Good afternoon ladies! Okay lets try this again and hopefully I won't lose it. How was everyones weekend? Mine was great....Kev and I went downtown to the Field Museum and then out for dinner. It was so nice to walk around the museum without kids. After dinner we went to see the movie Blood Diamond. It was a great movie although it was very disturbing. It was just so awful to see the things that happened in Africa. I just could not imagine someone coming into my town and shooting innocent people men,women, and children. The really disturbing part was young boys were trained to do the killings and just to see boys my sons age shooting people was awful. Our weekend was great though. Eating wise I have been awful. I don't know what my deal is but I am seeing I have a promblem with binge eating and need to figure out how to fix it. I eat somedays wonderful and then some days I eat until I feel sick. I don't know why I do this to myself but I am seeing a definite pattern and want to keep a close eye on it and figure a way to beat this once and for all. This weekend my mom is taking my kids for the weekend so Kev and I have the whole weekend to ourselves. Friday night we are going downtown to see a concert and then Sat. we are going to go out with Cindy and Aaron hopefully. I am just looking forward to a weekend alone with Kev...we really need it right now! Hope you ladies have a great day!

Hi all! Well, I'm afraid to talk too soon, as my good intentions often fall by the wayside, but so far this eating plan is working well. I made two recipes from the Sonoma Diet Cookbook, which I took out of the library, and one from the Dietbook, which I bought, and all were really good. There was a grilled marinated flanksteak which was great, and a bean chili which was good, and a chicken salad with feta cheese which I really liked. The recipes are fairly simple, healthy, and well balanced. What is going to take changing is eliminating all my snacking and desserts...and making sure I keep up with my exercise. I think I overdid it last week, and was unbelievably exhausted Fri-Mon, unless it was some sort of bug. Anyhow, I ordered Karen Voights dvd series, Sleek something, from Collage video, and started it yesterday, and like it very much. I had read about it at the Videoforum.com site, and people were raving about it. It consists of three dvds and a foam roller, to be used in sequence over a 10 day cycle. So far I have done the cardio dvd and like it alot...lots of kickboxing moves, but modified. And I am still doing my daily 45 min of cardio in the early morning. The push is on!

Hello ladies how are you all doing? Well my weigh-in went much better this week. I am down 2 pounds from last weigh-in so happy about that. I am going to really try my hardest not to blow it this weekend. That is my downfall eating whatever on the weekend and then gaining back the weight I lost during the week. Tonight Kev and I are going downtown Chicago for a concert. I am excited just a little nervous about driving downtown on a weekend night. Tommorow Cindy and her husband and myself and Kev are going out for lunch and a movie. I can't wait and my kids are super excited to spend some time with there Nana. Well I did my cardio 4 days this week and weights 2 times and due for them today. I have a bit of picking up and laundry to do to get ready for the weekend and thats about it with me. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Susan I don't know if I mentioned it but love your pic. I having a face to put with the people that help me so much. Your meals sound delish. Keep up your great work!

Well all is good here I haven't got any exercise in yet I got up and went to the grocries store this morning (it is storming here) and now we are waiting for the girls friend to come over for the night so I probably will not get any done today . Uaually if I do not do it in the morning I don't get it done at all. Hope you all have a good weekend mine will busy.
Happy weekend all! I am so ready for it! Tomorrow I am museuming out with a friend, then Sunday am working out with my former trainer and then going out to lunch. Have been soooo good this week...even yesterday, when I allowed myself two cookies I still ended up under 1500 calories. This eating plan is really good...it keeps me full. And when I feel mouth hunger I try to remember to chew gum.

Thought I'd start the week off tonight....hi all, hope you had a good weekend. I am really pleased, am back to the 156 I hit for barely a day....seems like months ago....and this time I think it's really solid. Have been sticking to my eating plan...for this coming week made indian chicken curry w/ quinoa and broccoli; also grilled porkchops w/ brown rice and asparagus, so my frig is packed with healthy dishes. Also discovered a new kind of fruit I had never noticed before at the korean market I go to called sharon fruit....it's like eating candy! It is in the persimmon family, has no seeds, you can eat the skin and everything, and it is so sweet. According to the website I found, it's only 70 calories, and packed with nutrients. I have never seen it before, but I'm going to keep getting it as long as I can find it in the store...makes a great dessert when I am craving sweets.
Today woke at 4, was really annoyed, so got up and walked the treadmill for a half hour, then went back to sleep and later did my chest, shoulders and triceps, then went to the gym and did a half hour of the elliptical. Feel really good about my progress....my clothes are fitting better, and my bulges are not quite so lumpy. Yahoo! May it continue!

