Turbo ~ Yay!!! Hurray for Oscar princess dresses. And the "seashells" pizza does sound exactly like the name. Yummy!

Olehcat ~ Good for you for being on the right track! Glad that water is on its way OUT of your body, too.

Joss ~ *big hugs* Sounds like you made the decision that was right for you. No one here can doubt your commitment AT ALL and ultimately, you are the expert on your body. SO GLAD that you booked the trip to visit your hubby!!! That's probably the biggest win yet.

thebunneh ~ Hi there. I'm with you on being back on the daily weigh-in wagon in March.

~~~
Went for a walk/run last night, so that's exercise on 1 out of the 4 days left in Feb. I'm holding a ton of water this morning, though. It hurts to bend my legs. Ugh.
They're just small body-related victories, but still...
GOOD FOR YOU, JOSS!!! His attitude was so obnoxious! And no, that is not a healthy diet for anyone! AND WTF kind of trainer doesn't see a rest day as a necessity!? You HAVE to have rest days. It's essential to your body & muscles functioning properly. What a douche! I'm glad you quit. I'm sure he gets great results, but it's at a cost. You don't have to be a trainer to know you need healthy fats in your diet every single day AND a day for your body to rest, even if it's just a mental health day. You're better off without him. You know what you need to do - look at your results! 3lbs, my a$$!
Scale was down .5 from yesterday but I only ate like 1000 calories yesterday, so it's not a real loss. I am backed up which happens more frequently after having my daughter - NEVER had this issue before I got pregnant with her. So, maybe not going for a few days is my issue or maybe my body is just being stupid & doesn't want to do what I want it to do. :P
olehcat : Great jump on the woosh!
Joss : I really don't get your trainer. To me, a trainser is someone who LISTEN and CARE for the freacking HEALTH of their clients! I just don't get his move, you go and be honest about how tired you are and he just go, minimilizing your loss (seriously, wth!) and than cut even more to the program. I do agree with you, the cuts were going in some kind really unhealthy territory!
I'm kinda happy for you that you, I care for your health!! It wasn't feeling your were in a good place for these past couple of weeks
My little goddaugther is growing up She is still so tiny (not even 3 months) but now I feel so much safer taking her LOL She fell asleep on me yesterday, it was just a sweet moment (and my cousin was thrilled because she got time to clean the house around a bit too while I was taking care of the little thing LOL)
I was thinking about trying some legs machine thing today basically i do everything with bodyweight and dumbbells but I want to start pushing a bit more, with the Spartan Race coming up. Was thinking about squat to start, and than seated leg press, some leg curl and extension and another thing I have no idea how it is called LOL
TheBunneh : Welcome back in the 140s!!! You must be so thrilled!
Alexis : Great job on the workout, but it sucks for your legs though! :S
You say is just small body-related victory... they may be small, but they are still victories Embrase them!
***
Woke up at 139.2 this morning, after eating chips and everything on Sunday. YESSS. I was really carrying my bottle of water everywhere I was going and peeing a LOT, so I guess it paid off. Planning to hit the gym after a light lunch and have a nice workout. I also had an awesooooome poop, probably like 4.5/5. YEAH.
We are having issues about next weekend adventure.. We are going with friends snowshoeing and sleeping in a cabin in the wood (not a cabin like Krampus went too hehehe). you can't reach the cabin with a car, you have to snowshoe with your things on 1.2 km before reaching it. Nobody was really proposing anything for food plan so I took the lead and proposed a spaghetti dinner, to keep it nice and simple. But my friend said she would really love to have fondue/hot pot, because it really feels like something you do in a cabin... but JESUS, so much more stuff to carry (like, carrying a hot pot kit with our sleeping bag and other foods and everything? SOUNDS FUN). But the girl is like that, she's a dear friend, but she will always come around and throw another suggestion/choice in the pot to make thing more complicated LOL ... I really just don,t want to carry 15 more pounds through the wood just for the fun of it :P (I'd really make room for wineee instead of hot pot broth bwhahaha)
Have a good day ladies!
