Hungerwerks-Your pix are why I decided to start doing exercise. "You add a lot of sunshine to a thread!" Thank you, for the kind words.

I have been reading a lot of stuff on here. You have a group of diabetes and an over 50 group, phooey, my kids are in their 50's

I'm not real sure I will be able to find some exercise that I can do. I have a handicap plates on my car from COPD. But I did quit smoking and I can breathe a little better unless it's an allergy problem day. I can't stand or walk real good yet either. But, I think exercise will help me to be able to do more.
I've been thinking about looking up exercises one can do sitting at the computer or sitting on the couch. The best of both worlds!

I found a site with free, sit in chair, senior exercises, for 10 minutes. I couldn't even do them all. But, I really feel a lot better for doing as much as I could.

I think these exercises will get blah very soon, but they are excellent for where I am right now. I put it on my favorites bar. So later on I can do them, a few times a day.

I am so excited about finding some exercises I can do. Thank you Kif and Hun, for setting me on this path.

Glad you found something! And there's probably lots more where that came from (the internets). Hey, if you find any you'd like to share, feel free to pass them on, if you want. I do spend a fair amount of time in front of the computer, and it would make that time much more healthy and productive.

Am I allowed to give out a website?? Just yahoo search..free in chair exercise for seniors...I think that's how I found it.

I lost another pound today

Maybe they have more advanced exercises for you. I couldn't even finish them. I'm in really bad shape. I was sick for a really long time and even in a wheelchair after some surgeries I went through.

Skittles, that's so exciting that your trip is coming up so soon! Congrats on not gaining - that is an accomplishment, in my book.

Plainly you're doing a ton of exercise. I've read that if exercises aren't doing it, you can research how to obtain a calorie deficit. If you get a calorie deficit, you can't help but lose weight, from what I understand. The trick is figuring out what kind of numbers you need to make that happen, as it's different for everyone.

Have a wonderful trip!

Skittles-Have a great time on your trip. A reward for working so hard? Sometimes, just staying the same weight is a lot of work, especially when you're closer to goal. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it.

Skittles - You have done so consistently awesome! Your determination is stellar Working out always messes up my weight loss, depending how intense I do it. I still haven't got that figured out yet. I have a 'healthier' lifestyle/body, but the scale stops moving or goes up. I knows there is a sweet spot to exercise intensity/calorie intake, but I haven't found it yet. Moderate to low intensity workout with 1000-1200 cals worked in the past, so I'm going to pick that up for the next week and see how it goes. However, whenever I go more 'extreme' with the exercise, I either increase my hunger and blow my diet, or my body rebels and stops doing its thing.
You have an wonderful vacay....you deserve it!!!

Dynx - Sounds like you have been through a lot. Keep taking good care of yourself. Great job on the 1 pound loss!

Klfli-Being through a lot, happens with old age. I keep at it, as long as I am alive. I believe in fighting to survive.

I lost most of my weight with out exercise, but now that I'm getting so close, I know I won't be happy without the exercise to tighten everything up as much as possible. I can't even open jars and I have to use an e-xacto to perform surgery on water bottles to get them open. I also get up off the floor like an old lady. Ugh!

I get off the couch like an old lady! Heck, I realized the other day I even sometimes just move forward and make a effortful "ugh!" I'm kind of a baby.

I'm going to have to do those "tightening tweaks," too. One thing that helps, imho, is to lose weight more slowly, at least toward the end. So my turtle-like pace may actually be doing some good.

I have LOVED reading this thread! I look my best when I weigh around 105---I'm 5'2"....but I have not been there in a LONG time. My clothes stopped fitting about two years ago and I have lived in sweats and have looked like a schlub. I just stuck my head in the sand and tried to pretend I was just fine. But I wasn't. I refused to get on a scale and would not go to the doctor because I dreaded the scale so much.

But at the end of January I decided it was time for me to take my life and my closet full of clothes back. Plus, I would love to wear shorts and sleeveless tops when summer rolls around.

Even though I started dieting in January of 2015, I refused to get on the scale until 1/28. I was at 128.4 at that point. I have been weighing in daily----at least on the days I am not traveling for work-----and this has held me accountable. It enabled me to tweak things that were not working and finally, as of today, 2/22/2015, I weighed in at 120.0. I am so excited to pass out of the 120's . I know that I have not made it out of the 120's in over 3 years.

Many of you posted about weight lifting and lots of exercise making you extra hungry or stalling your loss. I can totally relate to that. I know that it makes me hungrier and stalls me. So, I made at deal with myself at the beginning of this journey to not start weight training and heavy aerobic exercise until I reached 115. But, we shall see once I get down there. I do love when my arms are thin and toned. No where near that now! I am top heavy, thick in the arms and very broad. Once I lose weight, I lose the heavy (unattractive) boobs and thick arms. I just cannot wait for that! I cannot wear many tops because I just look like a bull. But someday soon.......Cannot wait.

I love reading all of your progress! It is soooo inspiring to me.