Hello! Well, weigh in on Friday wasn't good. Up two pounds. It's so annoying to gain a couple, lose a couple, gain them back...But I'm ready to cut the crap and have a good week this week! I have to stick to my four workouts and do my weights, AND I have to eat healthy. I know this, it's just a matter of actually doing it.
Tina and I and our husbands had a great day on Saturday. We went out for Mexican food and then did a little browsing at the mall and then back to their house for drinks and games. It was really lots of fun! Did anyone ever play "apples to apples"? It's a really easy and very fun game!
Susan- You are doing SO great! I makes me want to get back in gear just hearing how well you're doing! The dishes you're cooking up sound really good. That fruit you found also sounds very interesting, I don't think I'd be able to find it anywhere here by me though...Well, keep up the great work, good for you!
Tina-Are you ready to have a good week and really get in some good workouts? I have got to get going here, this is getting just plain annoying. Like I said I have nothing going on this week so we should be able to get to Cardinal 4 times this week if all goes well. I really want to lose the last of this weight and I really want to tone up! Trying on bathing suits was a real eye opener!

Cindy~ I can sympathize with you , i think we all can. It is difficult to get back on the wagon completely once we have jumped off (I am gripping on trying to pull myself back up) I have fallen into "the winter eating" I am not gainning but not loosing either.
I did really well this weekend with exercising I got on the gazelle twice yesterday, granted the second time was only a half an hour and walking not jogging or running but at least I was moving. I survived this weekend. actually their friend was very well behaved , they haven't played together in over 1 year. They moved and then we moved, but we do see them out alot. i am glad she called,her parents are easy to get along with. Actually I wenty to school with them.
Well i am gonna try to get on the gazelle again tonight. Right now I goota go get my kids to get in the shower.

Because the less you weigh, the less calories your body uses doing everyday things. For instance, a 200 pound woman uses a lot more energy/calories walking a mile, than a 130 pound woman does...because she is hauling an extra 70 pounds along for the ride. This is why we can often start out at a higher calorie level and moderate exercise-and lose weight easily-but near goal we must drop to a lower calorie level and increase our exercise...and the weight still drops slowly.
Good day ladies! Well I don't know what to say about myself lately but I am really getting aggravated with myself! I can't seem to get my butt in gear and eat how I know I am supposed to. I keep eating junk junk and more junk. I know it is junk and I just don't seem to care until I go to weigh-in and want to throw my scale threw the window. I don't know what it is going to take to get my head on straight and do this! I just feel so confused about why I continue to do this to myself. I am doing okay with the working out part its just the eating part that keeps messing me up. I mean if I didn't work out for a hour and a half 4 days a week I would probably be 15 pounds heavier right now. I see the numbers going up instead of down and for a second I'm like okay thats not good but just as fast I'm grabbing some junk to eat. I don't know what the heck my deal is but I am sick and tired of going up and down with the same 5 pounds. I have to get my dang head on straight and do this already. I mean you all are so much inspiration to me and I see how well you all are doing and I think I can do that to but then never do it. I guess I am just really frustrated at this point and this dang cold weather is not helping me any. I like being outside away from the food and busy because I know half of my deal is boredom. It sounds like you are all on the right track though so keep up your good work!

It was sooo hard getting back here. It's been so busy. My housemate recently got hit by a car and broke both her legs, she has been in intensive care for almost 3 weeks. I miss her sooo much. I been beating myself up cos me and my other hsemate were arguing a lot. You know she admitted to me that sometimes she don't eat when she feels stressed bcos she wants to punish herself on some unconcious level, and i also feel that sometimes i over eat in order to punish myself too, cos i know how much i hate being fat. It's hard to understand that i can eat so much and have a belly ache and still wanna eat more.....I need to get back on this weight wagon again and i'm gonna make it.
Glad to see we don't have much to loose, it sure doesn't feel that way I've changed my goal to 10stone 7lbs (147 pounds) bcos i know this girl at that weight and my height and her body is fierce!!!I really need to start excercising everyday now though if i wanna look FIERCE too lol!!
I suppose there's only 1 1/2 stone (14 pounds) left now eh? I really need to get this off by the end of March hopefully. I've learnt so many tricks now...or should i say healthy habits. I'm on salads every evening now with some sort of protein.

well the past 2 nights I have not been able to get my second session of cario in. My right calf hurts in the evening but as soon as tht stops I am back at it.
My cals yesterday were barely 1200. Lately I have been having a hard time keeping them under 1600. my goal is 1400-1500 cals. well hopefully it will help the scale on weigh in day and make up for the "high" days.

Jen, are you doing enough stretching of your calves? Make sure you give them a good stretch each time.
Tina, would it help if you worked towards some rewards? Something that would keep you on the straight and narrow? Trying to figure out why you eat may help you to cope with your binges. If it is boredom, can you figure out ways to break up your routines, take on some projects that get you out of the house? Do you need to keep bad foods in the house? Do the kids really need them? Can you lock them away? Can you try to fill up on salads, soups, and good carbs? Good luck!
