OMG that cracked me up so much. That was random bwahahahaah! I finished reading the portion and I was like ''whaaaaat''

The sea salt in the oatmeal must taste so goooood. Never thought about it either. Did you got any news from your trainer?

Hey, I said they were random thoughts!

It really is... but it makes sense, right? In just about every dessert or baked goods recipe it calls for a pinch of salt. I recently tried the Haagen daas Salted Caramel Truffle ice cream, and it was amazing! Try it.

Just did actually. As suspected he's leaving things as they are for a few days until he sees updated photos and we speak on Thursday. Easy enough!

Did you remember to check your weight this morning? LOL

Good morning, all!

Had another awesome workout this morning. I ran 4 miles at a pretty slow pace with occasional walking moments thrown, took me almost 50 minutes! Anyway, I did it, though, and then I did some strength training. I'm starting with the machines right now because I'm a weakling! But I feel like I'm pushing myself to my maximum. So what if I only am at 20 pounds on some of the machines!

@turbo - yep, I rarely regret a workout.

@Bayzee - I so admire your willpower with the wine. Not having wine on a Friday night sounds very difficult!

@jossfit - yep, I rarely regret a workout, like I said to turbo! The only time I have is those times when I've been sick and I pushed myself when I shouldn't have. I hope you got some good feedback from your coach!

Hola ladies!

REAL QUICK CHECK IN!

I did remember to WI this morning (... almooost forgot again...) and I was down to 140.8! OH YEAH

I applied on a job friday afternoon and the boss emailed me yesterday, saying he wants to meet me. I have an interview tomorrow afternoon. It's my first interview in a real adult job life (my last one was 5 years ago, when I was still a undergrad student), it's in an english speaking lab, I'm stressed as h*ll, I had to go and shop for something proper to wear in a hurry this morning. Oh god.

I think I'll head out for a run to 1) burn the calories of the waffles I ate this morning and 2) try to relax a bit, I'm on the edge of freaaaaking out LOL

Have a nice Sunday ladies!

Sunday already?

Last night we went out for dinner with friends. I ordered a meal within my plan and calories...beef tenderloin with a garden salad with balsamic vinegar on the side. It also came with grilled veggies, but I didn't eat them. They looked saturated in oil or some sauce, so I didn't bother.
OK...I DID order a glass of wine and milked it all night. Usually we order a bottle to the table (or 2) so this was a first. I had to order the wine...I didn't want my friends to think I was pregnant! lol! They didn't really "ask" why I wasn't drinking, but I felt like I had to justify why I didn't want to order a bottle. I just said, I've been working out hard and watching what I eat, so I don't want to over drink tonight.

While I didn't stay perfectly on plan...I am very happy with my choices. However...I was MISERABLE Friday night, so I went into the restaurant knowing I was going to order a glass. I just wanted to take the whole pressure off.

When I got up, hubby had the coffee ready, so I drank a couple of cups and had my breakfast...dang! Forgot to weigh-in. Oh well...I'm sure the sodium fiiled steak would have been bad news anyhow. It's quite amazing how salty things taste when you've cut it out for a while.

_________________________________

Joss...I don't put salt on my food. I'm not a fan really. I like salt on my chips though I put cinnamon on my oatmeal. Sometimes I add pure vanilla extract or vanilla beans when I'm cooking for hubby and I.
Glad to see your happy with staying put with your program.

Turbo...With no or less drinking on the weekends, I don't know what to do? lol! I might be boooored too!

Olecat...Yay on the workout! Keep it up!

Glad to see your happy with staying put with your program.
I use a wide variety of extracts and flavorings (natural of course) in my oatmeal and quinoa, but I'm finding that tiny pinch of salt really brings out all those flavors.

And yep, no issue with the program whatsoever... I didn't anticipate there would be and I knew what I was getting into. I'm still rather enjoying it so far.

I hate when I order dinner and the 'steamed' veggies or whatever get topped with a coating of some ickiness... I just can't trust it! I'm sorry you felt miserable on Friday, and keeping it to one glass of wine is a pretty big step especially considering how crappy you felt the night prior!

Turbo - Nicely done this morning! I bet that was nice to see!

What is the job interview for? That's so exciting! I hope you find something awesome to wear and nail it! Keep us posted!

Olehcat - The feedback from my coach was good, thanks for asking! He's happy and as I figured would be the case, he's not making any changes until he sees updated photos and we have our phone consultation (on Thursday). For the next few days it's business as usual.