Hectic work day today. Scale is down - 123.6 - cardio this AM and went to Pilates after work. Pilates SUCKED but the pain in my abs/core suggests it's good for me - also the stretching was probably nice. I'm SO SORE from deadlifting and still severely aching from tricep extensions/tri work on my hungover Saturday, blech.
Trying to sign up for a QuickBooks training course...finding all these promising looking courses that have in small print BS like
Quote:
"Computer-less training makes every moment count. You can learn more in less time with our dynamic hands-off teaching approach."
Yeah great thanks, I'm really going to learn a lot about a COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROGRAM from sitting in a room watching someone else do stuff on a computer.
TurboMammoth Yaaaay for a great poo and a good weigh-in. Good way to start Tuesday, which is my least favorite day of the week. As far as your plans go, isn't it the worst when people are indecisive and then make it more complicated than it needs to be?! I'm cabin-ing in the woods this weekend too - and we are trying to organize with a LOT of people and it's stressful but not THAT stressful because the important stuff (kegs and items which will transport us to alternate universes) is taken care of.
Maddie 0.5 down is better than nothing! Constipation sucks - do you take a fiber supplement or psyllium husk or "smooth move" tea or anything? It's pretty crazy how bodies change drastically with childbirth and after pregnancy. Some people's shapes transform!
Alex I'm soooo sore too - I tried to touch my toes this morning, NOT HAPPENING. Nicely done on the exercise front!!!
JossFit You're free now!!!!!!!!!!!!! That program sounds like BS, I was wondering if it would be a terrible match for someone who has other priorities in life aside from getting in bikini competition shape AT ANY COST including sanity or eating food they like or enjoying exercise. So a hearty "welcome back -" pixellate and I were talking about how you obviously know as much if not more than any trainer about how YOU lose weight and feel your best with regards to diet and exercise - AND ENJOY THE QUEST BARS, I'm eating one now and it is pure joy.
A Feathers meetup IN THE FACE would be awesome, what would we do? Eat salads and tuna together? :P I hope you enjoy visiting your husband and have a great time!!!
TheBunneh Woohoo for consistent lower weigh-ins! Being in a new decade feels great as long as you're moving down and not up. I'm already used to my hair by now - didn't you make a drastic change to yours the last time you posted regularly here??
olehcat HOORAY for water weight dropping!
Alexistrophic Boo to water retention. It's always uncomfortable. Good job with the walk/run!
Turbo Good luck at the gym!
krampus I think I was talking about dyeing my hair black when I was posting here before. The dye is still sitting in my cabinet! lol. I'm probably going to take the leap and try it when my hair is a little longer because I'm really curious and I've been thinking about it for years. I am scared of what it'll look like when it grows out though. Fake black with light brown roots... yeaaaah, that'll be sexy.
Good evening, feathers!
I feel pretty good today. Now, I did have a very small glass of wine this evening, but if you'd had the day I did, you would, too. Seriously, it was my only indulgence today, and I am hit-by-a-truck tired. I've been up since 3 a.m. since I couldn't sleep, had a day at work in which I totally didn't feel on my game, had a class from **** for three hours. I am so beat I can't do anything but stare dumbly into the computer screen....:-p No running today or yesterday and probably no time tomorrow, literally no time unless I go right at my bedtime which isn't going to happen. So this will be a lighter exercise week.
Anyway...
@Krampus - you have been having some amazing weigh-ins still, despite all the awesome things you eat. You're who I want to be when I grow up! And as for the water weight, I just FEEL way less bloated today. And I hate it when that hair cut thing happens! I totally sympathize. I'm growing my hair out, too, and it's taking FOREVER. Two years ago I got a VERY short pixie cut. It looked cute, but I quickly got bored of it and wanted longer hair again. OMG, never again. I will NEVER go that short again, only because it has taken over a year and a half to get just past shoulder length again! Of course I'm making it slower by getting trims every 3 months or so, but if I don't, my hair (very fine and wavy in a not nice way) gets ragged looking.
@Turbo - holy crap, you have to snowshoe to get to the cabin! Now that's roughing it in my book (considering how much I hate winter, LOL) And as for snow, we were supposed to have a snowstormish thing today -- it was ALL RAIN. Again we dodged yet another bullet. Just north and west of us got hammered.
