Good Morning smashers!! All are doing a great job!! keep it up everyone
can do this!! the best support and best plan around! so lets keep our
commitment and do what we have to do to have victory!! A weigh
loss journey is never easy. But hey we will feel better with all the hard
work we put into it!! We can do anything and do anything we set
our minds to. Remember it all start in the mind. What you believe
about yourself you will live. So put those postive thought in and
keep the negative thought out!! Have a great fat smashing day.

I am starting Fat Smash today because it looks like a very healthy plan, and I have tried everything, most of them 2 or more times. I have read the book. Has anybody already lost significant weight? I have a lot to lose.

Default Good morning

Good morning fellow smashers! I orginally wanted to start day 1 phase 1 yesterday but I had forgot that I promised the kids dinner at McDonalds. Sooooo.......Today is Day 1 of Phase 1! I"m eating my blah oatmeal as I type.
Yesterday I made a big batch of Vegetable Soup and brown rice to keep me on track. I also made "parfaits"....yogurt, oatmeal and mandrin oranges.

Veggie Soup
1 med onion
3 cloves garlic
can of mushrooms
can of corn
can of green beans
can of mixed beans(chickpeas, lima beans etc)
can of diced tomatoes with spicy red pepper
a box of beef broth
1 cup of carrots sliced thin
1 zucchini chopped
lots of basil and oregano and cayenne pepper

Saute onions in bottom of big pot, add garlic, some beef broth and cook for 2 min. Add everything else except for the zucchini. Cook till carrots are tender then add the zucchini for about 3-5 min. YUMMY!
I cooked some brown rice too. So in the bottom of the bowl I portioned out 1/2 cup of brown rice then about a cup of veggie soup and then mixed together!YUMMY
Definitly will be a staple for me!

Well I'm off to surf the web. Hope everyone has a smashing good day and I will check back in here later!

Smile Where is everyone?

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing today. So far I am doing very well. I hope this new way of eating is going to give me alot more energy. I'm always tired. Though I know it doesn't help that I'm a night owl..lol
Does anyone else eat when they are bored? Or have trouble stopping eating when they are eating something soooo good? I mean, you feel full, but it tastes so good that you eat more until you are stuffed and can't move and then say to yourself "why did I eat that much?" I'm like that, so I'm trying to watch my portion sizes and tell myself...you can eat again in a few hours.

Does anyone know if the new Egg Creations are allowed on phase 1?

Well I'm off to surf the boards. Talk to you all later.

Kelly

Hey Kelly.....

That's the good thing about Fat Smash--it teaches you to eat the right things at the right times. Smaller more frequent meals are the best way to go.

To answer your question--yes I do! All the time. And it makes no sense. I have it in my mind that I have to eat something until it is all gone. That is why I always portion out things--otherwise I would eat it all!!

Thumbs up new here .....

hi everyone,
i just bought my book last night. long story short i have been on my weight loss journey since having my son and i have lost 74 pounds my whole pregnancy i was on bed rest and gained soooo much weight.i didn't even indulge in crqppy food i just was not mobile for 9 months. it was awful
so here i am on the last twenty and i have been doing some research on the diet and i am going to give it a try.alot of my fav foods i can eat in phase 1 so i'm am stoked.
i have been low-carb the last month and lost eight pounds but i don't like how my body retains water for days when i do eat a opiece of fruit. that for me is not a lifelong way of eating. i feel so gross after all the fat ,eggs, chesse, and meats i searched detox and found the fat smash.
so wish me luck and i will start sunday after i complete the book and grocery shop

Default P1 Day 5

Hey Chicas!! I am doing great, I hope you are all doing great too.

I have been eating according to the book with no cheats.

I have been able to keep my calories up where I want too.

Last night I got in 30 minutes of strength training and tonight I will run for 40 - 45min.

NSV - This may be TMI - you can stop here if you'd like - I have never been very regular. I was lucky to go once every other day. Lately I've been super regular - being able to go everyday and up to 3 times. This is a big deal to me because I've had some major GI issues in the past. I've probably lost an inch in my waist just from this. Eating 62g of fiber a day must be helping.

News - DH and I have decided to TTC!!! I have been wanting to have another child for a while, so I am sooo happy. We will start trying in about a month. Once we are I will have to alter what I'm eating quite a bit - calories anyway.