Great job on the run! When is your 1/2 again? Are you doing a training program or just doing your own thing?

Off for a nice relaxing massage! Hopefully continuing to get them regularly will help with my muscle recovery since I'm not getting full rest days on this program.

Ughhhhh I'm hungover and I have NO IDEA WHY. Last night I had a glass of wine, a gin & tonic, and a beer. THAT'S IT. But I spent the morning puking. What gives!? I would think it was food poisoning, but I ate everything that boyfriend and friend ate.

3 drinks should not give me this hangover of death; that is just rookie. Oddly, the last time I had very few drinks and a horrible hangover, it was at the same restaurant. Hmmm.

No personals, as I'm about to crawl back under my blanket, but I'm thinking of all you bad@ss ladies and hoping you guys had an awesome weekend.

Dorian...Mixing maybe? When I mix drinks throughout the night, I get hungover. If I am having wine..it's wine all night and MAYBE a beer if I'm thirsty at the end.
Or...It could quite possibly be food related. You might be having a reaction to an ingredient or oil or something they use.
Send the boyfriend for some Vitamin Water and some pepto bismal (caplets only, you won't be able to get the liquid stuff down). It should help...so does Alka Seltzer!

The job is for a position of assistant in a research lab in Montréal, they are doing some really interesting stuff there!

I dragged the boyfriend to the mall this morning and after trying to find something at H&M, losing my temper about how everything was not fitting and not finding my freakinnnng size, I went to some expensive but top killer quality thing and bought a really nice suit (which cost me a FORTUNE but I'll be able to wear it again. ... right? RIGHT!? LOL)

Oh and I found a cheap pair of black boots to pair it with at Walmart. F YEAH.

olehcat : Awesome workout!! Way to make this Sunday worth it!

Bayzee : Way to go on resisting to the wine! Yummm steack.

Dorian : Aw, poor you! I hope you'll feel better really soon *hugs*

Sorry that I can't really keep up with the chat. I've been so busy. Quick check in: Had a great weekend. Cooked up 3lbs of chicken. Have all my veggies and oatmeal in the fridge already. Spent time with friends, hit the gym hard with hours of spin... I included some moderation too: went to a bar last night with my bestie and inhaled half of a small pizza. Lol, it was awesome. I still weigh 109.5 this morning so ... feeling great. Looking forward to Valentine's Day--I have a rave to go to. Going to focus on maintaining 109.5-110 this week! Have spin class today at 12:15 and will do a FB lift in the evening.

Good morning, feathers!

I haven't weighed in the last few days. I know my weekend was not as bad as last weekend, but it wasn't great either. I didn't drink as much, but still a bit over the top. Plus, I ate chips yesterday so I just know the scale would be up just because of the salt.

I have a plan for this week. One week at a time! I have my meals planned out for today. I hope to get out and run outside when I get home from class, even though it will be dark and windy and cold by then.

This week will be horrendous, with my two classes, parent/teacher conferences, and other things. Basically I'm never going to be home and my cats will think I've abandoned them.

@jossfit - I'm loosely following Hal Higdon's half marathon training schedule! It's in late April, so who knows what the weather will be like, could be cold OR hot.

Everyone else - here's to an awesome week!

Dorian ~ Yes, SSvSS = supersize vs superskinny. I'm a big fan, too and watching more now that the new season has started. Lol - at your random posting. I've never been much of a gamer (does boggle count?) but I've been wanting to start doing something to improve my comprehension... Worth a look...

Joss ~ heh - I did not in fact know that military sex was illegal if you're over the limit... Don't drink n' er.... do the nasty? I love hearing how creative you are with your food. Do you find that the little extras (extracts, etc) helps you stick to the plan easier? The cameraderie with the other people trained by your coach also sounds like a huge plus.

Turbo ~ Fingers crossed for that job interview!!! Exciting!!! And you're my height twin, so it looks like you're leading to a great place. Blaze the trail, girl!

Aiden ~ Those are all great things to stock up on. Food sounds so simple and hassle free for you at this point.

Krampus ~ Hope you're having fun in the Florida sun right now!

olehcat ~ The *after-workout* feeling is a great motivation! Who cares how much you can press/lift? The point is that you're DOING it and that is fantastic.