@Maddie - here's hoping you have a great poop tomorrow ! Also, I saw your blog, too. I LOVE reading success stories, am totally addicted to them, so that was fun to read!
@Alex - yes, it feels really good (not so bloated!) Hope your bloat calms down, too! Oh, and as for body shape? I think I am that mesomorph shape! I am certainly not tall and willowy, but I have a pretty small frame (under the current flab, haha) but I do put on muscle easily, so makes sense to me! Interesting!
@Aidanqm - yep, definitely water weight! I had that 2.2 pound whoosh yesterday!
@Jossfit - OMG!!! I'm so proud of you! I started to read the first part of your post where you talked about the changes he was making for you and I'm shaking my head and saying, NO GOOD!!! (fat is GOOD, don't take it away!) NOT HEALTHY! TOO MUCH! And then I saw where you said you quit. I'm SO glad you took a day to rest and eat crap. Yeah, you'll feel bad for a day, but you'll easily get back into healthy and I bet you'll see a big whoosh! What a dillweed! (that coach). As for my whoosh? I ate very clean yesterday and I was/am probably retaining a LOT of water. I hope I"ll have another whoosh tomorrow. I suspect my "real" weight is in the 144-145 range. Man, if I could get it down to 139 in the next month, I'd be one happy peep!
@TheBunneh - Thank yoU!!
Olehcat: Thanks! It felt pretty amazing to finally be able to write that! At that point, I was 148 & had NO idea I'd ever get down to 135! 148 was my original goal, but then I realized I could fly past it...so I did
Good morning, girls! Headed to a town about 40 minutes for a playdate with our littles but I wanted to check in & say I finally had my whoosh! 135.1! I have no idea what it was, nothing really changed, so I think it was probably a hormone thing. It was the hardest & most ridiculous ovulation I've had in a while...my body is ready to make babies! LOL! So, I really think that was the only thing that bumped me up & kept me there.
Hope you all have a great HUMP day! Happy humping! Bahahaha I crack myself up!
Happy hump day feathers!
Wow...this is a chatty group! I don't have time for personals today, just a quick drive-by on my lunch break.
I'm feeling better but I still have a nagging cough and a runny nose. My energy still isn't 100% but it's certainly on its way back!
My weight is all over the map, so I'm not even going to weigh-in till Friday. I haven't missed any workouts and I'm staying on plan with my calories and macros. I feel like I'm having TOM cramps and back pain, but TOM is not suppose to be on the way. NO, I'm not preganant, but I think water weight is reflecting on the scale this week. MaddieB's post reminded me that it could be ovulation, but I don't usually get that kind of pain or symptoms.
But who knows these days...as you get older, the body has a mind of its own!
Congrats to all of you who are seeing some progress and for those who feel stuck...keep on pushing! Eventually, hard work pays off!
olehcat ~ Man, I can relate to that "hit by a truck" tired feeling. Haven't been sleeping so great myself, either, although I think it's down to my mattress. You totally earned that glass of wine.
bunneh ~ Water is down a bit today, thank GOODNESS!
Maddie ~ Happy "woosh day" to you!!! Hope the playdate is tons of fun all around. Hormones really do throw a wrench into the whole equation.
Turbo ~ Your cabin adventure sounds like great times in the making. Keeping it simple is the way to go in my book, but I can see your friend's point with suggesting something more festive in the hotpot/fondue. And loving that you're able to eat salty and still wake up under 140... You are my height twin weight inspiration.
Krampus ~ Do you mean "pilates sucks" as in was difficult, or sucks as in wasn't good for you? I always feel like it stresses my neck too much, but that might just be because I don't do it right... Who knows? Were you in a class or doing it on your own?
Bayzee~ Glad you're feeling better! Weight comes second to feeling better, yes?
Joss ~ Ooooh, meant to mention that I tried the So Delicious coconut creamer and it is fantaaaaastic! Excellent rec. How are you doing out there? And hellz yeah to a feathers meet up someday! We'd sit around drink wine and eat nachos... then go for a 10 mile run the next day.
~~~
Managed to get in a quick mile+ run before rehearsal yesterday which puts me at exercise for 2/4 days left in Feb. Baby goals, I say!!! I'm trying to be gentle with myself and keep looking on the upside.

