Hi Obi and CC. My Dh is fasting right now which makes me want to speed things up. But I know that I fasted off and on for over 20 yr. and just got heavier. I have to keep reminding myself that IE is the only way I have lost weight and have kept it off even if I am not as thin as I was when I got married. He got inspired from my DD who has been doing the cleanse off and on this year.

@tammy. In the beginning I was constantly asking myself how hungry am I on a scale of 1-10 and really thinking about it. It takes work, just like any other plan. Hang in there.
@Carol - Stick to your guns what works for some doesn't work for others. I've tried fasting and all the happens at the end if I overeat when its all over. You've managed to keep the weight off so you're doing something right.
Well sometimes you're on the wagon, sometimes you're under it. PMS kicked me in the tushie today. Worse eating day since I re-started my program. I stopped before I got too bad. Back at it tomorrow.
Well, my DH made it a day and a half and drank a big glass of apple cider last night. Now he thinks he'll stick with juice until he can't stand it anymore. Sometimes I feel like a failure as I have told all those close to me about IE. And know one gets it. My DS is really overweight and I feel so for him. I know how hard that is.
Hello all. Well I just read the Overfed Head and it's "just" another book on IE, and I don't mean to sound like it's less than other books, I mean it more or less has the same message as IE, Eden Diet, Weigh Down and Lightweigh. There is something in the book that puzzled me though, he also says eat when you are hungry, eat what you want, but instead of stopping when full he says to stop when you are no longer hungry, now that is new to me, more or less, usually it says to stop when full or satisfied, so I will re-read the book and see if I can get more insight into stop when you are no longer hungry. Any thoughts? Have a blessed evening.
Where is everyone? Ok, I have a question. Those of you who have read the book by Roth about Women Food and God, could you please tell me what the book is about, I am thinking about ordering it, but am not sure, is it IE and did it help you? thanks and God BLess. Tammy
Thanks Carol. I know she has a few out there, but before I go and spend money on another book I wanted to make sure what the book was about. If it's not about IE I probably won't read it, that's where I tend to get in trouble, by following too many authors advice or trying to find the perfect diet, well I am tired of looking and I think IE is the way for me because I am too busy to count or measure or keep track of anything. Thanks for the answer. God Bless. Tammy
Very quick post. @carol. I'll be picking that up today.
Father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, had it removed yesterday. I'm back and forth (1.5 - 2 hr dr) staying on plan.
Thought I was pregnant for about a week, but I think the weight lost and change in eating habits has thrown my TOM out of wake so has been an interesting week.
Much stuff , IE related to post, will be back Sunday.
Well, my dh has lost almost 20lb first fasting, then on 500 calories a day and tomorrow 1000 calories, this in just over a week!!! Sure doesn't work for me, even though I have fasted 4 days once.
Oh, Carol men can lost weight just by willing it off I think! I get sick if I fast, I have tried it and I cannot do it, I have tried fasting on bread and water, no good, heartburn from ****! I am not getting notifications by email when there are new posts to this thread, do I need to change something in my profile? have a blessed evening all. Tammy
hey guys, Dad is home recovering and fussing enough that I know he's ok. Eating has been weird. I had a Halloween event and did some over eating, but I'm ok with it. TOM was this week and I actually noticed myself retaining water, so I'll get on the scale this Saturday.
Will be back to working out Thursday.
My ex lost 30 lbs by switching one meal a day to tuna fish. I wanted to bop him. I figure let me do it the way I know works for ME. When he stopped doing it he started gaining weight back. I would be curious to see what happens to your husband once he's back on a regular diet since the fasting is a temporary thing.
