Good Morning All

It's a beautiful sunny spring morning here in NY. The birds are singing, the crocuses are blooming with the daffodils close behind and I am feeling sooooo positive today!

I've been sticking to the WW points for the past 3 days and feeling skinny already I went clothes shopping for my upcoming trip and was a bit depressed to see how out of shape I am (damn those 3 way dressing room mirrors) but didn't let it get to me. Instead I came home and did a bit of yardwork to get myself moving. I just love this time of year!!!

After working outside I was pretty hungry and longing for some southern style barbecue. Rather than go to the local BBQ joint and splurging, I made a pretty good version of pulled pork at home. Instead of pork I used chicken legs and it wasn't half bad. That coupled with some baked beans and homemade lowfat coleslaw was yummy...especially when accompanied by an ice cold light beer. MMMM MMMM MMMM and all within my points allowance

Well....I want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. I think I'll take one of the dogs for a walk. Hope you are all having as nice a morning as I am

I totally NAILED this weekend

I've been sooooo good! With a couple of treats, but still good!

*sigh* DF is having a "nap" he's been asleep for about 2 hours and he won't sleep tonight (it's 9pm and he's still out for the count), I tried to wake him up so he could wash up, unsurprisingly he is still asleep! I've even got the washing machine on and music playing and I'm not being quiet and he's STILL asleep I'm sure he'll be wide awake when I want to sleep though! MEN!

Looking forward to tomorrow, when I can try out my size 10 (us 6) 3/4 length leggings!! I bought new running gear! I chickened out on the crop top though - the world isn't ready for my legs AND my flabby belly!

Ha! Jen! I have low rider sweat pants. I wear them with a t-shirt that goes most of the way to my knees!

I'd be ok with low rider sweats... but I bet they'd fall down constantly! My below belly button bits are ok, but when I've got high waisted stretchy trousers on and a crop top... it kinda mushes up what's inbetween!

I made it through the weekend! I MADE IT THROUGH THE WEEKEND! I made it through the otherside 2lbs lighter

Must get more weights workouts in! It's my D that's a bit on the low side at the moment - so much to do, so little time! I'll try harder this week!

Well I just thought I would let you all know I am only 5lbs away from my goal now. Unfortunately I have not had any appetite for almost a week and that has caused me to lose 4lbs. Last Monday night my oldest nephew was murdered and I had to make the arrangements and travel so it has been hard on me and my appetite has vanished. I hope it comes back soon.

What an ispiring bunch you guys are! I didn't get to visit the boards this weekend but I sure wish I had. I might not have struggled so much if I'd read your posts the past couple of days. I managed to do okay this weekend but it was hard. I had to force myself to make good choices all weekend. My son had spend the night company which meant there was more junk food than usual in the house.

Today should be my "official" weigh in but I've decided to put the scales away for a while. I don't like to admit it but I am driven by that number. I think one reason I've been getting complacent the past few months is because I watch that number go down and then justify more splurges than I should by telling myself that I have a little wiggle room. I figure if I don't get on the scale I have to assume the worst and be very careful of what I eat and exercise harder.

I'm starting to realize that losing weight for health reasons is much easier than for pure vanity. At 214 pounds looking bad was the least of my problems. The size 2 jeans I have hanging in my room are not nearly as motivating as the fear I had when my health was at stake.

It sounds like everyone is right on track. Keep up the good work ladies!

for Ilene

Had a minor victory/slip-up however you want to look at it last night! My parents were in town, and so I met up with them for dinner, just on the spur of the moment. I blew off kickboxing and went out for dinner Never mind, because I just had salad but it came with nice bread and dressing so it was probably still a humungous amount of calories! It was lovely though, and I enjoyed it more than I would've enjoyed a pizza that would've left me feeling all bloated and in a carb coma!

Anyway, so after dinner I met up with DF who hadn't had dinner. We were looking at going somewhere else so I could have pudding and he could have dinner. Well all the places we looked were expensive and he wasn't too hungry anyway, so he bought a salad noodle thing from a corner shop and I got myself some chocolate. I ate about 3 pieces and went home satisfied. I didn't binge, I didn't think, "Well I've blown it" or "I NEED a dessert" and I didn't nibble mindlessly when I got home, which is what usually happens! I even resisted a bite of DF's fruit pie - there will always be fruit pies and I know they're full of trash ingredients so it wouldn't have tasted very nice anyway!

So I got home, popped to the shop for vegetables and made a stir fry for our lunches today! It's strange, a salad can do all that to a person. Even if it's not a particularly healthy salad! I'm sure if I'd had a pizza it would've been a different story!

So I'm back on track today with healthy stir-fry, lots of oaty goodness things and a run at lunch and kickboxing tonight

2Frus, it's all a matter of perspective. You chose to take what could have been a negative and turned it into a positive. Kudos to you!