I've got to say, reviewing my old food journals really works wonders for motivation. I can look back over them and say, OK, this is how and what I was eating when I weighed XXX and this is how and what I was eating when I weighed YYY. Do I want to weigh X or Y? Then do those things! It's the same with going through archives on here... and if truth be told, spying on other members' threads *ahem*. Reminds me that it can be done!

To goal... and beyond!!!

Hi Feathers,

123.2 this AM. It's my REST DAAAAAAY today. I slept GREAT and had a 4.5 to 5 out of 5 star poo this morning so I'm feeling reeeeeal good. My sinuses and drip are almost gone - yesterday I was sure I was in trouble and loaded up on Airborne and nasal spray, and today I feel much better.

Nerdy board games night with some friends tonight - I convinced them not to order pizza on the grounds of "BF and I have sinus colds, dairy makes more mucus" and now we're getting sushi takeout instead. Tomorrow is Upper Body B of my new program. I umm can't do pull-ups or even dips properly yet - not sure if the pull-up assist machine or negatives or wide grip lat pulldown or what is better?

My DOMS from deadlifting two days ago is still epically bad. I can't even touch my toes - normally I can put my hands flat on the floor without bending my knees. Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Bayzee Yesssss for feeling better and feeling your energy returning. That's a great sign. I have weird TOM body-feelings too - whats with us?

MaddieBPhoto Hump hump hump back at you. You must feel great on whoosh-day! Happy playdate to your little people!

olehcat A glass of wine after a day-from-Satans-fiery-maw is a perfectly legitimate reward! Very glad to see your weight continuing to drop, water weight is a jerk. I often think about cutting my hair super short as a weight loss reward to myself, but I want to be able to have long hair sometimes for certain outfits or whatever, so I just keep it fairly long. I eat awesomely but I do eat a vast majority of healthy foods, and I mean I'm still pretty young. This probably won't/can't last forever. Sigh!

Random inquiry: Does anyone have any experience with a fitbit or bodybugg or one of those activity/sleep trackers? I use a standard pedometer that I've had for going on 2 years, but think it might be time for an upgrade.

Would love any suggestions!

Thanks, all!

Alex - I've never used one, but I'm not always the most up to speed with different technologies. I only just started wearing a HRM during my workouts!

I'm glad you like the creamer! I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee the past two mornings with the addition of my creamer again.

I'm also glad you got a little bit of a run in! Sometimes just checking that off the mental 'to do' list is huge for your self-confidence.

I like your idea of a meet up much more than Krampus'! LOL pizza over tuna salad! LOL

Krampus - I think that doing assisted pullups would be the best replacement if you can't do unassisted ones yet. Doing lat pulldowns is great, but you tend to use a lot more bicep and a little more momentum. Ideally you could incorporate both into your workouts and just progress that way.

Good call on the sushi swap! I have been thinking I'd really like some lately, and after speaking with steph (LockItUp) the other day and her telling me that she and her hubby went on a sushi date, I REALLY want some! LOL at least I can go visit my guy next week so maybe that's what we'll do for our date night.

Whoo hoo on the poops! I tell you what, I feel the same today. I slept like a baby last night and today I swear to goodness I've had like THREE 5-star poops. Yep, 3. I needed a rest and some more carbs more than I realized!

Bayzee - Doing your recomp plan, TOM, being sick... of course your weight is all over the place! I know that stopping my previous program, resting, extra carbs/food and all that is probably making my weight crazy too, so I'm also staying off the scale for a few more days.

Glad that you're starting to feel better!

Maddie - Hooray! Nice to see that your weight is going back in the direction you'd like it to! Have fun out with the kiddos today!

Olehcat - I honestly have no idea if I'll see a whoosh or not. My body feels crazy right now! All I know is that I needed the mental break and that the program was getting in the way of my life. I was waiting to see my husband until AFTER I was done! Stupid!

Speaking of whooshes though, look at you go! Thats what I'm talking about!

Hi to anyone I missed!!

So, yeah, weird day here. I took the day off of work and went to the gym for a light workout. I was doing things I haven't done since I started this program, and it kicked my butt more than I would have liked. I skipped the cardio because I super super hate it right now, but starting tomorrow I'll reintroduce it to my program and start lifting heavier again.

I've decided that I still want to get down to 120 pounds, and I still want to do it by the end of March or early April... I'm just doing it MY way. I'll check my weight on Saturday morning after things have evened out a bit, and we'll see where I have to go from there!

JossFit Glad you slept so well and pooped so much! You'll get back into the swing of things at the gym - you've been UNDERFED for so long and your muscles may have lost their memory!

Thanks for the pullup advice - I guess upper body day will have to be at the Y with Billy Blanks. By the "end" of the program the rep counts are 4-6 for each lift - I hope I get some serious progress out of this!

