gym, get new hair, new nails, and to the tanning salon, so it's like a revenge for me. So Tonight I said to my boyfriend, LEAVE ME so I'll become a cutie again. He said no way, I want you to stay chubby, so'll be sure to keep you for myself ! He's afraid that If I lose too much weight, all his friend will be flirting with me hahahaha
ME TOO!!! In love=gain weight. Ice cream in bed, cooking my brains out, restaurants. Heartbroken=I'll show you by looking my complete best. There is something really disturbing about this to me. Namely how I let so much of myself be dictated by men and relationships. You said it earlier, about loving ourselves first. I'm repeating that to myself about MILLION times a day. It's my mantra.

Thanks for responding CG. Congrats on your success! I've been really happy with the way IP has worked for me so far. I must admit that I really haven't struggled with cravings or boredom yet. I'm a picky person who doesn't really eat a great variety of "normal" food anyway, so this has been right up my alley. I was a bit disappointed with my loss this week (only 1.6 lbs) since I've been having bigger losses since I started and haven't cheated at all; however, reading the posts of others here I now understand that it's normal and that's ok. I'll see if I get to 150 as quickly as you did and then I probably will change my goal to between 130-140. Keep up the good work!
OK Girls I just had to post this!!!! I have had a beautiful white blouse that I bought about 6 yrs ago and NEVER have been able to wear....AND....today I tried it on and I got it BUTTONED UP!!!!!!!!!! I was sooo excited!!!!!

So excited by these and any other NSV I forgot to quote!! Reading stuff like this is what helps me continue on days like this when I've done everything right for so many days in a row and the scale won't budge. I had a similar experience on Sunday when I was able to fit into clothes 1-2 sizes smaller that I swear didn't fit when I tried some of them on last week.

I'm the same way! I think I got off to a good start on IP due to having my heart broken about a week before I started. Looking amazing is definitely the best revenge. I planned my start date a month in advance so it was pure coincidence the way things worked out but now it's just another tool I use for motivation! It's amazing how helpful it is it think "just way till I reach goal and run into xx or he sees my vacation pictures next winter on Facebook."

It's crazy bc even though I've lost 31 pounds I am only down one size. Is that bizarre or what?? And at the risk of sounding completely vain (ok maybe I am) I went to a soccer game tonight and hadn't seen a friend since I've started the diet and she didn't mention a word. And she isn't the jealous, snarky type, you know? But I do feel like a new person.
You are doing awesome! Your portrait pics tell a great story!

GIRL..you are probably one of the lucky few that didn't have a big mid-section and arms like me. i started with fairly "ok" legs(hubby said he missed them today!) but my waist, huge butt, hips and arms were huge from where they were say, 4 years ago.
i've lost my butt, a lot of my waist and hips but my arms will NOT budge.
all i want is to have arms that are less than a foot around. grrrrrr...
I've read more than once on this forum that lots of exercise will throw you out of ketosis... how does it do that?.. I get it that exercise will make a person hungrier, but if you're still on protocol, how does it affect ketosis?..

you are doing FANTABULOUS and look beautiful!
Thank you. I think that my wardrobe of all sweats all the time, accompanied by baseball hats and huge sunglasses are a likely explanation. It drove my kids crazy. They teased me that I looked like I was constantly wearing a disguise.
Are your arms the first place you gained the weight? You know the theory about the last place you gained is the first place you lose... All I know is you look fantastic! Isn't it exciting?

Just wondering... thx...
hugs...
This seems to be the general consensus on exercise: no more than half an hour and nothing that gets your heart rate up. Walking would be a great form of exercise in the beginning.
However - there is an athletic protocol which adds an extra measure of protein that you would have right after a workout if you are working out more intensely. This is the protocol I'm on right now, doing the C25K so on the days I run, I add an extra package of food...
Also, I believe Showgirl posted some information on exercising once you've been in ketosis for some time and how your body will adapt to the new exercise and you'll stay in ketosis. (I'm paraphrasing, I can't remember what exactly she said, nor do I remember when she posted it). That being said, I know Sassykimann is having problems staying in ketosis with her workout routine so I'm not sure when or how much is too much?
I just have to share this with everyone. I had an amazing NSV yesterday. About a week ago my Mom (who is Journeysend on here) and I cleaned out my closet for the 2nd time in 2 months. All my shorts and all but 1 pair of capri pants where all to big. So yesterday my husband and I had to go into the city and I made a quick trip to Reitmans. I picked up a size 9 shorts and capri pants thinking they would fit in a couple of weeks maybe and to my surprise when I tried them on they fit. If anyone would of saw me when I did them up they would of burst out laughing. I was in the change room doing a happy dance!! I don't remember the last time I was in a single digit size. Has to be at least 20 years. Can't wait for it to quit raining here now so I can wear them.

you know, come to think of it, i have NO IDEA where my first spot to gain is... i haven't been below 165 since before high school i think. i was always the girl who was actively into wprkouts(and dance class) but was always heavier on the scales. looking back at myself now i laugh at how ridiculous i was for being so worried about the number. and that low weight was with help of the now fda-forbidden metabolife with ephedrine. all i know is that my arms have been the biggest part on my body since i can remember, i think it's genetic, my mom's got big arms and so did her mom. i hope to start some weight training soon, so maybe that will help tone and burn the fat from my bye bye flab

That is fantastic!! Way to go cdsclark!! What a great feeling.

Congratulations!!!
I love the process of cleaning out the closet, did it again this weekend. Yesterday I took 4 bags and two boxes of clothes to the thrift store. My belief is once they don't fit anymore, get rid of them. I now only have one pair of shorts, they ft now but didn't when I bought them three weeks ago (they were on clearance, couldn't pass them up).

Thanks Jordanna, I guess for now it's just one of those mysteries!..
I've been exercising about 20 minutes a day at moderate intensity (getting heart rate up to about 60% of max) for several months, so I decided I'd just keep at it when I started IP... I really would like to be able to do more, but I'll hold back on upping my time/intensity for now, 'til I see how the diet goes...
I was wondering what everyone does for their oil requirements? The handouts I got at my consult said 1-2 tsp each day....Dr. Tran Tien's website says 1-2 tbsp per day....which is right?
