Turbo:Way to go on your scale victory!

To all wagon-fall'er-off'ers: Add me to the list! Friday I had a whole day meeting so that meant breakfast and lunch out then we grilled out burgers and hot dogs that night... then Saturday night my calories weren't bad until I finished off 3/4 bottle of white wine... oops. Today was much better - ate decent and went for a run. We all just need to focus on the new week and put our indiscretions behind us!

Hi Feathers,

It IS funny to read how we all fell off at about the same time. Hihi. It's my first real bad slipping up ever. I do blame the carnival-overeating for one day (with alcohol) leading to 2days because I was carb/otherwise hung over. And then the caffeine withdrawal. All in all I've been eating bad for a whole week.

Yesterday was already a better day, but in the end went overboard on cashews at 1am when I was at work. Kind of a waste.

Have any of you done IF? I am seriously considering it. Just because then I can close the book on eating and move on to other things for a bunch of hours of a day. Would probably be better for me. I am home a lot and constantly near food. I can't control myself. lol.

IF = Intermittent Fasting.
philana ~ I've done it before and it does work to keep your mind off the act of eating, but I haven't found that it's super effective in losing weight. If you read some of the literature from "Fast-5" you see that there is an adjustment period of about a month where they warn that you will probably GAIN weight, which was not good news for me. Personally, I found that I did gain that weight AND was left with an even greater tendency to binge when I did eat. Maybe if I'd had the patience to wait out the "month long adjustment period" I may have seen a loss, but I got spooked pretty quick.

~~~
Urgh. Yesterday was another waaaaay big day for me. Kept the cut off, though. Double urg. Trying to hang in there, though.
Stay positive!
132.5 again this morning. I feel less bloated than yesterday, so maybe that means I gained fat in the last week. >_< I have a huge pile of salad with sesame oil/lime juice dressing and a plain Greek yogurt and blueberries for breakfast/lunch today, but I'm going out to eat with my parents later. Must make good choices!
Philiana - I tried intermittent fasting and I still do it to some extent, I tend not to eat until late morning like 11am..then I eat until about 9pm. Which is about a 10 hour "eating window"..about as large as you can go and still consider it intermittent fasting. I found it helped me lose weight and stick with-in my calories. My boyfriend and I tend to eat out a lot so it helps me save calories for the evening. I really love breakfast food so I eat "brunch" around 11 and then have a snack or small lunch at 3pm and then eat a big dinner around 8pm. I've been working out a lot lately and I do it in the evening and then have dinner afterwards so I'm thinking that I might try and push my window even later...like to 12 or 1pm. Since I don't need to fuel morning workouts.
I'm up to 138 again! Ugh! I don't know if it's because I just started a new weight lifting program or because I'm eating to much. I'm going to give myself another week and see what happens. Going to go to the gym now and then go grocery shopping to get healthy food for the week
Hopefully we can all get back on track!!
Alexis & Lisa: thanks for your input. I think I wanna do it the same way you do Lisa. The evenings (after dinner and before bedtime) is when I mess up. And I eat breakfast when I wake up because I feel like I have to. Not beause I really need it at that time.
I ate within calories again finally yesterday. Took me a WEEK. lol. And I already dropped 1.5lbs. I hope to drop more. I really couldn't have gained 5lbs in a week. lol.
(I also refuse to up my ticker. I am just gonna wait till I am at ticker weight again.. haha)
131.0 this morning. Ate not much below maintenance calories yesterday I imagine. Funny what "not eating ravioli right before bed" and pooping can do for the scale. I am definitely pudgier than last week though...gotta get back. It's really crazy how noticeable a pound and a half can feel.
I'm back at 136! I think maybe it was water weight from lifting. I went grocery shopping and bought streak, chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, yogurt...I'm determined to start eating higher protein and cut down on these pesky cards! I've only been lifting weights for a week but I'm starting to feel stronger, I'm excited to see if there is a difference at 6 weeks. I would really, really like to be at 130 for April 1st.
Philiana- that's how I feel about breakfast, I'm not even really hungry until noon! I have 1/2 cup of juice and black coffee in the morning when I wake up. I also don't get up very early..like 8 so I think that makes a difference too.
Have hauled myself back on the wagon, fastened my seatbelt, and settled in for the ride. Am also trying to do a bit of a post-mortem on this last bout of unrestrained eating, because when I go off the rails, I REALLY go off the rails...
The trigger for me was eating after my "nighttime cut-off" period on Friday night. After yoga on Friday, I had some of the veggie soup that was sitting out on the stove and even though it was SUPER low cal (homemade - just raw veggies in water) that was enough to push me up a bit on the scales for Saturday morning, which was enough to push me into the "I don't care" mindset for the rest of the weekend.
So moral of the story is: STICK WITH IT!!! Every bite counts.
Hey Girls,
I am back from Palm Springs. I definitely ate more than usually but I tried to eat what I really wanted without over doing it/binging. I find that when I try to really intuitively eat I eat less then if I say NO NO NO to everything. Then I end up binging. I worked out both days we were there and my we took lots of walks.
I'm not weighing myself for a while thought. I hate how I am scared of the scale!
Lisa - I feel heavier sometimes from working out too!
131.5 today. Thought gain would be more honestly, I drank alcohol and ate ice cream and shoveled bar popcorn into my face. TOM must be coming - I'm moody and hungry all the time!
Almost 2 weeks off-track now. I can't get back on. I know I need to reach a certain point in my head where I am fed up with myself, and I feel I am pretty close to that point. My 5k is in a bit over a week and if I kep this up I am gonna take 45mins to run it. lol.
Goodluck to you ladies! I am less involved on here when I am doing badly. Sorry about that!
Hey all!
I haven't posted in a few days, I was super busy at the lab and was super tired when I was coming home... I hope you're all doing fine
I was able to loose a bit of whatI think is water weight from last weekend, but now I'm really stock in the 145's. This morning I was still 1 pounds over my last friday WI. Could be worst, at least I left the 146's...
It is snowing again today after the huge snowstorm of last weekend, but they are forecasting RAIN for saturday! How to destroy the brand new fluffly snow...
Have a good day everyone!