Alex Some friends swear by Fitbit. They are obsessive about data and love numbers - I would hate to have that kind of data overload and worry about meeting number quotas every day, personally.

krampus : Kegs and other special stuff is the is indeed some important thing to think about! LOL Luckily we are just 6 people, but the friend that caused the issue is the kind of person that you would ask ''What do you prefer between A or B?'' - Oh, but I really like C!!!! lol

God job on swapping for the sushis! I love your training program, by the way. Jesus, I can't do a pull up either. I'm supposed to be working on the for the Spartan race but it looks so haaard.

olehcat : Enjoy you rest out, you seemed to be pretty tired!! So you are actually HAPPY that you got rain instead of snow? LOL that is funny, the boyfriend and I get it is raining these days... we love winter sports

Maddie : Congrats on the woosh bwahaha happy humping to you too !

Bayzee : At least you are staying on plan, if it is only a ovulation/hormons issue, everything will get solved by itself once this time is gone

Alexis : Height twin, I like that! Honestly, I don't really get how I did not gain the usual 4 pounds after the chips... I was really drinking tons. I do feel like I am getting a water pooch since this morning though, even if I am not eating that salty. Go figure.

Great job on the run! I loved the fact that I was able to go back and see what was working when I was keeping a food log. Unfortunaly I got lazy and dont do it anymore. LOL

I'm afraid I can't help you much for the fitbit thing, I never used any of those

Joss : I think your goals are quite reasonable. Plus your motivation will probably increase a lot now that you are doing workout you love and eating food you enjoy!

Oh OH YEAH FEATHERS MEETUP! I could bring Nanaimo bars :P

***

Hi ladies! Still at 139.2 this morning, but I feel like I have a pooch. My scale is so steady, I kinda find it weird that I'll weight the saaame thing from days to days... No poop today neither, I'm kinda due.

I might be in the ovulating time or something (jesus are we all ovulating at the same time?) because I felt like I wanted to eat/snack on everything this afternoon. I nibbled few things (a cracker, some cheerios, grapes) while doing stuff in the kitchen. I feel bad a bit, I felt like I should have controled myself more but at the same time, it was not high calories things neither (at least).

Did abs on my yoga mat this morning and than went to my old lab to talk to my prior boss. Since I am not working and he's super busy, he's offering my to write the article paper of my master project to get it publish, and he will pay me for that Gonna start this next week, I'm pretty excited of having a purpose in life LOL

hey, all, not much time to check in. This week has been crazy bad for me, although not for the weight, which continues to drop, lol. Today weighed in at 145. I haven't run since Sunday. I am supposed to run today, so I'm hoping that my run today doesn't make me gain water weight again, as I'm on such a role!

So I met a friend last night, the only fun thing I've had in over a week, and what happens? She got violently sick while we were hanging out! I had to drive her home, then drive her husband back to where she had parked her car. She's feeling much better already so must have been something she ate that day, yikes!

@Turbo - haha, definitely happy for the rain instead of snow! I hate snow! ;D We never get enough snow where I live for winter sports and it's just enough to cause inconvenience (my whole driveway gets impassible -- it's complicated, but it can't be shoveled easily because it's spread out (lots of people share it) and gravely, I hate driving in it, I don't like being cold, etc.! Definitely more a summer girl!)

@jossfit - I think it's definitely wise to wait to check on your weight. I bet your body's feeling sort of shocked and relieved right now!

@krampus - yeah, you're wise to see that you won't probably be able to eat like that forever, alas, life is unfair. Oh, man, wheN I think about what I used to get away with when I was in my 20s???? holy crap. I used to have like 8 sodas a day, doughnuts all weekend, went out to eat all the time, and got away with it. I was never skinny, but didn't gain weight either. Oh adn about your question, I use both the lat pull down and assisted chin up and I find the latter to be WAY harder (for me)!

@Alex - I agree on the food journals! I really love it when I clearly write down what I'm doing during a time of good weight loss. I need to remember to do that right now since my weight is dropping, even if it's just water weight right now! Oh, man, STILL so tired and it's only THursday with no rest in sight, not even much for this weekend!

@Bayzee - glad you're feeling better! I know getting sick messes with my weight, too. It will even out once you get back into your regular routine!

@maddie - 135 -- AWESOME! You're so close!