Bayzee ~ That seems like the hallmark of a good program: it adapts with your lifestyle yet still serves you and your goals. Why were you miserable on Fri--end of the week blues or was it food related?

~~~
Had a bit of the snowstorm hibernate mode going on over the weekend. Not the best choices, but I did finally get my AM workout in (Sat morning) and went for a walk in the snow on Sunday. Gradually adding exercise back in (don't know why I ever stopped) but it feels good to get back to it and, interestingly, like my body is less ... jiggly... at this weight than I was previously. More muscle maybe?
Going over food/fitness logs (paper journals) from this time last year, I can see that I do tend to fall into a bit of the "winter comfort" eating trap. I love that I have that record and can rely on some of the healthy habits (keeping track of what I eat and exercising) to get me through this patch. I find that the neater my food/exercise log is, the better the chance that I'm staying on program, so I'm going to focus on making those logs the neatest I possibly can... Cause/effect hopefully.
In non-food/fitness related goal news, I managed to make 4.5/7 hours of practice that I set out for myself. Now the challenge will be to see what difference that makes in rehearsal on Tue. I feel like playing in orch makes everything better and the better I feel about myself in this area, the better I feel about everything... Here's hoping.
Onward and upward!
Oooh Monday... I dislike you immensely.
At least this afternoon's organized PT was cancelled... I really did not feel like running, especially considering my workout from my coach is already done. Weights and then 45 minutes of hard cardio is enough for one day!
My weight was back up a bit today, which seems to be the pattern I'm establishing on Mondays so I'm not concerned... normal fluctuations.
Not much other than that going on!
Alex - I find that experimenting with differenct seasonings, flavorings, extracts and food combinations not only makes it easier to stick to the plan, but it makes it down right enjoyable! I really do look forward to all my meals and I'm sort of constantly surprising myself with what I can come up with, especially now that things are so limited!
Heck yeah for less jiggle! I feel the same way; last time I was at this weight or anywhere near it I was not as firm, so that's a plus. More importantly though you FEEL good getting back into working out!
I'm impressed you keep your workout/dietary logs. I have been using a little notebook for YEARS now (I use the BodyMinder journals) and they last like 90 days... I would have STACKS of them if I kept them around! I've tried keeping them once or twice but I never actually went and looked at old ones so I just tossed them anyway.
Oooh, there is a new season of SSvSS?! I've got to see if they're on Youtube! What season are they in now?
Olehcat - Sounds like a good approach! I'm a major planner so pre-planning meals and workouts is not only crucial for me, but also enjoyable; I like the process of planning things out and I do it for a week in advance usually.
Sounds like you had a nice, balanced weekend!
Aidan - Looks like you had a very busy weekend and had a really great mix of stuff going on!
A rave on Valentines Day sounds like a blast... if you're anyone but me! I HATE crowds and the idea of clubs and stuff like that sometimes allow me to forget that fact until I get there and am sharply reminded of it.
Turbo - YES, RIGHT! You made a good choice, and you got the boots for much less money so it's totally a win!
Did you interview yet?!
Dorian - I'm with Bayzee... it might have been the mix of things that gave you the hangover. Did you eat beforehand? I hope you're all better today!
Dang Joss, those body minder journals are hard core! That's like professional-grade structure, man.
I just use ones from the dollar store and I go through 'em about every 90 days, too. I have journals starting from about 2006 (close to 20 or so!). I was debating chucking the lot, but especially now that I'm in kind of a fitness/eating downswing, I feel like they give me perspective about where I was and where I can be again. They especially help me pinpoint seasonal patterns in my eating behavior and help me to see that hey, I haven't always been in such a downer place about food.
And I think SSvSS is on season 6. It's airing right now in the UK on Tuesdays and there's a guy on youtube (Philipe Chaim, or something like that?) who posts links to his uploading of full episodes.
Turbo ~Absolutely you'll be able to wear that suit again. Good clothes never go out of style. Think of it as an investment in your professional career. Where did you end up getting it from?
Just a quick check-in. I'm so busy at work today.
I weighed in at 113.4 today, so I'm up! It could be water weight because I'm really sore again from my arms workout, but I'm not going to overanalyze the whole thing. I'm up...that's it! I hope it's like Joss' Monday pattern because I too can't stand Monday's.
The workouts are going well and so is the nutrition plan. But today I feel really hungry. This is the first time I've felt hungry since I started the new program. I went though a week last month where I could have eaten everything in sight, so maybe that is what's going on.
It's a holiday weekend in Ontario this weekend coming...Family Day! I'm really worried about it because we are getting together with family and there is a lot of eating and drinking going on when we get together. I hope I can manage to make good choices