Food:
7am Banana
8:30am 4 egg whites, 1/2c each black beans and brown rice, grapefruit
10:30am 1/2c each black beans and brown rice, apple
1:00pm Veggie Chilli, 1c Cantelope
3:30pm 4.5oz Sugar Snap Peas, 2 small carrots, 6oz FF Yogurt
7:30pm 1/2c each black beans and brown rice, 1 cucumber

Red face Hi Everyone

Hi everyone ~ Today is my first day to a brand new way of eating and way of life - hopefully. I'm not sure what the smash diet is exactly, however, I'm sure I'll catch on shortly. The main reason I am starting my new lifestyle is that my chloresterol levels were high, the fat levels were elevated and I binge eat!! Now, I know that heart disease is the #1 (silent killer) for women and I'm certainly not ready to leave this planet; especially fat! lol I began a 0 chloresterol and 0 fat diet regiment about 10 days ago and have lost some weight. Did I mention that I never ate veggies at all?!? Well, that's almost all I've been living on, and a lot of them! Does binge eating on veggies count as a negative thing? In October, about the 3rd week, I have a new blood work tests to see if (hopefully yes) the 0 chloresterol diet has worked at all to lower the levels. If not, then I must accept the fact that I need to take medication. I loath pills - I am a terrible pill/medicine taker! I am also walking atleast 3x a week now for about an hour which should help out too. A carrot a day will keep the med's away! I'm thinking about purchasing that Turbo Jam dvd ~ not too sure if I'll be able to do it though.

Well, still no weight loss in a week. I am really wanting to give up. I worked out Monday for 60 min and last night for 45, will work out tonight thru Sunday. I am doing The Firm workouts if you have ever heard of them. Jen415 I am eating just like phase 1 except I am adding a little shredded cheese to my salad and eating chicken breast at night. Doing brown rice every other day. I shouldn't have a plateau 2 1/2 weeks into it and after only losing 8.5 pounds...very frustrated.

Here is sample of what I eat.

7am 1 1/2 cup Special K with 1 cup skim milk
930 am 1 cup coffee w/splenda
1030 Piece of fruit
100pm Salad w/green peppers, cukes, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli and low fat dressing
3pm Fruit
530 Usually do my workout here
7pm 3oz of tuna with mayo (amoutn we can have)
green beans
9pm Apple slices

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I guess I will go back to totally phase 1.

Default Phase I

I am on day 9 of Phase I and have lost 7.5 lbs (currently weigh 199.5).
Is it ok to start Phase I over, or is it better to move on to Phase II..
My first goal is 174 lbs, I don't have a definate timeline of when I need to get there by, but Phase I was pretty easy. Not sure if I'd get the same results though, if I continue another week. I would hate to move to Phase II and lose less then 2-3 lbs per week. Any thoughts?
Thanks!! Mary

Default Good Morning, Smashers - IT'S FRIDAY!!

We made it thru the week! I'm now on Day 11 of Phase 1. I know, I know. There are only 9 days of Phase 1, but I'm heading down to see family this weekend, and there may be some temptations (as they are what you would NOT call supportive with healthy habits) so I thought I'd give myself an extra boost). I do have plans to meet a friend at a Chinese buffet for lunch today. That's going to be my first personal "test". Lately, just the smell of foods I once loved to eat, now makes me queasy. So maybe its a good thing. I see myself eating a salad, some egg-drop soup, and picking out veggies from one of the low-sauce dishes. It's the friendship and talking I'm looking forward to, not the food!!! I know I'll do OK...Hopefully!

Gotta scenerio to run by you. I'm doing FatSmash as well as track WWPoints at the same time - just to see how things work out. At the end of the day, I've consistently had at least 4-5 points left over at throughout Phase 1. And that doesn't include the FlexPoints - I haven't even touched those in 2 weeks. I've felt really full after meals too. Could that explain why I've only lost 4 pounds in Phase 1 (I started at 152.8 and I'm currently at 148.6)? Exercise isn't an issue - gym junkie 4x a week plus walking or other exercise once or twice a week. I'm eating 4 meals a day. Does this seem on track to you guys? Am I perhaps expecting too much? Don't get me wrong, I'm not disappointed, and I am NOT giving up. On the contrary! I just wanted to make sure that this sounded "on track" with you guys...

Thanks for your input!

hey AuntieCiCi, we are in the same boat. I am also track WW points as well as doing fat smash, and ive also lost 4 lbs, and we weigh about the same i was 155.6 now im down to 151.0 so i guess for our weight range 4 lbs is about the avg weightloss. im happy with that because i was stuck at a plateau simply tracking ww points, maybe it is just to high an amount to see such a quick weightloss and i did not want to wait a month just to lose a pound. I also work out 5 days a week which is helping the weightloss along. I do cheat once a week bc i dont have time for dinner so i stay at the 1200 calories level but replace one meal with one zone bar because i have class all night. its still working pretty well though. Unforuntately tonight is the jewish new year and my friends mom is cooking and she is amaziing at cooking, but also a food pusher, ill have to plan ahead for tonight and use my willpower not to overindulge because these 4 pounds have made a big difference in the way i feel, i actually feel fat shedding off and im not all bloated. I am so happy i found the book, and thankful i found this website bc everyone here is so upbeat it keeps me on track and im positive now and full of the will to stick with it and make it to 140 by the new year. which will be 95 lbs for me! I never thought i'd get her ever! but i guesss thats also what happens when you have a dr for 21 yrs who doesnt acknowledge that you truly are sick (i had a b12 deficiency) and never goes to check your blood samples thoroughly. I feel like a completely new person now! If anyone here has frequent migraines, fatigue and depression, it could be related to b12 deficiency, something apparently many doctors overlook, so watch out for youselves! everyone have a good weekend <3
